One of the things a member has the choice of when they register for an account on TGO is whether they wish to receive any emails from the community. This includes not only the emails that the software sends out but also the emails that we periodically send out to our members to alert them to various things. For anything that we send as a "newsletter" there is always a link to use to unsubscribe. It's quick and easy. There's also a way to adjust the emails that you receive by changing your notification settings here on the forum. The link to that is here. However, using your email system to report the mailings as spam is absolutely the wrong way to unsubscribe. It is also a quick way to get banned from TGO entirely. The forum software will ban you if you take that approach rather than unsubscribing properly. Here's the deal, folks... if you don't want to receive email, that's fine. I get a lot of email that I unsubscribe to also. BUT... reporting our email as spam when you opted to receive it, causes problems for the other members. One of the most common issues I have to spend time with is when someone says they aren't getting the emails we send that they want to receive. Claiming our email is spam (when it isn't) just hurts everyone and complicates that situation even further. Just something to keep in mind.7 points

http://www.miamiherald.com/news/local/community/broward/article209619234.html While the enemies of freedom had their special snowflakes marching and whining in Washington last month, the NRA was raising a record $2.14 million -- $1.9 million of it from small donors. The NRA makes mistakes sometimes, but results like this are why left-wing authoritarians hate and fear the organization so much. I'm proud to have made my modest donation on March 24, and I am pleased that so many here at TGO did the same. Cheers, Whisper7 points

My favorite is getting drunk and calling everybody on TGO a queer. That gets you a triple x lifetime ban.4 points

NO! It was the epic Letereat thread. He was banned way before the thread actually ended.3 points

I don't care about that number, due to the fact that multi-millionaire contributors can write a check for any amount we raise. I care more to learn the number of contributors, on both sides.2 points

We could bring back Chief Serpas to make the crime stats go down. Crime itself wouldn't go down, but the stats would look awesome again! He had some Cajun voodoo going on with his book-cooking recipes.2 points

Considering that the software bans people automatically, and you aren't banned... the math is kind of easy.2 points

RESCHEDULED FROM ITS ORIGINAL DATE ! Fight At Night : Defensive Concepts for Dark Environments Date: Saturday SEPTEMBER 22 Time: 4PM - 11PM Location: The Ridge Dayton TN. (http://www.theridgeshooting.com/) Price $150 cash or check. ($50 Deposit to hold spot / balance due night of class). Instructor: Randy Harris This rarely offered class will cover some critical skills which include shooting with and without the help of flashlights in low or no light. We will work both proactively challenging unknown potential threats and also reacting to unexpected close range attacks in low light settings. You will see just how much light you really need to accurately shoot by and how much light you actually need to ID targets. We will also cover manipulating the pistol in the dark both with and without a light in our hands. We will load , unload and clear malfunctions with and without flashlights. A fair amount of time will also be devoted to using the flashlight as a tool to help you get deselected in the "pre fight interview" , use the light as a distraction device and impact weapon, and as a bridge from less lethal to lethal force. Range Gear and requirements : Handheld flashlight (Surefire 6P, G2, Streamlight Scorpion or similar). Extra batteries. Pistol and holster designed to be worn on the belt. Two spare mags (3 total minimum) and a mag pouch. Range Safety gear (eye and ear protection) . Clothing appropriate for weather. Snacks and drinks. Also bring a few rounds of your carry ammo so you can see exactly what it does in low light ! Ammo: Approximately 250 rounds. If you have a weapon mounted light for your pistol and want to use it for some drills then please bring it too. If your carry pistol has a light that is fine too just make sure it fits your holster. If you have a "blue gun" or airsoft gun and training knife or inert "trainer" pepper spray you want to bring feel free to do so. We will be doing some interactive exercises where students will play the role of both good guys and bad guys to get a better feel for just what each experiences when the techniques are applied in low light. If you don't see it from both sides you only know about half of what is going on. A $50 deposit will hold a spot for you in this class. Balance due at class. You are also welcome to pay in full in advance too. We are limiting it to 16 students so you might want to get your deposit in soon. To register or for more info either PM me here at TGO or email me at Cruelhandluke2000@yahoo.com. Hope to see you there! Some Bio info and some of my training resume.....http://www.suarezinternationalstore.com/instructor-randy-harris.aspx1 point

This just made my Friday. Watching Dave Grohl's reactions after he pulled this guy onstage in Austin on Wednesday is just great. No way he was expecting that level of competence: Got other examples of people just shining when they get their moment in the light? Post it up.1 point

Indeed. His courage was officially noted by both houses of the Tennessee legislature. He started a gofundme drive on behalf of the families of the victims, and a gofundme drive was also started by another party on behalf of his daughter. Must have pissed the newsies off royally that they couldn't impugn this man's character. To whomever is running this site, if this brave man shows up here, I volunteer to front him for a year Benefactor membership. SWC1 point

As an old man who knows nothing about computers or email, I have learned something new. I have never marked TGO mail as spam but I have other senders. Never realized that it negatively affected them. I always thought my email account put them in my spam file and that was the end of it. I'll be a bit more careful from now on about who's email I mark as spam.1 point

Anything that is not directed email sent to me it is placed in a social section which is like facebook and such. The everything else not sent directly to me goe in the promotions section. If it is anything that has TGO connected to it I stick it in the TGO file I have after reading it. I never spam anything TGO period.1 point

Boriqua Leather works, Alex is his name. I first saw his work on the CZ boards, really nice work on the "standard" ones and some of the custom stuff was just plain awesome. Retired gentleman and artisan who does leatherwork including holsters as kind of a hobby. Excellent guy to deal with! My first custom from him1 point

hizzonner pro tem can take a run and jump at himself. I'm just glad that the guy is in custody. I don't want to know what sort of a twisto he is, nor what meds he was supposed to be on, nor none of that. He killed innocent people, without cause or regret. He needs to be speedily tried, and if (when) found guilty, answer for his crime with his life. SWC1 point

Not to worry. Mayor Briley's gonna clean up the town, get rid of all these war like guns, bring peace & harmony among his people. O' course he's not going to mess with the lunatics though, they're not the problem, guns are. I'd like to kick his sissy butt.....just saying.1 point

Great article. I've always tried to put myself in the shoes, or the mindset of new Americans back in the days that the Constitution was written and try to imagine how they thought. Their opinions and writings seem to be pretty much straight forward and accepted as the norm among the vast majority of new independent Americans. To me, the 2nd. Amendment was intended to express a right that we already had and that's for a man to own and keep his rifle or pistol to defend himself, his family, and his neighbors from indian attacks, criminal hooligans, an attack from an invading army either from another country or some tyrannical unconstitutional army from his own government. As a capable man it was understood that it was a duty to organize with his neighbors as a militia if needed to protect his city, state, or country from any and all criminal or unconstitutional attacks. The idea of a capable man owning personal firearms was accepted not only as an individual right but a duty to his family and country. I believe they envisioned a possible scenario in the future where some in the government might twist and turn and pervert the meaning of their patriotic intentions and attitudes so they wrote the 2nd Amendment and the Bill Of Rights as clear and simple as they could, meaning that every American citizen has an individual right to keep and bear his own personal arms, and also has a right and duty to organize in a militia if needed to protect his family, neighbors, and country. And I believe it's as simple as that.1 point

The problem is that the people who need to understand this are the very ones who wouldn't read it. For them, it is about "feeling" truth. Not actual truth. This makes it relative to their situation in time and space, not a universal truth existent without them.1 point

I saw the Foo Fighters in San Diego around 2003 or 2004. I guy got an stage and Dave starts giving the guy crap for it telling him he must have a large set of balls to jump up on his stage. Dave started ragging him to whip out his balls. Then all of a sudden the guys balls were projected up on the jumbo-tron. Dave cracked up.0 points
