Took this little fella last week with my shorty 35 Rem. 70 yds and he ran about 80 yds. Was using a 200 gr RCBS cast pushed by 24.5 grs IMR 4198 RP Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G891A using Tapatalk4 points

Personally, I feel that these were very underestimated pistols. Very accurate and easy to hold and shoot. Once you got past the grip safety, for those who hated it, a very good pistol. I still have a 5'' 45 in my safe. And I never understood what all the ruccus about the grip safety was for. Heck it's just like a 1911. Can you hold a 1911 without crying about it? Same thing.2 points

Me personally, no. My wife works with a raptor rehabber. They have a handful of unreleasable education birds in addition to those they rehab. http://www.smokymountainraptorcenter.org/2 points

I got to shoot a $150,000 Imperiale Montecarlo one time. It didn’t break 100 times as many birds as a $1500 Silver Pigeon, but man it sure was pretty.1 point

I'd get documentation on the medication and side effects from his doctor as well as his military record and try to apply in person rather than online . Get the doctor to write a paper stating that he has no known mental issues and that that the meds caused the problem and that he is no longer taking them and has had no further problems stating how long he has been off them . Might not make any difference but that is what I would try first . Damn shame to be punished for telling the truth . Eddie1 point

Those price on the American Eagle and and the Hydro-Shoks also reflect 50 rounds vs 20 rounds I bet, As for this being more expensive than .357, I don't know about that. .357 seems to be about $30+ for a box of 50 around here.1 point

Interchangeable parts, actually. And the argument could be made for them being mutually dependent of each other. But the basic line is sound. SWC1 point

Animals in the bed at night is where I drew the line EARLY on. As far as my wife knows I have a .410 shotgun and a couple .22lr rifles. Hopefully she never pokes around too much.....1 point

I wasn't fortunate enough to get the original 8000, got a Stoeger years later. Absolutely one of my favorites, I even used it for USPSA for a while. I currently can't find a source for recoil springs for it.1 point

I love my Dan Wesson Specialist in .45ACP but this 5-inch TRP Operator with the non-adjustable rear sight is probably the most practical 10mm 1911 that anyone has made since the Colt Delta Elite. It's got the right frills and plenty of business. I'd carry the hell out of it, especially in colder months when the extra oomph of the 10mm cartridge would come in handy for overcoming layers of heavy clothing if you had to add a few extra holes to a bad guy. Truthfully, since the Charlie Hedbo shootings in France where the goat-####ing scumbags rolled in wearing body armor, I have been giving the 10mm Glock 20 more room in my carry rotation. It's a bit of a pain to carry something that big, but I can give you a lot of things to think about no matter the body armor you're wearing and I tend to quickly work my way towards the head with my shots.1 point

EPBFi in Chattanooga is a great example of a public infrastructure project done well. And it's led to companies investing in Chattanooga and jobs being created that almost certainly wouldn't have been otherwise. And yes, the politicians are bought and paid for to guarantee that others in the state don't get the opportunity to do similar. I guess you're not sending Marsha Blackburn a Christmas Card?1 point

I purchased a Kimber Solo from a member on here. It was supposedly unfired(or almost new), but had already changed hands before I got it. I couldn't see any indications of use other than the normal wear from slide action. First time i shot it, it didn't feed the second round. I put it up and decided the ammo I had was the issue. The next time I tried more rounds of different varieties. Same problem, but worse. It wouldn't feed anything more than once or twice. Called Kimber and quickly realized the slide stop had not engaged a tiny spring that needs to be caught upon installation. Now there doesn't seem to be an issue and it feeds anything I've put in it. I still wonder who and when the slide was installed incorrectly. I wouldn't be surprised to find out that both previous owners had the issue. I'm glad that I picked up a cheap Solo, but even more glad that I tested before carrying.1 point

Someone else can check the math on this and see if I'm right. 20 grams of lead = 306.25 grains or about 7/10 of an ounce. using Ballisics 101 calculator 306.25 grains moving at 850 ft/sec. = 491 ft. lbs. of energy at the muzzle The question then becomes how much mass you are trying to knock down and are they F'd up on Crack?1 point

Granted, it's been a couple years since I've been in there, but I've always had a good experience at TN Gun Country. Someone gave me a gift certificate from there shortly after they opened shop in that tiny strip mall years back, and I had a pleasant experience, so I kept going back there. Their prices weren't all that great on gun inventory, but close enough when factoring in shipping costs on Internet sales, and I prefer to patronize locally if I can. I've purchased two firearms from them. Yeah, chances are you're going to know more than the guy at the counter if you're a gun guy. I am, and I'm sure I know more than most the staff. With that, keep in mind that they can't pay employees a whole lot of money to work there, so you aren't going to have a sooper dooper gun genius behind the counter every time. If someone wanted to pay me lots of money to work behind a counter at a gun store, I'd do it and strive to be more knowledgable than anyone I encountered. Good luck finding a generous supply of people like that at $7.00 an hour. Like another poster mentioned, let the owner know if he has employees screwing up. TGC didn't seem like the kind of place where the owner/management treat their customers poorly. I'm sure your input would be appreciated. Like I said, it's been a few years since I've been in there, but I can't believe it's gotten so bad that it ranks up with other idiot gun stores in the area. At least I hope not.
