  1. I don't even remember why he was banned at this point, but I thank him for the promotional consideration via his feed today. Undoubtedly people will visit TGO once they see his posting, if nothing else out of curiosity.

  2. It should be a question when new users register. How did you hear about TGO? - Another Forum - Friend of a Member - Google Search Results - James Yeager's "hate us cause they anus" post on Facebook.

  4. A 1970 Penny my boy found in 1973 on the ground. He was 3 at the time so when I told him that penny is good luck cause it's the year you were born he gave it to me and I carry it every day since.

  5. So it is no secret that my heathen was raised around guns. She has been shooting since she was four years old. She started with a single shot bolt action .22 rimfire rifle and has progressed to where she can and does shoot an AR at the range. As she turned 9 last year she was eligible for 4H Shooting Sports this season. We signed her up and her first practice was in April. At her very first practice her coach inquired as to her experience shooting. I explained that she had a handful of years under her and I hoped he didn't have to unteach too much of what I had taught her. To my mild surprise he stated that she was a pure natural and asked if she would be interested in shooting the first match of the season, less than two months away. The Heathen is right handed, but left eye dominant. I have raised her to shoot left handed rifle. I am also cross dominant and it has never hindered me to shoot off-hand to my dominant eye. The coaches embraced this and let her do her own thing. They are all very impressed with her. They call her a natural and have been teaching her on Target Air Rifle, Sport Air Rifle, Target .22 and Sport .22. She also shoots archery. With a recurve. Nearly alone in that discipline as nearly everyone else shoots compound (bare, hunting and target.) The coaches are awesome, and have gone as far as to special order her a left handed Target Air Rifle and a left handed Target .22. They have that much faith in her talent. And on to that talent. Saturday was a dreary rainy day in Kentucky. But it didn't stop her. It was her first competition with less than two months experience on a Target Air Rifle. She placed 3rd. We are beyond thrilled.

  6. Not sure if it's been done before. What is your '24/7 every time I'm wearing clothes' edc pocket knife? I've beecarryingng this Benchmade 556 Mini Griptilian every single day for the past 9 years. The only time it isn't in my pocket is on a plane. I've cut everything you can think I could possibly cut with it. It's dressed 6 hogs, 4 deer, 3 coyotes & 11 raccoons. I've spread mayo & mustard, opened countless boxes, un done screws, re tightened screws, opened a million snuff cans & popped the top of hundreds of beers. I'd rather let you have an hour with The Wife than 10 minutes with this knife.

  7. I don't mean this in my usual asinine jerk M.O. but why do we care what this gumby says? No, seriously is it just the intrinsic humor of being mentioned or does this guy's opinion really carry some weight cause other than the time or two he's been mentioned here with an accompanying video or something, I never heard of this guy. He's certainly not the topic of any discussion in any circle I find myself in. Chuck Yeager. Now there's a cool Yeager worth talking about. Jagermeister is pretty decent too.

  9. I'm seeing a theme here: I carried a Spyderco that I absolutely LOVE for 5 or 6 years until Willis ruined it for me. Now all I want to carry is my Protech Magic. Not only is it the highest quality steel I've ever owned, but the cool factor is over the top. I've never been happier with any of my EDC gear than I am with this knife.

  10. The reason is that any training you have had may come out in court and it can help you or hurt you. My concern about James Yeager isn't related to his training, which I'm not familiar with. It's more about a prosecutor talking about how my trainer lost his carry permit for talking about shooting people and any number of the other inflammatory statements he has made.

  13. I am thinking that the more likely scenario is that 8 of 9 shots missed their target and, since one of the errant rounds did hit a bystander, the NYPD doesn't want to admit that 'collateral damage' could have been much worse and so they are peddling this nonsense that the jacket stopped some of the bullets.. I am thinking that only one round penetrated the Carhartt jacket because only one round actually made contact with the Carhartt jacket. Instead of admitting that this was a failure of skill, training or whatever where these, two officers are concerned, however, New York's response will be an attempted ban on Carhartt jackets.

  14. Bad idea! I know for one I'd have to go create multiple accounts just so I could come up with reasons such as "Won George Zimmerman's gun online and he suggested this forum for teaching myself engagement scenarios" or "Met some guy named Leonard at a gunshow and he kept saying "TGO Sucks!" after each comment out of his mouth so I had to check it out to see what it was about". Another good one could be "Recently was introduced to regional mall security specialist (cannot reveal his name or identity as it may blow his cover) and he suggested I familiarize myself as much as possible with firearms to deal with situations and the like that I may encounter on my weekly trips to the mall. TGO was the first forum that popped up when Googling "local gun forums". I just cannot help myself...

  16. And because this will likely turn into a Yeager hater/fanboy thread I will say this. Yeager, at least more than any other single person, was responsible for me getting into contracting. I was a fanboy because most of what he said I agreed with. That was before the "incident". And I do not question his response to being shot at, none of us know how we will react under similar circumstances until we find ourselves under similar circumstances. What I do have a problem with is blaming everyone else, including the dead, in his AAR. M I wish him no ill will and I am glad he made lemonade out of lemons.

  20. Per Harry Turtledove they chose the AK. And they were taught how to manufacture the ammunition as well. The North tried to reverse engineer it, but they were too slow in development and the South won.

  21. Just when I thought that being a lefty kept me safe from the lure of Willis68 and all his ProTechs that so many of you have fallen victim to, he suddenly mentions that there is a TR3 SWAT in left hand that just so happens to be on its way and could give it to me for a steal. What's a guy to do?! Treachery I tell ya!! On a serious note, thanks to Willis68 for an awesome blade! Just bad for me that I now have ANOTHER excuse to buy more (sure this won't be my last!!). Great guy and I can see why he is so popular! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  24. There will only be one blade option on these, we need to decide if we want Stonewashed, Or DLC we can not offer both on these I promised Dave I would do one or the other They are Leftly friendly, once I post the official thread I will post the price, for those of you who have not handled one of these knifes with this texture, I absolutely assure you this is the best grip you will ever have on a pocket knife it is awesome. And for those who think that this makes it look Cheap, you need to see one in person to appreciate it, what goes into engraving our TGO three Bullet hole design into the scale of this knife, is anything but cheap and has several non TGO members loving the look

  28. I carried the Spyderco Tenacious daily before Willis became my latest drug dealer. Now I carry my TGO Runt at work, and my Protech TR4 Punisher all other times. My second TGO Runt, TGO TR4 and all other TGO knives just sit in my safe. It's hard not to attempt to carry them all. They are such beautiful and quality knives.

  29. It is a bit disturbing... I too carry the 124gr Gold Dots. But I'm not going to get too wrapped around the axle over one incident, particularly if the NYPD is involved.

  32. I made this for family so I knew it was going to be a PITA before I ever started. As of this moment I'll probably never make another. It's 3/16" thick 1095 carbon steel with a 6" blade. The finger guard and pommel are SS and they are silver soldered to the tang. The handle is black mesquite and Chakta Viga with red and black G10 spacers.

  35. Next time I see some I will buy some black powder, or alternative, and give it a go. I will shoot my 300 Blackout with heavy subsonic bullets to see how long it will shoot before its first malfunction from crud. I bet it will go a lot longer than expected. I will even run it dry as a bone until the first malfunction then run it wet after that to see how long it will go.

  36. Use some thin plywood or lattice to block two sides of it and let it grow out of the box/bale towards the ground. Maybe about 2' high. It will climb the lattice/plywood some, but for the most part it will grow along the path of least resistance. Every week or two, move the vines off the board/lattice to keep it away from your other stuff.

  38. If anyone thinks their handgun is a 100% fight stopper they are delusional. Even rifles aren't 100%. There are too many ways to fail and the 100% targets are too small and moving too unpredictably. The shooter is under stress etc... Somewhere I heard it said that "the only fight you really win is the one you never get into" sadly some LEO's find themselves in situations where they have no choice. This is one of those examples. Prag said it... Weird crap happens...

  39. ^^^ This is the money quote! Handgun rounds are woefully inadequate at terminating fights which is why more rounds is a smart way to go imho. I've seen folks shot in the head at relatively close range, and the round failed to penetrate (.38 spl iirc)...it was a nasty cut, but skipped off the skull. The 124 gr Gold Dot has a good street record for working as designed. Weird crap happens... Thanks for the vid link Jeb. It's sad to know my Carhartt jacket isn't bulletproof...

  40. Before Willis ruined my life, it was a Kershaw Blur tanto serrated. Now it's the TGO TR4. I carried the Magic twice, but it's just too cool to put to hard use and scuff up. I still carry the Blur if I feel it may be a day where I might really abuse a knife or maybe lose it, like a boating trip or something. I just really love the size and feel of the TR4, and the strength/rigidity of the blade is just astounding. It impresses me anew every time I use it. I have all the TGO blades, and the TR4 is my favorite all-around so far. I'm tempted to get one of the new Kershaw autos or a Benchmade of some sort just kinda' because, but I really can't believe I would like them any more than the knives Willis forced me to buy. ;-)

  44. I don't have much of a garden compared to most of you all, I'm sure. I'm in my 3rd year (I think) now. I started with containers only my first year, then some raised beds I built. This year I also added hay bales to the mix and they are working out well so far. If they last throughout the entire season, I'll definitely expand on this method next year. Just thought I'd share a couple pics of the progress this year: Starting out

  46. check out the plated bullets (copper plated) at x-treme bullets. they are the same price and/or lower over their cast lead bullets. once i started with plated bullets i don't order any more cast lead bullets for pistol. the only cast lead i do now is the ones i make out of wheel weights for rifle use. i use plated for all pistol rounds. they use to give free shipping for first order. sign up for news letter and get free shipping and 5% to 10% off all the time. they send a email out every day with some special deal. hard to beat and ship fast.

  47. He made quite sure he stayed in the media for a good while with no outside help. Sorry, but if that all happened to me I would do my absolute best to make sure I stayed out of headlines. Selling the pistol that killed a famous gangster, say Bonnie and Clyde, sure that's historic. Selling a pistol used in a self defense shooting is just bad taste to say the least. Forgive me for not feeling sorry for a man that goes out of his way to draw attention to himself. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
