Church asks boys scouts to leave. http://www.cnn.com/video/data/2.0/video/us/2013/05/31/dnt-scouts-kicked-out-of-church.wbrc.html You know, if it wasn't for sinners, Pastors would not have a job. In my opinion, pastors should welcome anyone. Of all people they should.3 points

The Staff shot the match today and everything went smooth. The stages are a lot of fun and the SO's are great. Still some slots open for walk-ins. Come on down and join the fun. Three guns on the prize table available for random drawing. Do you feel lucky? For $70 bucks you get to shoot a sanctioned match with 8 stages, free lunch, and a 1 in 30 chance to win a gun, and a much higher chance to go the prize table for some other goodies.2 points

That's why I am turning more and more into a Libertarian. I don't think Haslam will run for President, yet. I think he will run for Lamar's Senate seat, first. Then use that as a stepping stone. He will not get my vote.2 points

It's only a matter of time before the left wing migrates their BS to every state. Look at the education system and what they're teaching kids, what the media and Hollywood push, etc., and you'll see the youth that will be going in to government, etc., will move us continually left.2 points

All this fine old pistol needs is to be shot, no need for a gunsmith "good to go, yep it's fine, now pay me" unless you know it's broken, which I doubt it is. Near as I can can make out it is a nazi-era PP made around 1941. It's obviously been left in a holster for too many years, a sad fate for many old bring-backs and other pistols, regardless is looks better and is far more valuable in it's current state than if refinished in some disgusting two-tone or any other spray paint.2 points

Per Dr. Suzanna Gratia-Hupp: "How a politician stands on the Second Amendment tells you how he or she views you as an individual… as a trustworthy and productive citizen, or as part of an unruly crowd that needs to be lorded over, controlled, supervised, and taken care of." Our Governor consistently exhibits a penchant for considering Stalin's Bourgeoisie in need of having direct supervision for most of their requirements, more especially those which relate to deciding who their Judges should be, how and why they are to avail themselves of the Right to keep and bear arms, those niggling issues one would assume that the Constitution of the State's Framers intended to be finalized when they left ink on the issues.2 points

Snozz is gettin ready for a senatorial or national run for something (...prez i would opine...). He has to appeal to all sectors of the electorate. Hence; "haslamspeak" on gun rights and "expanded background checks". Politics at it's worst. He is just like the others. He worships and covets the god of power. Robert's post above is right. libertarian leroy2 points

SO far after reading this and reading about AC units in general , it seems I am gonig to have to evacuate the whole system then add coolant. You can't argue relativism using absolutes. Your understanding and interpretation of scriptures go hand in hand with this issue. Scripture means what the writer intended it to mean not what you or I interpret to mean in our current culture or context. Right and wrong also can not be interpreted by current context or "feeling". In the same way that the Constitution holds value because it is unchanging in core principal and belief regardless of how folks of the past or present try to apply it, morality is not an ever vacillating sea. The changes we see are a result of our growing in understanding of the truth of the core principal. Not an expansion of some kind of "new truth". "Grey" areas are were we find this growth. However, when we change black and white to mean red and green then all foundation is lost and we have anarchy - where one is left to their own devices - ala Sodom and Gomorrah. That is the fundamental principal in the story of Lot. He choose to come back to absolute truth and was saved. The cities had completely given themselves over to moral relativism and perished. This is why it matters to some including myself. When I see something clearly I am forced to reckon with it. I am not perfect and as Robert has stated I can be hypocritical, however my flaws and shortcomings do not shape or change the absolutes of morality.1 point

All:_______________ These aint knives; but they are very nice: They were done by a great guy by the name of Steve Liley, Coal Creek Forge, near Alton, IL. Steve doesnt have a website; but he used to post on knifeforums. His e-mail (...which he watches and answers very quickly...) is ccfms@sbcglobal.net; . These are what Steve calls his "plain jane" working hawks. As ya can see they look great. The total time from the first e-mail till delivery wuz 10 calendar days. Very quick service by any yardstick on "made to order" stuff. The hawks are made of old jackhammer drill points (...a very good steel...) and are hand forged by Steve. They weigh about 19 or 20 oz and come with about a 20 or so inch handles. The pictures do not do justice to the great workmanship in these hawks. As ya can see now, im ready to repell borders if i run out of powder and shot. Otherwise, ill just use these great tools to lop of a limb or two when i need to; or just carry 'em around to ward off any potential malingerers or 'neer do wells. Wahoo leroy1 point

It's kind of irritating that they're continuing to sell 525 rd boxes of Golden Bullet for $23.99 while the 500 rd box I bought 2 weeks ago for the same price is still backordered to June 30. You think they might consider offering a substitution.1 point

Summer of 09 cost spike was the "Great Ammo Shortage of 09" after Obama got elected the first time. As soon as he got elected there was a big run on ammo. By the late spring/early summer there was an ammo shortage much like we have now, but mostly just in the super popular calibers like .380 9,40, 45 .223 and 762x39. Back then .22 was not hard to get and a lot of folks were coming to classes using .22 conversions for their pistols. I think memories of that is part of what caused a big spike in buying this time that started the day after the election last November. Add in the Sandy Hook shooting 6 weeks later, and then the dems showing their true colors and trying to pass a gun ban that was largely targeted at making things harder on LAW ABIDING CITIZENS and you get what you have now. This industry is built around servicing the needs of about 20% of gun owners because that is all that really buy anything on a regular basis. But for the last few months you have had probably 85 to 90% buying all they could find.....so if we go from 16-20 MILLION people actively buying to 70-75 MILLION people buying it creates a huge lack of availability in product.1 point

Very nice looking hawks. Look to be very practical too. Only thing I might want is a little longer beard.1 point

That's probably because the folks who are upset about this policy change knows that it really isn't going to change a thing about how the scouting conducts things or what activities it does or the principles and information it tries to teach. ;)1 point

I've got a fellow I've used a good bit. He did all my interior trim, most of it stained. He's very consciousness and does top notch work. Each door and most window frames in my house required 16 individual pieces he did them all and they still look great. I won't say he's the cheapest, but you're unlikely to be disappointed. Pm me if you want his number1 point

That would be because it wont, well with the exception that it will give the scouts access to more land for scouting activities1 point

Well Ramsey, Harwell, Haslam and all the Establishment Republicans got what they wanted, that is, what Fed Ex, Volkswagen and Amazon wanted , and paid for, control. The Big Business boys got complete absolution for any act committed with a firearm, legal or illegal, and the Establishment got cover for the low information voters who want to be able to provide for their own protection, (seeing as to how they can not count on government or their employers to be responsible for that production).1 point

There is no need for that tone. Garufu is an upstanding guy and has been a member here for a very long time. I'm also sure he ais quite familiar with what Dura Coat is. The pistol in question would be worth a lot more left in it's current state, than if it were refinished. I believe that was what Garufu was pointing out. Also agree that all the pistol needs is a good cleaning and a little range work.1 point

Changing possession in vehicle on school property from a felony to legal behavior seems most significant part to me. I wouldn't be surprised if some case law might come from TN college campus at some point too -- dunno about the employment part, but I'm not so sure at all it's going to be okay to expel a student for complying with state law, and especially one that takes funds from the state in the first place. - OS1 point
-
You are overlooking a couple of points. Yes, an employer can fire you for virtually any reason or no reason. However, it matters to an person's UIB if he is fired for cause or not. This law does take away the ability of an employer to press criminal charges against you for carrying on a "posted property"; while I don't know if it's EVER happened at least it can't happen now. It also negates the threat of criminal charges for having a firearm in your vehicle while parked in "posted" parking lots at places like shopping malls, etc. We'll get a good parking lot law eventually; similar to those that some 19 other states already have...we'll just have to wait until we get a governor and legislative leadership with some balls.1 point

My experience also tells me that a majority of people can be in favor of something and still be wrong.1 point

They are SUPPOSED to have that right. Popular election of Senators is why we have no states' rights any more. The 17th Amendment needs to be abolished yesterday.1 point

What this state doesn't need any more of are politicians who wouldn't know an unalienable right if it crawled into bed with them and bit them in the ass. Haslam, Ramsey, Harwell and more than I have time to name are worthless politicians and unworthy to be in any elected office...these people make me sick to my stomach that I ever once identified myself as a Republican.1 point

Parts kits from overseas, which is what they all to start with, are few and far between. They used to be in the $100 range and come with a barrel, so add in the cost of a cheap receiver and labor to put one together and $300-400 is what you could get into one for. Now expect to pay $400 for a parts kit, if you can find one, and most likely it also will not include a barrel as they can no longer be imported. Add $100-150 for the barrel and another $100 for a receiver plus labor and it is not hard to see why $800 and up is the new norm.1 point

If religious folks didn't impose their beliefs on everyone else (as they always seem to claim they don't), every single politician wouldn't need to pretend to be a God-fearing individual, abortion wouldn't be such a hot topic, etc. Everything is kosher, just as long as you're the only group shoving your agenda down the throats of others.1 point
-
First, go setup a target. Then what I would do is take the upper completely off and take out the BCG so you can see down the barrel. Put it on some bags or some other steady rest. Look down the bore at the target then adjust the dot to be about the same place. Put rifle back together and start shooting for fine-tuning. That's the cheap and easy way to do it.1 point
