  3. I am in Australia at the moment and wearing my TGO polo short, anyway while in the Sydney Airport 3 Australian gentlemen began discussing firearms with me. The Aussies love Jack Daniels and as I am learning more every time I come into this country, they love their guns as well. I truly feel sorry for these people and I cannot begin to tell you all just how lucky we all are being able to buy the guns that we can. One of the guys I was talking with just got rid of several high end shotguns because the government here makes it very expensive and a pain in the but to own them, Just felt like sharing this, Now for my long journey home

  6. It seems like they could have just walked into the shelter and asked as opposed to all the production. I mean, they used a helicopter to recon whether or not there was indeed a fawn there. Why not just go to the shelter, tell them what the deal is and take the animal?

  7. It frustrates me to see people on here who think that if a candidate doesn't match their way of thinking 100% of the time then they aren't going to vote for them. They are defacto holding a freak'n politician to a higher standard than they do their own spouses.

  9. We have a nice restaurant within walking distance to our house (Market House near Jackson Square in Oak Ridge) that my wife and I like to go to. Not only is the food really good, but they have a nice selection of beer. So, my wife and I decided to go on a date to the restaurant last night. We decided to walk so we could partake of the adult beverages.   We had a really nice dinner, drank a bit, laughed a lot, drank some more. It was a great evening. We walked home under the stars, the temperature nearly perfect, holding hands, giggling like a couple of school kids. I'm thinking this night is just going to get better    We get to the house and I see my stupid dog rolling around in the grass. Not just rolling, but plowing the ground with his face. That's when we noticed the smell of the skunk. I go over to the fence and, yep, he got it.   So, now it's 10:30 at night and I'm outside giving my dog a peroxide and baking soda bath. The beer buzz is pretty much gone, and my hands and arms smell like skunk.   Let's just say my dog was not the only one that got skunked last night!

  11.   I'm not sure what the hell you are talking about.    If by "glamourized" you mean made to be "pitiable" or "dispicable", then perhaps you have a point, but you also have a very different definition of "glamour" from the rest of us.   There is no glamour to driving a Pontiac Aztec or a 20 year old Jeep Wagoneer.

  12. Yeah, the first time he got skunked, a year ago, I used the Peroxide mixture and I expected it to have made him a platinum blonde, I couldn't tell the difference in his coat color, but I'm color blind and don't see shades very well.   It did make his skin all dried out and I had to use some kind of pet lotion on him.     I forgot to mention in my OP, that he is a Dachshund. So, the long story short is: I was looking for some love, but what I got instead was a small, stinky, wiener.   :stunned:   Yeah, we got a million wiener jokes in my house.

Well I guess we don't have to imagine it anymore now do we? Our nations "saftey net" for the elderly, disabled & poor has become a feeding trough for tens of millions of abled bodied parasites.

  16. I spent some time in the forge today, Ill be there all week getting ready for the upcoming gunshow. I made two small edc fixed blades. These were designed to be small utility knives, and if push comes to shove, work as self defense shivs. Both are made from 1095 Nichlson files. #1 2.75" blade, 5.5" overall. Flat ground, hand forged. Razor sharp edge, paracord wrapped handle ] #2 2.5" blade, 5.25" overall. Flat ground, hand forged. Razor sharp, paracord wrapped handle Then I decided to do something a little different. I didn't know if I was gonna like this or not. It has some hard angles, but I think I definitely like it. 5160 steel, hand forged. Flat ground. 6.5" blade, 11.25" overall. 5/16th thick. Paracord wrapped handle

Even when we have to fight someone in the ER, we don't spray it for medical reasons because it affects the entire floor and the other patients. Hell, I've had to spray people in the back of my / other's cars (and other enclosed areas) and I didn't want to get back in. Don't tell me they got back in the car and didn't notice. BS

  22. That's sort of they way it used to be.   Today, I'd say a modern equivalent would be that before you are allowed to vote you must no be on any direct government assistance (food stamps, welfare, medicaid, etc)...in other words; limit voting to "producers" rather than takers.   Not the it will ever happen of course but if I could change that law I would.

  24. The problem we have, as far as being firearm folks, is between a rock and a hard place. If you don't vote for GOP candidates that can win, then there's just that much more chance that a Dem will.   And at this point in American history, the first Congress where Dems have the majority in both houses, especially with a Dem prez, anti-gun legislation is a given. Probably even with a Republican prez, considering the ones that can actually get the nomination.   - OS

  26. Don't see how it could. Like the Blackhawk the Charter headspaces on the shoulder of the round, doesn't accept moon clips, and the .380 is 4.5mm shorter, so hammer wouldn't touch primer. .380 would be pretty loose in chamber, might go off it you held it straight up or something, so that round slid back to hammer, dunno.     Love mine. 9mm sort of feels like .22mag through the thing. :)   - OS

  27. Ole charlie is the classic race baiter.  He can say these outlandish things because he represents a district that overwhelmingly believes this stuff.  That, alone, should sober up some of the "open minded" are "reasonable" among us.  If ole charlie had his way; us "crackers" would be mistreated far more than we are today.  The good news is that ole charlie aint getting any younger.  It will be a great day when the grisly reaper pays him a visit.   The problem is that there are those in the black community who are younger and more militant who will take his sorry place.   They have been mentored and trained by the likes of those like the great Jeremiah Wright, Eric Holder, and Barak Obama.   The good news is that they are, in fact, a minority.   We need to defeat them politically and keep them a minority.   leroy the east tennessee "cracker"

  36. Al Sharton, Jesse Jackson and the Black Panthers all came to my home town to protest when those terrible Duke LaCrosse players raped that poor young exotic dancer. The only thing was.....they didn't do it. The woman was lying.  These boys lives were nearly ruined by this "linch mob". Yet did any of these people ever say "I'm sorry. We jumped the gun. We judged you before we knew the facts?" NO THEY DIDN"T!  They just went to Florida and did the same thing to George Zimmerman.    I guess they never saw "To Kill a Mockingbird".

  39.   Not all indigent people are worthless scumbags like the one who rented that house, but there are a lot who are.  The problem is how do you know.  I read a lot of the comments people posted saying how stupid the guy was for renting the property out through Section 8.  More than likely that was the only people who would go live in that area due to the crime rate, so he really didn't have a choice.   I find it amazing that the government was sending the landlord over $1k a month, and the tenant was only having to pay $53 a month.  I know a bunch of hard-working middle class people who receive no government assistance, and they would be hard pressed to come up with $1k for rent.  It is an absolute shame that our government is so irresponsible with the taxpayer's money.   I am not exactly sure how Section 8 works, but I hope there is something in place were the landlord can report this tenant, and she becomes ineligible for any kind of housing assistance in the future.  My view is that if someone is so irresponsible when they are receiving such generous taxpayer assistance, then they should be cut off and forced to provide for themselves.

  40. Yeah, they're no joke down there either. I found out the hard way as a kid that they are amphibious. We were hit by a hurricane or tropical storm and the streets in the neighborhood flooded, so of course, as soon as the band passed over and it died down a bit we went outside to swim in the flooded streets (about 2-3ft). About 5 minutes or so into it I realized I was being bit, then I realized they were all over my torso. As I'm smacking these little monsters on me I noticed that there were hundreds of them, all around me, just floating on the surface. It was like Sharknado, only with ants instead of sharks and a hurricane instead of a tornado.... and better production budget.

  42. I have seen this theory time and time again.  All that happens is the nicer neighborhoods, now forced to accept section 8 residents become not as nice neighborhoods.  It does not raise anyone up.   Geography does not hold people down, free rides hold them down.

  45. Maybe at one time. It made its way into our vernacular due to Cpl Klinger and his propensity to wear women's clothing. Of course, in today's military a dude can run around in women's panties and a skirt and it would be intolerant to say, "hey, that guy is a little crazy. Maybe he shouldn't be going patrol."

  46. It was my understanding that all Carmike cinemas had a no firearms "policy"; properly posted or not.   However, the only problems I've ever herd of were with those who openly carried; not a terribly smart move in a place with such a policy and given the fairly recent movie theater shooting in Aurora (now all the pro OC folks don't get excited; I occasionally OC but definitely not in a place where there is a no firearms policy!).   I rarely go to movies anymore...usually wait for them to hit DirectTV, Netflix and/or Amazon but when I do go to a movie I try to find a theater that isn't posted' legally or otherwise.

  47. That's a good read and one I've shared on facebook.  The question is; what can we do about it?   I'm thinking that maybe the most useful approach is to, as a matter of legislation, get the state or our towns, counties, etc. to essentially make these kinds of raids illegal as a matter of law except for rare circumstances and even in those circumstances, with significant oversight to ensure that these 'SWAT" raids, no-knock warrants, etc are absolutely necessary.   Of course, that's not going to protect us from our imperial overlords like the IRS, DHS, DeptOfEd, DEA, BATFE, FBI, etc., etc.

  48. I'm a hypocrite. I tell most people that its a bad idea but I have no qualms about using it. I'm also VERY picky and patient. I'm fine with not taking a shot and going home empty handed. I wait for the perfect shot or take a pass. I use a Barnes bullet and put it either right on the heart or, of the stars are in alignment, I will put it in the head. *gasp!*. I can also shoot a half inch or less at a hundred with my CZ527. Side of the head between the ear and eye and they fall right there. Tis is not to be taken lightly though, too low and you can destroy the jaw and they will run away only to starve to death. It's incumbent on EVERY shooter to be absolutely honest with themselves about their skill and ability. It's also of the utmost importance that if you are going to take an animals life, do it fast and as painless as possible.
