  3. I met Blackburn way back when she was in the State Legislature. She is a really nice lady to talk to, but at the end of the day, she's a politician through and through. About all I can say about her is she's better than the one she replaced. Might want to give her a little time though, the US Senate has a way of turning otherwise decent people into the scum of the earth. I mean, I can pretty much name on one hand who I'd consider decent senators, I wouldn't classify hardly any of them good or great.

  4. This Saturday the Chatuge Gun Club in Hiawassee Georgia is holding two NRA Lever Action Metallic Silhouette matches. One match will be the lever action pistol cartridge match and the other match will be the lever action smallbore match. Practice starts at 10 am and the first match will start at 11 am. Matches are free. We do not charge a match fee at the Chatuge Gun Club. Show me a club that holds NRA matches that does not charge a match fee. Awards are given out after the match along with five in a row/ ten in a row pins. After the match a group of shooters go out to eat. It is a family affair with Silhouette shooters. We have fun and love to shoot. Bring a lunch; we take a lunch break between the two matches. Also, Chatuge Gun Club will have NRA Hunter Pistol Metallic Silhouette (pistol cartridge/straight wall pistol cartridge) and NRA Smallbore Hunter Pistol Metallic Silhouette (22 lr/Smallbore) matches during the lever action matches. A third and fourth relay will be added to each lever action match for pistol shooters. Pistols can have/be open sights, scopes, and/or red dots type sights. 12 inch max barrel length with a safe trigger. Course of fire is the same as lever action. You think you are good with a pistol come out and find out the truth. We put new shooters with an experience shooter to show them how things are done. We don’t throw you into the deep end. Metallic silhouette shooters and matches are easy going. We have fun!! We help new shooters to learn the sport. We have a mix of males, females, and kids shooting the matches. It is a family fun shooting sport. See my other posts for detail information of NRA Lever Action Metallic Silhouette shooting. See http://www.chatugegunclub.com/index.html for information about the Chatuge Gun Club. Hope to see some new shooters.

  5. It's a 7 shot, 3 inch that is chambered in .32 H&R Magnum. Now my question is why wouldn’t you go just a smidge longer and chamber it in .327 Fed? https://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2019/03/18/charter-arms-professional-reveal-at-concealed-carry-expo/

  6. Definitely check out AIM surplus for magazines. They have the 7 and 8 round mags for $16.95. Most other placers are $20 and up and $30 for the 7 round. I picked up a first gen recently and ordered a couple extra mags right away. Its a great little shooter and super easy to conceal! link for convenience: https://aimsurplus.com/smith-wesson-shield-9mm-8rd-factory-magazine https://aimsurplus.com/smith-wesson-shield-9mm-7rd-factory-magazine -southernasylum

  7. That applies to renewals, not new “CCW’s”...whatever those are.

  8. .32 S&W (short) works in .32 S&W Long that works in .32 H&R Magnum that works in .327 Federal Magnum. If you're talking about .32 ACP that might work as well but you'll probably have to poke the shells out with a stick of some sort.

  9. Ok that's actually really cool looking...but I do wish it was a 327...then you could also shoot it or 32's...right? I just got to remind myself I don't need another wheelgun...or any gun for that matter until I start shooting more.

  10. I also have used PSA and gotten some good deals, especially on 5.56 ammo.

  11. I should have mentioned PSA as well. They have very frequent specials ("Daily Deals" I think they're called) with free shipping.

  12. In the Samsung Smart Things product line, they sell a water detection sensor and a water main shutoff motor. You can link them together thru the app to shut off the water if any water is detected.

  15. Call an independent agent to shop some rates for you. You don't have to go to their office. They can do it over the phone and email you quotes. Then you'll know if AllState is anywhere close to the others and then you can make an informed decision.

  17. The replies are pro forma, and each Congressman or Senator uses part of their office budget to reply to inquiries. They're handled by low level staffers, or even interns, even if it gets an autopen signature. You could have asked anything about the 2nd Amendment, and you would have gotten the same reply.

  18. It sure looks much better than all the canned anti gun letters I used to get from my representatives in Oregon when I used to live there. Keep writing! I'm sure one of her interns has taken note, extracted your concerns from your correspondence and added that data to a graph or pie chart that she reads once a week or so. As cold as that sounds, don't be discouraged. No matter how she digests the information the important thing is she actually hears and sees that we are paying attention. You got me motivated anyway!

  19. Just in case anyone needs to know. When you have a record expunged in Tennessee, the state MAILS the orders to TBI and they have up to 60 days to remove it. The mailing process is slow, as we found out. My husband called them on Wednesday to ask how long and was told that if the state had FAXED it, it would have been removed in hours. He told them he had a copy of the orders and could he fax and was told yes. He faxed them at 4:15pm with a cover sheet with his name and phone number. Then on Thursday morning he got a call at 8:15am and was informed that they got the fax and removed it. He asked about the FBI and was told they removed it the same day the state does! We wasn't sure, so he decided to wait 24 hours. Friday morning, he went to Academy Sports, picked out a Glock g43x and submitted the paperwork for the nics check. 15 minutes later he legally purchased his first handgun and skipped off out of the store grinning from ear to ear! Once in the truck, he scheduled his ccw class for this morning. Needless to say, after having a felony since he was 20 years old, 30 years later and he is no longer a felon. Thank you all for your interest and feedback. I hope this helps anyone in the same situation. The attorney we used is Daniel Horwitz in Nashville. Highly recommended.

  20. I bet it’s actually a pretty sweet shooter. Rarely do you see actual stainless frames. Charter Arms has always produced a dependable, value priced revolver. They’re not light, but that steel soaks up recoil pretty well. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend one. I’ve known many a tackle boxes that have held old .38 Bulldogs with the round or two loaded for moccasins.

  22. 1600 yards is beyond the effective range of a 308. Think more around 900. Past that, you are going to go transonic lose a ton of accuracy. While you may be able to consistently ring a gong out past that, you wouldn't be able to depend on that in a hunting situation.

  23. Our attorney confirmed that his felony has been completely expunged, and locally there are no records of it. He said it will take about 120 days until it makes it from the state level to federal. Just in case anyone else needs to know in the future. Of course your milage may vary. Thanks

  24. It was a white collar crime. No drugs or violence.

  25. It might be worth a call to your local ATF field office to ask if there's any way to speed up the passing of information between government bodies in order to lower the chances of a false denial.
