what i am going to say will make some here mad. before you buy a home system, any system, i would check on the respond time of the police. if it take 20 minutes before they show up then you are wasting your money. if it takes 5 minutes, you are still wasting your money. does the alarm company call you first to see if you did not set the alarm off before calling the police? if so more time more time wasted. it take less than 5 minutes to steal you blind. the bad guys know how much time they have before the police arrive and they will be in and out with your stuff long before the police show up. so you lose in two way, the stuff the bad guys steal and the money the alarm companies stead. the only thing that i have seen that will work in today world is a big dog. a big barking, mean looking dog inside your house has shown to stop more bad guys than the alarm company sign in the front yard.3 points

A DEA Agent stopped at a ranch in Texas and talked to an old rancher. He told the rancher, "I need to inspect your ranch for illegally grown drugs." The rancher... said, "okay, but don't go into that field over there...", as he pointed out the location. The DEA Agent verbally exploded and said, "look mister, I have the authority of the federal government with me!" Reaching into his rear back pocket, the arrogant officer removed his badge and proudly displayed it to the rancher. "See this badge?! This badge means I can go wherever I want... On any land! No questions asked, no answers given! Do you understand old man?!" The rancher kindly nodded, apologized, and went about his chores. Moments later the rancher heard loud screams, he looked up and saw the DEA agent running for his life, being chased by the ranchers big Santa Gertrudis Bull...... With every step the bull was gaining ground on the officer, and it was likely that he'd sure enough get gored before he reached safety. The officer was clearly terrified. The old rancher threw down his tools, ran as fast as he could to the fence, and yelled at the top of his lungs...... "YOUR BADGE! SHOW HIM YOUR BADGE!"3 points

Freedom goes both ways. Everyone has the freedom to price their items as they see fit. Everyone has the freedom to whine about the prices. And you have the freedom to whine about the whiners.3 points

Gangbangers will gladly pay that much. Gotta have something for the "glock-glock". Cheaper Than D!ck, --whatever. Oh, wait, and now Glen Beck endorses them too... wonder how much that cost them? Maybe they're paying him in .22LR bricks?? No thanks. Have a nice life, CTD. You won't ever have to worry about filling an order for me ever again. Ever. Wow. CTD pi$$es me off so much that even my non-sequitur rant has non-sequiturs.3 points

Ooh, it's the free market. An item is worth what someone will pay for it. Supply and demand in action. Did I cover them all? Screw CTD.3 points

Stopped in to see if ammo had came in but it had not. But they had 3 boxes of 7.62x51 at $19.99 per box so I got one. Went back to the gun counter and they received a truck but hadn't opened anything. So I hung out for about 30 minutes while he went through them to see if they had any Ruger 10-22's. I've been wanting one for my daughter and always miss the shipments. Sure enough!!! $199 with wood stock, which is what she wanted. Can't wait to surprise her tonight!!2 points

Im going to start going as soon as I get off of work at 630 in the morning. If thats when they get the ammo in I can pick some up for others as well.2 points

We have bigger problems than worrying about a “Police Stateâ€. Illegals are being given amnesty, letting them vote is next, drugs are being legalized, patriots are few and far between, moral decay is accepted. Many people will be wanting/needing more Police in the very near future.2 points

He is alive Indeed! I was dead because of my sins and because my sinful nature was not yet cut away. Then God made me alive with Christ and forgave all my sins. He cancelled the record of the charges against me and took it away by nailing it upon the cross. Death is swallowed up in victory, O death, where is your victory? O death where is your sting? His Grace, through the power of Christ over the cross has made me alive, indeed.2 points

You know and Easter egg hunt with eggs filled with tannerite would be pretty fun. Sit up on a hill and find them with a scoped rifle and shoot them. Also why should any of us care that the politicians children don't get to look for eggs on the White House lawn?2 points

Excellent defense AR  People dislike Palin like we dislike KingNothing but it's very illogical to me to think Palin is incompetent and not capable of running a government or doesn't have our country's best interests first. IF we had someone better than McCain in 2008 along with Palin, I'm sure some people would think more positively of her by now. :usa:2 points

And one more thing. If the seller is asking too much for you then make them an offer or tell them but by PM only. Some sellers honestly think it is a fair price but if enough people counter offer with lower prices the seller might come down. But again use a PM if it can be viewed as negative in any way like public ally offering someone 10% of their asking price. If you have nothing positive to say then don't post it. If you absolutely must say something then take it to PM's but be respectful. Name calling, insults or using profanity will be addressed.2 points

Yeah, and I got hung up on a transfer from PSA for two weeks because their new address didn't match their FFL, so had to wait till they worked that out and got the right one to PSA. Wasn't that big a deal, was just a lower and didn't much care exactly when I got it. The address shown on site is now correct, took them a while to get it changed, since it's a graphic and not text. I also transferred another one about two weeks ago, no probs, so they have all that straightened out. Still willing to pay the $25 and pop over to Alcoa, as they are great folks, call you within minutes of the shipment coming in, always friendly, etc, and except for the one glitch during their move, everything always goes smoothly. They also have been able to keep a surprisingly good supply of various guns since the panic, and their prices are excellent for the most part, compete with online ones. They're my go-to shop. - OS2 points

Yes. The case is not fully supported by the barrel. The smile area is in open air when charge goes off. So too much pressure causes that part of the case to bulge.2 points

It is sad. Tyrrany is like cancer. Tyrrany will not stop until the host succumbs. If the cancer keeps spreading the patients will die. The statist parasites are feeding off of the wealth of the once most powerful, free Republic in the history of the world. The hemorrhage is stemming from 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. Congress as well. I’m sure our AEGIS class ships are in the area and prepared to knock down whatever NK launches. The threat of nuclear war is ridiculous. They may well try to launch a nuke, but we don’t need nukes to neutralize NK; and won’t use them. The problem (and loss of American lives) will come if there is hand wringing on the part of Obama in the event of an act of war. Have our bombers deliver a few MOAB’s to NK’s top leaders; and it’s over. You would think after Korea, Vietnam, and Afghanistan our leaders would learn. Use the technology we have developed and end these threats with extreme prejudice.2 points

It's not "a load of dung." All the UN has to do is post signs that declare the area a War Free Zone and everything will be fine.2 points

Agreed. I'm all for wiping this little stain (Kim) off the planet, but nuclear war must be avoided at all cost if possible. The day a nuclear weapon is used in war will be the opening shot of Armageddon.2 points

Indian Ishapore, I built the scope mount which does not modify the rifle but allows my failing eyes the benefit of a 2x Nikon pistol scope. The load; Federal case, CCI large Rifle primer, 30.0g of WC-844T and a 170g hollow point cast from air cooled wheel weights, Lyman gas check, lubed with my homemade boolit lube and sized .311 Remember this is not a super refined bench rest rifle, it's an Indian Ishapore. I grouped at 25 yards and 50 yards. Ten shot groups. Three shot groups are a joke and don't tell the truth of things. I moved out to 100 yards but I was pressed for time so I just shot at clay targets laying on the berm. I hit 9 out of 10 with the one miss still being destroyed by impact. I'm really tickled with this load and the rifle too! I shot (50) rounds total and after three dry patches, the bore was shiny. ZERO leading. I'm really happy with the mold too, it's a real joy to cast from. No where NEAR as much trouble as other hollow point molds I've used in the past.1 point

I believe this country has already become somewhat of a police state. No, we don't have secret police kicking down your door to execute you or haul you off to some labor camp because you won't conform to governmental decrees. However, let's look at what we already have: 1. We have increased militarization of police departments throughout the US. 2. We have proposed gun control measures in numerous states and the federal government. Don't think for a minute that the AWB losing political steam is a victory for us. If this was the 2008 House and Senate, Feinstein's bill or something much worse would have passed and would be law. 3. We have more and more people becoming dependent upon the government, which is exactly what they want. Ask yourself, who is easier to control, the man who needs nothing from the government, or a man who requires government assistance (food stamps, welfare, medicare/medicaid, doesn't pay federal income taxes) in order to get by? 4. We have increased surveillance from UAVs, which soon may be armed. 5. We have the first step, i.e. Obamacare, towards instituting a single payer healthcare system. What better way to control people than through healthcare. 6. We have unecessary laws (Patriot Act) and agencies like the DHS and TSA. Who was DHS's number one concern? It wasn't some jihadi just waiting to have his Allah moment; it was homegrown terrorists, especially former military personnel, and right leaning militias. 7. We have less and less anonymity on the internet with businesses and government tracking what you are doing. 8. We have an EPA that is furthering its stranglehold on businesses and individuals. 9. We have an out of control federal government that will not decrease spending, putting you further in debt. Then they steal your money and your children's money only to bailout undeserving individuals and corporations. 10. We are seeing a push to change the demographics via immigration (amnesty) which will eventually ensure a single party rule. I could go on and on with numerous examples. Granted, this is what at least 50% of the public wants (or at least they think they do). As long as the average individual has enough money to buy their big screen television, cable, and to go to their favorite restaurant, they will be satiated. I would be willing to wager that if you asked the average Joe which would they rather have, cradle to grave security or complete freedom, they would choose the former. Anyone who does not think we are becoming a police state is really delusional, or they don't understand what a police state is. Do I think we will go full blown totalitarianism? I have no idea, but I will contend that all of the right components are being (or have been) added. All we need is the right politicians in office and the right catalyst, i.e. financial collapse, domestic terrorism, etc... to set the reaction off, which will quickly turn this nation into something we would have thought improbable. Just to note, I am not an Alex Jones fan, and I am somewhat allergic to aluminum. However, I do have eyes, and I can see that what is being set up could possibly have disastrous consequences on our civil liberties and personal freedoms given the right set of circumstances. Thankfully we still have a few politicians in Washington like Rand Paul, Ted Cruz, and Mike Lee who see the same thing and are fighting against it. The next couple of elections will decide if this country will be saved or move that much closer to authoritarianism, and eventually crumble like every other empire in history.1 point

I believe too! The Bible is infallible and is the inerrant word of God. Abraham's God that is! It was written by men, but inspired by God. The King James version may not be written in the original languages of the Bible, but I studied in government funded college literature, the history and development of the King James translation, that in itself was astonishing, and removes any doubt in my mind that maybe we have errors in the translation. Don't take my word for it, if you will just carefully study the science of the bible, and its history, understand how it is a collection of individual books, from vast time periods. Then stand back, and understand how the birth and death of Jesus was for told centuries before his actual birth, is astonishing. Its not written to vaguely to make it fit. You either accept that He was God in the flesh, or he was a liar, a conman, which makes him the biggest scam in mankind. As for as the age of the Earth, I don't why God created the earth that appears to a human mind to be billions of years of old, but I do know its in our nature to have concrete evidence. Do you suppose if we did uncover concrete evidence, and we penned it down what we found, 1,000 years from now, would society doubt us too? Finally, as for me, I had a life changing experience 100% tied to the Bible. I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior. I would never go back to the life that I had before. I still make mistakes, but what happened 2,000 years or so ago today (Easter), makes my mistakes invisible to God. Its as simple as John 3:16. :up:1 point

That is the scenario that has bothered me for decades. We're sitting ducks on the DMZ. Most folks here have no idea of this. Gets very little press except when the North starts rattling sabres. Matter of time before it blows, even if by accident. Thanks for your service from an ole Army Nam grunt.1 point

I guess the battle is just going to continue until the end. This is the libtards reponding to the local law enforcement's refusal to enforce gun laws that infringe. I wonder when these libtards are going to figure out that they're going to run short on their hired guns. They are attacking the only people that can help them carry out their plans. Let 'em keep showing their cards. The more folks that understand their real agenda, the more resistance there will be.1 point

No, the report about the handguns was a media report. The official police report said he used a Bushmaster AR style rifle, a Glock 10mm handgun, and a Saiga was found in the trunk of his car. http://www.ct.gov/despp/cwp/view.asp?Q=517284 Also, it's quite interesting to see how many folks are working very hard to make the official reports inaccurate. If you find yourself trying to create scenarios to prove someone wrong, then you should probably take a step back. The math I get says he fired a maximum of 161 rounds (as was mentioned by OS earlier). The kid was crazy. He loaded up a bunch of magazines, went to the school, and hot up the place. There's nothing else to this story except for the details related to those facts. No conspiracy. It's also quite interesting to see how people will constantly say the media is corrupt, irresponsible, and inaccurate, but here, early media reports made in the heat of the moment as the story unfolded are 100% correct and corrected reports are fabricated. Again, when you have to do this much work to make the story fit what you want it to be, it's probably time to step back.1 point

Atlanta is the problem, not their water supply. A city just cant outgrow their resources. They had no water plan in place from the beginning and still don't. All they have is an insatiable appetite for growth. During the drought of 2007, they tried to force the Corp of Engineers to stop taking water from lake Lanier that is used by parts of Alabama and Florida. They wanted to hand their problem to somebody else so their party could continue. Same with this plan to take water from the Tennessee River. They want water and don't give a crap how it will affect others.1 point

Lumber Jack: When you load for 10mm, smiles are pretty common. Not that you should try to get them, but you will if going to ludicrous speed. Hopefully you have a chronograph. If not, get one. Powder also makes a huge difference. My favorites are 800-x and No.9. I never got smiles with the No. 9, but the 800-x is touchy.1 point

Well, "Magpul" itself isn't a giant operation people-wise, only about 200 people, assemblers and shippers and accounting, R&D, etc. The actual molding is all contracted out, but they estimate that is another 700 jobs, and not all to the same place, although their biggest contractor has also said it would leave too, as I understand it. So, I imagine all will still be scattered around with whatever ways they can least disrupt production, but it would be nice to have the core company here just as a matter of pride for the "Patron State of Shootin' Stuff". - OS1 point

Of course, to someone who actually shoots, 1,500 rounds is no big deal...to the person who has never owned a firearm 1,500 rounds sounds like a phenomenal amount; more than then can even imagine anyone having. Most of those folks think you can just keep shooting and shooting without reloading ever since that's how it's often portrayed in the movies. ;)1 point

Actually, the math supports what you're saying (did a little playing this morning). If you push a 9 over standard pressure, it gets right up there with a 45 in muzzle energy. The energy drops faster with the lighter bullet, but not a factor inside 25 yards. The extra velocity will certainly help expansion. Time to play with some hot 9mm loads as soon as ammo availability recovers. I'll probably play with .357 SIG as well. OK... I'm done jacking the thread now :)1 point
