I thought the response was wholly appropriate. A ridiculous action deserves a ridiculous response. When people act or say something that is just plain stupid (like this motion by the ADA) it should be treated with the amount of contempt and dismissiveness that it deserves. To treat ridiculousness as reasonable and valid only makes it appear as if it really is reasonable and valid. I think that's how we have allowed the PC police to gain the power they have when we should have been treating them as the idiots they really are.5 points

Ah, but 'minorities' are called 'minorities' for a reason. Supposedly, it is because there are 'more' white people (majority) than any other, single 'race' (minorities.) If, then, there are more white people it would simply stand to reason that a larger number of CEOs, etc. would be white because the 'pool' from which such individuals are chosen would be weighted simply by the percentage of overall society that they make up. So, what you are saying is that unless such positions were somehow skewed to hire more people of a group who make up a smaller percentage of society as a whole then the group that happens to be the largest has an unfair advantage? Unless, of course, 'minorities' aren't really 'minorities', at all. Early in the last decade there was a study that found that, at the time, there were more black males in prison than in college. Some people saw that as an indictment of our society and as evidence of how we had 'failed' that segment of society. I have to wonder, though, if it is indicative of a societal problem or if it just might be that the particular black males in question would rather commit crimes than do the work necessary to attend and graduate college. To me, it would seem that the onus to change the pattern would fall on the black males who are committing crimes and ending up in prison rather than those of us who aren't committing crimes and aren't going to prison. That is not to say that there aren't plenty of lazy, white criminals or that there aren't plenty of hard-working, law abiding minorities. However, it is often said that the simplest answer is usually the correct one and in this case the simplest answer is that if an individual is more likely to go to prison than college then that is probably because the individual in question is more likely to commit the type of crime that would land that individual in prison than to do the work needed to be a college student/graduate. I refuse to shoulder any blame because someone would rather be a thug than go to class nor will I fall victim to 'white guilt'. I came from a background of a family that was definitely not affluent. My father's parents made him drop out of high school his junior year to help support his brothers and sisters. He didn't want to drop out but his parents forced him to do so. Even at that point, he had already been working for several years as he started working pulp wood with his father somewhere around the age of twelve. My mom completed high school and that was as far as she went. I am the first person in my immediate family to have graduated college. I worked while attending college - sometimes a full 40 hours a week while carrying a full class load. I have cousins who did not attend college but who are honest, hard working individuals who do not attempt to make a living through crime and then blame others for it. I also have cousins who are in to drugs, some of whom have been to jail for theft and other crimes. All of them are white males who lived in rural areas. There were no bleeding heart programs to keep them out of trouble or tax-dollar backed initiatives to help steer them to an academic path. Still, they chose their paths and they are to blame for the outcome, not society. I could have fallen into that pattern and used my background of coming from , basically, poor white trash as an excuse I suppose but I instead chose to go a different route. Partly this was because of my own personality and largely this was because my parents wanted something different, for me and because of the support and guidance I received from my parents and maternal grandmother. Even now, with two Bachelors degrees and a Masters degree I am not exactly making piles of cash or receiving societal accolades but I am also not knocking over liquor stores or making meth. Statistics can be presented in such a manner to support just about any argument. As the saying goes, there are lies, damned lies and statistics. For me, I'll take the reality I have lived over a bunch of meaningless statistics. The whole idea that I was or am somehow 'privileged' because of my skin color or my gender is utter B.S. and honestly it makes me angry every time I hear someone trying to claim such nonsense.3 points

Smith and Wesson 442. 5rds of 38sp +p It's a little thicker than other options, but pockets well for me with a good holster. I use a black hills leather holster. Long smooth DA trigger, same every time - it's consistent and accurate. :2cents:3 points

This is going to sound harsh.... This is because it needs to be harsh...... This was not an accident..... This was negligence on both of you. There is a reason that professionals and trained individuals will always Unload and Show Clear to demonstrate the safety of any firearm that they hand to someone else. The person accepting the firearm must also verify the unloaded and cleared state of the firearm. Rule # 1. All Guns Are Always Loaded - - - AND you must ALWAYS account that others WILL NOT understand that.2 points

Been waiting to say anything, because I wanted to give it some carry/target time. I've carried it daily for two weeks, shot it about 100-150 rounds now. Personally, I've never owned a better .45. Slim enough, 10 + 1 rounds, extremely accurate. No hiccups of any kind. And I'm really liking the American made aspect. Really itching to try an SR9 now. I like the pointability, the trigger, the fit, finish... everything. Just a great .45.1 point

240,000 rounds of this stuff is absolutely nothing. This is basically a paintball gun and paintballs and on a single day at a field, one person can run through 2,000 in just a few hours. I would have honestly expected a lot more, but it may have a short lifespan like paintballs too so they may be doing frequent purchases.1 point

It was a really good match there was a mixture of all kinds of stages something for everyone there was a couple steel stages and one of them had 32 pcs of steel seems like there was a few shooters that run out of ammo before they neutralized all the steel, there was also a blind stage no previews at all which was different that was a really fun stage. One thing that impressed me was the stages were designed for all levels of shooters and still be challenging for the better shooters they had some good BBQ and fixing for lunch. All the SO's done a great job I think everyone had a good time The best part is there's going to be a pretty good Christmas for several children this year and thats what its all about anyway.1 point

I bought 5 KCI 15 round 19 mags in 2010 for $6 each. They have been my sole IDPA/USPSA/training magazines for 3 years. I haven't had one magazine related failure in the thousands and thousands of rounds that have been put through them. Last year I bought 1000 rounds of steel cased Tula and I noticed that when I was unloading my magazines with my thumb after a match that they were sticking down in the magazine body and not coming up hard against the lips of the magazine. Though it never caused any problems while shooting I, like Prag, changed the KCI springs out for Wolff extra power springs. They have been great magazines, I wish I had bought 20 of them at $6. Edit: If it was Spiffys wet dream zombie apocalypse, I wouldn't hesitate to load these up and mix them in with my factory magazines.1 point

Rather than trash cans I would use plastic 55 gallon barrels. They are a lot thicker and will last a lot longer. You can generally find them on Craigslist for under $20 a barrel. I know a guy in my area that has 55 gallon and 12 gallon barrels. I have bought about a 1/2 dozen barrels from him so far. I would not be hard to rig up a sand filter either and have the water go directly into the sand filter. That way the water is ready use.1 point

A common misconception. Stop wasting money on interest charges and just pay the bill. As tanker said, a loan officer will look more closely at your income to potential debt ratio than anything else. Don't get a card with a huge limit. If you've got a card with a $30k limit (or 3 $10k cards), that means you could rack up that much debt without the loan officer knowing about it.1 point

I prefer the phosphated BCG's as well because they hold protectants and oils better than anything else. The CMT bolt carrier is the best I have seen on the market in a long time. The BCM/PSA BCG is milspec, which is a minimum standard, while the CMT goes above it by using a 9310 bolt. 8620 IS Milspec for the CARRIER. Carpenter 158 IS Milspec for the bolt. But that does not mean that the Carpenter 158 is better than the 9310 bolt because it isn't. The Carpenter 158 bolts are probably the cheapest way to meet the Milspec standards so that is what most manufacturers use when they must meet the standard. But do not assume that because the 9310 bolts are not Milspec that they are junk because it is just the opposite, the 9310 bolts are better than the Carpenter 158 bolts. But Carpenter 158 bolts are not junk either, just that the 9310 is a better bolt even if it isn't Milspec. Milspec is a minimum standard, it is not a standard to imply that the part is the best but rather that it met the minimum to meet the standard. Milspec is like a passing grade on a school test not acing it. A "D" may be passing but it is not as good as a "A". Milspec standards are also there to ensure compatibility between parts. But just because something isn't Milspec doesn't automatically mean it is junk because there are tons of parts out there that do not meet the Milspec standard that are very good. There are plenty of great stuff out there that is not milspec. Take ANY billet lower or upper receiver for example. They are often better dimensionally than most forged uppers but because the Milspec standard says they must be forged a billet setup does not meet the milspec standard. Or take a melonited barrel, they are far better than any chrome lined barrel but it does not meet the Milspec standard because the standard says the barrel must be chrome lined and phosphated. Or how about Noveske's polygon barrels, they are way better than any milspec barrel but they do not meet the Milspec standard. Or the fact that most Magpul products are not Milspec but in most cases they are better than the Milspec equivalent. The list goes on and on with items that do not meet the Milspec standard but are better than the Milspec equal. In the end I think the bolt carrier being 8620 and the bolt being 9310 makes the CMT BCG as good as any bolt carrier out there and better than those BCG's made to the Milspec standard. At $116 it is a great deal and even at $169 it is a fair price. You will not be able to find the same bolt anywhere else for the same price. CMT was selling these for a lot less as a favor to the members of TGO.1 point

Amen. Everything I've ever read indicates that credit cards are much less of a risk and hassle after getting hit than some debit card accounts can be. As Robo just mentioned, look at what he had to do even though he had "account protection" he paid extra for. Credit cards are great, as long as you don't use them for loans. Matter of fact, they'll give you free money back. Really, money in your pocket you'd never have otherwise, just for buying what you would anyway! - OS1 point

I guess that's accurate counting all registered voters? But regardless, consider the larger stat -- something like 110 million who were eligible didn't vote. The question though, is whether it would have made any difference in the outcome if all of them were registered and also voted, seems likely to me that BHO would simply have won by a much larger margin. - OS1 point

I always thought it is better all around when scumbag killers like him get taken out during the commission of their crimes, of course it's bad for the cop or citizen who has to kill them but no more tax payer money is wasted on them, very little media time is spent on them. They are gone and society is a little better for it and you can forget they ever existed.1 point

I imagine the office asked her to unload it as an alternative to taking possession of the weapon for the duration of the stop which is something the law specifically allows for reasons of "officer safety". My question to the officer would be to ask how having me handle my weapon helps increase his safety? Wouldn't the weapon staying put in its holster be a much safer course of action for everyone involved?1 point

I had a Tec 9 about 7 or 8 years ago or so and went as far as drilling and tapping for a small rail for the reddot. It was a fun toy. For the most part, it worked though it did choke pending on the ammo used. It liked the +p stuff for reliability but didn't like any type of SD hollow point ammo. I wasn't good for much other than a great conversation piece at the range. The AP9 I had was a much better pistol then the Tec9 was and was more reliable on your basic 115gr stuff. Still nothing more than a range toy. I ended up selling them both on here a long time ago. They were fun and nostalgic but utterly worthless.... I got mine during the peak of the craze. The LGS had just put it on the shelf like a couple minutes before I got there ( was near closing time). I was the last to leave because the background checks were taking like 2hrs they were so backed up. I was in a line of guys waiting. It was after their closing hours before my background cleared. I got there just in time and also before he started raising his prices. Wasn't long after that until he was price gouging like the rest of them. $1999 was still below the MSRP on Sig's site at the time because I recall it being $2,100-ish. The ODG Sig's don't have the stock with Sig Sauer on them. It's the same Magpul branded stock and Magpul MIAD grip you'd get if you ordered a Magpul. My cleaning kit came in a like a nice army green colored nylon pouch. It also came with 1 Magpul 20rd Pmag. No carry case and I don't think Troy makes this rail, but have nothing to back that up except that all the Troy rails I've seen are of better fit and finish than what comes on the Sig 716. If you look close at the top center where the rail meets the receiver, it does not line up perfectly (a little lower than receiver) and every 716 I've picked up has the rail in the same place - not lined up height wise to the receiver. Rail fitment: I took that rail off and tried to see if I could align it properly, but it goes right back together the same once you TQ it down. MIAD grip: Stock: Anyway, the Ruger SR556 is nice. I recently did some work on my dads to make it more suited to what he's going to do with it, which is more or less a range rifle. Might get the Atlas bipod in the place of this Fab Defense grip-pod since it doesn't have a cant lock. Also plan a Surefire SOCOM brake and suppressor for it later. But here it is so far. Box stock: Part of the teardown: Before the scope & strapped in the case to see if it fit with new rifle stock: Done! If I were to get a SR-762. I'd probably set it up like I did this one above.1 point
