  1. On another note, Madam Chair has nothing to worry about since nobody has any intention of raping her or doing anything otherwise sexual with her whether voluntary or involuntary.  I guess when you're a disgusting overweight manbeast of a woman, things like protecting yourself from rape isn't a concern.    I'll have to remember to tell my wife and daughter to render themselves unattractive, grotesque female forms to prevent attack.  That is morally superior than putting a bullet into a rapist, right?

  11. this is how it will begin: "Recently uncovered government documents reveal that the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's (DHS) unmanned Predator B drone fleet has been customize designed to identify civilians carrying guns and track cell phone signals."  http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2013/03/05/Homeland-Security-Drones-Designed-To-Identify-Civilians-Carrying-Guns then they'll include non-lethal devices to aid & assist in apprehension then .... then .... then they're mowin down kids in the backyard of some homeschoolers in idaho for playin with paintball guns

  14. I was wondering how many of us on here are sitting good in the area of ammunition with no care in any area?   I know for sure I'm not standing in line, driving around looking for anything. After 2008 and six month prior to the election I stocked up.   I for one have plenty in all calibers that I use. I have even sold some of the surplus I have.

  16. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/03/06/aclu-police-militarization-swat_n_2813334.html?utm_hp_ref=mostpopular Interesting article about the rise of SWAT teams and other military police. I'm not sure yet what to make of this so I'm hoping to hear from some smarter than me members. That should be easy I know I have been reading posts here about Obama and his army in America. We have been talking about the drone strikes on American soil. This article sort of conforms our worries, at least, toward the end, it talks about the massive jump in funding our police departments have recently received. This may even shine some light on the drop from Glocks to Sigs. Maybe I just need my foil hat, but there are puzzle pieces in front of us.

  28.     I work with lots of current and former military and National Guard folks.  Beyond the usual riot and natural disaster training, there's nothing specifically directed toward civil unrest.  I'm sure there are documents in locked file cabinets that address such things, but actual implementation is nil.

Chavez wuz a genuine demagogue who promised these poor people lots of things they ever got.  I fear they may continue to be slaves ALA central american style.  We've got a dear friend from central america who told me one time that 15 families owned everything in his country (...El Salvador, i think...).    leroy

  36. A couple of years ago I actually found and bought a Remington 7600 Police.  It is a Remington pump rifle in .308 with a 16 1/2 inch barrel.  When fired, you can feel concussive shock in your chest cavity and get seared on both sides.  A deer shot under 20 yards will be cooked medium rare when you field dress it.

  37. Can we put a moratorium on defining the term "price gouging" or at least just agree that "price gouging" and "free market" are interchangeable terms until this current round of douchebaggery is over.
    1 point
  38. 1. price gouging - pricing above the market price when no alternative retailer is available pricing - the evaluation of something in terms of its price   This really only pertains to situations like Katrina where people were taking advantage of their neighbors for gas and bottled water (necessary supplies that were unobtanium but required to live).   this high priced ammo and guns on TGO and elsewhere isnt gouging...its just people with too much money, too little common sense, a lack of memory in relation to the last election, and zero preparedness(not unlike the people that buy up all the bread and milk anytime it might snow the night of) willing to spend obscene amounts for stuff that they really don't have to have at the moment and if their willing to pay the price why should I or anyone feel bad?

  39. I really don't understand how so many gun hobbyist's didnt have any ammo set back for times like these(hell I thought we had a bunch of preppers on here ;-D )....oh well if your in the group of "i have no ammo" just wait like all previous imagined crises this too will pass and prices might not ever be as low as they were but they will come back down to normal...heck look how much AR15's have come back down...patience is a virtue...and a money saver.

  41. Retailers are going to sell this stuff right now, it is not going to sit on their shelves collecting dust.  If anything stores that are putting limits on ammo and components are doing us average Joe's a favor.  It would be easier for them to sell their entire stock to the first scalper that comes in as opposed to spreading it out over several customers.

  42. They could speed up getting it on shelves if they'd forego smaller packaging. Just throw everything in 500 or 1000 rd plain brown bulk boxes, stamp what it is on the top of it and ship it. Stuff flies off the shelf so fast no one cares and no one wants less than 500rds. They'd prob make a dollar saving the nice packaging for a later date when ammo makers have to compete.

  44. Rausch is relatively a new Chief, having been in that position since 2011.   Having read some of the stories on this, here is my theory:  New chief simply wants a new weapon.  He likes SIG .45s, and wants to carry them.  He can't very well just say to the city council that he wants a new firearm just because he likes them.  So, he finds a way to sell it to them (like the 4 year lifespan claim, undocumented failures, etc...).   I have seen this happen many times before.  I worked for agency where we carried Glock 9mm pistols.  A new agency head was appointed who was a retired Secret Service agent.  The USSS carried SIG P229s in .357SIG, so he transitioned our agency to...........surprise.......SIG P229s in .357.  Another example is a federal agency that had a new chief who was a retired FBI agent, and everybody got new badges that looked like big FBI badges.

  46. The rights enumerated in the Constitution only apply to government, not private organizations.if we were talking about UT, I'd be right there with you but we're not. Vandy is a private entity and therefore should have the ability to set its internal policies how it wishes. Of course, I view the large portions of the 1964 Civil Rights Act that apply to private business to be illegitimate. If one is not acting on behalf of the government, then one should be free to associate, or not associate as one pleases. TGO is a great analogy. You have the right to free speech, you don't have the right to exercise it here. This is David's house, you play by his rules, or you leave. These student orgs are in Vandy's house and have to play by their rules.

  47. My experience tells me you will draw and fire without thinking about your equipment and you will fire where and how you have trained; chances are you will not have time to do anything else. My training was firing into center body mass without using sights. If you think you will have time to get a sight picture or make a head shot; train that way. If I were a “Shot placement guy” I would be dead.
