They should all die exactly the same way their victims did, be resuscitated and the process repeated. Over and over until their CNS or cardiopulmonary system can no longer sustain life. And then... life support, and repeat. When there's nothing remotely resembling a human form left, Hell can have them.11 points

I will not vote for Christie. Nor will I vote for Billary. If he gets the R nomination, we are damned if we do and damned if we don't. I will vote for whoever the Libertarians run, and pray that there are another 20% that are finally disgusted enough to vote with me. Then I am going to pray that Texas sees the writing on the wall and withdraws from the Union, so I can move to a country with sensible laws. I know, it's a pipe dream, but if either of those two get elected in 2016, we are screwed blue and tattooed. :(3 points

Remembering things that make me feel old isn't the problem. Problem is remembering at all. I do remember buying premium gas for .65 a gallon when I first started driving. And that was for octane much higher than the 93 we have now. I can also remember watching the Three Stoogies every morning on one of the three channels we got. Or when we would ride our bikes to the town hall, which was left open 24 hours, to get a 12 oz bottle of Coke for .15 because it was cheaper than .25 in front of the store. I remember the first sodas with a twist off cap, before that you needed a bottle opener. Or pull tabs on cans that actually came off the can. I cut my feet on more than one occassion while at the lake on them. I also remember using 5.25" floppy disks and using a hole punch to make it double sided. Or when 8 meg, not gig, of ram or a 40 meg, again not gig, hard drive was considered a lot. I remember buying a 2 meg stick of ram and it cost me $100. I also remember doubling my video memory to 1 meg. But I needed these upgrades to play Duke Nukem with friends on out 14.4 modem. I remember when connecting a 9,600 baud was considered a "high speed" connection. And that I thought we were in heaven when we first connected using our 36.6 modem. Or waiting all night for a file to download that was a single megabyte. I also remember having a stereo in the house that played 8 track cassettes. It also played vinyl records. I remember watching movies at a neighbors house on the new "laser disk" system. I also remember when VCR's first came out and they were the size of a microwave of today. I also remember when you could buy a box of 22's as a kid without anyone batting an eye. Or when missing the first day of deer season was considered an excused absence. But the biggest thing that shows my age is this. When I was younger being on welfare or receiving any type of government benefit was considered embarrassing.3 points

This story illustrates two truths... The first is that there is a heinous double standard in the media and in society RE: Black on white crime and it's reporting. The second is that you had better be armed. This whole sorry thing did more to arm real people in knoxville and the surrounding area than anything ive ever seen; and i fully understand why. It also emptied the "cup of kindness" for the black community for their silence on this heinous crime. leroy2 points

Jwk, I don't see the point in trying to salvage the thread, as per the OP his question was only hypothetical & would have had no bearing on any decisions he was planning on making on either his load-out or future purchases. Essentially he is just wasting everyone's time for no real apparent reason other than just because he could. Limited entertainment value aside, I personally see no further purpose to trying to answer his questions.2 points

If you honestly think I'm a bully because I gave you crap over a hypothetical question that was doomed when it was asked simply because of the limitations you applied, then there is no hope. My reputation here stands for itself. I constantly offer to have people come to my place, people I only know from this forum, never met most in person, and learn any skill I can teach them that they may wanna learn. The internet is a wonderful place. These forums have a knack for weeding out people who don't belong quickly. Tapatalk ate my spelling.2 points

How about this...why have public schools at all? It should be the PARENTS' responsibility to educate their children; either by their own efforts at home or by sending them to private schools...it's not the responsibility of the country to educate every child just because two bio donors got together...schools have become nothing more than daycare facilities and indoctrination centers and most kids who graduate high school today couldn't pass a basic exam given to an 8th grader 50 years ago.2 points

I think that's an argument we don't want to make. There are more than just the Ten Commandments. There's many, many more as I'm sure you know. If we go down that list, and acknowledge the punishment for some of those offenses, it makes the examples you have above look pretty mild. I'm on no way endorsing Islam, but you need to understand many of the same arguments we make about the Quran being full of stories about bloodthirsty savages can be made about the Old Testament. It's a losing argument. How about we just focus on equal freedoms of religious expression for everyone, regardless of what some sheep rapers on the other side of the planet are doing in the name of theirs?2 points

I don't think Christie will get the nomination I think right now the only thing going on is chatter amongst the northeast right leaning news organizations who would like to see Christie as the nominee. We saw the same thing with Fox News and Giuliani. If I am wrong and he does end up with the nomination, I would go feast on a bucket s*** before even considering to vote for him.2 points

Every deployment I went on included xbox 360's for entertainment. When your on a ship or out in some deseet shit hole, there is no internet. So I guess the military guys would just have to suck it up, since they couldn't be included in "the future" of gamiing. And I still know plenty of people, my parents, sisters, and most of fhe people in the area I grew up in, that don't have internet. I guess they don't deserve playing video games either? Neither should be in the school, but they absolutely should not allow one and not the other. I don't suspect it will be up long. I think the bigger problem is the same people complaining probably want the 10 Commandments up and not the whatever the Islam one's are. Can't have it both ways, either they all need to go up or none need to go up.2 points

My truck I just bought has "roll up" windows. My daughter looked confused at the handles and asked what they were for. I explained that was how you roll down the windows. She asked where the buttons were. I told her the handles spun to let down the windows to which she replied " that's weird, I've never seen that before" sent barefoot from the hills of Tennessee2 points

gas was still $0.89 in 1996, I remember getting REALLY mad when it went to $0.99 in 1998. That was the price in MI, not sure what it was around the country because they did not report that kind of stuff on the news and the net was not that useful back then.1 point

Normally people who ask questions have a reason for wanting an answer? If somebody asked what the best chainsaw for cutting firewood out of model a and model b was, and I spent 20 minutes typing up reasons why and sharing my experince, and made mention that neither of those was really approiate for the use listed and suggested they instead look into models c, d, and e and then they said it doesnt matter because it was just hypothetical and they werent buying a chainsaw, it would still piss me off. I come here for two reason. One is to catch up on news and talk with friends and the other is to learn and teach people. When someone is asking a question like theh want advice, then after 4 pages says it doesnt matter anyways it kinda pisses me off. Tapatalk ate my spelling.1 point

Trying to find a bow can be an overwhelming task. Let me break it down for you... Martin, Bowtech, Diamond, Bear, Matthews, PSE, RedHead, G5, Hoyt, LimbSaver, Mission, Parker...the list goes on. All are very high quality so if someone tells you you should only buy XYZ brand, they dont know what they are talking about. Back in the day, brands did matter but nowadays, not so much. Also, dont get caught up in IBO speed. The faster bows get, usually the less comfortable they are to shoot. IBO speeds also only factor in the lightest acceptable arrow weights (heavier weights are better for hunting/penetration) and the heaviest draw weight with the longest draw length...that criteria may only work for 1% of the population. Also, the faster the IBO speed, the more expensive the bow. I would target IBO speeds anywhere from 300-320 or so. Thats plenty fast and they wont beat you to death either. So, do yourself a BIG favor and go to a local archery shop. Not a big box store but an actually archery shop. The first thing they will do is measure your draw length. The next thing they should do, is pick out a few bows for you, adjust them and let you shoot them. Dont be surprised if you get tired quickly. Bow shooting requires muscles that even the strongest dont typically use! Pick the bow that is comfortable and you shoot the best. Also, try and pay some attention to how quiet the bow is. The reason why is because sound travels faster than an arrow does. Deer sometimes will "jump the string" meaning the crouch down a few inches in a split second and you often times will shoot over their backs. The more quiet the bow is, the less likely the deer will be to jump the string. Don't be too concerned with it either because there are TONS of aftermarket accessories to quiet a bow. When it comes to budget, the bow is just the first expense. Then you will need arrows, field tips, broad heads, a case, a release and a target. Thats assuming the bow you buy is Ready To Hunt (RTH). It is an AWESOME sport and there is no bigger rush than having an animal within bow range. Stick with it, practice shooting for your tree stand because its different than shooting from the ground. Do NOT get discouraged if you miss a deer. One only needs to watch an afternoon of the Outdoor Channel to figure out that even the best of hunters still miss from time to time. You may also want to purchase a range finder and that will help your hunting greatly. Don't be afraid to buy a used bow as well! There are so many junkies out there that have to have the latest and greatest and will hunt with a bow for 2-3 seasons and then buy the next one. An archery shop will make sure the bow is in good condition and safe. That will help you save a lot of money as well! I hunted the last 10 seasons with an 2001 Martin Cougar Magnum IBO speed of 315. Back in 01/02, that was one of the most advanced bows made. Now, I have "upgraded" to a Bear Legion with an IBO speed of 318...so like I said, just because a bow is old/used, doesn't mean its inferior. Good luck finding a bow! Keep us updated and post pics when you find one.1 point

No, its a ridiculous question. Neither is a good combo by itself. If I had to have a .22 lr it would be a long gun, but you can be sure my main firearms will be an AR and a 1911. A .22lr handgun takes power and accuracy away from a round that needs every advantage. Tapatalk ate my spelling.1 point

Again, I am not talking about hiking trails, etc. In and around the immediate vicinity of my home (my yard, etc.), however, - where I walk on a daily basis and where my dog runs, etc. - I would consider that $0.26 to be money well spent. I mean, I put out mouse traps to kill vermin and most see that as no, big deal. People use .22s to thin out things like chipmunks, sparrows and other critters they consider nuisances around their homes/yards. Shooting raccoons that are invading chicken coops and killing chickens is considered acceptable. I see no difference in eliminating nuisance animals that could, potentially, cause serious bodily injury or even death via venom from the vicinity of my residence.1 point

Usually I roast garlic as needed but I bought a big bag of already peeled garlic at Sams a couple of weeks ago intending to pickle and can it. I forgot and ran out of time so I spread it out on a flat pan with a little olive oil and roasted the entire bag. Once it was done I popped it into a food processor and crushed it. From there I spooned it into some silicone ice cube trays and froze it into small chunks. The chunks are now in a freezer baggie to be used as needed. I use those ice cube trays all the time. In the last few weeks I made a big batch of pesto and froze it in cubes. They are perfect for cooking a small amount of pasta. Also, I smoked a big turkey a couple of weeks back. I made extra dressing and gravy. I vacuum pack lunch portions of turkey and dressing and stick one gravy ice cube in there. Then my wife or I have easily heated turkey & dressing with a taste of gravy for lunch anytime we need it. Mark1 point

I went to the local Walmart here in Greeneville to buy a shotgun the other day and they told me that it was going to be 24 hour wait because of some terrorist red flag policy that the government was under. I told him that was bull crap and that I would just buy it somewhere else. Now that didn't hurt his feelings, but its the principal of the matter. If you are going to delay my transaction don't give me some lame excuse, man up and tell me why you are doing it. Luckily for me I went right down the road and got a better deal on a upgraded shotgun and got it order in a timely manner. I would rather wait three days because someone had to order a gun than wait a day because your store is lazy and wants to give out crap excuses.1 point

Cannon fodder? I in no way condone being here illegally, but it seems several of these veterans are getting a raw deal. Some crimes should not be ignored and they should suffer the consequences, but at the same time not every misdemeanor should be cause for deportation when there is no push to deport other illegals. If one is going to be deported, then deport every one. What about amnesty, would these vets be welcome back and all forgiven? As for articles being written in a way to incite feelings of empathy and sorrow, IMO almost all articles are written in a way to swing the majority of readers to one side or another.1 point

Yep. His new love interest lives here. He's bought some property and is building a house. Shaq sightings in the summer are fairly regular. Everything I've heard says he's exactly like you see on TV, just a (very) big fun loving kid. He's played pick-up b'ball games with kids in the park down the road from my house, he's been seen at the Waffle House, ... As for Lamar... while he may be from here, he's been living in DC so long that I personally don't consider him a local anymore. Earl Scruggs (bluegrass musician) lived in Sparta up until his recent passing. Pat Summitt lives in Alcoa. Phil Fulmer lives in Maryville, a couple miles from my house. Reggie White had a house here for many years. Trevor Bayne is from Knoxville.1 point

Compound bows, right? Nothing against crossbows, I just prefer compounds. I am not sure if CK Outfitters is up and running, but I have bought a couple accessories there and enjoyed the service. They treated customers well while I was there. The Sportsman in Dickson seems to be a good place. It's important to find a place you like and spend some time talking with them and other shooters. I had lots of help when I was a new shooter from fellow shooters on the local bow range. Bass Pro is the last place I would go. Not saying all the folks there are bad, but I have heard some serious BS while shopping their archery section. Buy a good used bow from a local bow shop and practice a lot. All of them will kill deer. Focus on quite more than fast. Focus on comfortable more than anything.1 point

If it were my son, I'd buy him the .308. Short action wins first in my book. Second, I believe that the .308 is a more versatile round. Regardless if you load or buy your ammo, there is a wider variety of loads for the .308. There are also lots of choices for other fantastic short action calibers if he ever wanted to rebarrel the gun. .270 has killed lots of deer. Nothing wrong with that caliber for straight up deer killing. I am certain that which ever gun you choose, he will love it and develop a fondness for that caliber. Best of luck.1 point

There are several three gun shooters in middle Tennessee but there are ten or less dedicated and serious 3-Gun shooters in the area. I know I was very intimidated by the variety of equipment and rules when I started. it is really not that bad though. I would be more than happy to provide any assistance in learning the game of 3-Gun/Multi-Gun. You would have to provide the range. Just send me a PM and we can discuss my experience and what you have in mind.1 point

Trying to get a reaction out of you? Just a few posts back you made a smart remark about the fact my father used to be a cop, as if to suggest that because of this there is something wrong with me. That is not only insulting my father and his lifetime of service to the community, but also insulting me, and you are suggesting that somehow I've done something more insulting? I went so far as to not even acknowledge it, but now I am since you want to play the victim. There is nothing in this thread I would not say directly to your face. However, there is no way in hell you would insult me and my father, or anyone's father, to their face. That makes you a cute little puppy. Got this off of one of my friends Facebook page snakes are out jest beware . His advise and a good one . Chad just got out of the hospital today, this happen Sunday in Montgomery County Alabama: To all my friends who hunt, camp, or spend time in the woods: after being struck by a 6ft timber rattler today while turkey hunting. The snake bit through my hunting pants and Muck Boots (I usually wear snake boots when turkey hunting, but could not locate them this morning). The initial bite felt like being hit in the calf by a baseball bat at full swing followed by excruciating pain radiating out from the bite wounds. Fortunately, I carry a snake bite extractor kit in my turkey vest, and was able to remove the majority (I guestimated 3-4 cups) of the venom contaminated blood. Following the instructions from the kit, I kept my heart rate down as best I could, and slowly limped the 200 yds to my vehicle, and was able to drive myself to the hospital which, thank the good Lord, was about 20 min away. Once there, I was administered the anti-venom, antibiotics, ect. The ER Doc told me that, based on the distance between the two fang punctures and their diameter and depth, if I had not used the venom extractor kit, I would have died before I ever made it to my truck. So, if you do not already own one, I want you to go to a sporting goods store and purchase a venom extractor kit ASAP. I bought mine at academy and it was around $10.00. I would urge you to buy a couple. Put one in each vehicle in your household, in your hunting or hiking pack, and especially your B.O.B. ect,,,,they are about the size of a bar of soap and can literally save your life or someone you love. Please don't blow this off. Do it tomorrow!!!! I am spending one night (hopefully) in the hospital, and may require some minor surgery to remove any damaged tissue from the poison, but that is a far cry from losing my leg or passing through the pearly gates!!!! Respectfully, Your Friend, Chad Cross1 point

“Your facts†are likely as devoid of substance ad your posts in this thread have been. There are approximately 18,000 state and local law engorcement agencies in the United States and some 800,000 sworn personnel...I doubt, even with your extensive interractions with said personnel, if the sample size devided by the total population would even register as a 1 1/1000th of a percent??  It also rather begs the question of just why you've had so much "extensive experience???? Perhaps once you've lived long enough to really have some substantial life experiences you'll eventually come to learn how worthless such personal “facts†are in judging the actions of other people, especially whole groups of people. Such hope on my part that you'll lear that lesson is fleeting, however, given your disgusting quip that you “haven't had any interactions that made me want to track them down off dutyâ€...how fortunate for those officers that they didn't piss you off too much. :rolleyes:1 point
