Fishing for piranhas, expert level

Never had piranha, but if you lived around them this seems to be the way to get 'em.  No reason to waste time using any other way

Saw an episode of River Monsters where a toddler fell in and got consumed right in front of his family. As the parent of a toddler.... that completely creeped me out.

guy who got trapped around the amazon used a bucket.  Just cut himself and bled into the bucket and it was full of fish in seconds. 

He also got a major tapeworm from eating them.   Barely survived the whole mess.  I wish I could find the story... looking. 

 

Anyway, seems like an easy fish to catch...  she could probably drop that meat in that bucket, drop it in on a rope and pull up 20+ of the things.

Mine were all freeze-dried and came with a plank of wood.  The plank wasn't too bad.

That does seem odd. I've seen the aftermath of carnivores that went straight for the viscera and skipped the muscular areas, but the whole upper half of that guy was picked clean.

That's not what happens when you fall in the water fishing for piranhas, that's what happens to a body that has been floating for a period of time in the Amazon Basin.

I've seen people in Brazil catching piranhas on one side of a small dock and kids swimming on the other side (10' away) with no problems. Edited August 3, 2014 by BrasilNuts
