1. There's no set in stone procedure for this. It's a case by case kinda thing. ANY amount of injury or threat of lawsuit is worth enduring to prevent someone from hurting a child. On the flip side, I ain't getting in between two grown men. I'd say the majority of the time, ole Caster will be walking and dialing the cell phone. I hate to say that, but I have people who depend on me just like the rest of you gentlemen. It's an absolutely atrocious attitude on my part, but better them than me. There IS a line though. I wouldn't stand by while some guy beats down a woman half his size. I wouldn't walk away from a child in danger. It sucks to be this way but the filthy Godless subhumans that make up a large percentage of our society have forced this policy upon us. Chivalry is dead, not because the gentleman is extinct but because the gentleman has been persecuted and chased into hiding.

 2. We've travelled off in lots of pasture fields with this little bit of examinaton of a real 'hot button' topic.  We've heard lots of reasoned debate, satire (...some of it pretty good...), some laughable stuff (...meant to be laughable, some not...) and some regrettable stuff.     The discussion of late has turned to the "supposed hipocracy of "Christians" who pick and choose just what sins are "ok" and what are "not-ok".  As a person of faith, i feel compelled to try in my small way to answer the question that when asked as a genuine and serious question is supremely important to both believers and non-believers; and, at it's worst, is a "rhetorical "gotcha".   I think it is a supremely important, "really big" question which is very important to this discussion and all "pop-culture" questions.  It is the question of how should a christian react and ineract with his brother and sister human beings -- especially those labelled as "heinous sinners"....  Here goes:   The New Testament narrative gives us this answer in an account of the God-Man being asked a question by the "religious elites" of his time (...Think Westboro Baptist Church here; plus some others i wont name...).   This woman was caught in "the very act of adultry" the narrative says; and she was brought to the God-Man for a "legal ruling" on her "sin" by the "religious elites".   Actually, the religious elites weren't interested in the woman's sin; they were interested in entrapping the The God-Man in a matter of Old Testament jewish law which would allow them to accuse the God-Man of blasphemy and put Him to death (...Old Testament Jewish Law...) for it to shut Him up. The "old testament jewish law clearly called for stoning to death for adultry"..   The God-Man didnt answer the question directly ---- He said nothing.   He simply wrote in the dust of the street "...Let him who is without sin cast the first stone...".  He got no takers and the religious elites left one by one, starting with the oldest first.   Finally, no one was left other than the God-Man and the woman who was clearly guilty.  He then said "...Woman, where are your accusers?...".   He then said: "...Go and sin no more...".    The moral.  He loved the "sinful" woman in a brotherly and alturistic way --- He did not condemn her; even though she was clearly guilty under the law.   He did not condone the sin, He mentioned it privately to her and placed His life (...He later gave it to save all of us...) in danger to save her life.   That's where the ole "hate the sin", but "love the sinner" thing came from.     ... Whether you choose as an individual to believe this account or not (...i happen to believe it...); or whether you see it as a fanciful tale; you cannot help but see the wisdom, kindness, and majesty in this act.   You can find this account in any New Testament concordance.  I wont bother with the citations...   The way i see things, as christians, we are called to be like the God-Man if we are His followers.  We are also reminded that we too, are not without sin -- it aint just "them" that are sinners.  We are all sinners, whether christian or "unaffilliated".  The christians are just "forgiven"...As christians, we are also called to be honest and even-handed in our dealings with everyone.  That means we should never ostracize anyone, no matter how heinous (...or minor-- by our flawed standards...) the sin.  Does that mean christians must "approve and embrace sin"?  Of course not.  It does, however, mean that we are to be intellectually and ethically fair in our treatment of any matter; whether it's "approved of or not".   Remember this, the "unaffilliated' and jhadists among us are watching our actions and are lookin for an excuse to call us out and point us out as hypocrites.  The fact is that we are all hypocrites, because we are human.  We have all "sinned' in some way.    All that bein said, if we claim His Name, we need to be like Him in as much as we possible can.  I say to my brother and sister christians; "...be fair and loving in your dealings with others, no matter who they are...".  You can campaign against certain things based on moral issues; just be sure that campaign is fair.    The DOMA thing wasn't fair as soon as the individual states recognized more than one species of marriage....I would say in the kindest way possible, think everything thru, be kind, be reasonable, be supremely honest.  Otherwise, we denigrate that Name by which we claim to be called.  Remember, marriage was sanctioned by the Christian God in the beginning; not the state.    leroy

 3. Our neighbor came over today and walked up on us (my 14yr old daughter and myself) in the garage where we were cleaning a couple of rifles. He got a puzzled look on his face and asked if I was making her do that. She politely said no that she was cleaning her rifle while I cleaned mine. He looked more puzzled and asked why in the world was such a pretty girl worried about hunting. She explained that she could not be less interested in hunting, that she had other reasons for learning to shoot. When he asked what they were she very boldly quoted a picture she found on the internet that she, and her mom, both like....... I could not have been more proud. I am hoping that this will discourage the neighbors son from comming around so much to LOL

 5. More lessons learned:   Just because a person might not be criminally guilty in his use of deadly force doesn't necessarily mean he is a good and favorable representation of all gun owners.  It is possible to be 'not guilty' and still be responsible for having been a dumbass who should have stayed in the vehicle.  Therefore, lesson learned:   Don't be a dumbass.  If there is no clear, imminent threat stay in the vehicle and let the cops sort it out.

 8. Getting involved in someone else' fight is an extremely dangerous thing to do....there is SO much that can go wrong you almost have to stay out of it.   Certainly, call 911 and explain the situation...be a GREAT witness if you can be.  But other than that I would not rush into help anyone unless I was ABSOLUTELY sure I was helping the "right" person.   Certainly, some situations are easier to know...when the two people are clearly mismatched (a man and a child or a man and a woman, etc) then it's safer to act but still not certain.

 9. I agree with Mr. Adams.  However, following a police officer's reasonable orders and being polite has nothing to do with servitude or of licking the hands that feed you.   This kid went looking for a confrontation and did his best to get one...he got his wish.   These DUI checkpoints have been found to be Constitutional; a finding I agree with and for the same reasons.  The extremely minor inconvenience of going through a checkpoint is not a violation of the fourth amendment.  The fourth protects us from UNREASONABLE search; given the 20,000 killed each year on our highways by drunk drivers, not to mention their accounting for almost 40% of ALL traffic accidents, this minor inconvenience on us is a very miniscule price to pay; and certainly not an unreasonable one.

 10. Just got a couple of OEM stocks redone to accomodate 2 rechambered and recrowned threaded OEM barrels. One threaded by Ruger one threaded locally. Both triggers break at about 2lbs, one is a Kidd, one I did. Both bolts are tuned too. I call them Blondie and Dagwood. I hope they both can beat MOA at 100 yards, which should be good for such light semi auto rifles.

 11. Since the prosecution has rested its case, most everyone has made up their mind on guilt, so let's turn to the lessons we (and everyone, frankly) should learn from this tragedy... from the different perspectives. VERY IMPORTANT: It's not necessary to KNOW what happened to learn something from what MIGHT have happened. Each side of this case has important lessons learned.   GZ: Never lose situational awareness. GZ: Never put yourself in vulnerable position when the police are on their way. GZ: Be prepared to be authoritative... and quickly.  "You got a problem with me?"   "I'm neighborbood watch captain; what are you doing here?" GZ: Do not do anything illegal when watching suspicious persons. (Not saying he did. It's just a good take away lesson for everyone if he did.)   TM: If a child is chased by an unknown person at night, get to a safe place. Find an adult or police. Call the police. Call a parent. For goodness sake, don't get distracted by talking to another teenager on the phone. TM: Never confront an unknown, suspicious person. You might be carrying fists into a gun fight. TM: As a kid, never get into an altercation with an adult. The authorities are going to believe the adult.   S. Fulton: Parents, for goodness sakes, give your kids some tough love if they get suspended. Teach your kids that actions have consequences. Set a curfew. Take away the phone for a week. Suspend phone service. Suspend internet service. It took a 5-minute google search to come up with these ideas, so there's probably better actions, but this is a start. S. Fulton: If your kid is doing something wrong, monitor their texts, tweets, emails, and facebook to see what the kid is up to.   I'm sure there are a lot more lessons we can learn from this. What are your thoughts?

 12.   I would have thought seriously about filing a complaint. That's different. You weren't poking him. I dislike bad cops as much as the next guy. Doesn't change the fact that this kid was baiting them, and may have received a similar response from any LEO.

 17.   Just so you are aware you are not guaranteed any First Amendment right of freedom of speech here.   You are NOT allowed to say whatever you want here under the guise of the First Amendment here. The First Amendment protects you from government abuses. We are a private entity and as such we can edit, delete or do whatever we want with your posts here and you have ZERO recourse. In the same way you can limit what someone can say in your living room of your home we can limit what you say here. We are generally tolerant of what people say but that is OUR choice, not your right.   As far as reporting the guns stolen you could have found yourself in some trouble legally. The gun was not stolen and by reporting it stolen you would have filed a false report. It was a civil matter, not criminal, and trying to get LE and the courts involved in a civil matter is wrong no matter what they did or didn't do to your gun.   I know how frustrating it can be but involving LE in matters they should not be involved in is not the way to go.   Welcome to the board.

 18. Probably the best most general thing I would suggest is call the Popo, then make sure to holler that the police are less than a minute out. That should stop most folks from doing what they're doing. If someone was in that category of great bodily harm or death I would not be able to face myself in the mirror if I did not intervene.

But judge not lest thou be judged as I know there are no perfect people on here, but if there is then by all means cast the first stone. 21. Excellent point.   For reasons none of them can explain in any logical or scriptural way, many so-called Christians have an extremely high tolerance for some "sins" and no tolerance for others...a 5'2" 400lb Christian who has been divorced 5 times with two kids (he knows of) out of wedlock can be in Church every Sunday with nary a word being said about his lifestyle -that same Christian will be up in arms if a homosexual dares set foot in "his" church.  The hypocrisy is enough to choke an elephant.

 27. Fair enough, I guess my point is this - do you consider tolerating a sinful behavior the same as celebrating? There are tons of sinful behaviors that are widely tolerated by the church (both Catholic and Protestant), so where is the line drawn? Further, are you wanting a theocracy in the US or are you wanting equal freedoms applied to all consenting adults?    These aren't 'gotcha' questions, they're very real issues we as Christians have to deal with. I love my neighbors who are separated and cheating on each other just as I did when they were together. I also love my alcoholic friends, and those who are gay. I just try to love my neighbor and let God handle salvation / condemnation. Does that make me wishy-washy?

 32.   Any amount of an illegal substance in your body that is detectable is a high amount.   But, to specify; there are multiple types of testing performed.  One is for the inactive "11-nor-9-carboxy-thc" which is the metabolite left over from the oxidized THC - this is the inactive type that basically plays no role in the level of intoxication. The other tests are for "11-oh-thc" and "11-cooh-thc" which when both are detected, that means intoxication is very likely and the consumption was recent.   Have to remember all of these will come into play, because this wasn't a simple EMIT urine test showing a simple level - the blood tests show everything... so a "low level" of THC, isn't necessarily a low level - it could be an extremely high level of oh and cooh, and still show a low overall level.   *had to reference the specifics of that online, it's been about 10 years since I've done any classes on it.

 33. You can get pulled over and be polite and answer questions asked with respect and honesty but this particular cop has a problem and the night he pulled me over he just kept on trying to push my buttons so that I would say something wrong or he don't like. There's no need for that and I didn't appreciate his demeanor but what was I to do? Best thing is just don't talk to them don't answer questions because they seem to have there mind made you're doing wrong or you're lying. sent from my RAZR Maxx HD using Tapatalk 2

 35. There's a good point. Knowing the facts first. No one wants to get involved in a marital dispute and god forbid you get in between two brothers fighting or something. Now, if you happen to be there when poop goes down, might be different but even still. Find cover, call 911 get your wife out safe. I've told the wife in conversations about active shooters, my handgun is for one purpose and one purpose only. To get YOU in my truck alive and the heck outta dodge. Plowing over bushes and spinning a main bearing if I have to. Cars are easily replaced and mine have full coverage insurance and factory warranties so pour it to it.

 36.   Sorry, I don't have the time or money to go to court to teach the cop what he should already know. There are a ton of laws and I don't expect cops to know all of them, but I expect them to know most, and I certainly expect them to be fully aware of what a citizens civil rights are.

 37. Well, I got good news today. I had 3 interviews at Walmart in Manchester. And after the drug test( which i should pass) i am supposed to be called for orientation. So hopefully everything will work out. I'm not saying wal-mart is my dream job or the best offer but in my experience, Once you get hired one place it seems the rest of the places start calling you for employment. Still a job is a job. and money is money.   Yeah that's right, Imight get to find out where they store and hide all that ammo someone has been hoarding at Wal-mart.
