  1. Here are a few from my honeymoon from Niagra Canada and all points north. I like night time photography and landscapes. A big fan of the manual focus.

  2. My daughter Shayelan has been a guard at the Newport jail for a while now with the plan of becoming a Police officer, and Sheriff Fontes told her today that he is going to make her a reserve deputy for and if she does a good job and get good reports from her supervising officers the county will send her to police academy in October. I am very proud of her, she is a single mother who works 2 jobs to support herself and my Granddaughter and really deserves a good break. So if your in Cocke County next year and get pulled over by a pretty blond cop tell her to say hi to her daddy John for ya it might get you out of a ticket lol

  7. The 2 best tapes were far and above Darryl and Carol. I lost it when Darryl was standing there in her living room with that possum still in his hand, then Carol comes out dressed like June Cleaver talking about making casseroles and meeting the neighbors. This was the funniest episode they've ever done.

  9. I'm picking up various smaller fixed-blade knives lately and this one just arrived on Friday. I specifically hunted down the NIlox steel version of the DPx H.E.S.T. II because I wanted something with corrosion resistance that would hold an edge fairly well. There are other versions of this knife that don't use a stainless steel and instead rely on their powder coated blades and your common sense to keep them wiped down with oil to prevent rust from forming. I haven't bothered to see if anyone else on here has posted about the HEST or HEST II so pardon me while I just drop some knife porn...

  12.   Yep, funny to us, but a believable story for the Congresswoman, followed up by living the lie in a cardigan. It makes her a great sleeper agent. They have no idea that she's the most dangerous and unpredictable one.   I could see the group owning the whole place after Carol secretly poisons them all with casseroles. Rick would just be standing there dumbfounded.   She played up the sweet den-mother thing from start to finish. Notice how she made herself look so awkward taking her rifle off and putting it in the pile, like she was uncomfortable even handling a firearm.

  16.   The ammo tax also helps pay for the ranges TWRA administrates, so others have a place where they can practice shooting.    If you're going to get into a different forum, fine, your loss, not ours.  But if you plan to stay around, enjoy our community, and benefit from it, I would suggest you don't come into someone elses house and proceed tell them what's what, immediately after saying hello.

  17. kinda stupid.   If they really want to push it they should develop a skit making fun of mohammad in some way. Maybe an art school scene where their only teaching is how to draw mohammad cartoons. now that would be funny.

  23. "to kill massive amounts of people very quickly."  Preaching to the choir....   This is the propaganda that the anti-gun people are spewing all over the media. First of all they are talking about the M-16. The AR-15 is a semi-automatic version not used by the military. Most importantly, the M-16 was NOT DESIGNED TO KILL! It was designed to save soldier's lives and win battles. The M-14 was designed to kill. They didn't care how heavy it was or how fierce the recoil was or how heavy the 7.62 ammo was. They just wanted a rifle that would deliver 5000 ft/lbs of muzzle energy and be accurate up to 800 yards.  The M-16 was the first rifle in U.S  history designed with the soldier in mind. It was light weight, low recoil with lighter smaller rounds so you could carry more ammo. It was designed to cover 0-300 yards. We have other weapons that will reach out to 800 yards. So to say that the AR-15 was designed to kill is just  wrong. It is the son of a rifle that was designed to save lives and win battles.

  25. Am I reading this right? Did you say you are going to SBR an 80% lower? That seems counter to why 80% lowers are built... As for your mk12 build and 416 or other barrels. It is a myth that 416ss barrels are more accurate. The barrel manufacturing process is more important than whether or not it is 416, 410, 4140 or 4150. 410 and 4150 are your stronger steels, and will typically last longer than 416 or 4140. Decide how much you are willing to gamble/spend for a highly accurate barrel and then shop for a manufacture that will provide you the barrel profile you want that fits your budget. Douglas, Krieger, Pac-Nor, etc... will be some of your higher end barrel manufactures that have a better chance of providing you an extremely accurate barrel. However, if all you are looking for is sub-moa, your options really open up. Good barrels for 1moa or less: Wilson Combat, Stoner, Brownells, Rainer Select, Prairie Tactical, Saturn (know to make Brownells), and much, much, more. Remember, the lighter the barrel profile, the easier it is to carry, but the more likely it is to start walking (or becoming less accurate) after it starts to heat up. I have seen many a gun that fires a great 3 round group in under a .5 inches, but if not allowed to cool off some, round 4 and five really open it up to about in inch or greater. Decide what your goal is for the rifle and what your budget is, and get the barrel that is right for you. There are a lot of really good articles online that go into some very detailed depth about barrels. Also, don't overlook the trigger. For my money, the SSA-E is the way to go for precision, but the RRA 2 stage, is a very good second in my opinion, and costs about 1/2 the price. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

  26. Carol playing little miss homemaker is the best strategic move I have seen in the show to date. She took out terminus almost single handed. The glock in the blender had a "J" burnt into the grip. We will see it come up again. The husband sitting on the porch smoking said,"Welcome to Alexandria," with more sarcasm than I have heard on the show. Could it be jealousy or the equivalent to,"Welcome to hell." There has to be more people than what we have seen. A dictator cannot survive without an army. The group is playing it safe. Darryl needs to back off and conform a bit. Just don't do as Carl suggested and become soft. If the ROTC guy is the toughest guy they have they are in trouble. He goes out on a run to play with a walker. Can you say stupid? The Alexandria group has no solid plan. They need to get one. By the way, where is Morgan. Did he give up his shadowing or could he be one of the exiled. JTM Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  28.     That's one of the reasons why I enjoy riding at a "spirited" pace.  It requires focus such that all other things must go away.  Having a singular focus, if only for a few minutes, is cathartic.  Those moments are important, more so in today's over-stimulated society.

  32. All guns are designed to kill, something.   Some are better at it than other, but the genesis of firearms was in battle to kill the enemy more effectively.   Humans being the crafty creatures we are discovered the practical and sporting applications in due time.   I'll end the caliber debate. Anyone who thinks a certain caliber is a crap round, volunteers to take said round to the chest, or at a minimum the thigh...    Ive yet to have takers all the way down to 22LR

  34. I just read on the Internet that the BATFE is now adding 550 paracord in with the M855 ban... something about people making ammo dump pouches that can potentially hold the banned rounds. Better run out and stock up on the 550 before it's too late.

  35. I used to be a paracord junkie. I had dozens of colors and 100's of feet of each. I actually started feeling like I had arthritis from making so much stuff. A good place to start is these 2 guys on YouTube: TIAT and Stormdrane. Here's a couple of the most recent things I've made: Personally, I'd rather work with the commercial grade paracord than the mil-spec stuff. It's more flexible and the ends melt more evenly. I got most of mine from ParaCord Planet. I wish they'd had this stuff when I was making stuff. It's got an added 8th inner strand that is treated with mineral oil, hydrocarbons, and other flammable substances, so that it can be lit easily with a spark.

  37. You should probably read "The Gun" by C.J. Chivers.   The US Army was looking for a weapon in the early years of the Viet Nam war that would enable soldiers to be mobile, quick, and deadly. They chose the Stoner design because it was available and they were in a hurry. Smaller rounds enabled more ammo per soldier. To say the M16 version wasn't designed to kill is a little disingenuous.

  38. As some of you may have noticed I have found a new addiction. I thought guns were all consuming, we'll let me tell you, what a ride! With a life long interest and some inspiration from some very talented individuals (thank you Grand Torino) the journey progresses. I only started this a little over five weeks and so far I have one completed and three more in the works. Two of them should arrive back from heat treat next week, and this one I finished up last night and will ship to heat treat on Monday. It is a blade of O1 steel, 1/8" thick. 9 1/2" overall with a 4 1/2" blade. Bottle opener and Pommel are incorporated in the blade design. This should be an AWESOME camp knife! The scales will be a brown/ black Micarta with decorative mosaic pins. Acid etched and stonewash will finish out the blade!! Here us a preview, feel free to critique! Jim

  39. I cut my teeth in photography by being a photographer on the Dragon for three years. I saw a lot of wild stuff and I literally have hundreds of pictures to prove it but this is one of my favorites from that time in life. This happened to be a personal friend of mine who walked away from this accident completely unharmed. He landed on the side of the road, stood up, and yelled at me "did you get that?" And that is why I'm a firm believer in wearing good gear while riding motorcycles.

  43. I don't mind gay people any more than I mind anyone else.  I don't support the lifestyle, I don't engage in the lifestyle, but what two men or two women do in the privacy of their own home is between them and God.  I just don't care to have to witness it.  Men or women.   The gay kiss and the fawning of Eric over Aaron was completely unnecessary and made both me and my wife gag.  The writers could have added gay male characters without gratuitous spit swapping and it would have been just as effective of a story-arc as what they have now.  It was done for (a.) shock value and (b.) to push the envelope of what is socially acceptable on television, period.   Anyone who wants to argue that 30-40 years ago it was just as edgy to feature interracial, white/black, kissing on TV -- for example -- is arguing from a disadvantaged position.  The parallel simply is not there from a biological perspective.  Someone else pointed out that the media is slowly shaping what the public is willing to deem acceptable, and I agree with that 100%.  Just beware that 30-40 years from now if the leftists have their way and keep eroding society's morals and ethics, someone may be having the same discussion we're having but instead of two men kissing and fawning over themselves, it could just as easily be a grown man and a 12 year old girl.   Today's taboos are tomorrow's topics of cultural diversity and inclusion unless people stand up for what's right.   The Walking Dead may have lost me as a viewer if they can't find a way to tell this story without two dudes graphically finding love inside of each other's sweaty, hairy butts.

  47. You know, it might just be their policy and the poor girl was doing what she was instructed to do.  Generally in a retail setting, front-line employees bend policy at their own peril.  It's not like they are normally "empowered" to arbitrarily change what forms of ID are accepted.   I never understand people who lose their composure with retail staff like this.  Ask for a manager if you're going to show your butt.  At least that way the person having to endure your demonstration of discontent might have some power to change something.   But hey, that's just my opinion based on (a.) having worked retail myself before and (b.) having two grown kids who work retail right now, so I have lot of empathy and a little sympathy for folks in that position.  The general public is full of otherwise-good people who truly believe that they, the customer, are always right, and will resort to completely dickish behavior in the blink of an eye to get their way.   Slamming them on Facebook for the fact that one employee, who may or may not have been doing exactly as she was told to do by her superiors, failed to meet your expectations (realistic or not) is pretty dickish in my opinion.  With as many outside forces are trying to put Pro-2A businesses under or squelch the Second Amendment entirely, we gun owners really need to abandon the practice of eating our own or we'll have nothing left to hand down to our children and grandchildren.

  49.   DAYEM Well put, buddy. Even with the brace fiasco, I'm still down for one of these. Heck. 90% of my guns are range toys anyway. I'm honest enough to admit that.   I used to think I was the hero type, saving people left and right in the coming apocalypse. Now I know that I'm the one whose food, ammo, and weapons are found by the young, fit, well trained survivor types.
