I'm an armed guard holding state issued license with TDCI, never needed a hcp and for the record TN is constitutional carry. In that case any hcp obtained here is for personal reasons. Not a requirement in TN. Just my nickel in there on the subject. I recommend the bill of sell but never ask about someone spending 150 bucks to obtain a useless permit which even bordering states don't care for being a constitutional state in TN3 points

i never shoot this one so it's up for grabs. comes in original box with all paperwork and extra xd stuff (holster, mag carrier and mag loader). trying to whittle down my non-1911 45 acp guns as i tend to shoot 9mm much more often. i will not travel more than 25 miles from knoxville to sell this. buyer must show TN ID (prefer HCP) and be legally able to purchase a handgun. do not contact me if you can't. please no comments about this. happy to answer any questions or provide more information or pictures to seriously interested parties. $475 $450 cash price preferred. trades up or down considered but i don't have much luck with trading. thanks for looking.1 point

Up for sale my Walther PPK (not PPK /S) .380 ACP in Stainless Steel. I’ve owned it for several years and I’m the second owner. This is a great shooter, or alternatively, a collector’s piece. Manufactured in the 1980’s by Interarms of Alexandria VA, considered the premier USA producer of this particular firearm · Complete with original vinyl case. Has some tearing at the hinge · All original papers including the “proof” target paper · 3 magazines all OEM. 2 with pinky extensions · My estimate of appearance is 95% · Included Galco slide holster. (never used) · Set of aftermarket rosewood grips. I purchased, and immediately concluded that the black plastic originals looked better. But they are yours. I’ve shot this very little during the years I’ve owned it. Excellent pistol with a great history. I’d mention the James Bond thing, however I’m sure I’ll get called out for it since he never actually owned one in .380 ACP. But I threw it in there anyway Asking $750.00 $650.00 Not looking for trades, however, I would consider revolvers in .357 or .44 Mag. I am willing to travel a reasonable distance for an established TGO member. TN ID Required. HCP even better. No exceptions. Thanks for looking!1 point

Vulcan Machine Werks / Modern Warriors: Staccato P. These guns are ported by VMW, bear a custom VMW/MW insignia, are cerakoted, and come with a DLC guide rod, as opposed to stainless like stock Staccatos. Gun is Hazel green cerakote; previously spraypainted, but removed with Citristrip and degreased, washed, dried, and re-oiled. The only remaining evidence of any paint is on the grip module, very very lightly. Runs great and ports are super effective, I just don’t need it at the moment and want to free up funds for other projects. ~1000 rounds on the gun. -Includes 2 17rd mags, with Vulcan baseplates, 4x 20rd Atlas mags, 2x 26rd Staccato mags -Dawson ACRO plate included; I have misplaced the factory irons plate. -Miscellaneous staccato patches and swag included. If you have any questions, let me know. $2800. Local to Nashville, work in Franklin. Would ideally meet somewhere around there. Not interested in trades unless it’s high end, high magnification MRAD glass.1 point

I finally got a mostly rainless Saturday to get my Nocturne back out to the range today. After discussing it with @NoBanStan, I think my initial issues might be over after more break-in time. I haven't bought many guns that needed a break-in period, but I don't know what else to attribute this to. Today I loaded all 5 mags 6 times each with 10 rounds. One mag out of 5 held the slide open with one round left, but it only happened once. It was one of the two that had issues last time, but since it only did it once and only on the first time I loaded that mag, I'm fine leaving it marked as "range-only". I didn't even clean the gun from the last time out, so I'm kind of glad to see it run so good. I even tossed in a box of that terrible Monarch ammo again. The first round needed 2 hammer drops to fire, but the rest shot just fine. I'm even getting the hang of picking up the red dot on presentation and during follow-up shots. I wasn't sure I'd ever get to that point. Nothing like 30 mag changes with 9 follow-up shots each, I guess. So, I'm feeling pretty good about carrying this one, finally.1 point

I have been carrying a 7 shot 357 for years now, JustEd. In my pocket as we speak. I bet my life on it. Did carry my Bodyguard last 2 weeks camping but had a 9 MM close by and at hand. No bears where I was, that I seen.1 point

Hi Will, I agree with your point. Just a clarification regarding Baby Face Nelson was shot 17 times is a misquote from the press due to a misunderstanding of the statement from J. Edgar Hoover stating "seven to ten wounds" to Nelson's body. In reality, Nelson received one .45 slug from an FBI agent Crowley’s machine gun to his lower abdomen that would eventually kill Nelson later that evening. Nelson also received 8 buckshot pellets to his legs by FBI agent Hollis. Unfortunately, both FBI agents were killed. Agent Crowley died at the hospital from his wounds and agent Hollis died at the shootout scene when he was shot in the head by Baby Face Nelson. The details of the shootout event are at the link below. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baby_Face_Nelson#Death1 point

Dawson Precision toolless takedown recoil spring rod. Two twenty-six round magazines, two twenty round magazines, five seventeen round magazines, competition holster. Probably a thousand rounds through it without a malfunction. Email or text with queries. This was all I could get the site to upload. Text or email for any other photos you would like to see. Price of everything would be over $2200 new ... first $1400 cash.1 point

Wedding, "BIG DENT!" Her reception is over $10,000.00 (120 guest) for starters. Her poor mom and dad. Been doing yard work all morning. We planted 300.00 worth of flowers before we left, and our daughter came over and watered them while we were gone. Of course, my wife brought more home for me to plant, so I been doing that among other things all morning. Hand to put miracle grow on all the smaller plants to give them a little boost plus some others. Done everything I wanted except weed eating. That gets my back now. While out I overhead the Blue Angels flying at the air show in Smyrna. Man, the jets vibrate the ground just from the sound when the afterburners are engaged. My hummingbirds have still stayed around. Got 4 females and 1 male at present. Put fresh nectar and sugar water out for them and they are tearing it up this morning. Have one feeder on the front and one on the back but they still divebomb each other. We have one feeder in the breakfast nook bay window on the back so we can watch them feed, while we feed. It is a mutual thing considering it all. Well, I am in for the day as I am tired. Going to eat some late lunch. Wiffie has gone to town so I will have some Beenie Winnies and crackers. She will fuss but it is good. Will tope them off with a Mini Moon Pie and soft drink. Now you beat that! Have a good afternoon.1 point

Bolt guns for a traditional baffled can would be RPR in .308, RAR in x39, possibly looking at a .223 bolt gun as well. None in 8mm.1 point

Yes. HUB = Bravo = 1.375-24 I use a Rearden Atlas mount on my Omega 300. Some of my gun barrels are 1/2-28 and some are 5/8-24, but all have Rearden Q Plan B compatible muzzle devices that work with the Atlas mount.1 point

Continuing with those thoughts, let's discuss why penetration is more important than expansion or caliber size. All too often we read comments on gun forums and hear comments in real-life discussions about the perils of "over penetration" in self-defense shootings and ultimately the conversation turns toward the notion that a mythical sweet-spot exists wherein a cartridge provides adequate penetration yet not too much. When you consider the dynamics of a self-defense encounter (the distance at which the shooting may take place, the way that the body of the individual receiving fire may be angled, intermediate barriers between them and the shooter, the anatomy of the individual being shot at, etc.) then it becomes obvious that it is quite literally impossible to load a cartridge that will provide just enough penetration for every single instance. As illustrated in my preceding post, the temporary cavity effects and permanent tissue damaging effects of handgun cartridges make them poor performers when compared to the incapacitation qualities of rifle calibers. While a subject shot with a handgun caliber may indeed bleed out from a minor would given time, a self-defense shooting requires quicker incapacitation of the subject resulting in a more immediate elimination of the threat. Barring mortal injury to the central nervous system (CNS) via the bullets fired, the most effective means of dealing with the threat is to use a cartridge capable of penetrating deep enough into the subject so as to reach the large blood-bearing vessels and organs in the torso. Failing this, rapid physiological incapacity of the threat is unlikely. In comparison, if a bullet completely penetrates and exits the subject, the bullet will have had enough penetration to reach the critical organs and vessels and will more likely have caused hemorrhaging sufficient to induce hypovolemic shock in the subject. Second to CNS trauma, this is the only reliable means of incapacitating the subject. This bears out two points: 1. Shot placement is critical in any self-defense shooting, not only because of the liability attached to each bullet fired, but but also because failing to deliver shots accurately to the areas most likely to incapacitate the subject will result in that subject remaining a threat. 2. Penetration is king when choosing self-defense cartridges. If you have to choose between penetration and expansion, choose the former.1 point
