  1. I have to agree with this as well. I'll show you my permit, and I'll sign a bill of sale, but no one is getting a photo of my permit or my DL. Sorry.

  6. It’s going to take a while for the expungement to work it’s way through the system(s)...if it ever does. Believe it or not all LEO systems are not interconnected, far from it actually. Expect to be denied, then appeal with the paperwork.

  12. I think your going to be very happy with your choice. Back years ago I had a dog trainer show me how to read a dogs facial expressions and you can get a pretty good impression of the dogs personality. Your pups facial expression is one that shows content and is attentive and will be a smart dog and train well. He's a beauty for sure and your going to have a great dog in my opinion. Oh yea, going out side to go potty will happen. It will just take a little time. Until then you may try paper training him.

  13. If you like to and have time for reading, it's actually the second book in a trilogy. From Here to Eternity is first (mostly just before the war) The Thin Red Line is second (at war) and Whistle is third (their war is mostly over). Since they're a trilogy rather than a series, you don't really need to read them all, or even in order. I enjoyed the second two more than the first.

  14. Tennessee is in compliance. I do see that your first “Real ID” requires you to get it in person; that rules out the Kiosk. Thanks for bringing this up; after Oct 2020 you can’t board an aircraft without this “Enhanced” ID. That’s sure good to know.

  15. Whether or not I know you means nothing. I have been on this forum since it started, but that doesn’t mean I know where that gun is going once it goes to a forum member. If the cops knock on my door and say “We traced this gun used in a crime to Bob. Bob says he sold it to you.” I tell them I sold it to aus174; and they move on to you. If you want to tell them you don’t know who bought it from you….so be it. If the gun was in the hands of a convicted felon, minor, or out of state residence, I have done everything I can do to make the sale legal. I have no way to do a background check, but I can check state of residence and age. If they ask me if I have any proof I checked ID, I present a BOS you signed stating you are legally allowed to purchase a gun in this state. Short of not selling guns; that’s about all I can do. How does a bill of sale help me? Well, in your example of someone being arrested because they sold a stolen firearm with a BOS, if the gun is traced to me and I give the Police all the information they require to continue the investigation; they likely won’t charge me. If I tell them I don’t remember who I sold it to and I’m not required to have that information the outcome may be different. However, we all run the risk of having a stolen firearm pass though our hands. You may know the guy you are getting it from but that doesn’t mean the people prior to him were honest people. However, there are plenty of guns for sale that don’t require a BOS. Those of us that do require one, do so knowing there may be people that won’t want to do that; and that’s fine also.

  16. All I ever ask is that a purchaser have any one of the following: (1) A valid Tennessee HCP. (2) A Tennessee Armed Security License. (3) Be Law Enforcement. That tells me that a background check has already been done. I don't take pictures, I just want to see it and see that it is valid. I won't remember anyone's address, DOB, etc. I can't even remember my own much less anyone else's. Now what were we talking about again????

  17. Verification of identity is one thing. Giving you a photo of my DL that contains my DL number, full name, DOB, and address ain't happening. To me, ID theft is more of a threat than buying a gun from an established member.

  22. In Mississippi, you can legally carry on K-12 and college property with an enhanced carry license. Also, someone in Mississippi with an enhanced carry license cannot get a weapons charge for a 'no guns' sign. A private property owner of course can still ask you to leave and still trespass you if you do not leave. From what I understand about the only place you cannot legally carry there with the enhanced license is an actual courtroom (the courthouse is ok) and maybe police stations and prisons. People can take the same 8 hour classes in Memphis that people take for the Tennessee handgun carry permit class and get a Mississippi enhanced concealed license. Regular licenses in Mississippi do not require training but do require background check and fingerprinting. You can also carry concealed there without a license as long as the handgun is in a holster. The enhanced license bill in TN would be a good deal if it legalizes K-12 and college property carry and removes the no gun sign weapons charge.
