Looking for attention? Probably. Young and idealistic? Definitely. But again, if we don't join the conversation, we'll lose by forfeit. While I personally prefer anonymity, I wish there was a million others just like her.6 points

We wanted really badly to send a bunch of them to jail in 2009-2010. Unfortunately there were also some folks who really didn’t want to see that happen who had a lot more political capital - and probably a few pictures to go along with it. Buying politicians isn’t cheap - but it sure is effective.3 points

Private companies will take action long before Congress does. It’s silly to see BofA try to actually deign to have some moral compass, but they’re an 800 pound gorilla.2 points

I'm okay with the picture. I'd be okay if 150,000,000 more people posted similar pictures.2 points

Back in the 1980s, Dan Wessons had more shooting titles than all other brands combined, getting 70-80% of steel silhouette championships. Check this out: http://www.shootingtimes.com/handguns/handgun_reviews_wesson_041306/ They are fantastic shooters. You can buy them very reasonably priced, but not often, at gunauction.com or gunbroker.com They should be priced way higher than the $700 or so that I see winning bids from time to time.2 points

I also picked up a model 28 Smith at a gun show a while back for $350. It's finish isn't perfect, but the action is smooth as silk, and it shoots as well as any handgun I own.2 points

In all seriousness, it seems like the best tactics involve getting yourself out of that environment as soon as possible, assuming there’s an armed perpetrator and you are unarmed. So I’d like to hear more about escape tactics vs entering into the fight.2 points

Or this just popped up in Mid TN from @dtmd https://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/106954-enfieldsmithwesson-and-ar-7/?tab=comments#comment-14867752 points

I just realized that if they could figure out a way to transplant ear hair to the scalp, every guy over 55 would look like Joe Dirt in about two weeks...just sayin'.1 point

I collected up links to some free Kindle books that fit in the survival category. If you dont have the Kindle app, you can get it from a link on the page. http://leveledsurvival.com/kindle-books/ There are lots of other free Kindle books on Amazon too. Good resource to use to carry books with you on a tablet or phone.1 point

They were one of the biggest players in causing the “Great Recession” . I’m certainly not taking them as a moral compass.1 point

The picture, I'm ok with it. But I must say I'm surprised by the story, it is as balanced a story as I have seen when the subject is guns. They have both a pro and anti gun view, without too much spin either way; bravo.1 point

I usually fly with a Tuff Writer Click Pen and several Zebra 701s. NO one looks twice at a pen that looks like a pen... especially if it goes through the magnetometer clipped into in the spiral binding of your notebook....EVERYONE knows what your "tactical pen" with needles , razor blades, and para cord clipped in your pocket is ..... The big thing is to just look and act normal. If you roll to the mall looking like a displaced Blackwater contractor then guess what? You got what you probably secretly wanted. ALL the tough guys (and security) see you and are taking a mental inventory of you.....on the other hand the REAL smart tough guys don't draw any attention to themselves because they dress normal and act normal and don't do things to draw attention....same thing at the TSA checkpoint. If you look like you are pining for the good old days in the green zone then you're gonna get a lot more scrutiny than the "normal" clean cut looking dude in the clean polo shirt and normal "non tactical" pants without a mountain of tattoos showing . That's just reality. As to using them, the Zebra and Tuff Writer pens are unlikely to break and used as "hammerfist helper" they can be very effective and so can the metal bodied "magnum" markers as can a light like a Surefire G2 or P6. But for pete's sake don't show up with some crenelated bezel monstrosity that looks like something out of Game of Thrones. One , it is gonna get confiscated, and Two, it just isn't needed. I guarantee I can open up a cut on ANYONE with a smash to the face with a standard bezel surefire 6p, G2 , Streamlight Scorpion, or any other "standard light". And besides, blunt trauma does all the heavy lifting. If they seriously NEED to be hit then I'd much rather give them a depressed skull fracture than a superficial cut.......or "collect their DNA" or other such silliness....1 point

They can have all the policies they like, if the signs are only on the doors and she didn't enter the building, there is nothing more to say. Good for her, I say. The hand wringing, beta male types need to get over it. They see these pictures and freak out. Their minds would explode if they knew how many people have guns around them every day. The only possible issue is if they require a permit for professional photography on the property. In that case, the photographer has a problem.1 point

It was one of their daily deals. I suppose it "sold out" via Amazon.com (but still available from other retailers through Amazon, just at higher prices).1 point

Stick with Rugers. You can get sights, accessories, holsters, etc. for something like them a lot easier than some imported revolver.1 point

Ever driven/ridden in a Mini Cooper? Annoyingly, my wife wanted one until she found out that they discontinued a true yellow, (her favorite), to an infectious green-yellow color that very model year. We test drove one and I literally felt like I was riding a skateboard down I-65 it rocked so much.1 point

THAT IS NOT FUNNY, NOT ONE BIT!!! The hair on my head is down to the small of my back, just how much money do yall want to spend?1 point

Are 'tactical' pens really worth anything in a fight? Thoughts on the "bulletproof" backpack panels, folios and clipboards?1 point

All Gibsons are hand made hence the price. Their machine made brand is the Epiphone line which are much less.1 point

I have a EAA Windicator in a 2" barrel that I bought off a member a while back. I like it. It works well and so far goes bang with any ammo. The key is patience. I picked up a .357 Dan Wesson with a shorter barrel a while back in that price range. I have seen other longer barrel models of various makers in that range, but I prefer a short barrel myself. There is a .357 blue Ruger GP100 on Armslist in the TriCities for $475 with case and holster. It all depends on how much you "need" it "now"1 point

I have researched the Windicators and they are decent for the money. I think one day I will own one.1 point

I think the annual dues are going to be 200/year. There may also be an initiation fee, but I don't know how much that is.1 point

You get what you pay for. I've bought a couple of pinned and recessed model 19 Smith and Wessons for less than $500, but you have to have patience.1 point
