  2. I am getting one for $269 + tax but I can't say from where. Yes it is perfectly legal what I am doing but I am unsure if I am getting "special" pricing. Should be in my hand for under $335.   Thanks guys.

  3. Open carrying? Or visible under his clothing?   Bad place to attempt either. But if you just gotta carry there...cover it well.

  4. It’s Tennessee LEO’s that are doing it here. They shouldn’t need the Feds to tell them its wrong; the Tennessee legislature needs to follow suit and ban the practice.

  9. Why didn't the crappy team just throw in the towel?  Why didn't the officials just stop the game?   Suspending the winning team's coach is ridiculous.  Sounds like the only thing he could have done was take all his players off the court and let the losers play with themselves.

  10. The common cause seems to be an arrest that doesn’t show a disposition somewhere. I was arrested for having a gun in my car in Illinois many years ago. The charges were dismissed. I purchased guns in several states over many years before making purchases in Tennessee. Of my first several purchases here I was refused twice. Both were appealed and went through in two days. The first time I thought it was just a mistake; because it was approved so quickly. I called the TBI and the woman told me she couldn’t tell me why I was refused. The second time it happened (not the next purchase) I called the TBI again. The woman told me it was because something Illinois was reporting, but she wasn’t allowed to say what it was on the phone. I told her of the arrest, that it was dismissed, and even if it wasn’t it was a non-disqualifying misdemeanor. She replied with “We don’t know that.” I said, “You don’t know it’s a misdemeanor?” she said “No, we know it’s a misdemeanor, but it could be a felony in Tennessee”. She said that when checking on the appeal they found I was okay. She couldn’t tell me why it went through okay on other purchases. My daughter is a Probation Officer in Illinois and her boyfriend was an Illinois State Trooper. He checked and said Illinois didn’t report anything to them other than a speeding ticket. That led to think it was the FBI database. They wanted $25 for a background check. It was $30 for a C&R license and I knew it would show up there if there was a problem. It did. The BATF sent me a letter I needed documentation on the disposition of the charge before they could proceed. I talked to the person handling it and he said the gun charge was not reported by Illinois, but was showing up in the FBI check with no disposition. My daughter went to the Circuit Clerks office to get the documentation. The woman gave it to her and gave her a second copy; she said it has happened to her husband a couple of time and might happen again. She said she would resubmit the disposition to the Feds and that may fix the problem. It seems to have fixed the problem. She did that, and I submitted it to the Feds and got my C&R; no problems since.

  11. Unfortunately, this has been the mentality of our presidents and military commanders since WW2.  We can't go in and utterly rout the enemy; that would be too barbarian.  We now go to war to end them, not win them, while the enemy just waits us out.  I know it's apples and oranges in comparison to a basketball game, but the principle's the same.  You don't compete unless you're willing to go 100%.

  12. The ONLY gun I have with a brace is my shorty AK that I carry with me EVERYWHERE and that will not change. I will still carry it and I will still have the Sig brace installed. And if I HAVE to shoulder it in a life or death situation then I will deal with the ramifications of that. I will not give up an advantage that might save my life.

  20. I use this, just a very small dab sprayed on finger, then wiped on the case.   I keep a cotton rag in my lap & wipe after sizing. Fairly neat & tidy.   http://www.midwayusa.com/product/204960/frankford-arsenal-case-lube-8-oz-pump   I bought two bottles about 7 years ago, and half way through the first.   Dolomite has a homebrew version of this as I recall, from lanolin & alcohol.   B.

  21. Okay, where's the punch line? I've lived in LaVergne for 23 years and my son was born and raised here. We have the highest water bills in the south, a ton of section 8 houses that have been abandoned, that or more that are empty from foreclosure and crime after crime that never shows up on the news. Not to mention the sign at the city limit should read "WELCOME TO LAVERGNE, THE NOLENSVILLE ROAD OF RUTHERFORD COUNTY"

  22. Takes a bit of work, thinking about & shopping around, but I managed to convert my Hog Hunter to a 10-speed for well under $300 Accurate Mag bottom metal & magazine $205 Take-off non accustock from eBay $44 Half an hour dicking around with a milling bit because the stock is for a bottom bolt release.....et voila. This would've been a great budget build....had I not dropped & yes, smashed, the scope.

  23. Seems this is just for existing members, and I guess all of us get notice in mail, but thought I'd mention it. Haven't bought any guns in a while, so found myself flush enough to have no excuse for finally doing it. :) A "$129 value rolling duffel" comes with it, which is bound to be worth at least 25 clams or more, too. ;) Online link: https://www.nra2015.org/ - OS

  25.   The losing coach needs to accept that some things in life just won't go his way.   The winning coach pulled his starters, what more did the State of California expect him to do, start making baskets for the opposing team?       My daughter starts competitive league soccer this year. This is her fourth year playing. If her team gets steamrolled badly like this, I hope that she, and her coach are smart enough to use it as a learning experience to see where they went wrong, and improve upon that. Without whining about life being unfair.

  27.   I imagine lots of vids and still pix are disappearing from all over the web, eh?   Of course, just how is this new "mandate" supposed to be disseminated to all the folks who have purchased them? "Ignorance of the law is no excuse", but of course the law has not changed.   This is not even an official "ruling", and indeed the last one of those on ATF rulings page is from July 2013, but of course there have been any number of newer ones, including one already in 2015 (regarding 80% lowers).   What responsibility do the makers and retailers of the various braces have to communicate this to new buyers. Do they have any responsibility to try and communicate this to previous buyers?   Etc.   Maybe some activist will show up outside Max's office building in Martinsburg and shoulder his braced pistol for a while to see if he gets arrested to get this thing rolling. ;)   - OS

  28.   I'm guessing you will never go to prison. Now, if you shoot the gun from the nipple (as suggested earlier), that's a different story. That is called nippling, and is as illegal as it gets, especially with a Sig brace.

  29. So aside from an ATF agent seeing you shooting the weapon, how can it be proven that you used the brace improperly?

  31.   Well, I do have a Sig 556r that I bought with an and Arm Brace. and I put one on a PAPM85. So I guess I could worry about it or just wait and see what happens.    The M85 wouldn't be too bad as a straightforward pistol, but that 556R is one heavy sob as a pistol form.   So, I guess my answer would be no for now.

  32. I think it is wrong for any coach to not let his players play to the best of their abilities against opposing teams regardless of the score. In the end it will be a bad lesson to teach young people. The lesson that the other team should have learned is try as hard as you can and win or lose by 1 point or 150 points, you put forth your best effort regardless and be proud of that fact.......................jmho

  33. I'm still soldiering on with an original 5D. I also have a couple of mk2n's that I just can't bring myself to part with. Really like full frame but I also liked the 1.3 factor sensors. The few (admittedly rare) times my wife has made a comment about spending money on guns I go get some of my camera gear out and start playing with it. My progression has gone from hard core jeeps to deep down the sports photography hole to firearms and training. Each move has cost less...

  34. I haven't got a CZ pistol yet. I did get a chance to get a 75 B SA all sweaty and fingerprinted a week or two back though, really sweet piece. I get why you all are so attached to them, it was a gorgeous pistol and felt like a natural pointer to me. If I didn't have a few too many things brewing as is I would be sorely tempted to snag it up.

  36. I LOVE this though. http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2015/01/16/company-that-provided-guns-for-taken-3-does-more-than-talk-after-reading-liam-neesons-fiery-anti-gun-rant/ PARA USA regrets its decision to provide firearms for use in the film "Taken 3". While the film itself is entertaining, comments made by its Irish-born star during press junkets reflect a cultural and factual ignorance that undermines support of the Second Amendment and American liberties. We will no longer provide firearms for use in films starring Liam Neeson and ask that our friends and partners in Hollywood refrain from associating our brand and products with his projects. Further, we encourage our partners and friends in the firearms industry to do the same.

  40. They can confiscate anything they want if they are investigating a crime. The problem comes into play when they are asked to explain any RAS or PC that a crime was or is being committed. This is a black eye for law enforcement and as I said here before; you can lay this right at the feet of the Police Chiefs and Sheriffs that participate in it. Good cops don’t do this and good department heads don’t allow it.

  46. I have to say that if I was the buyer I'd be a little reluctant to respond to this type of post. Worst case is the seller wants to obtain and record my personal info or pass it on to other parties, or maybe has seller's remorse and wants it back, or maybe the feds have come to talk with him and he's dragging me into it, etc etc. Best case is that maybe the seller found a box, booklet, or some other little thing and wants to pass it along. Not sure why you are trying to find the buyer, but if it's for an innocent or positive scenario I'd suggest that you explain that in your original post, otherwise it looks pretty suspicious and isn't likely to motivate the buyer to jump up and respond for an unknown and potentially bad outcome.
