I know the Annual is mostly an info-mercial for the brand, but can 65% of US Law Enforcement be wrong?

Shame the US manufacturers can't be a little more competitive to capture the LE biz...

When Glocks first came out, I was working in a gun store and used to tell my friends. "I can tell you a lot of great things about a glock and can't think of anything bad, but I don't want one." Then I shot one! Only bad thing I can say about them now is I don't care for the grip angle.

I love my Glocks, they just work very well and do what they are supposed to.

I too love the Glock, but there are some issues with them that caused me to look for another brand. 1st, the controls are small ISlide release and mag release) and not ambidextrous which forced me to have to shoot right handed. Then there are those pesky plastic mags as well. I have experienced and witnessed mags not releasing and sticking. Metal mags don't seem to have the problem. They make great stuff and if you can deal with the small controls it is a great gun!

I'm not a cop, but I know cops, I like cops and I recognize one when I see one. Its always been my understanding that a person didn't become a cop because they liked cleaning and maintaining guns. So I figured if Glock hanging in a holster all the time was good enough for a cop, it was certainly good enough for me. I've owned them for two years and never had a FTE/FTF or any sort of problem. In a pinch you can even hammer a nail to hang a picture and not make it any uglier.

The M&P is slowly capturing more and more of the market. Competition really has nothing to do with it. Glock has been around MUCH longer than any other major polymer gun. They've just had more time to build up their customer base. It's just a gun, not a mythical piece of magic.

I REALLY want a Glock, always have but I have to have a traditional rifled barrel. By the time I buy an aftermarket cut rifled barrel, I'm better off with my XD's.

I've always respected the quality/reliablity of Glocks, but they didn't fit my hands. In fact, lots of guns don't, b/c I have short fingers. So, I developed a pretty deep loyalty to another brand.

Now that I have a Gen 4 Glock and it fits my hand, I am starting to appreciate them even more. I definitely don't think Glocks are over-rated, but would argue that some other brands are highly under-rated.

I used to want a Glock. Then I shot a Sig and now I can't stand the Glock triggers. The M&P trigger was a little better but I love my Sig DA/SA trigger now and really can't seem to get used to any other ones. I know a couple of my friends prefer long trigger pulls for a short Single Action pull but not this guy.

I use to be a all steel gun guy, mostly revolvers, many years ago. Got use to shooting Glocks and have not looked back. All of my experience with Glocks have been good so that may have colored my outlook on them.

Glock has 65% of the market because of price. The M&P is starting to meet or beat their price with American manufacturing and better steel components (SS barrel/slide). All those things add up to a better gun in some respects. That being said I've owned both and much prefer anything over a Glock. Mainly because of how the Glock feels in the hand. They are good guns and do what they claim. I still think the Glock 19 is the best sized gun out there and for the life of me can figure out why more manufactures don't make one in that same size.

Seriously, I have shot Glocks, Sigs, Berettas, and XD's and all of them are great. It's just a matter of which flavor and grip you like the best.

They have. Smith & Wesson is taking that market. But you have to remember that Glock has been on top in that market for over 20 years. It’s taking a while to get some of the diehard Glock users to come around; but it will happen.

The M&P is totally made here, no foreign parts, fit and finish is better than a Glock, and it costs about the same as a Glock. There’s no need for me to support workers overseas; I like to support American workers every chance I get.

The real profit is made in the civilian market; civilians want what cops have. Glock was selling pretty cheap to Police Departments to try to keep the civilian market.

Couple this with some Glock/LE issues that have been noticed (LAPD vs G21, NYPD vs G19, several agencies reporting problems with Gen3 .40s and weapon mounted lights), not to mention their Gen4 9mms were released before all the bugs were worked out.

I love Glocks, but they had better watch out for the M&P. Several major agencies have already made the switch.

I'm not sure about M&P's having a better "fit and finish", I think Hickok45's video might say otherwise. Being that his had a cracked slide. They are definitely good guns though, same with XD's. It all depends on what you like.

never owned glocks, don't like the grip angle. But i'm thinking about picking up a couple used G17s, some glock lights, and some G18 mags for a bug out bag
