  1. United We Stand. Divided We Fall. From this point forward, non Second Amendment political and legislative discussions are no longer welcome on TGO. Longtime members of TGO may now roll their eyes and mutter, "Not this crap again. We've been here before." Rightly so. We have attempted several times to allow our members to discuss general politics in a mature manner. We have begged, pleaded, threatened and banned in the effort of making it work. It never does. It always falls apart. There is barely such a thing as polite and respectful political discourse in mixed company even

Although I let my father talk me out of a stint in military service, I feel I have been a productive citizen. I started working farm labor at 10 years old, and have done something productive and lucrative ever since. I am white, a Christian, and member of a Baptist church. I have been married once; 26 years to the same great woman. We have raised two well adjusted and productive children. We have lived the Ame

  3. TGO has unfortunately, from time to time, been visited by those who lack morals and ethics and would like to take advantage of the good graces and trusting nature of our fine members. This activity almost always seems to increase when social conditions are turbulent, especially if the turbulence is centered around the ability to find and buy guns or ammo. Lately we have had to boot a few people who were exhibiting suspicious behavior. We want you to be aware of this fact and to be sure to check a person's status on TGO before you commit to doing business with them as either the seller o

  4. I bought this at a gun show a few years back. It came with a set of stag grips. I finally located original style grips for it. This was no easy feat. In case anyone isn't familiar, this is a Smith and Wesson Heavy Frame Target Model, also referred to as a Bekeart Model. I'm not sure the year of manufacture, but it is roughly 100 years old, and chambered for 22 Long Rifle. I've always wanted one of these, but never thought i'd actually have one.

At best it is a fundamentally bad idea with horrible timing and terrible Public Relations optics being promoted by overzealous but genuine lovers of freedom. At worst it is a giant PsyOp being spurred on by people who want to decimate the Second A

Mikey literally spent some of his last hours reaching out on TGO for a connection to the outside world. You all were his community. You were his lifeline beyond the four walls of his hospital room. Please don't ever forget that. Don't misinterpret TGO to be just another gun forum. This place is literally home to many of us. Damn it. I just can't.

  7. Robert, you've been a member here a long time. I know you aren't looking for charity but I hate to see you sell your gun just to put food on the table. I will personally send some money your way to help hold you over until unemployment comes. I can't speak for everyone but I bet we have some other members that will help. Do you have Venmo? It's a free app you download to your phone. All you have to do is link your bank account(it's safe).

  8. Look, I am really sick of this crap. Everything we have done lately has been designed to keep TGO available for all of us. Read this story: https://rantingly.com/godaddy-cancels-ar15-com/ This could easily happen to us. I am working NOW to set up a contingency plan. If you can't work with us on this, then get the hell off of TGO and go somewhere else. I can't fight THEM and fight you guys here.

Got it put up today and decided to show a few of my lever guns. When I open the door to the man cave this view smacks me in the face. I am truly Blessed!

  12. Over the course of my career, my work has taken me to a lot of unpopular places in the world. I've seen the effects of unmitigated hatred as people kill one another in places like Bosnia Herzegovina and Croatia. I've spent plenty of time in the Middle East, and even though I'm only in my mid-40's, I can remember what a awesome city Damascus was before the war. I've slept in the shadow of Khobar Towers. For a bunch of years, my job often took me to these unpopular places. Talking to a counselor several years ago, she argued that there shouldn't be a D on PTSD. That nothing is wrong

Lethal force is LETHAL force and shooting someone a LITTLE is just like shooting them a lot. Once the gun comes out and goes BANG everything changes. Its not just for funsies anymore.....And what happens when you try to play Lone Ranger and shoot dude in the gun hand and the bullet ricochets off his gun and into his carotid artery? Or you shoot dude in the leg because you "don't want to hurt him" and you hit him square in the femoral artery and he bleeds out in

If we end up in the gulags together, maybe we can reminisce together about the good old days when we could... oh, I don't know... own guns. Yeah! Let's commit to talking about that.

I talked with both about the Covid Vaccines and my feelings and health issues relating to whether or not to take it. Interesting conversations from both. Especially the gentleman who actually drew the blood. We covered about everything from the source, the intent, and the possible outcomes of this pandemic. Even got into some of the religion side...Revelation and Mark of the Beast territory. But the core of all this is that my Oncologist's comments were this

All I've heard from the Liberal gun owners leading up to this moment is how I've been full of #### for thinking that Biden would come for our guns because it's always been nothing but talk. The problem is, there are a lot of other elements of the current era that have eroded the safeties, the checks and balances, that kept it from happening before. Again, I've kept my brain in gear. I've factored all of these things into my decisions whenever I've entered a voting booth.

  23. 2020 and Another Thanksgiving. Not a Thanksgiving as a youngster eagerly anticipating Mom being up and 5 AM to put the turkey in the oven and all the great smells of great food cooking…the rolls…the potatoes…the dressing…and, of course, my Mom’s homemade noodles. I think I could almost live on those noodles alone. The remembrances of aunts and uncles and cousins coming over for dinner and sitting at the “children’s table”! Not a Thanksgiving where I’ve “graduated” to the adult’s table or no table at all as we couldn’t always seat everyone at the table…not a Thanksgiving where I was

  30. Just a thought here. Had you not flipped the guy off, would the rest of the scenario have played out as it did? I'm generally a pretty calm man, but having someone say "FU" to my face, through words or gestures, really, REALLY ticks me off. Frustrations can be high in heavy traffic, and sometimes a simple thing like waving the guy on by, right of way or not, can diffuse a situation such as you describe. FAR better, in my opinion, to avoid the confrontation in the first place. A honked horn is one thing, a bullet in the chest another. Mind you, I am NOT excusing the passenger's actions. I

We've been on a call at work because of this for a few hours now, but my business unit relented and told my team to disengage since it doesn't affect us directly. Consider the facts as we know them: 1. The area where this bomb was detonated only has a few things of significance when outside of business/tourist hours. The biggest asset is the major AT&T routing and switching point of presence which was real near this. 2. The timing (very ea

Folks, lately we have seen a significant uptick in scam attempts that go like this: You post an ad for an item for sale or wanted. A scammer contacts you about the item you are selling or looking for and offers to put you in contact with a friend or relative in Texas or some other state. If they post without a price listed, they are probably new to TGO so a good indication to not get your hopes up too much. It is unfortunately a part of the current situation. On the other side, I have dealt with some new guys that have been great. 38. All actions taken by the government in the week before the inauguration, the quick pivot of the Biden / Harris administration from duplicitous cries for "unity" toward the narrative that the window of opportunity for the GOP to "work with us" was closing, and the continued presence of miles of barbed wire-topped fences and armed troops manning them in Washington DC has told me all I needed to know about where this was headed. Biden and Harris and the Democrats entrenched in places of power want us disarmed. Period. NOW. Conservatives are now all racist, White Supremacist, radical F

The letter opener was made cause it was completely worn out and just hated to throw it away. The Tanto Kata- Aizu Shintogo pair were made cause I just wanted to see if I could. They are sooooo labor intensive and in no way I can rush through one. I can't tell you how many times I just said the heck with it and left it on my work bench and walked away. I know it's capitalism but it still annoys the crap out of me. If those people would stop ammo would become much more available, a lot of times we are our own worst enemy.

Dont know the weight just got the measurements. The black went 16 1/4in and 12.5in Girth. The white went 15in with a 12in girth. All I know is they sure are good to look at so the $310 was well spent. I used a old piece of barn wood and stained the edges with Minwax Red Mahogany 225 to get that burnt look on the outer edges. And used Cocunut Oil for the rest to keep the color lighter.
