I want to wish all of you a Happy Thanksgiving! For some of you that will mean being surrounded by friends and family. For others it may mean being surrounded by your brothers and sisters in the military, police, or civilian emergency services. And yet for others it may simply mean some time alone. If alone-time is what it means, I pray that it is because that's the way you want it. If not, I would encourage you to seek out company at the many churches and civic organizations who will be opening their doors to the public tomorrow for a warm meal and some time of fellowship. Do not spend it alone because you think no one cares. Reach out to me here if you have no one else to talk to and I'll be glad to give you a call or in the Nashville area I'd be glad to try to meet you for a cup of coffee somewhere. For those of you working this holiday to keep the rest of us safe and sound, God bless you! For everyone else, please be safe if your weekend includes travels or (God help you) venturing out into the retail jungle. Keep your eyes peeled, your sidearm close and your powder dry. No matter what it looks like these days, we still have much to be thankful for as a country.

  Digitial currency is magical internet money, so the dollar is magical physical money?   Try this, take your valuable dollars in to the bank, hand them to the teller and ask him/her "May I exchange these for what they are backed with?"   All fiat money is a joke, digital or otherwise.

I would forego the email and send a proper letter to the Chief.  That in a personnel file would go a lot further for the officer in the long run....assuming that's were it would end up.

The boss hooked us up today.  A Thanksgiving bottle.   I chose Mount Gay Eclipse Rum.  It is out of Barbados. A liter bottle. It's freaking awesome.  I have not had it in years.     Why did I wait so long?

Glock worked out the problems with the Gen4 a long while ago.  The current production models are good to go and have been for at least a year or two now.   In order of preference I'd go for Gen4 and then Gen3.  I'd skip Gen2.  I have several Gen3 and two Gen4 now.

It might be that the officer may not want his nice gesture known to all his fellow officers so I would try and see a way to make gift card that he can use personally and just say Thank you for your kindness to so-n-so in a Christmas card. Wait until a time when he can be approached and hand it to him, say thanks and walk away. A Prepaid Visa Gift card might be nice in a card..............just my :2cents:

An attaboy to the boss along with a note of the thanks to your local paper, will do more than a free meal or gift.

Why not send an email to his boss? I've done this before.   Typically they will read the email in front of all the other officers during roll call and recognize him/her.

    maybe if you gave more detail into what the officer did....   And being Thanksgiving this is near the slowest day annually on the board.

I'd cook it low at 250 or less until the internal temp is 150--ish. Then I'd wrap it in foil and a couple old blankets or towels and put it in a cooler for several hours so it cools very slowly. Be sure to let the leg thaw all the way up to room temp, all the way to the bone, before you start cooking.

Did it myself,easy to take apart, easy to put together, the utube videos are a must as there's minimal instructions. There's a trigger pin that comes pre installed which makes the install a lot easier. I bought their armorer block which wasn't really necessary,but it helped.'a little putting it together. Had one walking the ridge behind us this morning about 7:30 in West TN.  We were not setup for a shot in that direction.  Nephew saw a doe walking another field about the same time.   No takers today....   -with a full moon (?) last night and a windy, bright sunny morning, I didn't expect to see anything.

Try Costco for glasses.  I wear progressive lenses and my last pair with new frames cost $190.

I suggest cooking it at around 225-250 if you can run your pit that low. Also, don't try to cook it till it's fall of the bone tender like pork, it will be very dry. We cook to 150 internal, then pull it to rest and let the temp rise to 160 or so. You have to slice it, but it's way tastier in my opinion. The woods were good to me again today. That makes two tasty does since Sunday. One more & I'll start seriously looking for a good buck.

Picked up a bottle of Corner Creek on Mikes recommendation. I went for wine and always take a swing through the bourbon and whiskey. There it was for under $30 so I grabbed one. Took a snoot and have to say it's very good. I'm gonna enjoy this one.

Well...that was interesting.   Good selection of facts and some fiction. Just how strong are they, and how strong is our resolve to fight them?   That, I think, is the core question.   At one time, I would have answered that easily. But with the political appeasement climate of today, and our leadership sticking their collective heads in the sands(poor choice of words or prophetic?) in denial; I am not so certain any more.   The will to fight is not in doubt when speaking of ISIS or any of the Islamic groups. Granted it is not the type of war our leadership wants, and some say even wants to attempt to engage in.   But it is the war we are faced with, and the learning curve in Washington must change...and quickly, or we will be lost.
