(long pause) . . . Most women are not going to want to see your gun on a first date. Get to know her better before you show it to her. Gradually, especially if you're gentle with her, she may be willing to touch it, and, even later, make it shoot. If you're previously divorced, you probably know that after a certain amount of time, some women might want to take your gun away from you and lock it in a little box, or only let you use it when she's in the mood, or after you do some sort of favor for her. Hopefully, you'll find out early enough whether or not she's actually just jealous and wants one of her own, for the sense of power it gives her, or whether she's willing to share yours, which seems to make most couples happy. Of course, if you share it with her, you'll probably be the one who ends up cleaning it. I hope I'm being clear enough here. I am thinking that if you treat all kinds of guns with an appreciation for their power, that you introduce her to them with patience, that you use them respectfully and with finesse, and are willing to share them when she's interested, that shooting guns together will make both of you very happy. . . . Very, Very Happy.4 points

I've heard the arguments back and forth on the moral decline of our society, the Judeo-Christian ethic, whether or not we were founded on Religious principles, and whether we were a humanist secular nation or a Christian nation and up to this point it was mainly academic with pointers going in both directions. Last night I saw it quantified. How any one could vote for and not see through a thinly cloaked avowed socialist who has proven that his ideology is divisive and destructive can only mean one of two things. Either Americans are not very bright or we have ceased to be a culture that looked out for his fellow man and are willing to burn it all to the ground as long as we get our Union pensions, welfare, cell phone, government checks, and healthcare, Two things that became reality last night: 1. We are no longer a Judeo-Christian nation and govern by the principles of our founding fathers and documents. 2. The secular-humanist now outnumber the conservatives. You can argue that these are good things, but every part of our society that is measurable would refute that claim. You can argue that we are progressing, yet every quantifiable measurement would deny that. We only have to look at the history of those who have gone before us in Germany, Russia, Italy, Greece, France, China, England, Spain ........... Argue what you may, but the moral decline in America is now quantifiable and present. We have stripped the values of our founding from the highest levels of authority and this is what we have been left with. This is not fatalist, but I propose we let the socialist have full economic control and let them finish what is unavoidable. By fighting it we only prolong the pain and suffering that is inevitable. When it is in ashes and the people cry out for redemption, we rebuild from the beginning, fresh and new. My 2 cents or 1/2 cent once inflation catches up.3 points

The U.S. has two entrenched, systemically corrupt political parties, whose positions are often indistinguishable, and which together hold a monopoly on power. Sheesh. While I am certainly no Iran apologist, would we not try to shoot down another country's drone if it was flying over our soil? Fellas, all of this neocon foreign policy adventurism is one of the reasons the Republican party is in the toilet. FWIW, the Obamaphone is nothing new, although it is more frequent in its usage. The original program was Lifeline and it was created under the Reagan administration. During GW's term, cell phones started to be handed out. The whole thing is more entitlement freebie bs, but at least be fair in your criticism.3 points

At least two members here have mentioned they've been laid off this week. HvyMtl, you need to let all these companies know how well the economy is doing, and maybe mention what a great deal Obamacare will be - that being the impetus for these closings. Show 'em some cherry picked graphs, that'll do it. The second order effects, companies shutting down or downsizing due to losing corporate customers and the hit the economy is going to take just before the new taxes cut in are really going to be dramatic.2 points
Senator Dianne Feinstein Moves To Ban ALL Assault Rifles, High Capacity Magazines and Pistol Grips
I can definitely understand the pistol grips ........ very, very dangerous. They alone are responsible for countless killings and should be outlawed! How rediculous! I'm so sick of this crap. I wish the great leaders of this country would put this kind of effort into something a lot more helpful like ridding our neighborhoods of illegals, meth-heads, drug dealers, rapists, thugs and child molesters. Oh, wait a minute ....... what am I thinking? Those are the majority of voters that they count on each election. Defending this country from enemies, both foreign and domestic, is defined by our 2nd amendment rights. It's what made us who we are. Who in their right mind would even consider taking that away.......... I vote we send anyone who pushes these types of senseless bans over to the front lines for 6 months to a year and have them face to face with real killers. I bet they crap in their pants and go into the fetal position. Don't sit behind a cushy desk telling us, the sheeples, what works best. Get your ass out in the real world for a wake-up call. I will preface this by saying, I met my wife at a mutual friend's house where a bunch of people had gathered to do some shooting. With that said, the first date we went on, I picked her up, and before I backed my truck out of the driveway, I said something to the effect of, "I just want to let you know, I carry a gun all the time, pretty much everywhere I go. If that is a problem, we should just quit now." She later told me she appreciated that, and she was glad I carried all the time. It makes her feel safe. If you feel strongly about carrying, there is no reason not to be up front and direct about it. Lay it out there from the word go, and there will never have to be a question about it.1 point

Just one of many examples of why I think a felony conviction should not preclude legal firearm ownership forever. If someone is a danger to society he should still be IN JAIL. If he is no longer a danger to society and has served his sentence then I think his rights, including 2A rights should be restored. Someone who once committed a felony should not, in my opinion, forever lose the right to defend his life with the best tools we have available (which right now is a firearm...maybe someday it will be ray-gun).1 point

I think this guy gets it. THIRD-PARTY PIPE DREAMS: I saw a Facebook post that argued that all the presidents on Mount Rushmore were third party guys. This can hardly be true for George Washington who had no party affiliation. Political parties were in their infancy when Thomas Jefferson was elected. It seems a new party was being started every election cycle. Jefferson belonged to the Democratic-Republican Party that he organized along with James Madison in 1791. It stood in opposition to the Federalist Party and dominated American politics from 1800 to the 1820s. The Republican Party, founded in 1854, was strictly a northern party that had success broader than the presidency. “t enlisted former Whigs and former Free Soil Democrats to form majorities, by 1858, in nearly every Northern state.†Try getting conservative evangelicals, libertarians, and various factions within the Republican Party to get a new party started. Do you recall that during the primary season that as each Republican candidate bit the dust, their supporters made it clear that they would not vote for one of the other guys. If there’s one thing liberals can count on. Their supporters will stick with them through thick and thin. Look what happened to Todd Akin when he slipped up on a question about rape and abortion. Desertion and derision from enough Republicans that he lost the election. No matter how bad it got for Elizabeth Warren, the Democrat Senate nominee in Massachusetts, the Democrats never deserted her. They stuck with her through thick and thin. She’s now a senator. Theodore Roosevelt ran on the Progressive Party ticket, but he had national name and political recognition. He had been elected President in 1904 and had been a Vice-President before that, having become president after William McKinley was assassinated. In the 1916 election, however, Roosevelt supported the Republicans. How many people has the Constitution Party gotten elected? One. In 2006, Rick Jore of Montana was the first candidate elected to a state-level office. Good enough until the Constitution Party of Montana disaffiliated itself from the national party a short time before the election. These third parties are an embarrassment. Even so, I’m supposed to vote for a third-party guy out of “principle.†The Constitution Party’s 2012 presidential nominee was Virgil Goode. Goode had a long history of electoral experience. He served as a member of the United States House of Representatives representing the 5th congressional district of Virginia from 1997 to 2009 as a Democrat. In 2000 he switched to the Republican Party. Then he lost his seat in the 2008 election to a Democrat. Goode then joined the Constitution Party. Mr. Goode is probably a very nice man, but he had no business running for president. Goode received 98,755 votes nationwide. In reality, America’s problem is not political parties; it’s the people. They want what government has to offer. Until the people change, we will not see an appreciable change in politics. http://politicaloutcast.com/2012/11/third-party-pipe-dreams/#ixzz2BeOl5I9j1 point

For me the ease of casting 30 caliber bullets, over 223, is why I chose it. Another reason is you cannot push a cast .224" bullet fast enough to operate an AR without leading issues. The casting thing goes along with my 9mm, 38/357, 44 and 45 caliber bullets I cast. If I run low on 30 caliber bullets I just melt down some other calibers. This cannot be done with 224 with intent of shooting out of an AR. Right now the ONLY bullets I buy are for my 223. Every other caliber I shoot I cast for. So for me the only limiting factor is primers and I have enough to last me a while. For me to shoot the 300 I do not need to buy bullets. This eliminates one more thing I need. Dolomite1 point
