The truth of this whole sorry thing will never be known for a couple of reasons...   The first (...as others have opined, that it happened in Louisiana, which is, indeed a whole other country....); and second, because of the curious abridgement of a bedrock tennant of American law that moves the accused from "innocent until proven guilty"; to "guilty if someone says so"....  It's un-American on its face...   I know this is a touchy subject; but the whole "child protection" thing is out of hand; and has been for a long time... It basically suspends a bed rock tennant of American law under the guise of protecting the innocent...     There is not a day that goes by in any state in the union in which someone doesn't maliciously (...and falsely....) charge someone else with heinous wrongdoing with children or spouse; and then coaches the child to corroborate the lie...   Sometimes the charges are true... In lots of cases, they are not... This good-intentioned quirk of law designed to protect the vulnerable has been turned into a convenient vehicle for whipping, punishing, ruining, and tarring your estranged "siginficant other" with a very great amount of immunity for the accuser...   Whether or not the charges are true or not is of little consequences in most cases.... The law as written in most states basically allows a vehicle for vindictiveness and "get evenism" if your "significant other" moves from a pleasant to an un-pleasant mood; and tilts the playing field in their favor.... If you are accused, you are deemed guilty; and no amount of evidence to the contrary, save a re-canting of the story (...which aint likely due to the possibility of charges being leveled at the accuser...) will suffice for exhonoration...   Once you have been accused (...no matter the outcome...); you have the "Mark of Cain"... Any potential employer can (....and most likely, will...) do a Google search during any pre-employment screening and find any public document "charging" folks with crimes... It's in the public domain... If they find it (...and they will...),  the answer to potential employment is "no thanks"....   Being as that the divorce rate is about 50% in this country anyway; folks should think long and hard about this sort of stuff when they pick that "significant other" , especially if there is a previous divorce or a 'blended family" involved... You better know who that person is (...and be right about it...) before you enter into a family relationship with them and their family....   Lest ye "do gooders" and "children's advocates" (...which we should all be, by the way...) get up in arms over this... I'm neither convicting nor condoning here... I'm merely pointing out the great potential for abuse in a point of popular law that should have never come up in the first place.... And, "no" I don't like child molesters... I put them a couple of levels below the "get-even" and "vindictive" bunch... Yes, i have children... They are grown...   As you can all see, this is a "pet peeve" of mine... I'll shut up now....   leroy

They clearly arrested and charged him with a crime he never committed. As a result, he lost his job, his home, and who knows what else. It's not like there was gray area that needed the assistance of the Supreme Court to decipher. There's no way the police or DA couldn't have made a 2 minute phone call to the BATFE to find out whether or no he was breaking the law. I believe, once they realized who he was, they were going to show him who was boss. That's not the job of law enforcement. Like most members of TGO, I'm not a fan of his. But I definitely don't like the thought of being arrested for doing something that others don't like or aren't comfortable with. Allowing that to happen creates a slippery slope. With that being said, I don't see him and his antics helping those of us who enjoy the already restricted firearms laws in any way. I wish he would stop.

Glad to see our brave crusader of justice is free to continue his campaign of righting wrongs.  Before I was concerned about my rights to carry an AR15 incased in kydex through downtown, but now I know I'm free to do so.  I will tell my grandchildren of this day. 

So here it is...my version of the recurved blade. It's 1/8" 1095 carbon steel heat treated professionally to RC59-60. As you can see it has nice large jimping to the front of the handle as well as within the handle on both the top and bottom. Even though the jimping is large it isn't rough on the fingers at all.The scales are cocobolo dymondwood and this thing if big.....right at 13" total length and a blade length of about 7". It has a nice long handle ....no wondering how your gonna grip it here. It has a lanyard hole and the handle is held on mechanically as well as with epoxy. The finish is very unique and I really like how it turned out. Truth be told it's so different I'm not sure I could even recreate it again if I tried. it seems very well balanced and I've very happy the way it turned out.

  I can't understand why some people are okay with government or police violating someones civil and Constitutional rights only because they don't like them or like their behavior. That is disrespect for the Constitution plain and simple. It's okay until their rights are violated in some way or the other. They can't be a champion of the Constitution and Bill Of Rights unless they defend everyones rights, not just a selected few.

I would agree with you 100% on the bolded portion. Yet it is precisely because of that Metro needs to be sanctioned harshly. The reason is that they knew who he was and their actions were different because of that. It is a clear cut case of a selective and malicious application of the law against someone who was a disfavored person. Is he a douchebag and a giant pain in the ass? Abso-friggin-lutely. That does not grant the police the right to treat him any differently than anyone else or to maliciously pursue charges against him for a crime he did not commit. The cops & the DA don't get to prosecute someone to "teach them a lesson" as this case so clearly appears to be.  I don't live in Nashville and I am pissed at Metro because the assholes are making me have to defend that douchenozzle. A woman calls the police late one night to report people in her shed stealing things. The dispatcher explains that they are very busy and there's no squad car in the area, but that they'll send someone over as soon as possible.  She hangs up and calls back a minute later to say: "You don't have to hurry now, because I shot them." Within a matter of minutes 6 squad cars, a dozen officers, a K-9 unit, plus helicopters and an armed response unit show up at her house and happen to catch the burglars red-handed. The officer in charge says to the woman: "I thought you said you'd shot them." She replies: "I thought you said you didn't have anyone available."

  Not exactly.  He violated the law of common decency, an intangible concept that is up there with these "natural rights" everyone keeps harping on.  Wasn't really a problem in the past when we actually had some semblance of a society in which people made a conscious effort not to disturb everyone else.  Now it's every person for themselves, screw everyone else.

I say this as I am on a limited budget, I've tapped into my tractor fund for the godfather and as a prior metal smith (aircraft mechanic type) am more than impressed with the quality with pro techs products.

Lenny ain't gonna get a dime. All he had to do was pop the "case" open, show the cops his NFA paperwork and that the rifle was unloaded, and go home, and he would have been fine.

Reading these comments, I think it's interesting to see how many are engaging in the same sort of rhetoric that anti-gun people use for firearms in general (the "why would anyone" type of logic).  Perhaps I am in the minority, but I don't see age as the issue here; it's the level of experience and skill the shooter possesses.  2 years old, 25 years old, or 80 years old, if the shooter is inexperienced and/or unable to effectively maintain safe control of a particular firearm, they shouldn't be using it until they have developed those skills.  If a 9 year old has been shooting since a young age and knows their way around a firearm, it is entirely possible they could safely and effectively handle an UZI.  Why would you let a small kid shoot an UZI?  The same reason any of us might choose to shoot an UZI; it's something we enjoy doing and if done properly, it doesn't result in the unintended death of another person.  I'm not going to insult anyone involved, but simply say that this is an example of how a seemingly minor lapse in judgement, something we all are guilty of from time-to-time, can lead to a tragic outcome.  The problem here was complacency on the part of the instructor.  My understanding of his background suggests he was reasonably well-trained and knowledgeable, but it seems he had a lapse in judgement in this case and this one cost him his life.  The parents are most certainly second-guessing their decision to allow their child to shoot this firearm, but they trusted the judgement of the instructor who should have known that this inexperienced shooter was not ready for a full-auto sub-machine gun.  

This whole thread gave me a laugh. I went to basic at Ft Jackson, C-5-1, tank hill. I was part of a package platoon of Parachute Riggers so went directly to Ft Benning for Airborne school right after basic. 21 years later retired here from the 1-160th SOAR (A).

  Have you read the ruling?  It clearly explains that one does not have to produce the evidence, only "retain" it.  He in fact had the documentation in the "case" and the LEO's did in fact see it.  He just did not give it to them.

  I was just listening to Phil Valentine in my truck talking about this, he made a good point that Metro police should know what the laws are and Embody should have a civil case against metro for being arrested for a law he didn't violate. I still think Embody is a bozo but actually I hope he wins a suit against metro because they were in the wrong no matter what anyone thinks about Embody.

As much as I dislike the asshat, I think odds are good he may have finally found the payday he has been after.

It will be interesting to see what Lenny's next move is going to be.  I'm sure he'll file a civil suit that will go nowhere.    Will he keep his up his antics?  Ratchet up the fear?  Learn his lesson and get on with his life?  Move to the much safer slip-and-fall in the grocery store scam?   Tune in next week, Kwik fans.... same Kwik time, same Kwik channel!!

I don't watch the show, but innocent or guilty. Just the accusation is enough to ruin him and his business.

I have no sympathy for an agitator asking for it, but....   If this guy has a history of anything, it has been carry weapons around and not killing people, over and over and over.   If he's prooved he's a threat to anything, he's a threat to his own ambition and cause.

Triggers are smooth as silk on these two (after very light polishing of internals with mothers mag polish) and both have custom grip panels. They shoot great! Tried a bunch of different grips but keep coming back to the factory rubber ones. Would like to add a Smith to replace my model 19 nickel I foolishly sold though. But they are nice revolvers. One with darker grips I've had since 1992 and the lighter grips belong to a 2014 model. thanks for looking! I

  In an Aug. 15 court hearing, Metro police admitted they saw the permit in the case where the rifle and silencer were being stored.   The judge at arraignment hearing refused to even view the NFA documents that Lenny brought with him.     That I don't know, not gonna look for the arraignment hearing writeup.     - OS

I picked up a couple from the Wal-Mart in Newport about 2 weeks ago. Also picked up a few for some guys at work from the Gatlinburg welcome center. So they are out there.

  I have to agree. I think he makes all gun owners look bad and hurts our cause. On the other hand, if I  were on the jury I would probably compensate him pretty well.

Good to hear! I've been on a loading spree with the identical Lee press you have. Got it almost ten years ago and still performs flawlessly. Cranked out 700 rds of 40 between Thursday and Friday night last week, 50 357 mag last night, and 150 38 spc tonight. Whew! My ammo cabinet is starting to look very healthy again! Tomorrow I plan to continue the streak with 44mag, and end the week with 9mm. Next week I might work up my very first 10MM. I enjoy making ammo almost as much as I enjoy using it. What about you?

  This is my experience. I've had a few instances where the deputy didn't even run my license/HCP... He just looked at it and asked me to slow down. All done in 90 seconds.   I always disclose the HCP and that I'm carrying. For me, I see nothing to gain from remaining silent on the matter.

  They don't find out about all the armed people who don't have permits, though, so that's rather moot at this point I think.   - OS

I am still of the opinion that they may have a case against him.  Since this was a tax exempt transfer it belongs to his FFL.  The TCA for prohibited weapons required the possession, in this case, to be "incident to carrying on the business for which licensed." I don't think attempting to bait police is incident to the lawful sale of NFA items.

Yea, he did get his share of attention if I took him out with me. He was definitely a ladies man cause women were really attracted to him. I guess it was that he was so ugly he was cute to them. I had him his entire life and had to bottle feed him from birth and had him about 16 years before I have to have him put down after a  heart attack he suffered. He is buried in my back yard here.
