  3. Wowser, that really delivered IMO!   That first scene at the killing trough was as freaking chilling as anything I've ever seen on the whole series!   - OS

  4. Because the Republican leadership who begged gun owners to help them gain control in the state government, claiming they are 'on our side,' aren't really 'on our side' any more than are their Democrat counterparts.  Haslam was a member of Bloomberg's "Mayors Against Guns" group (oops, that's supposed to be Mayors Against Illegal Guns.  Yeah, right.)  Harwell seems have done everything she can to see that many pro gun bills don't even come to a vote and Ramsey got the so-called 'parking lot bill' gutted at the behest of his big business puppet masters (such as Fed Ex.)  Quite the track record for people who claimed to be 'on our side' and whined that if we would just put them in charge they would support and advance our gun rights.   I think that the money probably did have at least a little to do with it, too.  It isn't like politicians have to choose between 'being greedy' and 'backstabbing the voters'.  They can simultaneously do both quite efficiently.

  11. Here's mine, I built it on a custom made trailer that swings down for transportation and raises to what you see, it's 5x8 x 12' high and has 2 swivel desk chairs inside, pretty comfy when the heater is on

  12. shot some through the new pistol build to see if it cycled last Sat.  Actually felt something this time.  Wasn't recoil obviously, but there was a slight aggravation pulling the trigger on .22 for first time in my life.

  13. Do me a favor and keep me posted on how the crossbow hunting goes (range, effectiveness, etc). The reason for my curiousity is, I'm trying to think through some things but im thinking about trying to set up hunting opportunities for disabled vets. It would be a lot of work because I'd have to prep a lot of property in order to have enough locations that I could give as many opportunities as I'd like to. I've got plenty of people that would be willing to go out on the hunts with them if there were enough interest to need to be multiple places at once. I'm trying to think through all possible disabilities so that I can make provisions and not have to turn anyone away. I'm not sure that I could even get everything ready in time for next season due to the costs and labor involved. Maybe I can get at least enough done by next season to be able to take 5-6 guys out just to give it a trial run. I'm sure a standard compound bow would be out of the question for some of these guys hence the interest in the crossbow.

  14. Here's a pic. from my buddys huntin house, that let me use one day last year. There wer 16 turkeys all together that day and 5 were Toms. Iwatched them come out in the field just left of the pines you see. They came straight over towards me up to about 35 yds. then turned and went off toward that last one on the right. Fifteen mins. later while the trukeys are still scratchin around in the field, 11 does come out. Well all I can say is that only 10 left.

  15. Here's one of my huntin houses, I built this as a playhouse for the kids when they were younger. Approximately 10 yrs. ago. my son was the one that painted it. It had been sitting in the back yard since then, well three years ago I put a new floor and a door, and bingo daddy'd new huntin house, aka La Casa. Here's the view out the north window which is the side of the house you see. and to the south, took this one last year while huntin.

  16.   you can't do that right now.   Look at your load data, memorize the 10 or 15 powders (or make a list of them for quick ref) that work with 9mm (for example) --- when you see one of them, buy it.   It all goes bang.  It may not all be the best possible bullet you can craft, but passing up a vat of AA #7  because you wanted win 231 or power pistol is silly when the shelves are bare.

  17.   Also, there are a lot of attention seeking people out there that would love the drama.

  18. if the south is so bad why do they retire here. i am 77 years old and cannot remember anyone saying they are retiring and moving north. i have NO tolerance for people that move here and try to change it into the crappy place they left. that goes double for immigrants from any where in the world.

  19. I thought the episode was excellent. Definitely have upped the gore factor a touch with the trough scene ... And how awesome/terrible were the fire zombies?!? Anyway, after last season I had given them 1 episode to keep my attention, and they succeeded, so I guess I'll keep watching.

  21. Haha, it said in the article that if this was a live round it would have "taken the ambulance apart". Apparently their explosives experts were all trained in Hollywood. These must be packed with the same explosives found in grenades that make people fly through the air. "Tactical nuke 40mm round, 1 each". Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  22. This story seems to use wording to make you think it was a big deal. you know right off the bat if its a practice round or HEDP or whatever else it might be. Seems to be blown way out of proportion.

  24. We all know better but I got complacent and broke a bunch of my own rules on this one.  For the past 10 years my EDC has been a Glock or a 642, both of which are going to function flawlessly 99.999% of the time.  Fire it, carry it around, throw it in the dirt, carry it around, clean it bi annually and it should be good to go, no worries.  I bought a Taurus TCP a few months back from a close friend.  (Buying a Taurus, first rule broken, which I don't regret.)  I've been carrying this gun around for say 4 or 5 months and honestly have not had a chance to shoot it.  (Not shooting a gun before carrying, second broken rule.)  Since I have not fired the gun I haven't cleaned it at all.  (Third rule broken)  The gun has spent most of the summer bouncing around in my work truck which is a very dusty, and dirty environment.    So finally last weekend I fired the gun and found it to be a complete jam-o-matic.  So I took it home gave it a through cleaning and polished the slide and the feed ramp.  Took it out yesterday and she ran like butter!  We all know that pocket guns are finicky but I have to forget the Glock mentality and make it a point to clean this gun at least once a month for now on.  The gun is actually a pleasure to shoot, it has a wonderful trigger and I was hitting cans every shot at 10 yards, not bad for a pocket gun at all.  I believe that there is no perfect carry gun, each one has its pros and cons but I'm very happy with this one.  Just have to make sure that it stays clean.   So people, please, if you haven't fired or cleaned your carry piece lately, take the time to do so.  It may save your life.

  26. It is a sad state that our society finds it more acceptable for someone to behave in an unsafe manner than a person who tells them to stop behaving in an unsafe manner. Folks wonder why there are so many people who act with zero regard for others. The reason is no one has ever told them they are wrong. Good people have no backbone nowadays, and the few that do are chastised for being hotheads; as if they are the problem. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  27. I was at the indoor range at Ashland City today. There's a shop there that sell new and used weapons. I picked up and handled an M1 Garand rifle. I don't remember it being that heavy while carrying one during Army basic training in '62. It was an amazingly accurate rifle at long distances.  It was really neat firing rifle grenades from the Garand at rubber tanks downrange, and the bayonet training.  Just touching this one just brought back some great memories.

  28. It definitely wouldn't be something they'd get up and walk away from if they survived. I was just pointing out that they aren't as damaging and explosive as they are made out to be in this story or in Hollywood. A regular frag grenade produces more, and deeper penetrating shrapnel than one of these. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  29.   After all the stats and statistics heavy classes I did in college...that's pretty accurate. Remember, if you don't like the results from your sample, just throw it out, start with a new sample, and burn any left over evidence.

  35. Yep, remember there was another episode (in Season 4 I think... or maybe 3?) where Carl and Rick had a run-in/meeting with him. He was in that town all by himself, and recounted how he didn't have the nads to pop his walker/wife, which ended up causing the death of his son. And yea, Jericho was awesome, and he was great in that, too. I keep trying to get other folks to watch that series. It's all on Netflix now.

  37. Anyone dead set on coming to my house unannounced better be better armed than me. The first reported case in Tennessee means anyone who comes a knocking is infected in my mind. Not going to take a chance on getting sick just to be nice. No one will be coming in my house. And trust me when I say I would prefer not to litter my lawn with contaminated blood either.

  39. Snapped a couple pictures today in between the 40 million rain drops I tried dodging, but to no avail! First one is looking behind my tree, couple little trails that are used sometimes. Haven't seen but one on it so far this year. 2nd one, I snapped this because someone else did a "down the sights" pic and I thought it was cool. Thanks for the idea! 3rd one, directly to the left of my stand And finally, my front view. Hopefully I have a view of this with a deer in it soon! LOL

  42.   It's very frustrating my friend. I had Graf's drop several backorders on me this past year...such is life...but my memory is long...   The positive side is that I've developed handgun loads with powders I had never even considered using it the past. My chronograph has paid for itself several times over this past year. LOL

  43. If you are going to cast I would look at powder coating the bullets. Makes the alloy less critical. Powder coated bullets run cleaner than plain cast or jacketed. You can push them as hard as jacketed in most calibers, definitely in 357 magnum, and the best part is you can color coordinate your bullets to what you are wearing that day.

  45. That's not good advice for someone living in a sub-division. Any and every deer shot with a broadhead has to be blood trailed. Any other ideas ? Apparently you aren't very experienced at bow hunting....just saying.   Dave

  46. Ever drug a dead deer out of *another* neighbor's yard?  I bet it could get dicey with a hysterical housewife in robe & slippers screaming while on a cell-phone with po-po about a bloody deer in her driveway.  (not that I wouldn't hunt)

  48. I keep reading comments on their Facebook posts from pro-freedom Colorado residents who feel "helpless" and ignored by the elected representatives, stating that they try to call their reps and are told that they can't leave messages, or email and fax and received canned responses thanking them for their concern.  There, like most places, the people are being ignored and the politicrats are doing exactly whatever the hell they want to do and continue down the road of passing laws that people don't want.   So my question is... what does that leave?  When the vermin that infect our government systems refuse to do the bidding of the people who elected them and put them there, what now?  Sure you can vote them out of office at the end of their term, but how much damage can they do in the meantime?  Once freedoms are stripped away it's almost impossible to restore them.   I hate to be that guy, but I'm seriosuly starting to wonder when folks are going to hit their limit and start voting with deeds instead of words.  There are already posts on Magpul's FB page from people who say they are 5th (and longer) generation Coloradans who refuse to tuck their tails and flee to another state but desire to stand and fight for their freedoms.  Things really could get interesting within our generation.
