Never having had or used a Facebook or Instagram account I'm of the "so what" opinion.5 points

I got sick of the traditional safes after years of them not fitting my needs. SBRs falling over, some too long, others too short, optics being odd sized, and of course the gun I need is always in the back. So I researched, found what I liked and paid it off (after some saving and selling what i would have put inside the safe) but still had to wait months until we moved into the new house for delivery. But it happened today. Ladies and gents i bring to you the Revolution XLT by Pendleton. I have to drill the concrete in the morning but I have to save it looks like my oddball guns should all have a home. I still need an internal storage solution for my silencers but at least my babies have a new home. It even has a spot inside to attach my security contact point and pressure plates. The internal leds are a nice touch. All in all I am pretty happy so far. I just need to recruit some friends to help me move this giant this weekend. Any of yall like pizza and beer? Ha! Don't watch it if you're incapable of understanding that vets really don't give a flying shit what other people think of their language, jokes or actions. If you are one of those people, stay far away. I can't wait to see it.4 points

Not sure exactly what we gave up. The prohibiting subjects of permanent protective orders, from my understanding, was already the law under federal law. And adding troopers at gun shows to do voluntary BG checks doesn't seem like losing anything. I would describe it as the VA Gov being thirsty and winning two empty buckets. But don't think that the VA ledgslature may not still come back in a few months and hit him with some pro gun bills as payback. He did a really stupid stunt to win nothing but more enemies.3 points

It is made from 5/32" 1095 carbon steel professionally heat treated to a RC of 59-61. OAL is 10" and blade is about 5 1/2". It's also double acid etched and has a very thin red liner, ebony and mesquite scales with mosaic pins and brass lanyard hole. It has some nice file work on the spine and will also come with a kydex sheath. It's found a home in North Carolina.2 points

I'm going to predict that this will become a cult classic for military vets, especially the Post 9/11 generation. Past that, I'm unsure and it seems the people who made it couldn't care less. Here's a behind the scenes video that's pretty cool to see. Don't let the link put you off, you don't need to log into Facebook to watch it. It's another NSFW masterpiece that makes me feel right at home. https://www.facebook.com/1037324099634240/videos/1122780104421972/ Watch the end of that link I posted above. :P2 points

Poor Monkey. He probably feels like your wife. I just ordered a G17 with NiBx slide. He just rolls his eyes. Secretly I think he's happy. But I could be wrong. I mean damn we have a safe, lets fill it.2 points

If you could have chosen just one machete it probably would have split the difference in the price ;) I sold quite a bit to pay for it, I told my wife its gonna look empty when I move everything over and I needed more guns to fill it up. She rolled her eyes and gave me the finger. But she didn't say no so I'm staying positive that that was a soft yes. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk2 points

Dropping recognition wasn't going to take effect until Feb. 1 in the first place, Jan was free and clear all along. Announcement supposedly today regarding negating the edict before it even takes affect. - OS2 points

My only question is where do we go from here. The left are masters of incrementalism. Put a man in a tub of water and slowly raise the temperature. Before you know it he's done.2 points

Someone correct me if I'm mistaken, but I believe this is one of several things VA docs are asking vets. Another is if you handle your own finances. I believe they are looking for ways to negatively classify vets in order to restrict their access to firearms.2 points

No it won't. While everyone is so obsessed with what Obama and the federal government is doing they've lost sight of the fact that the private companies that run this country are overwhelmingly anti-gun. The big money players in cyberspace, of which Facebook and their holdings are just one example, are owned by rabidly liberal, global, save the world types.1 point

Being a vet isn't a requirement, just understanding there's a difference is key. Or you could also sum it up by saying liberals such as Moms demand xanax and action for gun control, will probably not like this movie.1 point

Yeah, just means that supposedly you can't keep your guns as per state law in VA if you get that type of order of protection. 'Course, as poor as state enforcement is, doesn't mean they're gonna come check to see if you still have them, any more than the feds do. - OS1 point

Thanks for the invite guys. You know I'm a new shooter in the TGO area. Sam Henderson is in squad 5. Sam is the guy that knew how much I wanted a Nighthawk Custom 1911, so he gave me one. Hard to turn down a $3500 gun. Sam is a very special friend that I would like to shoot with. So, if you TGO shooters want to chip in for a new Wilson Combat 1911, I'll squad in 8.1 point

I have had a lot of fun in the shotgun pit at OK Corral! Laptops, guitars, toaster, printer... just tons of fun! Of course, bring a big ol' box to haul away any mess you make. :-)1 point

Unfortunately, there was a case waaaay back in the 1800s where a guy was arrested for carrying a Bowie knife and tried to argue the 2nd Amendment as well as the protection for arms under the Tennessee Constitution. The court found that a Bowie knife did not fall under those protections in this state. Interestingly, however, that was because the court was adhering to the REAL intent of the Second Amendment - the intent that citizens be able to defend themselves from a tyrannical government. Under that interpretation, the court found that - as it was not a regular, military type weapon the Second Amendment did not protect a right to carry a Bowie knife. Of course, if the courts were to take that stance, now, they'd have to admit the truth - that the Second Amendment not only doesn't legally allow the government to regulate or prohibit ownership of so-called 'military type' arms but that such arms are exactly the types of weapons that the Second Amendment and the Tennessee State Constitution protect. I think the modern courts would likely prefer to let people carry a Bowie knife (or a sword cane.) I think this might be the case to which I was referring - this case is from 1840: http://www.guncite.com/court/state/21tn154.html Notice that this phrase is actually included, even though the case was about a person carrying a Bowie knife or Arkansas toothpick: Also notice that carrying a rifle for deer hunting or carrying a handgun upon one's person for self defense was NOT considered to be 'bearing arms'!1 point

So Elijah Craig has now officially removed their 12 year age statement on their small batch bourbon. It will now be a small batch blend of 8-12 year bourbons. The bad news is the EC12 that we all know and love for the money is going away...the slightly good news is that i'd image we would see a bump in ECBP availability. I snagged a 1.75 of EC12 to hang on to for as long as I can stand it! RIP EC12...you will be missed!1 point

That's the correct answer. There is nothing in the HCP statute that says you must be 21 before taking the course, only 21 to apply for the permit, and within 6 months of course completion (which technically is a TNDOS ruling based on a similar statement within the statute regarding renewal). - OS1 point

Overall it was good, and apporiate, but this part annoyed me: It appears from your unconditioned revocation of reciprocity that a Tennessee resident holding a valid Tennessee permit for a concealed handgun could not even travel across Virginia to visit our nation's Capital without acquiring a nonresident permit from Virginia. Could this be true for Tennessee's Congressional representatives? As if they're the main concern here. They all fly to D.C.. None of them drive up I-81 to I-66 and waste 12 hours each way when their office funds cover travel. They also have reserved parking spots at BNA from what one former staff chief told me. They usually fly right into Reagan National and get a ride to their office, or just keep a car in their reserved parking spot at the Washington area airports.1 point
