-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Last week I bought a 2010 F150 4x4 without talking to my wife and she was really ticked off. Even after I explained I did it this way for her. Here's what I mean. If I had mentioned it first we would have argued and she would have been all stressed out. then I would have bought it anyway and we would have argued again thus causing her more stress. This way I cut her stress in half. Even after explaining it it took a few days to get out of the doghouse. I just don't understand.1 point

Women often receive warnings about protecting themselves at the mall and in dark parking lots, etc. but this is the first warning I have seen for men. I wanted to pass it on in case you haven't heard about it. This will only become more commonplace. A 'heads up' for those men who may be regular Lowe's, Home Depot, or Costco customers. This one caught me by surprise. Ladies, please let your husband/partner know of this scam. Over the last month I became a victim of a clever scam while out shopping. Simply going out to get supplies has turned out to be quite traumatic. Don't be naive enough to think it couldn't happen to you or your friends. Here's how the scam works: Two seriously good-looking 20-something girls come over to your car as you are packing your shopping into the trunk. They both start wiping your windshield with a rag and Windex, with their tops almost falling out of their skimpy T-shirts. It is almost impossible not to look.. When you thank them and offer them a tip, they say 'No' and instead ask you for a ride to McDonalds. If you agree, they get into the back seat. On the way, they start undressing. Then one of them climbs over into the front seat and starts crawling all over you, while the other one steals your wallet. I had my wallet stolen Sept 4th, 9th, 10th, twice on the 15th, 17th, 20th, 24th & 29th. Also on Oct 1st & 4th, twice on the 8th, 16th, 23rd, 26th & 28th, and three times last Monday and very likely again this upcoming weekend. So tell your friends to be careful. What a horrible way to take advantage of older men. Warn your friends to be vigilant. Wal-Mart has wallets on sale for $2.99 each. I found cheaper ones for$1.99 at K-Mart and bought them out. Also, you never will get to eat at McDonalds. I've already lost 11 pounds just running back and forth to Lowe's, Home Depot, and Costco.1 point

Decide which one's more important, the gun or visiting D.C. You can't legally do both. Go and enjoy the place. Leave the gun at home. The park police do a great job of keeping the tourist areas patrolled. Treat it like any other city and don't be stupid. The murders and things you hear about in DC are not normally in the parts of town a normal tourist would find themselves in. Be smart. Don't ride the subway at 2am and things like that.1 point

I went with the 20" barrel as the best compromise between maximum velocity and good handling. My upper is from J&T and has been very accurate and reliable. I've had it about 18 months and it has given me no problems at all. http://jtdistributing.net/store/page170.html I've shot a lot of the Wolf Gold, both the 120gr MPT (400rds) and the 123gr SP (200rds). I got just under 1moa with the 120gr, and about 1.5moa with the SP at 100 meters. I won't be buying any more of the SP as reports are that the MPT is an excellent hunting cartridge for deer and hogs. Some folks complained about cracks in the necks of the Wolf cases after one reloading. I have not yet reloaded any of mine more than once, but have yet to see any cracks in the necks. Wolf is supposed to have inexpensive steel-case plinking ammo early next year. If they can keep it under $6/box, I'll probably stack it high. I am really sold on this cartridge as the best all-purpose round available for the AR-15 platform.1 point

I will say this: Romney seems to love this country for what it was meant to be. Obama seems to love this country for what he would like it to turn it into.1 point

I thought Mitt did well. Clearly better than Barry. Folks, please get out there and vote for Mitt. Staying at home or voting for some 3rd party is just giving Obama your vote. We cannot have another 4 years of Obama.1 point

I used to avoid listening to Obama's speeches. Now, I look forward to the next one. Here is something to help make Obama's speeches almost tolerable. Just print this page, distribute it to friends, then tune in to his next speech........ Rules for Bull#### Bingo: 1. Before Barrack Obama's next televised speech, print your "Bull#### Bingo" 2. Check off the appropriate block when you hear one of those words/phrases. 3. When you get five blocks horizontally, vertically, or diagonally, stand up and shout "BULL####!"1 point

Why waste my time when I can read about it on here later and get a condensed load of BS instead of the whole shebang.1 point

Obviously you have never drank alcohol or you only drink to get sloshed. Beer, wine and liquor are consumed mostly for the flavors. A beer or two for dinner. A glass of wine with chicken parm. YUM! Wine is used to make sauces and gravies. Liquor is used to make desserts. Non-alcoholic drinks like beer and cider do not have the same flavors as alcohol. That's why most people do not buy the non-alcoholic versions, not to mention the lack of variety. Well, that's why you're wanting to legalize it...1 point

Personaly, I think the use of pot leads to the use of more "hard core" drugs. At least that's what happened to my friends. Pot was one of the worst things to ever happen to me! Dave S1 point

I've learned two things from these post so far; Romney is going to tell the truth and Obama is going to claim to be a victimized black president. Two things that have never happened. I expect a lot of finger pointing and out right lies from both of the clowns on display tonight. Neither will produce results. Its all about claiming a title. Either way half the country will pretend to be happy for four years and the other half will start a new 48 month cycle of bitching. Good luck !1 point

The debates are a joke. The debate committee is set up to only allow 2 parties to participate and the FEC facilitates this faux democracy. This whole system is like the mafia.1 point

I absolutely plan on watching. Much like voting I feel it's a duty. All loose objects have been removed from the room to prevent hurling something that might break my big-ass TV.1 point

120 grain range bullets are pretty much the standard. Though you shouldn't have a problem with pretty much any standard bullet weight. The 120's will be be fine with that twist. By length, I assume you mean barrel length. Plenty of folks use a longer barrel to wring every last bit of velocity out of the Grendel. It depends on what you're going to use it for. If you want to hunt, 24" may be a bit heavy, depending on the profile. But if you're main interest is shooting paper, especially at longer ranges, a 24" barrel is well-suited. Personally, while most of my shooting is at paper (never from a bench though), I have an 18" barrel. When I get back to hunting, I'll want the lighter barrel. I originally bought a 28" barrel a few years ago when nothing else could be had (post-election panic) and cut it down to 18". I think I only lost about 100 fps velocity. Well worth it to me for a much handier barrel length. I built my wife an 18" and my brother a 16". Are you fireforming cases, or buying factory? Just curious. When I got into the Grendel, fireforming was the only way to get cases in a reasonable amount of time. Now brass is (or was) easily available. Have you been over on the Grendel forum? Plenty of good info and good people over there. http://www.65grendel.com/forum/ While I'm not the all-time Grendel expert, I'm certainly a Grendel Nut. So I'm happy to discuss all you want. My biggest suggestion is, Cry Now. Not later. If you skimp or cut corners you will be disgusted with yourself later. It'll hurt like hell but spend the money and be happy for many moons and thousands of zombies to come. Been there, done with that.1 point

I thinks it was more or less saying CI was/is running around without a lot of training.1 point

What am I missing here? It sounds like an audit turned up some weak practices in their training and procedures and they are suggesting changes to correct them. If this is about "Why does the IRS have guns? They're going to use them with the 25 bazillion bullets DHS just bought!!! OMGWTFBBQ!!!!1!!", if I was having to go knock on someone's door while running a criminal investigation, I'd be armed and trained too.1 point

We always discuss any kind of major purchase. I bring in most of the money but I'm horrible at managing it, she however is really good at managing money. If I want something I tell her and she investigates whether or not we can afford it. If not she usually gives me some options like I can sell X or I can probably afford it in a certain period of time. She likes me to be able to get whatever it is that I want and helps me do it responsibly. If she wants something she asks me if she can buy it. She never asks for much so she usually gets whatever she asks for. We also don't have any debt.1 point

The Kingsport BMA voted unanimously to keep city parks, greenbelt, etc open to legal carry. Apparently, their phones rang off the hook yesterday. http://tablet.olivesoftware.com/Olive/Tablet/KingsportTimesNews/SharedArticle.aspx?href=KPT%2F2012%2F10%2F03&id=Ar00104 What I find interesting in the article is the assertion that it was not the intent of the Parks and Rec Adv Cmte to have carry banned in city parks: 3 years ago, that same body voted unanimously to recommend banning firearms in all parks and associated areas (a ban which was supported by police chief Gale Osborne). That recommendation was also defeated by unanimous vote by the BMA.1 point

That has nothing to do with race. It has everything to do with a consistently leftist government elected in those cities and states. The fact that there are a lot of minorities there means nothing. The same could be said of many other cities with a large population of black Americans: Atlanta, Memphis, Birmingham, Jacksonville and so on. All these cities allow their citizens to carry a firearm if they meet the legal requirements. The fact is, in the areas you speak of the government doesn't want ANY of its citizens to be armed, regardless of skin color. The only part I agree on is that the elitists are the only ones allowed to carry a firearm, or have an armed personal security detail. Sorry, I won't support any cause that continues to support the myth that because I'm white I receive some sort of preferential treatment. I've worked hard to get to where I am, and it was without help from anyone.1 point

First off you brother going anywhere to confront anyone is a bad thing. Might be a por choice of words on your part but going looking for a confrontation is never going to end well. Perhaps the two gentlemen knew there was about to be a confrontation and they intervened to protect the girl your brother was going to confront. Your brother must have exited his vehicle if the adults were able to assault him. Exiting a vehicle when you have two obviously unstable men is not good judgement. Best to stay in the vehicle unless firearms are involved then a car is a death zone and you need to get out. Now with that being said no person has the right to place their hands on someone else, especially an adult on a child. I am sure the alcohol affected their judgement. Sounds like the two older guys decided to open a can of "woop ass" but unfortunately they probably spilled it on themselves when they did. As far as the officers go they should have at least filed a report. Then your brother could use that report to go sign a warrant himself. The officers making a recommendation to not file charges does not mean that your brother cannot. But realize it will be a "he said", "she said" court case and with no impartial witnesses the court will likely toss it out. Not really sure how I would handle it but it sounds like you brother was not hurt physically so that is a non issue and the guys got what they deserved. As far as the vehicle damage, file with your car insurance and get it repaired by the other guy's insurance. Dolomite1 point
