How about WE, as in staff, use the feedback system we have. If a member decides to be a turd behind the scenes leave him a negative feedback. With everyone having positives a negative would really stand out. We already have it in place and other members can see the feedback unlike our warning point system. Or if you want you can turn me loose on them. I don't care what they do to me as I already have experience in dealing with internet turds and have all the time in the world to hold them accountable.5 points

I would say the same thing about people who follow grown men playing silly games with a ball. Many people find fictitious things dumb or beneath them but sports are equally worthless. It's all pass time. If it makes you happy (and it's legal) it's all good.3 points

I always throw stuff like this up when folks say doesn't matter who's president. SCOTUS is ever so barely currently "for" gun rights (and even Scalia has opined that perhaps not every type gun is guaranteed by 2A). But imagine the changes the next four (and probably eight) years will bring in the court's makeup, with about half of them likely to leave by then. Though it's not a sure bet exactly what overall tone a court with 2-4 more appointed by a Republican prez, it's a damn sure bet what tone it'll be if same is done by a Dem like Hillary or Bernie or even Uncle Joe. It'll go so far left you'll need a 10x optic just to see it at all. - OS3 points

So I am thinking about starting a TGO Hall of Shame upon which I will post the names of members who have, for various reasons, earned themselves a public shunning. Extreme? Hear me out. :) Every so often I have to spend an hour or so of my time in email and on the phone fighting to keep $20. Because every so often someone buys a Benefactor membership here, uses it to post some ads in the Trading Post, and then goes to PayPal and disputes the charge saying that we charged them without authorization. Bear in mind that we do not do automatically recurring subscriptions for this precise reason. I never want TGO to automatically debit someone's account and be the reason why they overdraft at their bank, or can't buy groceries or put gas in their car. An unexpected debit could easily cause any of those scenarios to play out. So when someone buys a Benefactor membership, it's not a mistake. They did it willingly. And as most of you know, a Benefactor membership on TGO has some pretty immediate value and perks, the least of which not being the ability to use our Trading Post to post advertisements. Which means that anyone who summarily demands a refund from PayPal is essentially trying to defraud TGO and "screw the system", so to speak. And that's why I am tempted to start a Hall of Shame. Because if you're willing to rip us off, everyone ought to know it. What do you guys think?2 points

Thanks for the feedback so far folks. I'm not going to carry through with the idea. It was cathartic to just get it out of my system.2 points

I read the article that Oshoot posted and in one of the replies, a person stated that they that statement was referring to her and Carl being able to sneak out of the compound so easily with all of the blindspots available to them. That does make sense. It was only she and Carl in the room.2 points

Did anyone catch the little gal Carl is buddys with slip of the tongue? She said WE. "There's too many blind spots. That's how we were able to...." Then Carl cuts her off. She's a mole. Tell your little girlfriend goodbye Carl. If your old man finds out, she's toast.2 points

I don't know why you would say a Phoenix is junk. I have owned 3 of them and none of them were junk. Each one was very accurate, never had a FTF and would shoot about any ammo out there. I have one right now and still shoot it often at the range with zero problems. The only issue I have with them are they do have more safeties than I like on a gun but that would be my only complaint....JMHO2 points

I see no point in shaking up or changing the system because someone wants to pull a scam; I would deal with them and move on.2 points

Back when I was fishing with my son in law we only used Seven Points launch ramp because it is well lit at night. Also when I would approach the dock to load at 1 or 2 AM I would do a scan of the entire parking area and woods around it before letting my Son In law out on the dock to get the trailer. In case I have not shown the front of my Skeeter on here I have a pair of Airliner Landing lights mounted on the front that will light up a football field and are really hard to actually look into directly so when I turn them on things do light up a lot. I also hand him one of my pistols I have in the boat to walk to the truck with and I keep the lights on with gun in hand to back him up. I worry about him fishing alone now with my eye sight but he now will take a friend along and he does same procedure and now has his own HCP and packs his own heat.2 points

Morgan and guns. Seems a big continuity problem here regarding Morgan and guns. Thought idea was he didn't have any truck with them, yet: - When Carol is leading him on chain as ruse to get to the armory, you can clearly see a handgun in holster on his right side. (which the passing Wolves who give her kudos didn't notice either) - Then after Carol shoots the tied up Wolf that tried to kill Gabriel, she hands a handgun to both Morgan and Gabriel, Morgan gives his to Gabriel, saying something or other to the effect he doesn't believe in using them. But we already know he has one on his hip, which also begs the question of why she even gave him one in the first place? You can also see the heater on his hip toward the end when he and Carol are doing the aftermath walk around. WTF? - OS2 points

No, you should ban them. If I understand what you are saying, they know they need to be a benefactor to sell something. So they place the item for sale and then later dispute the charge? Who wants to buy and sell guns with people like that; ban them and call it a day. I’m generally against banning people over BS; buts that’s just plain criminal. You could post who they are though for the entertainment value or in case they sell other places. A lot of us have been benefactors a long time and rarely sell anything.2 points

Congrats! I really like the G43. I have actually been using a belly-band type holster for my G43 and PF9 lately. I carry it at about 4:00 position. It took me a little while to get used to it, but once I did I really like it. Super slim, doesn't try pull my pants down, adjustable for any depth or cant, can be used with ANY type clothing. Works great for me. Good luck1 point

If something like that was actually proposed in Congress I really believe that would be the trigger but I also believe there may be a few, even on the democrat side that would realize that would be throwing the sh!t at the fan and I don't believe most want that. I'm still mad as hell even from the actual mention of it, I am mad just as much when I see some socialist college students burning the Stars And Stripes in protest. To me talk of disrespecting and violating the Constitution is just as Un-American as burning the flag. Hillary Clinton is an Un-American POS.1 point

The very first high powered rifle I shot as a kid was my Dad's Savage Model 99e in .308 Win. Of course even then, it was amazing to watch my Dad shoot it, and train my younger brother and I the correct and safe way to handle weapons. I loved shooting his Rem 870, his Super Blackhawk .44 mag, his Security Six .357, his multiple .22 lr rifles and the Stevens 20 gauge single shot that was our first "my own" gun. But there was always "something" about that Savage. At that point in my life, I didn't have a favorite type of rifle as in bolt action vs lever action so I know it didn't have anything to do with my affection for this particular 99. I think most of it was just because it was Dad's, but a lot was because I watched him re-checker it and change the stock from the darker color to the almost blonde color that it has been most of it's life. In my 20's I slipped into the work, chase girls, drink beer, and hanging with friends mode. So my hunting and shooting days were very few and far between, something I regret to this day. As I entered my 30's all of that faded away and hunting & shooting became part of my desires again. Dad and I talked guns and ammo talk more than we ever had, and I'd missed that. Somewhere along the way I'd started messing with him saying "Dad, you know that ole Savage is just gathering dust. You need me to take care of it for you? <insert laugh>". He'd always come back with one of a hundred responses ranging from "I think I'm gonna get it out and clean it" to "You know, I believe I'm gonna deer hunt with that this year" and the occasional "Oh, you'll get it one of these days". The latter being the one that worried me because I didn't want to get it the way most children get their parents weapons, in a will. But the jokes have continued all this time and even in texts: "Dad, just wanted to see if y'all were coming down this weekend .308" or I'd text him and say "I have break coming up, call me at 3:08" and always made for good laughs but to no avail haha. Fast forward to a couple of weeks ago and Dad began asking about my Rem 700 SPS Tactical .308 and talking about getting one. We talked stock and optic options as well as pricing variances. I began online shopping and sending him info on different ways he could go. He came in town this past Tuesday to visit with us while my brother and his family were in town from San Diego. He'd also picked up my new bow and brought it in with him so I met him at Bass Pro after work and we talked a lot and looked at some rifles while shooting the crap about life happenings. We left empty handed, which never happens with us, and we'd decided to go to local gun shops on Thursday and Friday for more shopping and hands on. He ended up buying the SPS Wednesday while I was at work, so shopping was done haha. He had them mount his base, rings, and his Leupold scope when he picked it up. I told him that we'd sight it in Saturday while we were having a family get together in Whites Creek. Saturday morning comes and I've packed up a couple AR's and my Rem 700, a ton of ammo and targets for a day of shooting that I've been waiting for a LONG time. One with my brother and Dad being there at the same time. With my brother being in S.D. it's rare to have the time and place availability for us to shoot together. I show up at my sister's place, start unloading everything before Dad gets there and he pulls in shortly after. I meet him at the back of his truck and we're looking at his new rifle, as he grins and tells me he can't wait to shoot it. He's a Marine so I know he's excited :usa: Everyone spreads away from the truck tailgate and Dad says "Hey, I gotta talk to you about something when everyone leaves". I'm thinking of what I could have done to hear those words after all these years of no ass whoopins lol. He slides another rifle case towards the tailgate and starts to open it while speaking "Look, I know you've loved this rifle since you were a kid. I'm sure I'm gonna be happy with this new one. I know you'll appreciate it for what it is, and I know you'll take good care of it. Put it in the truck and take care of it." This is the part where I just stare at the rifle, then stare at Dad in pure disbelief for what seemed like 30 minutes but was in reality probably 2 minutes. If I'd had to guess how I would have reacted I would probably think big smile, screaming with excitement, telling him thank you a hundred times and hugging him and saying I love you and I'll take good care of it. Well, that is NOT what happened, I couldn't say anything, probably mumbled something I'm not sure followed by a "Are you serious or teasing me again?" Well it was real, I didn't touch the gun, I hugged him and thanked him and told him I loved him and that I was glad that he handed it to me and that I didn't have to wait until he was unable to use it anymore to get it. My arms were covered in goosebumps the entire time, he even noticed it and said "Damn, are you okay?" I told him I wasn't sure. I packed it in the truck, still not believing that I was taking it home. Then we got out the SPS's and sighted his in. It was dead on accurate and he was needless to say very excited with it! My brother came down in the field and shot it as well which made it the perfect day! Anyway, sorry it's so long but if someone bought me a Barrett .50 cal tomorrow it would not be a more exciting Show & Tell thread for me. I can't wait to shoot it, try out some different ammo in it, and will definitely be taking it in the woods this year to deer hunt once gun season opens up!! Signed, Happy Ain't The Word1 point

One major difference in the parties is the Liberals are determined and stick to their guns for the most part, like the the vote yesterday that stonewalled the Sanctuary City defunding bill in the Senate in favor of illegal aliens. They are the minority but due to the way the voting rules are set up, the left stuck together and stopped the bill from going forward with a 54-45 party line vote. The bill required 60 votes to move forward and the 55 member Republican majority couldn't even get that. 99 vote total and I don't know who didn't vote, but it wouldn't have mattered anyway.1 point

While mil-spec should make all mags equal, they are not; specially with 300Blk. The only way to make sure is to try it out and see. All I have are pmags, but that is because that is all I used in the military and all my aluminum mags were sold when their price went up.1 point

On top of that they will issue you $50 for your Wilson Combat 1911, mandatory. That would be theft, there's no other word for it. Not only theft of your property but theft of your Constitutional rights and whoever gives in, theft of their principals and dignity. They would be low life thieves, no different than the meth head who breaks into your home and steals your property. Actually they are lower IMO, at least the low life meth head is taking a risk and actually laboring to steal your property, they will just have their peon peasants do the dirty work for them. No offense on the peon peasant comment but that's how THEY view all of us. A mandatory federal gun buy back program is government theft. If you think it's impossible to "HATE" Hillary anymore than you did, she says treasonous Un-American crap like that. I WILL NOT COMPLY WITH A GUN BUY BACK LAW.1 point

Its only news in that it has gotten much worse than the late 60's early 70's. My hometown is Detroit MI. Born in 1949 back when it was the auto capital of the world. I lived through the riots and saw tanks roll up my street. But there was more of the city that was still safe and productive than now. I was up there 2 months ago to visit my mother and it looks like a war zone. Detroit is still number one in Murders per capita in the US and the most dangerous city to live in. All these major cities like Memphis, St. Louis, Chicago, are the same. Violent crime and poverty mixed with unemployment, and many years of liberal governance have turned such places into decay and despair. Frankly, it seems to me especially in the case of Detroit that its too far gone. Perhaps chicago could recover but a lot of these cities are going to go bankrupt and become ghost towns. I'v only visited Memphis once and most of it could be mistaken for Detroit or east St. Louis. Its a shame.1 point

The bill was actually sent to the President earlier today (or yesterday since this post is after midnight) on the 20th. The 7th was when the Senate approved the exact version the House did after the conference to hammer out the differences. The presiding officers of each chamber had to certify the bill, then the House clerk physically delivered the certified bill to the West Wing before the 10 day clock can start, bringing up that delay you mention. Here's a great link to understand the details behind the process. The main cause for delay between the 7th and the 20th was as it usually is, a Congressional recess. The other reason is grandstanding. Republicans lined up to make press statements at a ceremony for the final certification (formally called enrollment), and wanted to make sure this wasn't in any other news cycle, hence the timing since nothing else big is going on this week. After all the posturing, I may piss myself laughing if this ends up being eligible for a pocket veto.1 point

Ahh, brings back memories of the the good old days. Like before a wife and children. I could do anything anytime if I wanted to. I made a landing or two at Mike Romeo Charlie (MRC, 3 letter identifier Maury County Airport. I earned my certificate in 1988, Av Gas was under $2.00 / gal. and a Cessna 152 was $40.00/hr. and a Piper Cherokee was $52.00/hr., both were wet meaning including fuel. Somewhere around 1989 I bought a 1967 Cessna 172. I thought I was big time when I purchased a used Northstar Loran ( state of the art form of GPS that triangulated position by radio signals designed during WW II for Naval ships crossing the Atlantic). I married in 1992 and figured it was time to sell the Cessna. I made a decent profit in the short time I owned it. A quick search shows these are selling for $30 - $35k now. That's more than double what gave initially gave for mine. Back then there was a thing called a $100.00 hamburger, when you had nothing better to do so some fellow aviators picked a place that was within a non-stop for fuel flight, fly there go to lunch and return home only to have spent $100.00 or more. I guess these days it would be closer to $300.00 plus hamburger. Best wishes that she earns her certificate. She will have memories that will never fade and maybe inspire her to make a career out of it.1 point

Everyone is infected ... but the infection is "asleep." The saliva activates the infection. When you die from natural causes, the saliva in the dead persons mouth eventually works its way into the blood either by being absorbed in GI tract or eating through the mucosal lining to activate it in the dead person's blood. ... ... I'm not a Zed scientist and I didn't stay at a Holiday Inn last night. I made this up on the spot. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

That's awful! I've all but quit fishing Priest. Between the traffic on the lake and the general sketchiness of a lot of the ramps and surrounding lots, I've about had it with the lake. Add to the fact that I actually hit a submerged car in 2013 and I just don't have much use for it anymore. There are a lot of really good under pressured rivers around that I find more enjoyable - especially in the kayak.1 point
