1. Here's some food for thought....   A LITTLE BIT OF HISTORY TO THINK ABOUT.......December 29, 2012 marked the 122nd Anniversary of the murder of 297 Sioux Indians at Wounded Knee Creek on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota. These 297 people, in their winter camp, were murdered by federal agents and members of the 7th Cavalry who had come to confiscate their firearms “for their own safety and protection”. The slaughter began after the majority of the Sioux had peacefully turned in their firearms. The Calvary began shooting, and managed to wipe out the entire camp. 200 of the 297 victims were women and children. About 40 members of the 7th Cavalry were killed, but over half of them were victims of fratricide from the Hotchkiss guns of their overzealous comrades-in-arms. Twenty members of the 7th Cavalry's death squad, were deemed “National Heroes” and were awarded the Medal of Honor for their acts of [cowardice] heroism. We hear very little of Wounded Knee today. It is usually not mentioned in our history classes or books. What little that does exist about Wounded Knee is normally a sanitized “Official Government Explanation”. And there are several historically inaccurate depictions of the events leading up to the massacre, which appear in movie scripts and are not the least bit representative of the actual events that took place that day. Wounded Knee was among the first federally backed gun confiscation attempts in United States history. It ended in the senseless murder of 297 people. Before you jump on the emotionally charged bandwagon for gun-control, take a moment to reflect on the real purpose of the Second Amendment, the right of the people to take up arms in defense of themselves, their families, and property in the face of invading armies or an oppressive government. The argument that the Second Amendment only applies to hunting and target shooting is asinine. When the United States Constitution was drafted, “hunting” was an everyday chore carried out by men and women to put meat on the table each night, and “target shooting” was an unheard of concept. Musket balls were a precious commodity and were certainly not wasted on “target shooting”. The Second Amendment was written by people who fled oppressive and tyrannical regimes in Europe, and it refers to the right of American citizens to be armed for defensive purposes, should such tyranny arise in the United States. As time goes forward, the average citizen in the United States continually loses little chunks of personal freedom or “liberty”. Far too many times, unjust gun control bills were passed and signed into law under the guise of “for your safety” or “for protection”. The Patriot Act signed into law by G.W. Bush, was expanded and continues under Barack Obama. It is just one of many examples of American citizens being stripped of their rights and privacy for “safety”. Now, the Right to Keep and Bear Arms is on the table, and will, most likely be attacked to facilitate the path for the removal of our firearms, all in the name of “our safety”. Before any American citizen blindly accepts whatever new firearms legislation that is about to be doled out, they should stop and think about something for just one minute- Evil does exist in our world. It always has and always will. Throughout history evil people have committed evil acts. In the Bible one of the first stories is that of Cain killing Abel. We can not legislate “evil” into extinction. Good people will abide by the law, and the criminal element will always find a way around it. Evil exists all around us, but looking back at the historical record of the past 200 years, across the globe, where is “evil” and “malevolence” most often found? In the hands of those with the power, the governments. That greatest human tragedies on record and the largest loss of innocent human life can be attributed to governments. Who do the governments always target? “Scapegoats” and “enemies” within their own borders…but only after they have been disarmed to the point where they are no longer a threat. Ask any Native American, and they will tell you it was inferior technology and lack of arms that contributed to their demise. Ask any Armenian why it was so easy for the Turks to exterminate millions of them, and they will answer “We were disarmed before it happened”. Ask any Jew what Hitler’s first step prior to the mass murders of the Holocaust was- confiscation of firearms from the people. Wounded Knee is the prime example of why the Second Amendment exists, and why we should vehemently resist any attempts to infringe on our Rights to Bear Arms. Without the Second Amendment we will be totally stripped of any ability to defend ourselves and our families.

  2. True or not, I don't give a flying you-know-what. Our right is recognized by the constitution, and executive orders aren't a trump card. Yep, a lot of people have paid more than they might have otherwise - hey, elections have consequences. Way I see it, though, there are hundreds of thousands of new owners with skin in the game. The scalpers that bought for resale can take it in the wallet, for all I care, but the newbies now have a vested interest in safeguarding our rights.

  3. Okay, no more ammo at Walmart.   So, please, all you Knoxville area folks please don't even look there for any.   As a public service, I will periodically stop in there and check to see if the rumor is true.   - OS

  5. You know, I don't get real upset when I hear a liberal say "You don't need an AR or AK to hunt <animal of choice>."  Figure that just goes with being a Liberal and fairly ignorant and mostly stupid.  The ones that piss me off and I mean REALLY PISS ME OFF, are the small minority of hunters that post that garbage online or stand up in front of a microphone and spout that nonsense!!!  They are so moronic that they think nothing will happen to their firearms.  They think they will never be next, which I think is a bunch of hogwash!  They tried back in the 1960's to have rifle scopes declared illegal after after that nutcase shot all those people down in Texas with a hunting rifle.  And the Libs are always going after the hunting rounds because of lead.  These people better wake up!  Cause they are next!!!

  6. From what I can gather, "the militia" is every able bodied male citizen in the United States. I will go a bit further than most, and state that it is my belief that it is one's civic duty to own and be proficient with a firearm.   This is as revelent today as it has ever been. This is evident in the fear shown by politicians toward law abiding gun owners.

  7. I'm fine with what I've got and will be fine for a while with my casual shooting frequency. stocked up slowly and steadily the past few years, then turned it up a good bit in the fall which was good timing. Not buying anything at these prices. One thing I've learned from this is that things can change so dramatically and quickly it'll make your head spin. We had two years of relatively stable prices and plentiful supply of guns, mags and ammo, then bam! All gone in a week. Next time it could be oil or food.

But  every new gun sale , every new NRA member every email ,letter or call to your elected leaders send the message that we are informed and ready to dispute the false facts and stand up for our rights . Anyone with the hopes of re election knows it would be political suicide . Everyday that passes will make it that much harder for them to get it passed . Don't give an inch , make the calls and send the emails .

  10. I really believe the Obamatrons got a wake up call when they started talks of bans and registrations etc., then witnessing all the "newbies" and oldies completly drain most the products of an entire industry in just a month, and I bet alot more pro-freedom minded people like us are making a big serious stance of resistance in telling their Reps what they think, more then we realize. I think "they" are realizing that the gun-control they wish for is going to cost them a crap load of problems they don't want.   That and James Yeager scared the hell out of them.  :)

  11. As one who does not believe that I should have to have the government's permission to have and/or carry a firearm, I disagree with the notion that background checks are a crime deterrent.   Criminals who want guns will get them regardless of any type of required background check, so a system that requires the average law-abiding citizen to obtain the state and/or Feds' permission is simply a waste of time and money. It surely does provide the gubmit with some good revenue, however.

No craziness, no foam around the mouth, just straight jabs until the opponent is out on their feet and she won't scuff her heels or smudge her makeup while destroying you.

  13. Pain med's are a scourge on society. How you regulate it and actually make a difference I have no idea.   People who legitimately need pills will suffer for not being able to get them.  Pillheads will still find a way to get their fix.   I am not sure how more laws will fix much of anything.

  14. I'm not really concerned about the shortage, but I do find it aggravating to go to a store for something and see a bare shelf. What is going to be interesting is when something happens that causes a food shortage like this. I don't believe the population in general will be as patient and understanding as the shooting community.   I don't really understand why companies keep unveiling new models when they can't keep up producing existing models.

  16.   The issue is the state is prohibited from taking any action that would have a 'chilling effect' on his first amendment rights....   None of us have a right to a drivers license, but if the state denied or revoked a drivers license based purely on content of protected speech, that would be a clear violation of Yeager's first amendment rights.  (note it has nothing to do with the 2nd amendment).   If the only reason Yeager's permit was pulled was because of the video, and IF that speech was protected speech, then any negative action by the state because of that speech would violate his first amendment rights.  Since the speech in the video doesn't appear to rise to a level of criminal behavior under TN law, then the speech is by it's very nature protected.   A perfect example of this would be the KKK, and their desire to 'adopt a highway'...  Sponsoring a highway is not a 'right', yet it is a violation of the first amendment (and others) to prohibit them from 'adopting a highway' because the state (or employees of the state) disagree with their protected speech.  Before you say, oh that isn't a violation, 8th circuit ruled it was, and SCOTUS let the ruling stand.   So, do you see the logic behind the potential violation?

  17. All this talk about rights to free speech being violated and whatnot, can someone please point out how any of his rights were violated? None of us, including Yanker, has any right to carry a firearm in the state of Tennessee. Don't like it? Well, me neither, but that is reality, and therefore his right to due process was not violated. He'll probably get his permit back since he was juuuust smart enough to get a lawyer and listen to him (this is after he said "f**k you in a YouTube video at everyone who advised him to retract his earlier statement and shut his mouth; I guess he didn't say the same thing to his lawyer).

I can't stand his lies and propaganda. The lap dog media won't call him on it, Fox is getting weak kneed and the uninformed sheep   in this country are oblivious to what these temporary politicians are doing to them. We as gun owners and patriots need to educate the uninformed, disconnected, and low information voters  as to what these statists are doing to our country.

  21. One sure way to know is just to watch the ammo case. Not for ammo but just to check and see that the case is still there. Walmart is not the kind of business to let any realestate go to waste. If we start seeing glass cases full of scopes, binoculars, knives, what have you, then it might be legitimate. I'm still not holding my breath.

  22. There are a llot of pro-2A folks out there that voted for hussein with the belief that he would not go after guns. Now that speculation is gone as he has revealed his hand, and hopefully those people have realized the consequence of the last election. With any luck, these sheep have had their eyes opened. Also, if as many people that are buying guns/ammo will contact their reps, that has to send a strong message. I agree that Hussein does not care about that message but those up for re-election in 2014 might.

  23. Yes, that is exactly what I meant.  Folks, I've been seeing quite a few posts like this.  There was at least one in the Knoxville News Sentinel, today!  The other side wants to divide us on the 2A.  That's why Biden met last week with hunters and sportsman groups separate from the NRA other National Firearms Organizations.  That's why you keep seeing the Administration, Diane Feinswine and her ilk keep saying they are not against hunters and hunting nor are they interested in banning hunting weapons. They are trying to divide us and when a hunter pipes up says stuff like "You don't need an AR15 to hunt deer", it damages our cause!  And it makes me see RED!!!  I'm not condemning all hunters.  I hunt myself, but I also target shoot and I have firearms to defend my family and I.  I just want the ones that say stuff like this to quit doing it.  Seriously, if they are able to implement an AWB, then scopes, multi-shot pumps and bolt actions are next folks.  Feinswine wants them all gone!  I heard her say in 1995 on 60 Minutes!  She said it and she meant it!

  26. I've been thinking about all of the possibilities of what could happen, what might happen, what should be the outcome, etc. I've come to the conclusion that the media is the problem and the enemy. The media needs to be cleansed. They are corrupt, inept, incompetent, have an agenda, and are merely the extension of the liberal Democrat party. They are where 0bama, Dems and whining liberals get their power. Imagine the past 30 years with an unbiased media who actually reported the news objectively rather than creating "news" or covering up the truth. The so-called "media" is absolutely FULL of lies. The lies MUST STOP! The media must be cleaned up, perhaps by force if necessary. They are the crux of the problem in my estimation. They constantly lie and are not held accountable. They are given a pass. Their falsifications MUST be exposed and stopped. They are what have enabled 0bama and those like him. They are give him power. The power that they derive from their offices is very weak compared to the power that a lapdog media gives them. This is where the battle is in my opinion. Food for thought.

  33. I agree with this statement partially. You see I don't have a different set of rules for different sides of the political spectrum. I actually have a naive view that people should try to do the right thing in all cases, but I'm probably alone in this. This was definitely a top down decision and it was definitely meant to quell Mr. Yeager's speech. The folks who made the decision are very smart people who know the law (DOS Commissioner Bill Gibbons' wife is a federal appeals court judge and he is a former DA) and know that what they did is illegal. However, they also know (unlike regular citizens) there is no penalty or consequence built into the law for this illegal action. So, unlike you and I, they may wantonly violate the law without any fear of personal penalty. I personally find that to be far more dangerous and distasteful than anything Mr. Yeager did. Unlike Mr. Yeager, who somewhat acted out of stupidity, this was a calculated action made by the government itself.

  34.   Nah, they said they pulled it for that. They pulled it to quell more anti-gun bad press from it, as the legislature will have it's own firearms PR battles to weather during all this.   If ya'll can get off the Spartacus-esque "rights and freedom" issue for a bit, you'll see that this is a good thing.   Seems obvious to me that the TN political conservative majority, such as it is, is trying to help us keep our frigging guns.   - OS
I don't think its gonna matter how polite we try to be there still going to try to get our firearms.   http://cnsnews.com/blog/charlie-daniels/precedent-teaches-us-left-really-wants-all-our-guns
We are losing the fight in regards to public perception because gun owners like this are playing checkers while the gun grabbers are playing chess. Little stunts like this, and the gun owners that support it, show how short sighted the gun owning community is. This is why we are losing.

I'll be making stickers.  Not going to be making anything else.   No offense but that's why I stopped doing swag in the first place.  One or two items wasn't enough; soon everyone wanted us to basically have a TGO Pro Shop and all I heard was "If it came in black..." or "If it was a can coozie instead of a key chain..." or "If it came in my size...." so I just f'ing quit doing it.   I'm not Wal-Mart.  TGO is what I do in the evenings and weekends when I should be spending time with my family.  It's not a full time job.  It'd have to be a full time job to do half the crap people want.   So... stickers.  That's it.  Not going to be anything else for the imminent future.

  39.   Yep.   CNN is lunatic left if could have been judged from the 50's, far left from the 60's-70's.   I think it was pretty well centered for a while after it began in the 80's, moved further left in the 90's, and stayed there -- which is now about as centered as any MSM out there. Sadly true.   I keep telling folks to watch a bit of MSNBC weekday prime time now and then. You've got to know the face of the pure enemy. I personally think MSNBC may have delivered most of those 4 million votes for BHO.   - OS

  41.   Wow, dude... sometimes I think you're completely blinded by Lady Liberty's knickers or something.  This is really simple:   Tennessee issues Handgun Carry Permits which authorizes citizens to go armed in public. James Yeager has one of such permits issued by the state. He makes a threat that he's going to start killing people.   The above are facts.  Now, let's venture into What-if-ville...   Suppose the State doesn't revoke his permit despite him being on the record with those statements. And then suppose he drives to Nashville and guns down an elected official.   OR... Suppose he's in a diner in Camden, hears someone spout of Anti 2nd Amendment rhetoric, flips his shit and shoots them.   Do you think for a second that the State wouldn't get sued for empowering him to go armed?   They HAD to revoke his permit.  Period.  End of story.
    1 point
  42.   If he committed a crime, charge him and his permit would be revoked automatically as part of the criminal charges....  Otherwise it's protected speech (which I think it clearly is), and to revoke his permit based on protected speech is a clear violation of the 1st amendment.

  43. And then there is Dissent that Destroys. To understand Obama...., Study Alinsky. Obama first learned Alinsky’s rules in the 1980s, when Alinskyite radicals with the Chicago-based Alinsky group Gamaliel Foundation recruited, hired, trained and paid Obama as a community organizer in South Side Chicago …In 1988, Obama even wrote a chapter for the book “After Alinsky: Community Organizing in Illinois,” …he traveled to Los Angeles for eight days of intense training at Alinsky’s Industrial Areas Foundation. In turn, he trained other community organizers in Alinsky agitation tactics. Obama also taught Alinsky’s “Power Analysis” methods at the University of Chicago. Saul Alinsky wrote that the key to weaken — then take over America, its economy and its people — is to “destroy the middle class.” Alinsky advocated use of class and race warfare. He believed that “wealth redistribution,” taking from those who work and giving it to those who don’t, is the catalyst to bring down the U.S. economy and free-market capitalism. After four years in office, Obama is well on his way to doing just that. Alinsky’s socialist guidebook is embedded in Obama’s record of economic policies that he has visited upon all Americans and their families — specifically the “middle class.” This is who Obama is. This is his radical ideology.
