WWF fired its leaders after somebody dropped a dime on their spending habits. Apparently they were spending 40% of income on overhead. It will be good if that money can go where it was intended, rather than being used for expensive "conferences" at resorts.3 points

They actually have some of the lowest rates as far as what goes to those they are supposed to help. It started life with good intentions and then making money became their goal. I know it is a non profit but that just means their bank account is zero at the end of the year. Like a lot of non profits excess goes into paying salaries rather than into those they are helping. I do not support the WWP and will not. Plenty of other veteran organizations that actually give more. Look at all their legal fees from suing other organizations that are helping our veterans. You mention you help the wounded and they come after you. You have a black and white image of a soldier and they come after you. WWP has sued quite a few and I haven't really looked into it but I wonder home many of those they have sued had to close their doors over mounting legal fees.3 points

And we are full for this match. Looking forward to a great group and a lot of fun on the 24th. I'll send out squad emails closer to time. We will take wait list registration in case any drops, so get on if you want to shoot at an outstanding new facility. This is the first of many matches to come, so be on the lookout for posts.2 points

Marines: "The face of the Marine Corps, and the last thing the enemy will see!" A Marine Force Recon Sergeant as he prepares to grab his ruck and head back out into the Vietnamese jungle. Vietnam ; May, 1971. Navy: A Navy SEAL, carrying a Mk23 5.56mm Machine Gun (Stoner 63), moves through deep mud as he makes his way ashore from a boat, during a combat operation in South Vietnam in 1970. (U.S. Navy photograph by PHC A. Hill) Air Force: Seems that I remember Star Wars using the Snake Eye tail fins from those bombs. The purpose of the cool looking tail fins is to slow the bomb so that it won't impact the jet when it explodes. (Note: I'm hoping that is an Air Force jet) Army. 'Nuff Said2 points

Congrats. Don't believe for a moment this will be your only AR. They don't call it the black rifle disease for nothing. :) Dont believe that crap that AR's can be run "dry". Lube the appropriate areas as shown in the manual. You can never have too much ammo or Pmags. Configure the rifle like you intend to use it otherwise you'll end up installing a bunch of stuff you don't need and just make the rifle heavier. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk2 points

That's the thing. I've considered starting a thread titled, "I don't trust Facebook, so I'd like to turn TGO into one" and move a bunch of threads in there... We've got joke threads. We've got animal pictures to no end. Here's funny stuff kids say. A couple of recipe videos and we're there.2 points

Went to Vegas some years back and same thing. Big ole sign on the side of the building touting them as the best, open 24 hours 7 days a week yada yada. Right underneath was a sign saying closed for filming. The shows popularity is stupifying, but not as much so as the amount of people who believe there is any reality to reaity TV.2 points

Yes, there's a "stop sale" in force for those models now. They're working on a software update that will have to be verified, and reverified, and re-reverified before it's ready for use. Then they'll likely issue notice to all registered owners of a mandatory recall, which will piss off all the people who live in an area where emissions testing isn't required (which is probably the majority).1 point

I have the M&P and liked it so well I got a 2nd one. One of them runs a bump-fire stock that is a little hard on the gun (heats it up fast and runs a lot of rounds thru it) and its taken the abuse without complaint. I liked those 2 so well I got a M&P 308 to go with them. They are well made guns at a good price backed by a solid company that will fix it if something breaks (haven't had anything break on the ARs but they were good about a revolver that went bad). As far as stuff ... I keep it pretty simple. An optic, a fore-end grip, a sling are all I need. My grip has a cheap bipod in it that will do in an emergency. First recommendation... even though 223 is cheap, reloading it is cheaper and its a high round count style of shooting. You might want to look into it. Its a little intense with having to trim brass but I have been glad to do it. Then again, I have a hungry gun so its just a thought. Holding it... fore-end grip and sling grips are worth learning. There are videos on this all over the web. Its not difficult, just something you need to see a few times. Last one ... leave it alone and shoot it for a while. You can spend another 500 bucks replacing parts and fooling with it, but the gun is fine out of the box. If you wanted a 2000 dollar AR, sell this one and go buy a 2000 dollar custom colt. This isn't really an upgrade gun -- if you get snobbish youll want to replace 50% of it and if you aren't snobbish, leaving it alone is great.1 point

I'll let everyone what it was, if we find out what's in the duffle bag. Side note. This fudging thing fell out of the bed of my truck and woulda made some crack head or rednecks life a wet dream. I can't say enough good things about the gentleman that found it.1 point

When I was a teenager I always found the intimidation tactics somewhat funny and mostly annoying. I wasn't scared, mainly because I was cocky. I was fairly confident I could stomp most of the girls Dad's who I meet in a fight. Of course I was also raised by a dad who I was afraid of and who I knew not only could I not handle in a fight of any kind, but he would have taken a club to me if he found out I was being a disrespectful little #### about someone's daughter so it wasn't a real concern anyway. And I was raised to be a respectful man, and never had a run in with any girls parents. I followed their rules, respected their daughter, them and my parents and I never had an issue. I will say the guy in the picture looks like a little rooster. I probably wouldn't be afraid of that, gun or no gun. Sent from behind the anvil1 point

The VW software people programmed the car to recognize the presence of an engine analyzer. When the analyzer is installed, the computer uses different fuel/ignition map and engages the emissions systems. When the analyzer is removed, the computer defaults back to a different map which uses less fuel, disengages emissions systems, and results in higher NOx and SOx emissions than are allowed by the regs. They cheated and got caught. Does that really mean anything to the end consumer? Only if you live in a place that requires emissions testing.1 point

Pretty sure the last one is from a diorama. Definitely not real. I can't wait to see what the VA has in store for me today. I get to get asked about why I feel the need to have guns, whether I was raped by my superiors while in service as well as why I prefer private care over VA care. Anytime you say anything even remotely outside their comfort zone they go on the offensive with threats. Maybe I will record today's visit for posterity. I wish I could just avoid the VA but the last time I tried to avoid them they said they would stop my VA benefits if I did not come in for my annual visits.1 point

To me, the presence of the gun and particularly his finger on the trigger removes all silliness and makes it pure intimidation. Your co-worker is lucky that 22 yr old doesn't understand the concept of assault, though its clear he doesn't understand the concept of statutory rape either.1 point

I thank God that I had sons. If I had had a daughter, I'm sure that by the time she turned 18 I'd either be in jail or dead. True story: A co-worker of mine had a rather attractive daughter. When she was around 16-17 her date showed up to take her out. Dad insisted on meeting him. Turns out that this guy was 22. Skeptical, but not wanting to disappoint his girl, Dad started laying down the rules including what time to be home. This guy's response was "I'm a grown man. I do what I want!" Dad's response was to shove a 9mm in this jerks mouth and back him out the door! The girl never heard from him again. :biglol:1 point

Not all TDis only pretty recent years, and honestly it's a load of crap. These remarkably efficient engines are burning half the fuel of many of their competitors and when hooked up to an actual 5 gas analyzer they produce LESS(by slightly over half) the raw emissions PER MILE than the comparable gasoline powered drivetrains offered in the same vehicles.1 point

I grew up hunting and fishing and my dad taught me to respect nature and obey the rules. These 2 punks have no respect for either and I feel their punishment was no where close to adequate for what they did. Banning them from hunting for life is no punishment, they've already shown they'll kill 40 deer when they want without regard to the law. A measly $5000 fine each isn't enough either. </rant>1 point

Out here it's people on ATV's or 4 wheelers. What we usually do is get the neighbors to help us "stop" them where we're all armed, our neighbor then politely points out the trespassing issue, documents their vehicles and says let's not meet again. It works really well. ;-) and I don't have to waste ammo!1 point

Glock 20 Gen 4. 10mm will destroy villages, pillage and ravage harlots, kill anything from a Yeti to a M1 Abrams and has longer ranges than most handgun cartridges. Also itll make you grow a beard, jump 100 feet, immune to elemental damage, speak Latin and Ancient Mayan, automatically SMUD RSP Mk84s and increase your reflexes. Also itll automatically disable any felcher with a .40SW as your sheer indomitable will and omnipotence will render them into cuckold girlymen (they already are) and cause them to give you their goods and daugthers (or sons, if youre into that like HiPower is). Then you can become Imperator of Post Apocalyptia and transform into an Eagle that craps 105mm ICMs on the Nemesis Forces like liberals, the French, cav scouts, PETA, .40 owners and LGBT activists. Jesus carried a 10mm, just saying. Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk1 point
