I have decided to move this on to somebody else who will appreciate the beauty of this fine firearm. It has been shot but not much. I do not have the original box. I have the gun and a plastic Colt case. Not really looking for trades. $3000

As far as the 22 situation is concerned a Ruger mk series pistol and Ruger 10/22 rifle are as solid as you can get. To me those are "buy it once, buy it for life" choices. Good luck, there's no shortage of good options out there.

I have an Sig p220R Carry with the DAK trigger. This is the scarce 3.9” slide instead of the 4.25” that is a standard p220. Overall, it is in very good condition the night sights are original and almost dead. I bought this gun new in 2012 because it was one of only a few guns on my agencies authorized alternate duty weapon list. I ended up leaving the agency before I ever got permission to carry it. This model of p220 fits in Sig p229r holsters which pretty much the same size. I have three factory 8 round mags and an Act Mag magazine. Act mags are every bit as reliable as factory Sig mags; the advantage was having a mag that was completely black. Factory box is included. The round count is somewhere around 300 rounds. I need $700 firm for this beautiful Sig. Face to Face in Chattanooga. This is one I swore I would never sell. Every time I pick it up I remember how great it felt in my hand and how bad I wanted this model 13 years ago.

.22 pistol - Ruger Mark 4 or a Browning Buckmark .22 rifle - CZ 455 or 457 or a Ruger American I have a Mark 2 and a Mark 4 and both are shooters. I also have a CZ 455 and it's one of my favorite guns I own. I think CZ replaced the 455 with 457.

I’ve carried a Springfield EMP 4” off and on for years. The EMP action is 1/8” shorter than a standard 1911 because it was designed from the ground up for 9mm and .40 length cartridges. If you want to carry a 9mm 1911, there’s nothing better IMO.

Phil... I like em, but they are big, no matter the barrel length. I think ya can carry em IWB pretty well, but I like em in a leather holster, and a good one at that. I do NOT like the 3 inch guns. They are finicky n only give the " illusion of concealability " as far as I'm concerned. The nines are soft shooting and are reliable ( they didn't used ta be ). The ammo is as good as ya can buy. I've got a Ruger lightweight SR 1911 Commander I carry from time to time, but I'm a " gun junkie ". Fifty or so years ago, I used to regularly carry a Colt 45 Gubt model or LW Commander 44 ACP, both IWB, IWB, n pocket in the hip pocket of Carhartt dungarees and overalls. Be advised, the all steel guns are heavy, and it does make a difference if ya carry em all day. They are an excellent choice if ya practice with em and learn to handle em well. The main drawbacks are price and weight with the all steel guns. All that said, it's awfully hard to beat a single or double stack 4 inch polymer gun. The Glock 43 comes to mind for single stacks, and the Glock 19 for double. If ya have a bit more $s ta spend, the Shadow Systems MR 920 can't be beat as they are a Glock clone with a better trigger n a few other niceties as well. The Smith guns are just as good I think. All the plastic striker fired guns are lighter, less expensive, and just as reliable as anything ever made . I would recommend handling em all.. leroy.

Winchester Model 1903 Rifle for sale. The Model 1903 is the first Semi-auto rifle made by Winchester Repeating Arms Company. They were made from 1903 to 1932. The first 5000 guns were made without a safety (no safety button) and were advertised as "automatics", but were semi-auto design. It is a blowback design with a ten round tube magazine. The serial number and consultation with the Winchester Arms Collector organization indicates this one was made in 1903. I got this from a Winchester collector in Cookeville, TN. Taking another RV trip today. BersaGuy, going to carry my S W Bodyguard 380 (some think mouse gun) for EDC for the next 14 days. Got it loaded with Hornady Critical Defense 90 GR FTX ammo. I am amazed how good that pistol shoots being so small. Can hardly tell itis in the pocket. Having bad lower back problems, as of late, and need to reduce weight I am carrying on my waist. When I get back I am going to shoot some water jugs with several different ammo brands. Going to see which has the best penetration. When I carried the Colt PocketLite 380 I used Remington Golden Saber with a 102 gr bullet. It penetrated 3 water jugs and dented the 4th which is fair for such a small Caliber. That supposedly works out to about 10" of penetration with some expansion. I was firing it through 2 layers of denim and 2 layers of terrycloth. We been going there for years, with friends, and never had any trouble. Do know it can happen that is why the EDC. I am also taking my S W 9 C 2.0 along in the truck and will be in the RV when we park. It is stocked with Hornady Critical Duty 135 Gr. By the way got to teach 3 young boys how to shoot pistols and revolvers last Saturday. They were city boys 16 to 10 Y O. Started them with the 22 revolver, and they were scared of it. Finally, the oldest went for it and the rest was history. Their dad told me, at church yesterday, they couldn't quit talking about the experience all afternoon. Said they did not realize how much fun it could be. Always like to teach newbies. I shot into water jugs to show them what H P bullets did and we talked about that. They were amazed when the 38 Spl bullet hit the first jug and how it exploded. You guys have a good next 2 weeks.

I would just get a 9mm; you both can share something full-mid-size, not compact. Kings has police trades in at a very fair price all the time. Glocks and S&W M&Ps you could also buy secondhand from a member. 308- for the money, I would get a Ruger American Gen 2. HD- Mavericks 88 or a 590 if you can find an old Remington 870. I've been down this path buying my wife something I thought she would like let her pick trust me.

If you want a rifle for home defense, go with a PCC in 9mm or .45. Or a lever action in .357 Magnum (.38 spl) or .44 Magnum (.44spl). Both magnum calibers can and are used for hunting.

Wont know what your handgun of choice is until you try a few. With that said, the Tisas form factor is popular and should work. If you are near a shop which rents guns, try it out first. Try a couple different makes as well

I have AR's in 22LR, 6 ARC, 6.5 Grendel, .223, and 7.62x39. In order of usage time for me (including time spent training) ... 22LR 7.62x39 .223 6.5 Grendel 6 ARC I was shocked at what a 154 gr, soft nose x39 will do to a deer at 100 and under.

I don't think there is a good combination home defense and hunting rifle. Generally a rifle suited for home defense is too light in caliber for reliable hunting of deer sized game. While a suitable hunting rifle is way too overpowered for urban defense. ARs suited for deer sized game will be chambered in other calibers that are both harder to find and more expensive. One of the strongest arguments in favor of the 5.56 is its readily available and reasonably priced ammo. Many years ago in the Army the M-16A1 was a POS. I didn't like it and I didn't trust it. I felt that way for about another 50 years. But around 2018 I finally figured that I should get an AR-15 simply because so many people didn't want me to have it and wanted to outlaw them. So I bought a S&W M&P-15 because it was cheap and reliable. About a year later, I stumbled into a deal on a Colt A2 model that was just too good to pass up. So, yeah, I have two AR style rifles. But the truth is that I don't shoot them much. If the S ever did HTF, my choice of rifle would not be an AR. It would be my M1A. But yeah, I do recommend the every serious gun owner has at least one AR-15 type rifle. If for no other reason than just to piss off the antis.

If I wanted an AR to do double duty as a general defense rifle and hunting rifle up to deer, I would look at a 16” gun in 6.5 Grendel. Ammo isn’t widespread but is available and is in line with the cost of many other AR calibers. It could be handy enough for defensive work but you could stretch it to 300 yards for hunting. I’m not sure why alphabet agencies would show up at your door.

Situations may vary, but most of the time a rifle is not the best home-defense choice. Over penetration is a real concern with the bullet very capable of passing through multiple walls inside the house and exiting the house. Either can strike an unintended target you couldn't see but are still responsible for. It's also harder to move through a confined space with a rifle. The AR platform makes that somewhat easier with collapsible stocks and usually a significantly shorter overall length compared to a traditional hunting rifle. Home layout, construction, and location are variables unique to each person, so YMMV. But an AR-15 is a very good rifle for lots of different things and can be kitted out to your personal tastes pretty easily. +1 to Palmetto State. As for the alphabet folks, there are north of 20 million AR-15s in the USA. They simply can't knock on that many doors. If there ever is a gun grab, it won't come in the form of random door knockers. But if you really don't want a paper trail, buy private sale in Tennessee. A great way to do that is to become a member here on TGO and post a WANT TO BUY ad in the TGO Trading Post describing what you want and your budget.

I personally don’t think too much of AR’s for hunting or home defense if we’re talking .223/5.56mm, but I don’t hunt and in my abode a rifle is inappropriate. If it’s reached obsession point, Just go to Palmetto State Armory’s website and order the cheapest one they have and get it out of your system for $500-$600, maybe less. They make very serviceable, quality, and accurate weapons. Don’t fret about politics, society, or alphabets…that’s all overrated.

If I wuz gonna split between hunting home defense, I would recommend a Palmetto State Arms 300 BO carbine. They are cheap. They work well, and they are a man stopper n light game getter. The price would be low, and ya could save some dollars n buy a good trigger to drop into it ( or any other AR ) and maybe it a bunch more usable for both jobs. The ammo is about as reasonable as 556 if ya shop around. Also, there are states where ya can't hunt large game with a 22 caliber. leroy.

I am about the furthest thing from a Glock "fanboy" as you will ever find. I do own two but that's all. A model 19 and a model 20 which is in 10 mm. Yes, it has big grips, but I have big hands. I did put a Talon grip wrap which gives a sandpaper type grip so it is locked in hand regardless of recoil or sweat. I also have a Trijicon RMS on slide. I gotta say that it has sure done a good job. These pictures were taken prior to the Talon grips being put on.
