  1. Finally found a Python in what I consider good shape and I could afford. I've been on the Python search for quite some time now. Most of them I'd want to take home must have gold screws! Sorry for the lousy pics.

  4. Just had to get out in my back yard today. Sun shining, no rain or wind. so what if one of my .45's bit me it was still great.

  5. Yeah. If it's colored blue, it could usually benefit from a good swarm of locusts

  9. Good news... Got my hands on one in .45 and the lightweight 9mm this weekend! Bad news is I don't know which one I want. Both...if I could afford them. I l love the all steel look of the .45 but love the feel of the LW 9mm, just not sold on the 2 tone yet. I guess I could cerakote it. The 9mm seems like it would be more fun to shoot too.

  11. I can't really disagree with you, but on the basis of the T120 and the CZ75...I'm still open to discussion. lol I've bought pretty much on "like" and "feel" criteria for the vast majority of my pistols. I can't really say I've bought an "investment" firearm more than once or twice. I really don't have the money to do that, I just like having and shooting them. That being said, I do have several items that I'd say are purely defensive purposed; and the others just range toys. But few have any real high$ value as an investment. I have a couple of Smiths that might qualify under that, but not bought for that purpose. I was around Smiths growing up, and just like the pre-lock revolvers. LOL I guess I could say that about all of them. Back to the OP's original question...I'd prefer a CZ in most cases over the Tristar/Canik pistols. Not a set in stone rule for me though. I'm very fickle in my pistol tastes. After re-reading the original post, I see that hughd did specify the CZ75 as being the pistol he was comparing the T120 with. So I have modified some things I said, and added and deleted a comment or two. In short. Yes...CZ75 first, and the Tristar T120 later. But not written off completely. lol

  12. I have several Czs. Poly and steel frame models. No complaints about any of them. I don't shoot 1000's of rounds thru them, but all work reliably and are great shooters. Of course the steel frame guns are softer shooters, but the weight makes carry with them a difficult proposition for me. The smaller models like the 75 compact, the RAMI, and the PCR are really nice size carry pistols. As for the TriStar 120, an early Canik model from what I understand; I have no personal knowledge. I'd like to have one to try. The current Canik models like the TP9 series...I absolutely adore! I have a TP9sa and an SFx model. Great pistols. Ergonomics are great(for me, anyway), the trigger is wonderful. Has a short and very audible reset "click" making double-taps or sting fire super easy. I'd have a hard time saying which of the TP9 or the HKVP9 or the Walther PPQ is the best. All meet the comments I made above, and all are great range and house guns for me. You mentioned the T120 being 120 less than the CZ. Price is important, that is true. In the current market, I probably would go with the CZ Looking a bit, I found the T120 on classicfirearms.com for 360. Gun Broker has starting prices around that, and Bud's is 379. Seeing all this, I'm very tempted to go for one! lol

  16. I live just out side the city limits of Mt Juliet. You can not fire a projectile inside the city limits of Mt Juliet. BB gun, bow and arrow and firearm. That said, from what I understand, there is or was a provision about hunting in city limits. You can hunt and not get into trouble. However if the animal dies on some else's property you could get into trouble in civil court. Now things have changed in the last few years(10 to 15 years). That was the last time I looked into the hunting thing. So do you home work. My $0.02, do not fire a projectile inside city limits.

  18. Our attorney confirmed that his felony has been completely expunged, and locally there are no records of it. He said it will take about 120 days until it makes it from the state level to federal. Just in case anyone else needs to know in the future. Of course your milage may vary. Thanks

  20. Have you told the lads back home you are now officially an American redneck with a big ass truck?

  21. It's not totally out of the realm of possibility that you might tag some squirrels or turkeys with that truck...

  22. If that happens when you go out for a shotgun what happens when you go out to buy a new truck?

  23. I have an American Classic Officer. Not a Ruger, but learned something about that size. I bought mine new, and immediately took it to Tim Calhoun for a new properly tuned extractor and some other TLC. I asked him to keep the gun until he got it tweaked out, and had a chance to take it to the range some. He got it running pretty well. His comment was that officers, in general were always gonna be a little persnickety because of the geometry of the feed system. And that commanders and governments are just more reliable. If I had it to do over, I would buy a Commander. If I buy another, it will be a Commander. Now... Tim may have changed his mind since he's now making an officer in 40S&W. More likely his design is a little better than the Colt and clones.

  25. To be honest, I used a adjustable wrench. None of mine are commercial though,. I've made 6 of them, four were 1/2x28 and two were 5/8x24. They are used to utilize a couple Form 1 cans accross multiple platforms and calibers. When I'm not running a can, I use HK 3 lug flash hiders that I picked up at Knob Creek back in 06 for $25 each. As far as torque, I went slightly less than A2 flash hider. I don't use crush washers though. Peel washer or none.
