Haslam was grasping at the chance to gain National attention by forcing Medicaid Expansion in a Southern Conservative State. He purchased the seat at the head of the Republican Governors Assn. and has achieved Obama's Most Favored Republican Governor Status. Haslam has the centrist bona fides he and the milquetoast squishy Moderate Republicans think necessary to win, if they can just import enough entitlement seeking newbies to gain power, whilst holding on to the Conservatives. They know it is time to change ends of the court. He is headed to the Senate, having time there gives him international experience if he kisses enough rump to get the correct committee assignments, (and he will) he already has time in the saddle as an administrator of a State, (a large bureaucracy). He will have enough money to run, and has ties to the chamber as their boy to garner their help. He has the chips from running a huge company, so the business folks will fawn. Anybody that does not see the steps being taken does not want to.3 points

Dinner is long past, buddy. My latest attempt has be Korean BBQ chicken. Some times called dak qui or dak gogi. I have tried for 10 years to get that one correct and I am about 90% there. However the gochujang that I got last Fall in Ohio is all gone. I need to find some locally. With that said I have mastered bulgogi (Korean BBQ beef) and we have a few times a year. You want a heads up next time I make it?3 points

Any store that sells a pistol with a "clip" in the case is off my list. Idiots. And how nice of them, to package a $450 pistol in a $7 MTM handgun case for under $1,500! What a steal!2 points

Why don't you people buy ammo for calibers that you do need and leave the rest? That would go a long way towards stabilizing things.2 points

Here's the truth, anyone CAN carry a gun, and use a gun for violent crime, ANYWHERE in this country, and they do often..Thats why the good people of this state and country go thru the often times painstaking process of being able to LEGALLY carry a firearm for protection...Thats the truth the gun grabbers don't want to tell... I say too bad, you cant have our guns, because our constitution says you can't2 points

I think it would be worth losing too. And it would very beneficial, for the leadership to know the reason she lost and who caused it. Personally, I think the Republican Leadership in Nashville sees us as a necessary evil to be courted during the election and ignored the rest of the time. Its the same way the Democrats treat the African American and LGBT vote.1 point

The grand delusion of "Armor piercing". *scoff* People truly labor unr the delusion that AP ammo is the evil that defeats armor. First myth: .223 ammo is NOT armor peircing in the traditional sense. It's only function is to defeat soft armor worn by people. It's pretty sad when usd against ARMOR such as an APC or a tank. The old black tip '06 was meant to punch through concrete walls and LIGHT armor. Second myth: And this is something the left PROBABLY shouldn't be educated on. Punching a hole in armor is not the only way to defeat it. I highly doubt a .50 cal muzzle loader will penetrate a high quality Kevlar vest, I don't know. I DO KNOW, if hit by one and it doesn't penetrate....you STILL won't be in th action. 12g slugs, my .358 Winchester with a 230g cast bullet @ 2000fps....none of these penetrate quality vests. ALL of these will likely break ribs, crack a sternum, collapse a lung, rupture a spleen, cause cardiac arrest and who knows what else. Phrase of the day? Blunt force trauma. ....and as far as hard armor goes, insurgents have proven, the most rudimentary homemade weapon works wonders. Flammable liquid in a glass bottle. Armor is still intact sure but unless there's an on board oxygen supply, a blanket of fire will suck all the oxygen out of the armored structure/vehicle. Chances are, you WILL come out or die, thereby essentially defeating the armor. All these things are just moves in a chess match and anyone with a little common sense understands that.1 point

I almost got into trouble for this one. I used to refer to my brother-in-law's wife as his "future next ex." Did it so much I almost said it in front of her one day. The only thing that stopped me was my wife realizing that I was about to say it again and punching me to derail my talking.1 point

It's been a long while since I was there, probably 7 years. I went 2-3 times back then over several months. My impressions were: - just average size retail space, far from a high volume shop but not a tiny single counter either. Maybe a dozen glass cases and several walls full of long gun racks, the rest metal shelving with accessories. So overall selection just average. Now if size and selection alone turn you on, try Gander Mountain in Mt Juliet. - staff were available if I needed help but I never asked for anything, and they didn't approach me. It was slow each time, maybe 2-3 people shopping other than me (mix of weekday and weekend visits). - the prices were OUTRAGEOUS, so much higher than any other gun shop I'd ever been in. So much of a shock that I was left with the impression that they must be catering to a wealthy clientele that doesn't ever shop around to compare prices, and they were blatantly gouging folks on many items. It was because of point #3 that I left and never went back. Perhaps they have expanded and dropped their prices since then, but nearly all reviews I've ever seen about the place continue to give the same impression, so I don't plan to go back unless new evidence surfaces to warrant a long drive (doubtful).1 point

What you REALLY want is a Ruger Gunsite Scout Rifle. Available in either 7.62x51 or 5.56x45. Go for the 7.62 version.1 point
