I was going to a Mom and Pop restaurant for many years and it was never posted. Then all at once I go there and it is posted. I spoke to the manager and he said that a few of his customers were complaining about seeing customers with guns and it was alarming to them because of their children. I said well I have been eating here for about 10 years and no one has ever seen my gun. He asked me what he could do to keep his business and not lose any customers so I offered him and option. I recommended posting his business as a Concealed Carry only restaurant and see how well that works. Next time I went there the sign read Concealed Carry Only. The place was packed with customers no one knew who was armed and who was not. The manager stopped by my table just after the waitress put my ticket on my table and he picked it up and thanked me as he has been seeing as increase in his business since re-posting and he liked my idea. I think if managers are willing to listen to other alternatives than just posting No Guns it can help both the HCP people and the businesses...........jmho4 points

Married, "wife doesn't speak English very well", a kid or three, hadn't been in town very long came from another post. Was under diagnosis process for mental probs, had a script for something in meantime. Used a "Smith and Wesson .45 semi-auto". - OS
Deployed for four months during drawdown and likely never heard gunfire that wasnt on a range. I'm tired of the press jumping on the PTSD thing. It's bullcrap. It assumes no one was an unstable nutbag before they joined the military. Having seen a person kill themselves after being in the Army for less than a week, I'm gonna assume law of averages when you have an organization that has employed millions and millions of Americans in the past decade and a half. Well i've decided not to glue myself to the news right now while they are in hyper-speculation mode, i'll wait a while until they get a few facts and stay away from the major liberal opinion channels like BSNBC and CNN ect. They did announce that BoBo the clown was going to make a statement, which I will not watch because of the high chance that he will politically exploit this incident. Like it happened an hour ago and he can't wait to get in front of the camera as if he has something important to add. I'll feel sad for the families for anyone that may have been killed in this incident but i've learned over the years that I wont know what really happened for a couple of days and I still can't trust most everything the major media outlets reports even then.3 points

Rather early to assume this is either a terrorist and/or Muslim related event isn't it? I mean it may be both but could be neither...I guess we'll find out as details start to come out.3 points

#2 flopped today. 10 inch beard and 1 inch spurs. He didn't gobble until I was 50 or so yards from him. I was walking slowly through the woods calling on and off. He was on top of me before I knew it. Sat down by a tree and didn't even have time to put my face mask on. I just lowered my hat to cover my face. Once he started gobbling he came over the hill and I shot him around 25 yards. 3 points

If I'm reasonably well dressed and out eating I've started politely asking managers at places that are currently posted if they would like to change their mind to win a customer and get added to the "posted!" app as a non-posted alternative. I've had one business owner get angry b/c someone else had apparently stickered his business without asking him and one manager that removed the gunbuster while I stood there.(and it has stayed down) I've found that if they see the app and realize how easy it is for me to find a gun friendly alternative on the handy map and dine elsewhere(across the parking lot in some cases) that all of a sudden they don't so much like being on the list of restaurants I won't patronize. I've also talked to several that won't budge but I'm always very respectful of their opinions and thank them for taking the time to speak to a potential customer.2 points

I love their motto: "Eat in Peace." Because if they don't post, we'll come in like Yosemite Sam and blast the place up, just as has happened, what, zero times now?2 points

With 9mm it's really not so much crimping. You have to slightly bell the mouth of the case to set the bullet in. Then your seating die needs to be set so thet it seats the bullet and remove that slight bell. The 9mm round is a slightly tapered round and not a straight wall round like a .38.2 points

Not bad for $38.50. Price on the Gold Bullets was $11.27 That's .05 per round. I was never a fan of the old GB's and I'm hoping they really are "New and improved. My local WM has removed the 3 box limit on everything but .22. The girl behind the counter tells me the hoarders and re-sellers are becoming less.1 point

Remember this was a guy who was member of Bloomberg's MAIG when mayor of Knoxville, then resigned from that and took out lifetime NRA membership in time to run for Governor. Takes a while to decide which side of the bread has the most butter. - OS1 point

I had a swarm come here a couple of years ago. Found a local beekeeper who was about a mile away who came and got them for free and then gave me a quart of honey! Here are a few pics of him getting the bees without a protective suit and he never got stung. I even ventured pretty close to get the pictures without getting stung!1 point

At the time I posted that, I didn't realize you didn't have to use the tubes that come with the gadget. Now that I've done more research, I see that you can take the yellow or green pickup tips off of the Dillon tubes and it will load directly into them. That's pretty cool!!1 point

Lebanon Agricultural Center, Friday 4/4, from 5:30 to 9:30 I went to my first Friends of the NRA banquet last year and it was awesome, much better than I expected. Lots of good food, drink (most include beer or wine), fun games, free gun raffle, silent auction for small accessories, and live auction for guns and other cool collectible things. It was so much fun that I went to 5 more of them in other counties. Tickets are normally $40 at the door but you can get them for $30 online if you buy before Friday. The Lebanon event is typically very popular and often sells out so get your tickets now. This includes your dinner, drinks, desserts, and a free ticket for the big gun prize which is raffled off at the end. Everything else is optional but I typically play some games and bid on small auction items so I usually come away with some cool gear too. I once got a great price on a gun at auction too, it just depends on how many people are after each gun, and there are a LOT of guns won at the event so you sometimes get lucky. Come out and support the local pro-gun groups and youth programs that receive all of the proceeds from the event. https://www.friendsofnra.org/EventDetails.aspx?eid=49087&sid=441 point

Yea I now need them also....., but there is something "That Ain't Right" about having a red-dot on a Pump Shotgun! 173rdABN and I spent yesterday at the range verifying our zeros. My old "Pre-Wilson Combat Sellout Scattergun Technologies" 870 will still put a slug Center-of-Chest at 100 yards. :pleased: But when did the sight radius change on my FAL? That front post is all fuzzy and gray now! :ugh: However, 173rdABN can confirm that my FAL still has very strong brass extraction and ejection!!!!! :up:1 point

The exact size of the implant will be selected by a well-trained and highly skilled technician, who will also make the injection. No Anaesthetic is required. The implant may or may not be painless. Side effects, like headaches, nausea, aches and pains are extremely temporary. Some bleeding or swelling may occur at the injection site. In most cases, you won't even notice it. Gold is nearly useless for post-SHTF purposes. Its too valuable. Last i checked gold was around $1600 an ounce, what are you gonna buy with that? Even the 1/10th oz. gold eagles are worth $160 still a large denomination. Silver is much better in this aspect. Gold is excellent for pre-SHTF wealth preservation. I personally believe for precious metals, that Silver Eagles and pre-65 90% silver quarters and dimes are best for purchasing things post-SHTF. While precious metals are good to invest in, i believe even more valuable at least immediately after an event would be trade goods. Alcohol, tobacco, chocolate, toilet paper, canned food, bottles water, flashlights, batteries, common types of ammo, pocket knives, common durable clothes, etc. will be in high demand. I believe it would be easier to trade something immediately useful than some silver. And no one really knows how it would really play as we as a country havent experienced anything like this yet1 point

I'm not aware of any reloading dies that produce the fluted heavy crimp seen on some magnum and +p loads, and at or near the base of the bullet. Two types of crimp for the reloader, both applied to the case mouth. Pistol rounds use a taper crimp to close the case mouth after the bullet is seated. As Raoul said, this removes the belling formed by the expander die, adding only a slight inward taper to the case. If you can see it, you probably crimped too much. Revolver rounds use either a taper crimp, or a heavier roll crimp which rolls the case mouth into the cannelure on the bullet.1 point

Reason number 2000 i'll will not visit that city, wont spend one dime there to support their economy. Pretty much the same reason I wouldn't have visited Paris during the Nazi occupation.
We would not want any backwoods militias around here!!
Backwoods militias are what made this country and would be great to have in every community in every state. Unfortunately, since people in general are fascist creatures, current day militias often require members to prescribe to belief structures that idealize specific social standards rather than focus on the Constitution and the basic principles of liberty. Otherwise I would be very active in a community militia. I'm not gonna go out and train with willfully ignorant people who believe 9/11 was perpetrated by the government and darkies are responsible for all the woes of our society. It seems odd that the leader made a big show of having rules, especially the "Claimed" rule, despite what we saw previously. When Rick was hiding under the bed, the second guy comes in, bullies the first into getting off the bed, and then puts the sleeper hold on him in order to get the bed. If they really followed the rules, then the first guy would have just said, "Claimed," and the second guy should have moved on. It could indicate poor writing. On the other hand, the fact that the social order was not maintained in this instance suggests that when the boss is not around, then the minions don't give a crap about rules and resort to typical roughneck behavior. I wonder if the bow guy who got the beat down was the same one who choked the guy who saw Rick? Could explain why the beatin' turned into a killin'. Also, someone should have grabbed the arrow from that dude's head; I thought Daryl was going to get it.1 point

For what it's worth, I bought Glocks from dealers that were LE trade ins. They came as pistols with one mag in a padded envelope. There were tons of police trades that didn't have boxes with them. People move. People put stuff in the attic. Trade based on the character of the man you're dealing with, not his lack of factory boxes.1 point

Because, despite their lack of aesthetic appeal, they work. They work when all other fail. All the older, classier, sexier designs need a trained skilled hand to get them to run like a Glock, and even then they will fail before the fugly plastic turd. A Glock is a framing hammer. We don't brag about or sit and admire a good framing hammer. We just use them and they don't fail. When I go to the range to have fun, I'll bring a Blackhawk. It's gorgeous and I love to look at her. When I get outta bed in the morning and tighten the belt around my britches, there's a Glock 19 on the right side. Later that day when I've been wallerin' on the ground and climbin around cars, I never give the Tupperware a thought. This is the definition of "Glock Perfection". It's the perfected TOOL and it works like no other.1 point
