  2. "Youngsters are by nature unpredictable." She doesn't think that children should be taught gun safety. I don't like her. She's a moral busybody. She's like Mrs. Cravits on Bewitched. Youngsters are very predictable....if you raise them right.

  3. Anyone who buys a firearm solely for the sake of re-selling it via private sale is begging for a visit from the BATFE.  You might get away with that once or twice in a period of time (determined at their discretion) but if you flip a bunch of them you're obviously selling without a FFL and will end up facing prison time.   Frankly I hope they start dropping that hammer on people sooner than later.  It would really staunch the flow of guns out of gunshops for the sake of resale and leave some inventory for people who really want to own certain items.

  6. No.  Shoot it then clean.  Barrel break-in is for target shooter looking for that extra 1/10th moa.  You will never notice the difference. You are more likely to wear the rifling unevenly from running a cleaning rod through it excessively than from bad break-in procedures.

  8. A few links related to the same story ...    http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2013/01/27/obama-gun-control-advocates-should-listen-more/   and then for the interview from the source Fox reports ...   http://www.newrepublic.com/article/112190/obama-interview-2013-sit-down-president   In the interview he says: "moving forward on the topic [gun control] means understanding that the realities of guns in urban areas are very different from the realities of guns in rural areas."   Sir I have a suggestion for you ... if gun control is that important, and yet, has different realities for different areas of the country, why don't you provide the leadership, and let it happen on a state / local level ... if requested by the constituents of that locality?!?! That sir would be leadership, and not dictatorship.   ... also from the interview ... it looks like he's going after football too! ha

  12. there is no end to how the liberals will change the facts to promote thier agenda here are 3 examples:   1) it sounds The president of the Milwaukee Deputy Sheriffs' Association, Roy Felber, said  like a call to vigilantism.     a) the sheriff is talking about defending oneself while in fear for your life -- not seeking vengence   2) Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett's office released a statement criticizing the ad: "Apparently Sheriff David Clarke is auditioning for the next Dirty Harry movie."      a) if you cant argue against the facts make personal attacks ---- make the 2A supporters sound like war mongers      b) by the way watching dirty harry as i type this   3) Jeri Bonavia, executive director of Wisconsin Anti-Violence Effort, said Clarke took a dangerous position with his ad. She pointed to the case of George Zimmerman,      a) the sheriff said nothing about going out looking for trouble. only defending oneself in ones lawful domain   the liberals are so blinded by their preconcieved biases they cant even discuss proposals like this on its own merits. i think this highlights the nature of the fight ahead of us.   one last thought: with the cutbacks in his department i wonder if the sheriff may have had a alternative motive for this ad. ( just asking )

  16.   What? There will be no "vote" on Feinstein's bill this week. Likely ever, as is..   But there will be an ongoing series of bills. Feinstein's effort is just the first foray.   This stuff isn't likely to be "settled" even by end of the year.   - OS

  19. As always, I'm a little late to the party, but...   Keep my Remington 870 Express 12 ga. bed side, 6 in the tube and empty chamber. Have my Glock 19 or Kimber .45 on night stand (no children), magazine inserted with chamber empty. Reason being.   Getting up in the middle of the night groggy to take a leak and if lucky, shoot a 90% x ring and 10% fail to neutralize. With the completion of the fire drill stub my toe on the way back. Now do I really want to be fumbling with a hot gun when groggy & clumsy?   Of course most of it I blame on age.

  29.   I think that might be factually correct. Doesn't matter, since our government is designed to prevent a simple majority of folks dictating to the whole country. That works in presidential elections, not with legislation.

  30. I can't believe Rogero got elected in the first place (not like the other guy was much better). I think it was a lack of educated voters being able to get off work to vote. The Repulican party needs to take a page from the Dems to get more voters out in these lower level elections. I bet if a full court press was put on by the Republican Party we could make a difference in the local level.

  33. How nice of them to figure that out, after they disarmed the population and told them there was no need for guns.  This is where our country should be doing arms shipments - call it "operation uzi's for the girls". We can use it for a government funded study on crime, at the end of 5 years we will count the percent of rapes per 100k, and also how many thugs have been removed from society. If we can just save one girl, we have to do everything possible, right? :)

  35. I would ask this question to the safehouse.  Most moving co's do not have the equipment to safely move a safe.  Any of these monsters that are 800 lbs and up can be a nightmare to relocate.  Moving up even 2-3 stairs can be dangerous without the right gear and know how.  Ask the experts and remember when you pay peanuts you get monkeys.

  39. As far as the Hulu/Netflix goes, you can buy a smart Blu-ray player with built-in wi-fi for about $60 - $80. You can stream all kinds of stuff through it. We just bought a Sony from Best Buy as a Christmas gift for my girlfriend's father. He loves it. I see that you mentioned not watching DVDs or Blu-Ray, but I thought I'd throw that out there as a fairly inexpensive method. Plus, you'll have the option, just in case.

  40. You talking about Burk?  I live outside the city limits (for now any way, they are trying to annex every nice neighborhood within 50 miles while skipping the poor ones) so I have to admit I havent studied up much on who is running.  Our current mayor is the bigest douche bag ever to hold that position.

  42. I'll add my tired refrain:  buy a  .22LR pistol also and shoot it thousands of times.  Most folk can't afford to shoot centerfire to get enough practice to be able to use their handgun like a comfortable tool, safely and effectively.

  43. I've been using a Country Time Lemonade container for years. It holds 550 rounds and has a deep lid you can use to load from. The lid screws on so you don't have to worry about it popping off and it is made of pretty thick plastic. My FIL was visiting from Brazil and I guess he was bored one day and decided to go prowl around in a '68 F-100 that's been sitting in my back yard for about 12 years. He found a container like that one with about 400 Remington .22s in it. I figure that ammo was in there about 13 years in the heat, cold and humidity. I took it to the range and it all fired through my P-22.

  44.   Yep, let's continue to alienate enough folks so that their pols become convinced that an anti-gun congressional vote won't cost them their next election. Shrewd tactic.   The antis write too, ya know, particularly the pissed off ones, and the pols are influenced by polls, especially ones they may be contracting privately targeting their own fiefdoms constituencies.   - OS

  48. Lets not have the facts enter into the mix. They don't think and I am not sure that they have anything to thick with . They are spoiled and only want their way . They don't want one or see the need for one, so you shouldn't either . It is a matter of control . We the people are lower than them and they want to tell us everything we can or can't do as well as can or can't have .    In order to get to the main objective they must remove as many guns as possible so they do not have to face an armed resistance. When I see the gun free zone sign I go some where else. If my gun is not welcome than neither am I or my money. It will not do any good but it is best to call and or contact the place of business ( and talk to someone in the higher managment ) and tell them why you will never spend any money with them .
