I have no real reason for starting this post other than wanting to here about what 357's you are in love with.  I will start I love my Dan Wesson 15-2 and my model 85 Taurus. And I have been in love with that sexy little LCR but I have never got past first base with her.

I too love the 357.  Out of either a Smith 19 (wifes gun) or my Marlin 1894, it's one of the most versatile handgun calibers around.  Once you reload, the possibilities are endless.  Same can be said for 44.  It's a lot of fun to shoot powderpuffs back to back with stout magnum loads in the same cylinder!

Um... Shouldn't there be some pictures in this thread by now?? :taunt:

I love my S&W model 13-3

I have the original grips too, but I like shooting it with these.

Gr8....

It's time to appoint you the curator and resident authority on the great model 27 smith.. You have the greatest collection of em ive ever seen anywhere brother... They are my favorite "N" frame smith... They were built with more attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship than any of the other smiths; and that's a pretty tall accomplishment... They are all beautiful... Thanks for takin the time to post photos of these beautiful pieces of history and genuine proven "birth certificate revocation tools"...

With great awe and admiration,

leroy

I'm seriously thinking about adding a 357 mag revolver to my modest collection. What got me started down the road was this: Ruger series 77

I'm thinking I could develop loads from mild to wild and with detachable mags I could keep a couple different things loaded up. I'm even wondering about threading the barrel and developing a heavy subsonic load. Being bolt action it should be really quiet and I think having something really quiet I can shoot 50-75 yards would be nice when we move to the farm.

Fantastic caliber! Unfortunately the 686 had the barrel replaced and has the large lettering, but then again, it's a fresh barrel :).

My only current .357 is a Marlin Model 1894 Lever Action Carbine, manufactured in 1981 (love it). I plan to add a revolver to go with it, maybe this thread will help me to decide what. I'm thinking double action with 6" barrel in stainless like the Ruger Security 6 but I'm still shopping.
