I love how the chick sometimes has 50 guys that are "possible" fathers, she's certain each one is the father, and none of them ever are. How worthless the chick must be to have that many people fit into the time frame.... and had to have started forgetting people! If my kids turn out like that, I'd probably go on a killing spree myself! I won't use anything "deadly" to give us a bad rep. No gun or anything, maybe glitter and hard pillows..... Ban that Feinstein!3 points

I, for one, do understand that you're trying to help. And yes, we're paranoid. That comes from being under attack for decades. If you understand that, you can frame your approach a little differently. That paranoia is justified, and maybe should be dealt with before you start asking those questions. Mental health is going to become a weapon against gun owners. The medical profession should fight that tooth and nail, because it WILL force people to avoid treatment.3 points

This statement of your argument makes ABSOLUTELY no sense. If EVERY house has those, seems to me you should concentrate more on chemicals than guns since exposure is so much greater.3 points

Most of the comments on the news channels are sheep blaming "domestic terrorists" or some sort of patriotic, militia nut job. This is gong to be interesting. Enjoy the ride as we dive farther down into a police state with little, to no freedoms.2 points

Guys, these lowers are as "spec" as anything from countless other manufacturers. The same parts that work in a Spikes, CMMG, Smith & Wesson, Sun Devil, blah bah ad infinium, lower will work in these. This manufacturer produces lowers for themselves as well as others. If we were at liberty yet to say who the manufacturer was, don't you think we'd have posted it by now? :) Information will come soon enough. This thread was just a fact-finding mission to see if enough folks would be interested.2 points

Actually we filed the claim with OUR insurance. We have to pay our deductible up front but State Farm will get that reimbursed to us with the money they will get reimbursed from her insurance carrier. We are going to consult a lawyer before signing any documents and make sure we are doing the right thing.2 points

Somehow I believe that if there ends up being an excess there will be no issues finding a home for those lowers. I'm down for two, but if someone backs out I'll scoop up a few more. I'm sure I'm not alone on that.2 points

My children are in their 30s and 40s. They understand, both education and government. They teach in private schools, their children go there, and I get my licks in when I can. I instruct in hunting, weapons and tools, and methods of food production and saving. Regarding fear of the government, if you have spent as much time on the front lines of that fight as I have, and are not afraid, you are lacking in rational thinking skills. If a grizzly comes at you, and you are not afraid, you are again lacking coping skills with reality. Just because a person is afraid, does not make them a coward or a slave. Fear can stimulate adrenalin, and that can increase a persons strength and mobility. How a person reacts to facts may instill fear, if they are wise enough to recognize danger, acting to resist it is in my mind, an act of bravery.2 points

I was speaking to a military member during the recent elections. If I remember correctly this happened a few days before the actual election. He said they were told to have their absentee ballots turned in by 7pm that day local time. Problem was they had not received them yet. And when they received the absentee ballots, the following day, they were told to fill them out but they would not be counted because they were not turned in the previous day. I really like the ink idea. Except use UV ink on top of indelible ink. That way they cannot tell when it is all washed off unless they buy a blacklight. I also hate early voting, it allows those who cheat to have more time to cheat. Elections should be held on a Saturday from 12 midnight to 12 midnight. Not during the week when people work. And finally, if you do not pay taxes, unless you are retirement age, you should not be allowed to vote. Why should someone who doesn't pay taxes have a say in how tax money is spent.2 points

I wish more people open carried. Guns will continue to be the target of liberal hatred until they go back to be as normal as someone wearing shoes. The only way to stop people from having an irrational fear of guns is if they see then everyday, and realize that a gun is only a tool, just like a multi tool or a hammer. Too many variables to even begin to guess the detonation systems. Hell, the CT shooting was a 1 guy thing and we were all running around screaming about inconsistencies 2 weeks after... This involves literally thousands of people in a public place, it is going to be a nightmare to sort through for everyone so I'm gonna stick with a quick daily update and steer clear of the minute by minute updates this time.1 point

Yeah because those groups blow up innocent people all the time right? I heard people taking up for Muslims, saying nobody could know that, correct but a lot of attacks have been made by them, and we are not even supposed to think it possible for them to be the culprits. But they will blame the Tea Party who has never done anything like this, and have been pretty calm compared to their attackers.1 point

Sig P226. It is big, it is heavy, but it shoots great. Close second is an old Ruger GP141 in 357 magnum. It goes bang every time. Edit: I forgot my Sign P220. It shoots like a dream and is a 45. What's not to like?1 point

Probably my makarov. Thousands upon thousands of rounds later, its not showing it, just a touch of wear to hint at a long life; no finish on the front of the grip anymore (I keep it touched up with a 'blue' pen). A home-made trigger job makes it special and an extra sweet shooter but even before that it was a favorite. Also I love the design, a handful of simple parts that make it easy to work on and a fixed barrel keeps it accurate. Runner up is my old ruger mark 2, which also has an insane round count and is still as accurate as I am.1 point

Well don't get too offended by that. Stereotyping is a natural thing folks do based on life experiences and how they perceive the world. Generally speaking stereotypes exist for a reason, but of course are not 100% accurate. They can be real time savers though. Just the other day my liberalish wife locked the doors to the car as we were sitting in the parking lot and two young black males approached our vehicle who were dressed in thug wear and sporting several gold chains on the outside of their clothes. For all I know they were investment bankers, but chances are they were of the criminal element. Could I be wrong? Sure, but I'm not going to wait to be proven right by not paying attention to potential threats. After all, 90 year old ladies haven't hijacked any planes that I know of, but military age middle eastern men have... a lot.1 point

So if I calculated correctly, this is my 1000 post on TGO. I wanted to take this moment to thank everyone on here for being so cool. Since joining I have had the opportunity to meet several members here, buy and sell a few things, and learn a lot. TGODavid has a awesome thing going here and I hope it continues on for future gun lovers can share these same experiences. I consider TGO members my friends and a extended family. ROCK ON TGO!!!!!!!!1 point

We supposedly got a good deal in the 1986 bill that banned new machine guns and gave us travel protection. However, as we've found since then all the deal did was ban new machine guns and we really don't have travel protection in states like NY, NJ, etc. So no compromises because we won't actually get anything in return. All that would problem happen is the courts would knock down the little good we got and leave the crap. Plus, what good is being able to carry in all states if we get our guns taken away-which IS the real purpose no matter what the liberals claim they don't want to do. These people LIE LIE LIE-even so much as easily proven lies like Obama's "full auto rifle" use at sandy hook lie last week.1 point

Here is the problem with this so called bill. Toomey and Mansion bill. Both of these phony Conservatives think they need to "compromise" with the gun grabbing liberals. Chuck Schumer, the most anti-gun anti 2nd amendment progressive on the left wrote the bill. He is bought and paid for by Bloomberg. Toomey won't even be seen on stage with Schumer in fear his base won't approve. Both of them are posturing with both parties in their districts hoping not to offend them in hopes they get re-elected.It has nothing to do with safety or "protecting the children". These politicians must be told that they work for us. The Constitution which includes the bill of rights is not up for compromise and shall be protected at all costs. And another fact is, the bill isn't even written yet, these politicians are going to vote on a bill then write it.after the fact. Just like "Obamacare' remember Pelosi's famous quote "we have to vote on it to see what is in it: This bunch of incompetent idiots have got to go before we don;t have an America we even recognize. :usa:1 point

Exactly. To me, the problem seems to be democraps-at-heart running as Republicans (McCain and the like). They get a lot of votes just because they're well known and they're under the Republican ticket. But when they get in, they're just another liberal vote most of the time. There's a HUGE difference in the words "Republican" and "Conservative".1 point

There is no such thing as a midlength when it comes to the 300 although that would remove a lot of the problems out there. A pistol length gas system will cycle with subsonics or low powered loads even without a suppressor. A carbine length system is hit or miss at best unless you install non standard parts like lightweight buffers or lightweight recoil springs. With a carbine length gas system you are going to be stuck with a few kinds of powders and a few kinds of bullets at best. At worst they might not work at all. If you want the most flexibility you want a pistol length system. I can use a very wide variety of powders. I have used Lil'Gun, N110, H4227, A1680, H4198, A2015, SMP842 and A1680 to shoot both subs and supers in my gun. The gun cycles perfectly and the only variable is that some powders have lower velocities than others but they ALL cycle reliably. I can shoot 180's at subsonic velocities as well as 245 grain cast bullets at under 800 fps. And I do not need special buffers or springs, just what any 5.56 lower comes with. I have joked that I bet my gun will cycle with blackpowder. I need to get some to try. With a pistol length gas system you can use an adjustable gas block to artificially lengthen the gas system but you cannot artificially shorten the carbine gas system. I will make this offer to anyone considering building or buying a 300 Blackout. Contact me first so we can make sure you are successful the first time. Prices are crazy right now and there is no sense in spending a ton of money only to be frustrated.1 point

Great shoot, weather was awesome. I actually remembered to take videos. I got a little bit of everything from my squad, the best we got was from King. What a run he had, he really burned it up! Interesting concept, but I just can't get past the idiot daughter disarming the only-thing-between-us-and-the-hordes alarm system with one push of a button. An idiotic move, of course, but the alarm doesn't have a passcode, verification prompt, etc??? I can't close my browser if it has more than one tab open without it asking me am I sure, and she opens up the entire house with one push of a button?1 point

And therein lies the problem. I believe we have finally reached the tipping point in this current democracy where the lazy slobs sucking at the tit of government now outnumber the voters who work hard and hold to traditional values. The dregs of society keep voting into power the people who will support their habits, and the rest of us keep footing the bill and forfeiting our freedoms. In short, we're screwed.1 point

Finally made it to the range. Everything went good. Put 200 rounds down range with no failures. Didn't bring an allen wrench so you know the grip screws would began to loosen up after that first 100. Grip safety still rattles but not nearly as bad as before.1 point
