Not much different than requiring Covid test for admittance to whatever, even to play organized sports, already been done. You can't get a visa to US without 10 or 12 required inoculations. My dad got an ‘85 4Runner the day it came out. We took the top off exactly one time in all the years we had it. I remember thinking at the time, that they had basically cut the rear window out of a pickup and put a factory camper top and rear seats in it. It still had ribs in the bed under the carpet. I learned to drive a manual transmission in that truck. I don’t know why we sold it - but I drove the XJ we got afterwards for a bunch of years.

Amen! And if, God forbid, that time comes for one of us to have to defend and protect (I see those words on lots of police cars by the way. Not on ATF vehicles) my family, I’d much rather reach for a firearm than a ball bat. I believe it was Colt that settled the Wild West, by making the weak stronger, not Louisville Slugger.

Yep. Starting getting weird texts about 2 weeks before the election. Usually late night or early morning. Deleted and passed it off as scams wanting campaign support, both candidates, etc. Got one at 3am this morning saying my Google account was compromised and I needed to log in with this link to confirm who I am. Deleted it too.

While I agree with the concept, firearms stand in the way of the total control of our lives that the democrats are seeking. Guns are in the way of that and they’ll fight hard to git ‘em gone. That said, anything we can use to make it harder and goes on record as something We The People don’t want and will fight against, has got to be a plus though.

I have one I bought a long time ago. I love it. super accurate, I’ve shot a brick through mine at one sitting more than once with my stepson back when a brick costs 8 bucks at walmart and it was still shooting. A Buckmark and a red dot makes for some fun days at the range!

The key is will it be a reasonable price? The biggest issue I see with the modern pickup market is that they’re all too damn expensive. I think a small pickup in the area of $15k-17k msrp would sell like gangbusters. I miss when a pickup was a utilitarian vehicle for the blue collar working man instead of a high end luxury status symbol.

My favorite semi-auto .22 is the Browning Buckmark. Absolutely wonderful pistol and target accurate. It comes in many versions to fit most anybody. You didn't mention your daughter's age. If she's young, the Buckmark, Rugers or other similar guns may be too big for her hands. If you can find one, the S&W Models 34/63 J-frame .22s are ideal for young shooters to start on. Plus they're top quality and very accurate. Start her out shooting SA and then shift to DA when she's ready.

I don't think it's really that different. Their day to day functions may be different but they are all law enforcement. If the right people starting pushing local law enforcement to enforce gun laws it would happen. Look how certain departments are getting told what to do already. I guarantee the individual cops hate it, but they are falling in line. So defunding to the ATF doesn't seem much different to me. The only difference is the motivation behind it. Just my .02

Along that line of being ready for a "gaggle of bears," I have been very impressed with my Tavor TS-12. 16 rounds at the ready with the ability to reload on the fly and no loose magazines to tote around.

Honestly, it's not that I don't like them. I love the Raptor. I just don't think Ford makes nearly as reliable a vehicle as I would want to buy. I've read so many horror stories. Half the guys on the Tundra forum are ones that gave up on their unreliable Dodge/Chevy/Ford and bought a Tundra. There are members on there with 500k miles. Numerous with over 300k. Like I said, I'm loyal to Toyota or possibly Honda. I wouldn't even buy a Nissan. I bought a Rav4 new for my wife in 2012. So far the only non routine thing I've had to replace is a radiator hose. That's through 8 years and 125k miles. My dad bought a Rogue a few months after us in 2012 and it's needed all kinds of work. He's on his 3rd set of CV axles. Toyota just builds a better vehicle than most. I just sent an oil sample to Blackstone labs and got a clean bill of health. We just took it to the outer banks a few months ago.

I really don’t understand the thinking in the order of vaccine distribution. If the vaccine was giving to the most vulnerable, that being those most susceptible (regardless of age or race or occupation) of being hospitalized in ICU units or even dying, were given the vaccine first, I’d think this would be the way to get ahead of the disease and lightening the load on the hospitals and the first line workers. Another thing I’m wondering about. Why are we not dispatching the naval hospital ships like before and making mobile hospitals in major cities like we did before when we were utilizing the armed forces? It seems all we hear is the dire position we are in with hospitals ICU’s being full up and no room for more patients. O well.....I guess its time for another round of pain meds and another night of rambling around the house in the semi dark.

Young ones and smaller ones eat just fine. They are generally leaner than factory farmed hogs. Taste can vary depending on what they’re getting in their diet. Interestingly, people often describe it as meatier tasting than regular factory farmed pork. As with any hunt, I think treating the animal with integrity after the kill has more impact on taste than anything.

It was also chambered in some of the best deer rifles ever manufactured. Think of that one song. It is a great song, but you’ve heard it on the radio so many times you are just sick of it. It is still a great song. The 30-30 Winchester is that song.

I was about to suggest Tom Foster of Foster eye care in Sweetwater. I drive every year to see him. He's fantastic with my progressive lenses and shooting. If anyone is in that area I highly recommend.

I never heard of anyone testing it. A manufacturer would immediately be arrested on Federal charges and if they had an FFL, it would be revoked. No firearms manufacturer would risk that. I’m sure there many machine shops ready and willing to make suppressors, but after the FEDS addressed the issue; that pretty much went by the wayside.

Years ago I had a S&W model 41. If my memory is correct, it had a bold statement in the manual that restricted Ammo to standard velocity only to protect the mechanical cartridge ejection parts of the pistol. It had nothing to do with the barrel I don’t think. PS...I’m NOT an expert, but I think the reason for the 41 limit on velocity also had to do with accuracy. If you notice, target ammo, eley is the best I guess, are all made to strict specs in the lower velocity ranges and lay very close to the 1,000 FPS area. This must be the the holy grail for the most accurate velocity for target ammo and manufacturers make the pistols for that sweet spot of velocity.

I know so many people who had that same experience with Dodge trucks of that era.

I think they design is cool and I'd buy one if money were no object. Reality is though I'd have to trade my Lexus GX460 for one and I'm not sure I'm willing to do that for a year 1 production. I'll probably just keep the GX and buy and 1st Gen 4Runner as a toy to keep me happy. That's today's prediction, tomorrow may be different haha

They aren’t and I didn’t say that or imply it. You know yourself that if the Feds want to make an arrest on a weapons violation; they will do it. With or without the help of local law enforcement. Using discretion in what they will/won’t make arrests on is something very different from obstructing Federal Agents. I also wasn’t talking about kicking in doors or violating Constitutional Rights. If the Feds are coming to your house on Federal weapons charges; they will have a warrant. I’ve said before that cops or feds won’t be involved in large scale confiscation. But after what I saw this year with coward cops standing down while businesses were being burned and innocent citizens being brutality attacked and even killed; anything can happen. Especially with people like Biden/Harris in charge.

Garufa is dead on. The Ruger should easily handle anything you put in in. However, dedicated competition target pistols such as the mentioned High Standard or a S&W 41 should be left to standard velocity ammo only.

"Large" is a relative term. The 3 ply masks do not allow nearly the same degree of passage of emissions as does say, a common bandana. Many, if not most all, of the same size droplets that would penetrate through said bandana would not make it through a 3 ply surgical mask. Certainly, some virus is released into the air by just the act of breathing, and those escape from around any non totally sealed covering, but they have short ranges and longevity and concentration. Hence the self distancing part of the equation. The idea is to hedge all the bets you can, there is no one magic bullet short of living in some sort of bubble. - OS

Sorry, made a typo there. I meant to put defunding. Do you think that gun laws will just disappear if the ATF is abolished? Someone else will just pick up the torch and run with it. Now, I would be thrilled if the ATF was gone but it will never happen. Going back to my earlier point, the very police folks are so quick to defend will be the ones enforcing said laws.
