I an tell you authoritatively that if I see any ammo that David makes available to our members so that they and their kids can actually shoot for sale anywhere, we're going to have a big issue! David and I have had this conversation multiple times. He makes this ammo available to our members so that kids can continue to learn to shoot. And, I'd encourage you to think about that a little bit. If you're hoarding all your ammo and not getting out and shooting - who's teaching your kids to be responsible gun owners? Shooters can be gone in a generation if we don't support it at home and support the programs like the Boy Scouts that teach kids to shoot. I have ammo set aside, but I also have a deal with all of my friends - that if they're not going to teach their kids how to handle a firearm, then just ask and I'll be happy to teach them how to safely interact with one. And, if I use my last round of .22LR doing that - that's okay.5 points

If I went to a gun show and saw .22 ammo for sale with a sign that said 'reserved for <some group of people>' I'd be asking how to become part of that group and thank that vendor for taking care of his supporters. What happens at these ammo counters in the backs of stores is not the same thing.5 points

I would highly recommend you don't use David as an example. He is very well-respected around here.5 points

A man boarded an airplane and took his seat. As he settled in, he glanced up and saw the most beautiful woman boarding the plane. He soon realized she was heading straight towards his seat. As fate would have it, she took the seat right beside his. Eager to strike up a conversation he blurted out, "Business trip or pleasure?" She turned, smiled and said, "Business. I'm going to the Annual Nymphomaniacs of America Convention in Boston " He swallowed hard. Here was the most gorgeous woman he had ever seen sitting next to him, and she was going to a meeting of nymphomaniacs. Struggling to maintain his composure, he calmly asked, "What's your business role at this convention?" "Lecturer," she responded. "I use information that I have learned from my personal experiences to debunk some of the popular myths about sexuality." "Really?" he said. "And what kind of myths are there?" "Well," she explained, "one popular myth is that African-American men are the most well-endowed of all men, when in fact it is the Native American Indian who is most likely to possess that trait. Another popular myth is that Frenchmen are the best lovers, when actually it is men of Jewish descent who are the best. I have also discovered that the lover with absolutely the best stamina is the Southern Redneck." Suddenly the woman became a little uncomfortable and blushed. "I'm sorry," she said, "I shouldn't really be discussing all of this with you. I don't even know your name." "Tonto," the man said, " Tonto Goldstein , but my friends call me Bubba."4 points

Yeah we do ... the ammo and guns. Especially the ammo. Hell, the US would be crippled if all Chinese goods were curtailed suddenly. Likely crash our economy; only a small segment of our society could afford to purchase US replacement goods, which in many cases simply aren't currently available either. Would be nice if we could get Chinese arms and ammo too. - OS4 points

+1,000 There are some that no matter what happens they must have day to day drama to make it through the day. They constantly bitch about anybody and everything just to make themselves feel better. I guess because they are so miserable in their own skin that they must try to make everyone else around them feel the same way. Integrity in a business is what makes a great business. If you lie, cheat or steal, like CTD and now Academy, to get ahead then you should not be in business. And if you are one of whose who thinks it is OK to lie, steal or just be an underhanded crook to get ahead then you don't deserve anything but a 8x10 cell for the rest of your life. That brings me to something I have said over and over again. David, DLM37015, has more integrity in his little finger than 99% of the businesses operating these days. He is honest, knowledgeable and does right by his customers 100% of the time. And not only when people are watching but when no one would even know. I have seen him make a problem right even when it wasn't his problem in the first place. And why does he do this?, because he cares about his customers and considers most of them friends. And this sense of feeling welcome by David, as well as being taken care of, is what makes his customers come back. We are all exclusive members of a club called "TGO" so if he wants to pass a deal on to the members here so be it. Plenty of businesses, like Sams and Costco, do it so no one should be condemning David for trying to take care of our community. I promise you will not meet a nicer guy to do business with and he consistently has the best prices anywhere. I have known David for about 8 years now and have never heard or met a customer of his that was unhappy.4 points

Phone call to Corp offices and was given a Reference # and was told that this situation is being emailed (per my request) to the regional, district, and loss prevention managers and I will receive a call from some one in a day or two to let me know what they find out. So we will see what happens.4 points

I'm a member of several local Facebook gun trading pages. I don't know of a better outlet to catch a deal from time to time. Of course there is plenty of over priced junk to wade through to find the deals. I was late on the draw the other day and missed a 10/22 for $125. These gun trading groups are private groups with moderators, anyone can join and the mods can delete users they see fit, not that it is a fool proof system, but neither is TGO or any other outlet for that matter. Facebook is not evil if you don't do stupid things with it, it's a good tool. The people that bad mouth Facebook are most often just like the people that bad mouth guns, they are unfamiliar with it and are ignorant about it so in their minds it must be bad.3 points

This move could be an economic nut kick to Russia in the end. They lost $60billion when the markets opened yesterday. Plus sanctions could really hurt them as they import a vast majority of their products. I think the "right move" is to stay out, let the UN watch for war crimes and let the Ruble collapse to nothing. In the mean time we need to get someone with balls in the White House. You don't have to use the big stick very often if people are scared you might. Right now Obama can't even find the stick.3 points

I am sure I have had something or other lost by the USPS at one time or another but nothing stands out. what does stand out are two instances of excellent service. About fifteen years ago I mailed a package to Chicago from Boca Raton. Just regular mail, it arrived the next day. And last year my 90 year old alzheimer's Dad mailed a birthday card to me. I wish I still had the envelope to post a pic of it. It was addressed to Mr. Mike ( no last name at all) my address only had part of the street name, my town was there but no zip code. Some how it found its way into my mailbox. There had to be several postal employees who went above and beyond to get it to me. He did have a return addy sticker so the easy way out for a handler would have been to return it. But no, somehow it made it from Cincinnati to my house. All I could figure was someone at the Corryton PO figured out the street name and my letter carrier must have recognized a Cincy return address from previous mail Dad had sent me and knew it was mine. The old man died back in September, it is the last piece of mail he will send me. Wish I had the envelope but I still have the card. The USPS gets a thumbs up from me.3 points

Since the newest coin was 1894, I doubt if the previous owner(s) are still around ... I don't know anything about California laws on found items on your personal property. I don't know anything about Tennessee's laws on this subject either. But I can promise that if I were to ever find anything like that, there won't be internet posts, forum threads, interviews or any other public information about it ...3 points

I was killing time this morning so I decided to go in for my dose of dissapointment of not getting 22. I went back to the gun counter and a saw 50rd boxes of 22, 2 box limit but hey 100 rd for $5otd. I asked the guy at the counter if that was all the 22lr they got in, He said "yeah we haven't seen bulk 22 for a while". I took my 100rd and started looking at some guns and 2 guys walked up and started chatting up the guy behind the counte like they were old friends. I didn't think anything of it until I heard one of the guys asked "do you have it back there" they were wispering as to hide what was going on. Then the guy behind the puts up a Bucket o Bullets and a box of 1000rd box of M-22. I heard the tal on make a comment on how much these get online and the all got a laugh from that. I got pretty pissed right then and there so I snapped a pic of the guys he was talking to(see below)The tall one in Green and the girl in the . he handed them over the counter they walked up front. I went and found the manager and told her what happened and she seemed pretty upset about it and immediately went back to the gun area. I don't know if she actually talked to them or if anything will come of it but I think I might stop spending money there for a while. It is 4 hours later and I am still pissed. I will say I don't know if they came in before me and it was being held behind the counter for them but I suspect if he was lying to my face that was probably not on the up and upI am sorry if these guys are members here but this is more of a bad mark for Academy. I blurred the face of the guy that had nothing to do with this.2 points

Dustbuster, I really doubt the 24th district is proceeding recklessly on this case. It has touched many hearts and received lots of national attention. Hansel McCadams (24th District Attorney General) is not scandal free during his tenure, and I'm sure he would like to get reelected this August. He's smart enough to know that putting a "patsy" on trial for the highest profile abduction case in Tennessee is not a good way to keep his job. How exactly could the charges have been anymore detailed? Especially aggravated kidnapping and first degree murder - do you know of a way to elaborate on those? I don't think the TBI is going to provide public discovery of the evidence before the accused has even been arraigned. It's not the role of the TBI in the first place. What evidence is released to the media at this point is up to the DA. Also from what I understand the accused was not Holly Bobo's neighbor. He lived 14 miles away with his grandfather. Let's take off the tinfoil hats and pray for justice and the Bobo family here. I have a feeling they've got their guy.2 points

I am a member of a local FB group that buys and sells guns. I have not seen any issues come up as of yet. There are some deals there too but you have to be quick on the draw. I missed a Marlin lever gun in 45-70 that sold for $300.2 points

I do, but I will not post it. I have an open complaint with the corp office and I am giving them a chance to fix the situation. If he is fired, it would be useless to post his name. If nothing happens then I won't go back and it really doesn't matter to me anymore.2 points

Only way to make this work, is to prohibit government employees of the state or any subdivision of the state from enforcing federal firearm laws a crime. Then allow citizens to go before a judge to start criminal procedures against any state employee who violates the law. If the feds want to run over the 2nd amendment, the least we can do stop helping them with our state taxes. The fact is if we refused to cooperate with the feds they wouldn't be able to come into TN and enforce anything on their own.2 points

the one here in chattanooga has been a very good place for me. They seemed to be selling the ammo on a first come first serve basis and fairly at a fair price. They have also been helpful in many other ways --- I wish they had reload supplies and more selection, as I would support them more. As - is, all they really have that I want is .22 LR, the occasional target or widget, and maybe someday a gun but most of em are kind of mid-grade stuff that I just don't want or need (im at the point where new guns are carefully selected and usually not mainstream). Could be that one has a bad manager or a couple of bad employees. But I would not hold this against the chain any more than you can hold all McDonald's to blame because one moron forgot you put your fries in the bag. If you reported it to the manager, and nothing changes, find the district manager and so on. Someone up high cares..... I can assure you, and if the same tale comes around enough times someone will be held accountable for it.2 points

I'm a bit surprised that anyone would use Facebook to sell or buy a firearm...equally surprised that a company like Facebook wouldn't just delete such posts automatically. :shrug:2 points

Well after listening to all the BS from the politicians they didn't change this brave mans mind and he stood his ground as any true American should and I commend him for his actions and his voice. You can bet many politicians are worried right now in CT if they stood in support of the unconstitutional laws they passed in CT because they can almost be guaranteed they will be packing after the next election. They have made their beds and I hope they all are laying in the after the elections. The People in Colorado made their feeling quit clear when they wrote unconstitutional laws there. The had a re call and got those politicians removed and the laws changed. I have noticed that many politicians are doing their damn-est to avoid and dodge any 2nd Amendment discussions as they begin to get ready to run for November midterms. I think their constituents should hammer them on these issues until they either have to answer the questions or drop out. I also think they should be told if they say one thing and do another after elected that they will be recalled. It's time the people took back this country from the liberal maniacs that have no business holding a job beyond garbage collector and I was going to say Dog catcher but don't want to insult that public position. I am sorry I used garbage collector because really I have more respect for them also but needed something to compare them to........................... :rant:2 points

I worked a deal with a local gun shop for some .22LR. They held some for me at pre crazy price. My wife has some coworkers at school that had been looking for .22 for months. The only thing they could find was the high priced internet stuff. My wife asked if I could help so I pulled some strings. The .22 is going to a group of kids from her school that are finally going to learn how to shoot. (well some of them already know how) I don't even care if I get paid back. From the outside and not knowing all the facts someone could have thought I was some A-hole reselling on the net. I rarely care what people think of me, but I know a bunch of kids that think I'm cool.2 points

I'm guilty, ninety-nine percent of the time I have a weapon within arms reach of me. Except when going to shower or taking care of my bid-ness. My bid-ness has been known to change the color of the bathroom walls, involuntary nose hair electrolysis and vapors even corroding rubber, plastic and especially metal. I've never had a problem while on the "throne". It has repelled family and friend alike for decades and I see no reason why my perfume would not repel anyone else? I'll personally play the 99 - 1 odds and not taint my weapon. Many a friend and family member has gone to the E.R. with internal nose trauma :up:2 points

I sell health insurance policies every day that do not conform to the ACA mandates. I can sell them cheap enough to justify the $95/1% fines for not having a govt approved plan and give customers a much better plan. The people this doesn't benefit are the sick people who are uninsurable and need the ACA plans that don't underwrite their policies any longer. The others that think they are getting a deal are the ones who get subsidies. Well guess what? yes they get a plan for free or cheap but when they need something covered they still have a $6k deductible to meet the ACA plans are no win for everyone!1 point

Doesn't make you a bad at all. If anything you bring normalcy to a retarted situation. I figure there will be cloth for the rest of my life. A good rag, and nasty as it is, wash them if you do not have enough for a disposable supply. Hopefully you have a crank operated or something washer of some sort. With any luck, you will have plenty of disposable though, a single empty home probably has 5 years worth in old clothing, rags, bedding, etc.1 point

A moose "push" to the head with a moose hoof could kill you. The guys likely wearing a helmet but could still be kicked in the throat or chest. A broken collar bone wouldn't be much fun either. One thing I can bet, once you've been pushed once I a moose I'm sure you'd be very keen on not having a repeat performance. Still doesn't change the fact that I think the whole thing could have been handled better and again, probably avoided all together.1 point
