  1. Her enzymes are below 1700 now. They were 3400ish. They should be 10-20, but they are much better. Liver inflammation has started to decline. Her kidneys are out of the danger zone and approaching normal. She started taking phosphorus supplements today, but other than that she's just getting her regular medications. Whatever made her immune system attacked her liver has apparently stopped and everything is trending back to normal. I'm not a religious person, though my Wife is...I really appreciate everyone's prayers. It means a lot. She was not expected to survive and we were told as much. My Wife is doing much better and feels like she can breathe however I'm probably going to be sleeping alone for at least a week. I get a bit unusual when I sleep after she has issues. It's always after though. Drinking always helped, but I have all but stopped that. Thank you everyone.

  2. As far as anyone can tell, it's Macrophage activation syndrome. There is one glaring detail that doesn't follow MAS. It stopped. It shouldn't have. This is what happened when her blood was attacked a few years back. It also just stopped. She will not be officially diagnosed, but it has 99.9% of all the other hallmarks. We took her and my two youngest boys for a walk at Yanali park this morning. I pushed her in a stroller that's big enough for a small 12 year old. It's been a good day.

  4. Jesus wasn't a fan of religion either. Religion gets in the way of an actual relationship with him. Just something to think about. Really glad to hear that things are improving!

  5. That's sad, Hipower. Ive lost many friends to PTSD including my best friend of many years who took his own life a few years back. He was a member here. Me and 2 other friends had to go into his garage and clean brains and blood off of his car and the garage floor after the police left. I served 20 years in the USAF. 73-93. I d0ont expect to be thanked for my service, and it actually makes me a little uncomfortable when it happens as i never know how to respond. But I can tell you that I readily recognize the difference between someone who comes up to be with a sincere thanks for my service and the ones repeating what they think they should say ort are told by their employer to say. The day before yesterday, while I was eating at a restaurant, an older lady did so and i was moved as i could tell she was sincere.

  8. I respectfully disagree, and I am sorry for the pain and suffering that person endured, but that was caused by her. I can only speak for myself, I do have enough sense to NOT: -Have hot coffee in my crotch area in the car or where ever I might spill it. -Have my hand or fingers in front of my pistol when firing, and expect the manufacturer and range to pay for the medical. -Return my handgun to my IWB holster with my finger on the trigger and expect it not go go off. -Step in front of a moving train and expect them to stop. -Drive up to Chick-fil-Lay on Sunday expecting service -Expect to ride a roller coaster at Dollywood knowing the belt/retaining device will not go across my big belly -Apply as a waiter at Hooters -Expect equal playing time for my kids on a basketball squad when they can't make a goal -Urinate on a electric fence and expect the land owner to place signs warning me. -Buy into the political statement that is gaining traction everywhere that "gun" violence is a thing And on-and-on. As for me, and me alone, I will keep growing my common sense and not expect others to pay for my incompetence. -

  14. I've been known to tear up when attempting to say it. Especially with older vets. I totally lost it a few years back when I met a survivor of the Indianapolis. And when I bumped into a Medal of Honor Recieptiant accidently. I do mean accidently too. I was walking in a hallway from a bathroom when I almost tripped over this man. Turning to apologize, I saw his uniform and then that medal. I was tongue-tied for several seconds before I could speak.

  16. I have checked no less than a dozen times to see if it’s still in stock. I don’t need this…. But… If it weren’t for the warden, it would be en route to FFL. Picked up a little flak on my latest purchase in the form of an eye roll and “why do you need another one” which I hadn’t gotten before. Think she was a little ticked off I’ve been working so much. “Because I just think they’re neat babe, I think they're neat”. Gonna be a decent dinner this weekend. (Forgot to mention the case of 10mm I bought , hoping UPS is lazy as usual and drops it at the end of the drive).

  19. I'm sorry to say that's right. It hurts to see where we've gone. I can't believe we as a people can forget where we are and just how we got here. Of course today may not be as pleasant as days gone by, but we still need our vets!

  22. Frivolous coffee lawsuits aside. Every time I hear about guns magically going off by themselves I reflexively assume there's some misinformation at play. When I hear someone's gun goes off magically in a holster, I reflexively assume it's lies to cover up NGs.

  26. So once more history repeats itself. I remember in the late eighties when a local agency of LEO’s in my area accused the same of the still new Glock 17. (I’m going to be intentionally vague to a degree as I was present myself for elements of this). An officer had had an “accidental discharge” during a traffic stop with a young lady that he had pulled over on a lonely lakeside road nearby at night. This incident resulted in her receiving a fatal head-wound. The agency involved sued Glock and actually brought Gaston all the way over to testify to his design. (Super-win for me as I got to meet and spend time with one of my heroes). During the course of the trial we went so far as to make 3 drops into a parking garage from an over-looking 16 story building with a sample model loaded G17 for evidentiary purposes. Those were just the official attempts to create a discharge. There were PLENTY of other informal ones. The gun could not be made to accidentally fire despite efforts that got absurd by any standard. Gaston came out rightfully smelling like a rose and further cementing Glock’s patented safety system world wide, with history even citing our studies as further proof in design safety. It seems like it was about a year later that it came out that the young lady involved in the incident was an ex-girlfriend of the officer involved.

  31. I think all of us do things we regret later. I do regret selling my GMC too. Even though I am not pulling a boat any longer that the 4.3 throttle body injected motor got 28 mpg dragging the boat with the a/c on and 33 MPG with the a/c on . Best I can get with the Cherokee 4.3 with a/c on is 19. It is 14 mpg dragging the boat with a/c on in the Jeep.

  32. I asked a LEO I know. He wasn't sure, but pointed out that people hunt turkey and deer in the dark hours of the morning... So if you're in the county, on private property, perhaps it IS ok to pop off a shot? Personally, it sketches me out.

  34. It's only been 2 months and thieves got my card number again. This time they bought something online at Walmart.com for around $164. The reason this is so frustrating is that we lead a completely boring/routine life. My card has only been touched by someone other than me once in the last month at the Bojangles drive-thru. She only had my card for a few seconds and I could see her swipe it and hand it right back. Maybe it was a scanner at the gas station. Either way, this is such a pain in the rear. I'm more careful than most people I know with their card, but I've still been got twice in 2 months. I hate these thieving jerks.
