Not sure it will do any good but I sent this email to the Chamber of Commerce. I'm guessing last summer was my first and last time in CO. I sure do hate it though, it was a beautiful state. Dear Colorado Chamber of Commerce, I wanted to let you know that my wife and I had a wonderful time visiting your state for the first time last summer. We had planned to come again this summer and this time bring our two college aged children with us. I wanted to let you know that due to your state's recent attack on the second amendment rights of law abiding citizens, my family has cancelled travel plans to your state. I cannot support your state with my tourism money. Until CO lawmakers decide to bring logic back into the discussion and reverse their recently passed laws, my family will not be back. No law can prevent evil people from doing evil things. You only end up punishing the law abiding citizens. Thank you, XXXXXX Nashville, TN6 points

Please understand that your request will be met with skepticism, since most common sense folk know that a simple photo can be made to project good or bad, depending on the photographer. I'm no professional photographer, but if Ghandi was still alive I could take seemingly innocent photographs of him during a set which could make him look like a saint or make him look menacing. Now, you're talking about photographing gun owners in their homes for the purpose of a private project of yours. I assume you understand how easily one could make us responsible gun owners who believe in the right to use force to protect ourselves and our families look like gun toting lunatic vigilantees. The fact that you're from New York doesn't help your cause. I know that not all New Yorkers are pants wetting hoplophobes, but it is one of the big 3 states that believes in removing weaponry from the hands of law abiding citizens. I can only assume that the majority of your citizens fit the category of pants wetting hoplophobes since they keep getting elected there. So again, forgive our skepticism; it is only because, in the south, common sense is still pretty common.5 points

Of course this is not the answer for everyone, my justication for having my personal ammo depot paid off this year. I have not needed any ammo whatsoever, none. I do still shoot the same frequency as before. For you guys that live hand to mouth on ammo, it pays to have a little ammo inventory on site. My didn't come over night, my recipe for years was if I shoot 2 boxes of 9mm, I replaced my stash with 3 boxes within 48 hours. I did this over a course of years, and it slowly built my inventory. Actually this is the same recipe that I got me so overweight, that is anothet story. While I was building, I didn't know why I was doing it. I didn't have clear plan. Come to think of it, my aquisition of guns is similiar, do not know why I just keep adding, and adding. I have no clear plan with that either. My suggestion, IF and WHEN this crap is over, not all at once unless you are flushed with disposible income, start building your ammo depot, slowly. Then if you do not reload, you may just want to have supplies on hand. I can assure you if you have no desire to reload, you will when the ammo cubbard is dry.4 points

At the end of the tax year, the IRS office sent an inspector to audit the books of a local hospital. While the IRS agent was checking the books, he turned to the CFO of the hospital and said, I notice you buy a lot of bandages. What do you do with the end of the roll when there's too little left to be of any use?" "Good question," noted the CFO. "We save them up and send them back to the bandage company and every once in a while, they send us a free roll." "Oh," replied the auditor, somewhat disappointed that his unusual question had a practical answer. But on he went, in his obnoxious way. "What about all these plaster purchases? What do you do with what's left over after setting a cast on a patient?" "Ah, yes," replied the CFO, realizing that the inspector was trying to trap him with an unanswerable question. "We save it and send it back to the manufacturer and every so often they will send us a free bag of plaster." "I see," replied the auditor, thinking hard about how he could fluster the know-it-all CFO. "Well," he went on, "What do you do with all the remains from the circumcision surgeries?" "Here, too, we do not waste," answered the CFO. "We save all the little foreskins and send them to the IRS office, and about once a year they send us a complete prick." (No offense to any IRS auditors out there :D )3 points

It's a crying shame, no doubt. But at least there are a few folks left in Colorado with some integrity. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mj2VbhuICeY&feature=youtu.be As with any unjust law, there is in fact a Duty to disobedience.3 points

That'd be great for us, but I'd really hate to see a "special privilaged class" created just because I'd benifit from it. I'd like to see every law-abiding person share the same "right" to keep & bear arms as the 2nd intended.3 points

if you carry a gun in you ca then shut the heck up. It is no one else's business, and it only carries a downside if found out. If someone axes me if I have a gun in my truck I tell the truth. "No". Of course I don't add that there are two.3 points

Personally I wouldn't even consider it until the prices normalize. Right now there is a spike because of demand, and pretty soon that demand is going to disappear. If you planned on doing it, I would build a strategy around the ammo price being what it was 6-12 months ago and not from December till now.2 points

Am I the only one trying to take notes on who I wouldn't do business with later on because of their actions during this mess? Between ammo gougers and these people selling multiple "New in box!" firearms, I've gathered quite a list. And that's only the a-holes who post their phone number or email address in their ad, and the occasional member on here.2 points

Don't see how that will prove to be other than idle bravado. What other state laws would he like to violate while he's at it? And I'd further opine that expelling students for doing it would cost them big time too, so they'd have to back off on that PDQ also should they try it. Of course the practical absurdity of his statement is that unless some HCPer has to use his heater, no one will ever know anyway without a search, which will bring on its own set of problems if they want to try that. - OS2 points

I say due to the ammo problem, who wants to buy a gun that you can not buy ammo for. Basic supply and demand, over supply and no demand.2 points

Seeing ammo sell out at legit stores like Cabelas for instance in an hour and pop up on forums or other websites in a day or two at 35 - 75 percent increase. its also amazing that people buy it at such inflated prices. Maybe the IRS is watching all these sales.....ya just never know these days.1 point

Sure. It is the perfect handgun, just as John Browning intended. As evidenced by it's popularity today, after being in production for over 100 years, there just isn't anything better.1 point

As a back sliding Methodist, I don't have much to say, but as a student of history and an animal lover, I like that the new pope is named after St. Francis of Assisi, patron saint of animals. I explained this to my dogs and I think it made them happy.1 point

Yes it does. " The short answer is: police in almost all circumstances are allowed to say whatever they want to get you to incriminate yourself." /Internet quote FWIW ... And I do state for the record that I am pro-LE and respect the job they do. I am against bad laws and the political and legal consequences that are incurred when they are enforced selectively to prove an agenda that has no basis on logic or reason. I read history to learn the lessons taught. What I have learned is when a bad law is implemented, evil fills the vacuum that is left behind. Much of our current societal ills today are a direct result of bad laws and legislation enacted and enforced. That, my LE colleague, is not humor ... rather it is abject horror that the obvious is ignored and the agendas are implemented.1 point

I don't really care where the money goes or where it comes from. Anyone profiting from laws that protect their business at the expense of the voting populace can just figure out a new business plan. If they lose some business, so folks can pick up a bottle of wine when they shop for groceries, so be it. If I had my way, I'd take away their exclusive rights to sell liquor too. At the same time, I think it's ridiculous to tell liquor stores they can't sell smokes, beer, corn dog, or whatever, too.1 point

It isnt just women, but yea, its dumb and both irresponsible & discouraging. They do it to kids and novice shooter men too. One guy tried it on me with a 44, and I shot it one handed, dead center, put it back down, and said "for all the noise I thought it was going to kick". Now that was funny :P I guess he thought my .22 meant I was a wimp or a novice or something.1 point

Whittaker's is in Owensboro, Ky. I believe that they are the largest gun store in Ky. I've found the best way to keep up with their inventory is on Facebook. They post their morning and afternoon releases every day and seem to get all of the best toys. They've put out several PMR-30s in the last week and have ARs up every day at pre-hysteria prices.1 point

I think lawsuits will pop up every time someone gets fired now. The plaintiff will claim they were fired for having a gun in their car. This is going to cost the taxpayers of Tennessee millions of dollars in litigation. It was fine before and now that this has passed it changes nothing. A worker will still be fired for having a gun in their car the only difference is now the employer won't say that is why they were fired. Problem was people couldn't keep their mouth shut about having a gun in their car. And if they think they can now openly say they have a gun in their car, when they couldn't before, without ramifications they are probably going to to have a big surprize. I am glad you guys got what you wanted but I don't see how it improved it from what it was before. Dolomite1 point

Talk about pissed........ My step-son is 19. He's an awesome young man. He graduated High School at 16 and joined the National Guard at 17 with a contract to pay for his college. At Ft. Sill, He finished 1st out of 250 in his "boot camp" training. He then finished 1st out of another group of about the same number in his AIT training at the same location. He finished his first semester of college and half of the second while in the NG before he turned 18 with a 3+ point average. He's been back less than a week from a 1 year deployment to the Middle east and has been working towards getting signed up for another year of college (he took a second semester online while deployed). While deployed he signed up for 6 more years. Well, he found out yesterday that his financial assistance contract with the Guard is no more. No more assistance for college at all. Due to budget cuts of our military. Of course his pay was cut before he got back home. He's been making less than he made when he left, even with time and and rank increase. Talk about a %$*& up situation.... But the good news is this: Welfare is just fine...no cuts in pay or bennies for those folks. They're just fine with their welfare check and all the money they can make from drugs. End of rant.1 point

Sorry, didn't realize I was bragging. Just happy to get any kind of .22 ammo. Not much to be had out there. All three of my .22's feed it just fine. This also means I get to head out to my dad's property with my 10 and 13 year old sons and do some plinking. Thats going to do us quite a few weekends. What more could a father ask for? Spending some good quality time with his sons out on the range plinking bottles and can. And, at the end of the day,not much money out of my pocket to do it with. So yes, I guess I am bragging. Matter of fact, bragging pretty hard.1 point

Academy in Knoxville has a lot of Tula 7.62x39. 1 box limit but I have been able to pick up a box everyday for the last 2 weeks. I just left with my daily ration and they still had over 100 boxes of it on the shelf. The price is 5.99, I do not mind paying the extra .40 to not go to Walmart.1 point

Jay:_____________ Just happended to think of somethin else ALA Gun Control Act of 1968. There was some sentiment in the country for this one. .....The Kennedys, MLK...... I see no sentiment among most people for gun control now. Now, you have individual states actually expanding gun rights (....or, more correctly, restoring gun rights....). Even the "Snozz" Haslam is sayin that "... state officials are monitoring the federal legislative scene closely to see that the gun rights of Tennesseeans are not infringed...". That simply was not going on in the 60's. I firmly believe that more and people are discovering on their own exactly what the Second Amendment is really about. I count that a good thing. As to the Republican thing; ...i see them (...for the most part...) as just another bunch of sons and daughters of satan that want to tell you and me what we can do, what we can have, and how much money we can keep. That is exactly what has made me a radical isolationist libertarian. I dont like any of 'em. Keep your powder dry. leroy1 point
