mosin-nagant: The Mosin-nagant is an old school bolt action rifle from Russia. Originally designed by a drunk Russian engineer and an even more drunk Belgian gunsmith, who drew up blueprints on napkins in the back of a pub somewhere in Siberia in a vodka-induced stupor. The Mosin-nagant fires the 7.62x54r cartridge, which can kill a polar bear at a thousand yards and keep going right through the tree he was standing in front of. The Mosin-nagant was used by the Russians in both world wars, so it's killed more Germans than collisions on the autobahn and under-cooked sauerkraut combined. Surplus Mosins can be found at gunshops in the States for like a hundred bucks on sale, and ammo is cheap surplus, so this is what real men shoot who don't want to drop $1299.99 on an AR-15 which fires a .22 round and that's made out of recycled milk jugs and Legos. Many of them come with a bayonet that's roughly the size of the sword William Wallace used in Braveheart. In the absence of gun oil, you can clean a Mosin by Urine down the barrel and wiping the bolt off with a dirty rag that you found on the floor in a Grease Monkey. Try that with a rifle that was designed less than 50 years ago. Joe: " I need a rifle that is ten feet long and fires anti-tank rounds, but Ive only got 200 dollars!" Ivan: "Amerikan comrade, you need mosin-nagant . Spend 100 on the rifle, fifty on case of ammo, use rest for vodka!" In Soviet Russia, rifle fire you!!!

I was at Walmart Customer Service 1 time when a woman came in and you could tell, she was not a happy camper. She was in one of these video's and wanted to see the manager. Man when they got face to face I would have given anything in the world to have had a video of that confrontation for sure. The Metro Police ended up escorting her from the store but I did over hear the manager tell the woman that is she does not want to make the Walmart Videos which are made by individuals and not Walmart maybe she needs to use a full length mirror before leaving her home to see how ridiculous she looked and do something to improve her appearance and man that was when she would have went postal on him if she would have had a gun. It took everything I could do to keep from busting a gut wanting to laugh but I didn't want to be her next target........... :biglol: :biglol:

I'm just glad someone shut him down before he ended up killing someone. i never let the buyer pick the place for the transaction. it takes place on my turf and I am always aware of the surroundings. I also watch the way the buyer is acting and I am always ready to react with my carry weapon and on many if not most of the times I have done deals I have a friend that is also armed go with me. Any time large sums of money or firearms sales are taking place everyone needs to stay crisp...............jmho

Who's Rob Sellers? The only sale I made like that was in the Shell station parking lot in the middle of the day. I'll choose a public place in the daylight if I ever do any more transactions.

I have a 3rd Gen iPad with Retina display. I would second QuietDan's suggestion wrt getting the model with more memory. That being said, I love my iPad and don't know how I did without it before.

2 1/2 years ago, owned 0 apple products.  Got a IPAD first, loved the IPAD.  Now we have 2x Ipads, 1x Iphone, and 2 Ipods.  My next computer will be a apple.  Very good stuff!

 Slightly off topic, but ammo isn't the only item WallyWorld is losing ground on. Goods store wide are going up or disappearing  altogether. If the trend continues, it'll be another Kmart.  JMHO

I like the shoes on the 686 no dash. Mine has plain Jane Pachmayrs on it. Easier on the hands at the range is the only benefit.

I only deal with friends and TGO folks. Craigslist gives me the creeps. This guy still had a really bad business plan. Just a matter of time before somebody capped him.

  Sadly...that is not true. I wish I did have more of the Smith wheelies. I've trade for several model 64. 65, and 66 guns over the years and foolishly let them get away from me.   I'd sure like to add a 67 to the family though, and maybe a K-22 and k-48. Oh heck...I'd like to add a lot more.

I pretty much ONLY deal with TGO members, and yes I know that is no guarantee of safety.   But NO way in hell do I meet someone I don't know unarmed.

I'm so proud of my 14 year old daughter. She attends a private school. Her school requires all 8th grade students to do a 25 hour project and log their hours. I helped her with a couple of difficult cuts on the angle grinder and router but she did most everything on this. She even demonstrated it outside of her school. Her teacher was so excited to give it a try as soon as the teacher shot it she said "Well you'll be getting an A!". Other teachers heard about it and came out to give it a go. This was her project: -Stock is 2x4 pine -Trigger and mechanism is a flat piece of steel cut and bent after she heated it with a blowtorch. -Bow is a piece of 1" PVC heated and flattened then reheated and bent to shape. (People on the interwebs are getting 150lb draw on 1 1/2" PVC so we went with 1" -String is 550 paracord -bolt is an oak dowel rod with a penny ground into an arrow shape and packing tape fletching. ( I actually made this arrow, she made two like it with foam on the tips in case they wouldn't allow her to shoot the sharp one) Yup, my daughter rocks! -southernasylum

Figured I'd update this for anyone that actually wondered about my Wally World federal 100 round bulk .223 problem. It was in fact that ammo. It was driving me nuts so I went out and put over 100 rounds of various ammo through that weapon with zero trouble. I didn't have any steel case to throw in the comparison but I can say for sure that this stuff, at least the box we got, is weak

'57 Gillette flare tip '62 Gillette Slim adjustable set on 7 (my favorite so far) Merkur Futur set on 3 (this thing is heavy and can be adjusted to be very aggressive,the head is a little bigger so it takes a little finesse close under the nose) I like this one alot. Worth the $$$ to me. Feather blades inexpensive Escali badger brush Proraso Green shave soap then cold water to rinse my face. Alum bar gets rubbed across shaved areas then Proraso Green aftershave is applied. First pass is always with the grain,Second is across the grain.And once a week I'll go against the grain. I shave every other day.   I found everything I have on Amazon except for the Gillette's and got them on Ebay. I tried the Korean Dorco 301's but they were horrible for me. Egyptian Crown's were a little better. Shark were on par w the Crown's. Been looking to try the Gillette Silver & US Personna's . So far Feather has given me the best results.

I've had a iPad Air since December and I love it. Of course, there are still things that are easier on a laptop but the gives me reason to have both. After using Windows since Windows 3, it does take some getting use to but once you figure out how to use it you can take it anywhere. I can carry it in my EDC backpack and have internet just about anywhere I go. As a matter of fact, I'm making this post from a iPad.

There simply is not a more versatile handgun made than a good-quality 4" barrel .357 revolver.  It is pretty much capable of performing any task you could ask a handgun to do. Cheap Plinking - inexpensive .38spl reloads can make destroying cans as cheap as the current cost of .22lr. Self Defense - Most sources agree that the 125gr .357 HP rounds are about the most effective handgun rounds available. Concealed Carry - A bit on the largish size, but most folks can carry a 4" .357 pretty well. Hunting - Everything from squirrel to deer depending on the cartridge used. Target Shooting - A well-made .357 revolver is among the most accurate handguns available. Training - New shooters learn easily with light .38spl loads.  The same pistol can then be used for all the above purposes with appropriate ammo.   As mentioned above, quality revolvers keep their value well.  And the better ones are appreciating nicely.  The used Colt Trooper III I bought 10years ago for $250 will now sell for close to $750.  And if I do my part, it will work just as well for generations to come.

In my experience it could already be in the mail. PSA is terrible with updates. I attribute that as balance for their awesome prices.

    In my experience with PSA... that's completely normal.  Sometimes its a couple days, sometimes it's a couple weeks.  You will get it eventually.

I am as well. I also offer to ride shotgun with any of my friends if I know they are going to a deal. Even if they are armed, a second set of eyes, more than one armed person, and also the hopes that if anyone was froggy, that they may change their mind. I feel a little less paranoid meeting anyone on here, but I don't do anything extra when going to any meet because I stay armed. Just hope I never have to say "Whew, thank God I had it". Stay safe my friends.

Wife and I have been to Hawaii 2x now in the past 12 years.  Once on our honeymoon and again on our 10th anniversary.  Simply loved it!  On our first trip, we spent 3 days on Oahu, Pearl Harbor and Waikiki Beach.  We then spent the next 4 days on Maui, Kaanapali area.  Both were just breath taking!  We did try the road to Hanna, but failed due to car sickness!   On our 2nd trip to Hawaii, we took the 3 kids with us!  We spent 5 days on Maui, and 2 days on Oahu.  If it was not for the kids, we would have avoided Oahu, but it would be a shame and injustice to visit Hawaii for the 1st time and not visit Pearl Harbor.  We did make the trip to Hanna this time!  Very pretty, but Hanna itself wasn't that great, but the scenery going and beyond Hanna was outstanding!  Our flights were not really that long, we drove to Atlanta vs. flying from knoxville, I saved about $300 per person, and there were 5 of us!  Our flight from Atlanta to Los Angeles was about 4 hours, we had a 1 one hour lay over, and our flight from L.A. to Kahului was about 5 hours.  You must go to a Luau.  The food and atmosphere is outstanding!  If you are penny pincher, then I don't recommend going to Hawaii.  Milk is $8-$10 gallon, gas was $5 gallon, and everything was just high.  We really liked Hawaii and I did consider a "what if" I could find a job, knowing cost of living there is extremely high, but after I read about the gun laws, there is no way!

Forgot, I've been chipping at a review log as I've tested blades over time, here's what I have so far with about 15 more brands in the stash to still try out (mostly Russian left, so expect lots of good ones). Only doing 3 shaves with each, usually with a 2-3 day growth, as I don't have to shave every day.   ---------------------   Astra (Russian): Great for 3 shaves, felt so good went for a 4th also, just fine. So far right up there with Crystal as best all around, and as a bonus are among the least expensive also. Crystal (or Israeli Personna) (Israel): Just aces for three shaves, and quite good fourth one, but pretty sure further ones would be significantly degraded. From all reports should be about as good as the best, will revist down the road. CVS Branded (USA): Some say these are actually the US Personna, (they do say made in USA on blades), and after 3 great shaves I'd say they are right, performance just as excellent as the Personna Blue, defintely could have gone with at least another shave or two. Of course, these cost more CVS (5-6 bucks for 10), but it's something to keep in mind if you're ever out of blades or out of town, whatever, and need some quality blades on the quick. Derby Extra (Turkey): Have more experience with these babies than many of the others, as one pack came with my first Edwin Jagger (and had gone ahead and grabbed a 100 pack in additon, figgering EJ must think highly of them). Well, I guess I'd give them an overall B. Mainly because some seem to be A- and some C, meaning, just in the 10 or so I used, they just aren't consistent between blades. The good ones are more than adequate, the sub par ones are well, just that. DG Branded (Dollar General-Made in Korea): Got a decent first shave, but suck pretty bad, felt very rough, gave up during second shave, who needs to go on with so many fine ones around? A buck for 5 blades, use only in emergency. Wonder if made by Dorco? Haven't tried my Dorcos yet, have two different editions,  we'll see if about the same or what. Dorco (Korea): This was the biggest surprise in my testing so far! First let me say this blade is in white plastic blade bank, package has insert over top blade that says "stainless blade" with a red corner notation that reads "NEW Platinum ST-301. The blades are in orange and white single wrap with the "made in Korea" on them, otherwise that is not notated anywhere else. The blades themselves only have a poorly printed "Dorco" in oval and "stainless blade" on them. Next, let me say these seem to be almost on par with my best rated blade experiences. Smooth, sharp, wore well over the three shaves. Certainly could have gone another shave or two without undue discomfort. Dorco (Vietnam): These are in paper box, double wrapped blades, box shows picture of blade and says "stainless blade" and "NEW Platinum ST-300. The blades are double wrapped. The blade itself has different logo presentation than the Korean made above, has a stylized D and word Dorco not in an oval. Figured would be made on similar equipment with similar specs with the Korean made ones, or wouldn't even have Dorco name at all, right? WRONG! 180 degree differece. In a word, these suck. First shave, not great from first stroke, and I swear the blade was losing ground with every new stroke. Didn't even try a second shave. Gillette Nacet (Russia): 3 pretty decent shaves, seemed edge held up consistently for all three. Feather (Japan): What can I say about Feather that hasn't been said before? None are apprently sharper. Held up great for three shaves, virtually identical, but started feeling a bit of drag on fourth. One drawback that if you don't have a great surface complexion, can slice right through bumps, moles, zits, whatever rather than tending to glide over them -- I got a small weeper or two on two shaves, which is rare with the Jagger razor's middle of the road aggression. Certainly right up there overall with any blade made, but the other drawback is that you'll pay over double the price of say Astra or Crysal for essentially the same results. Gillette Super Blue (Russia): Great first shave, pretty good second, fair third. The blade just didn't seem to hold up well, something I didn't expect from one you pay somewhat of a premium for. Odd thing was it stayed smooth for all three, but just didn't cut as closely as it aged. Kroger Branded (Israel): Huge dissapointment! Figured if made in Israel, would be in ballpark of the Crystal or whatever. Absoultely wrong, these sucked worse than the Dollar General blades. Even tried two of them, gave up after one shave (barely). No redeeming qualities whatsoever. Lord Platinum (Egypt): 3 good shaves, maybe not as good as Crystal but seemed very consistent between all three shaves, no real complaints. Lord Super Stainless (Egypt): No noticeable diff between these and the Platinum, more than adequate for my 3 shave test. Personna Blue (USA): Excellent, right up there with Astra and Crystal, top tier go to blade. Sharp Hi Chromium Durablade:(Bangladesh, "made on machinery from UK, from imported Swedish steel"). Yeah, whatever.  Sucked, tried two, quite poor, couldn't get two decent shaves out of either blade. Shark Super Stainless (Egypt): Made by Lord, has "super stainless" on blade. I'd rate these pretty much on a par with the Lord Platinum above, which is to say quite acceptable, three shaves ranged from quite good first to still quite adequate third. Shark Super Chrome (Egypt): Perhaps only a subjective delusion, but used this right after the one above, and seemed to hold sharpness just a bit more consistently between all threee shaves, overall very good to fine blade. Wilkinson Sword (Germany): Right up there with the best, sharp but smooth, 3 great shaves and a pretty good 4th. Cost a bit more than some of my other top choices.     - OS

There are many flavors of "9mm" but only one 9mm Luger (or 9mm Parabellum, 9x19mm, 9MM NATO or whatever other names it's been called).  You're buying the right bullets.   Pay close attention to the 9x19mm part.  There are also 9x17 (.380 ACP), 9x18mm (9mm Makarov) and others that are longer than 9x19mm (like 9x23mm, or Largo as it's called).  They are not compatible.

For all the above reasons, and more; I would resist this sort of mechanism. It's just another back door effort towards restricting the use and ownership of firearms.

  Ah, as long as we are dreaming just go ahead and go for one in the 1.21 Gigawatt range.  The beam will go back in time and kill the assailant before he threatened you.  Or it might make Michael J. Fox disappear.  I'm not really sure which.   But back to 'reality', I think that the .32 (was it .32 H&R Magnum?) break top pocket revolver that NAA was going to make a few years back sounded interesting.  I guess I wouldn't be 'inventing' that as I believe NAA actually built a couple of prototypes.  Kind of the same with the 28 gauge revolver that Taurus was going to produce - although I am not sure if they got as far as making prototypes or not.

Oh... and a short lever gun that can shoot .45 Colt, .454 Casull, .460 S&W Magnum, or .410 shotgun shells! 

Whiskey covered it about as good as it can be. And if hunting public land, ALWAYS, ALWAYS and ALWAYS be prepared for another hunter to get between you and your bird and killing it while you are calling it in! Or you setting up on and calling a Turkey that someone else is working!   SAFETY! SAFETY! SAFETY!   Dave
