Hey guys... no harm in asking! We are still moving forward. I had one prototype made and it frankly looked horrible. The engraving service was proving hard to work with so I abandoned them and have started working with another. Hope to have word this week! :)6 points

An Army Ranger, a Recon Marine, a Navy SEAL, and a member of Delta Force are sitting around a camp fire. The Army Ranger, bragging about his exploits says "You guys aren't so tough, I once parachuted down, marched fifty miles, and killed everyone in sight." The Recon Marine is unimpressed, and says, "That's nothing, I once made a beach landing, marched 60 miles, and killed everyone in sight." The SEAL is unimpressed, he says "That's nothing, I once swam 10 miles to shore, marched 70 miles, and killed everyone in sight with my bare hands." Thoroughly impressed, they all look over at the Delta Force member, and he's dead silent, just stirring the coals of the fire with his d***.5 points

Sorry, but this is nonsense and you sound exactly like the typical H&K "my firearm is better than yours" guy. So if 0W20 synthetic oil works just as well as your "gun oil" it's still inferior? What do I know, I don't own any of them fancy weapons. Only ones that will run on engine oil.4 points

This one is for a Benchmade 162 Bushcrafter. It has loops for the Exotac ferro rod and a ceramic sharpening rod I put together for the sheath. I have black steel hardware on the way so all the silver will be swapped out soon. I took the advice of others and made the drop loop removable, so it could be worn high on the belt or horizontally. With the D-rings, it has a couple of lashing points as well. There is a big thick welt on the blade side that roughly follows the stitching. What design tweaks should I make for the next one? I think I am going to make some minor changes to how the loops attach on the back, and the D-ring on the bottom will be attached differently. I placed the loops for the ferro rod and sharpening rod to the rear to make the face of the sheath more streamlined, but I am wondering if I should move them to the front. Like the previous prototype there are some minor flaws with the stitching and cosmetics. Suggestions are appreciated.3 points

I bought a new Tikka 204 Ruger as a lightweight walking around varmint gun, but it came with the nice wood stock. I wanted to shed the weight of the wood as well as try my hand at trying to Camo a stock. I was able to get a takeoff T3 Lite stock on ebay for $45 so it was now just down to a Hydro printing kit or spray paint. I really wanted to buy everything to hydro print as I like to play with things like this, but in the end, my $30 in paint won out. I have to say, I am pretty happy with how it turned out. I don't even really care if gets scratched for no more than I have in it, and a scratch will only blend in. Anyway, if you have ever wanted to try it, it's pretty easy. My results.3 points

So, I did a quick Google search for my next gun-oil idea... Thankfully no one has marketed ReallyYakSnot(®) yet. Now to contact my sources in Tibet. R_Bert3 points

Acid etched x4, this bad boy came out nice and dark. 01 steel etches really nice. I'm thinking some yellow/black striated G-10will look cool! Like a really sharp "bumble bee"! For your viewing pleasure!2 points

I drank the Frog Lube kool-aid and wasn't overly impressed. I've started using a blend of automatic transmission fluid and 5w30 motor oil. If they are good enough for the high friction, high temperature, and high pressure conditions in a vehicle, I figure they are more than sufficient for keeping my guns lubed up.2 points

That's what I mean when I wrote my angry one-liner. Anyone beating on the elderly, women, children, frail, sick, handicapped are such deprived, soul-less bags of dirt that have no chance of being rehabilitated. I can understand anger, but once he confronted Bobby, any last bit of remaining morals should have caused him to pause. Apparently that wasn't the case. Total lack of self-control, total lack of morals, total lack of anything that makes humans human. May he rot in prison for the rest of his pathetic life. My condolences to Bobby's family.2 points

Easy, he's a long lost descendant of Houdini ... Because they don't keep babies in jail, just bad guys who break out and escape almost as often as the bad guys on the old "24" series ... BTW, I want to know what type of batteries are in all these cars they keep firing up, obviously I'm buying the wrong brands ...2 points

Because of the circumstance of him having a stroke, sadly a DA can't prove premeditated murder. My hope is that he will at least serve the maximum for manslaughter. The POS is 53 so 30+ years in a prison he's likely he wouldn't leave unless it's in a box. Also sadly he would probably make a plea deal and only get about 5 and probation. Also it should have been obvious to the POS that Bobby was an old man, it's takes a real piece of human garbage and coward to attack someone who you know can't physically defend themselves.2 points

Really. The whole truck thing was Keystone Kops. Wasn't watching that closely at the time, but please tell me how HippieNinja Boy got on the roof of the truck after they left him tied up and drove away? - OS2 points

I had some interest in this last year, so I'm putting the offer out there. I am offering a one day basic course. It will cover throws, chokes, kicks, strikes, joint locks and ground work for the unarmed portion. It will also include Long knife and Tomahawk techniques, as well as improvised weapons design and usage in urban and rural areas. This will be a 10-12 hour class. Location will be within 20 minutes of Oliver Springs, TN. Water, coffee and Gatorade will be provided, you need to eat breakfast, bring a lunch, and bring money for supper at a $10-15 per person restaurant after the class. I'll be your main instructor, as well as my father, who is a 6th Degree black belt in Taekwondo, Hapkido and Judo. I hold black belts in those three as well and that is were the unarmed techniques will come from. The long knife and tomahawk techniques are drawn from my one on one training with Col Dwight McLemore. You will need to bring a mouth guard, pants, non-steel toe boots or shoes, and a tshirt or sweatshirt. Any weather except snow. Training will be outdoors and your clothes need to be suitable for mud, dirt and grass. For more info PM me. The class will be Saturday March 12th, meeting in Oliver Springs at 630 am eastern time. http://m.wsbtv.com/news/news/local/business-owner-requiring-all-employees-be-armed/nqWHn/ I applaud his effort although I don't think I would make it mandatory but strongly encourage it. Obviously the boss isn't a gun guy. Poor choice of weapons in my opinion. Adequate but poor. I would opt to carry my own which I would have been already unbeknownst to anyone.1 point

I sat down and took a serious look at the meds my doctor had me on, my eating habits and lack of activity and said enough. Through a combnation of walking and a low calorie diet I dropped over 30# and am no longer taking any perscription meds. Being healthier is a pretty good thing.1 point

If you ever have to bug out technology should be the last thing on your mind as there's not going to be any. As far as the show goes they're probably too busy living. Feeding and sheltering one's self can actually be a full time job, especially in a world where nothing is provided.1 point

Yea I would say he isn't around anyone who knows about guns, at least handguns, it's not what I would choose. I would let them choose for themselves after having them fire several at a good range with a good instructor and have them take advanced classes, have a range day a month for practice, have employee competitions. Of course first I would have to be a rich businessman.1 point

I really like for how it being a bushcraft type sheath it appears so thin or slender. I'd be extremely happy to own a sheath like that. Nice work. :up:1 point

Yeah, I wouldn't go the mandatory thing, or the Judge thing, but I applaud his efforts to make his people more safe. I imagine a lot of those Judges hang out in the drawers.1 point

I have a couple rifles with magnified optics on top and a set of fixed angled iron sights installed for closer up stuff. Absolutely love it. On my M&P10 I have a 6-18x Vortex Crossfire II (if I were doing it again now, it'd be a Diamondback) with 6x as the minimum magnification, the angled irons are a must for any type of quick acquisition. Though up close is not the purpose of the rifle, it's nice to have the option. I shot someone else's rifle at a 3 gun match that had some nice 1.5-7x or something on top, and a reflex red dot on an angled mount. It was one of the most natural and comfortable things to use. So fast for close engagement (maybe 30-40 yards and in) and then drilling 6" poppers further out. Shooting the rifle at a 45 degree angle is more comfy than vertical, imho. I have the angled irons cuz they're cheaper, but they might be replaced by reflex sights later on. 'Specially if I get my lazy butt to more 3 gun stuff.1 point

I've been thinking about the wording of my earlier post in regards to Trump and the Trumpets. Since I was questioned, I have thought "did I word that too strongly?" over and over. The answer is no. I have been working from 7 am to 9:50 pm with no longer than 2 hours' of break time all day. I haven't had time to write my treatise on Trump. However, while taking a Trump... er... dump... I came across this piece from Matt Walsh. It pretty much 100% explains exactly how I feel about Trump and his fans. Take 5 minutes and read through this. If it angers you... great! Why? http://www.theblaze.com/contributions/dear-trump-fan-so-you-want-someone-to-tell-it-like-it-is-ok-here-you-go/1 point

This is headed for a new home in Nashville. This is 1/8" 1095 carbon steel professionally heat treated to RC 60. It has beautiful slender Bocote scales with SS pin and lanyard hole. OAL is 10 3/4 with a blade length of 5 1/2". It ha thumb jimping and some nice file work on the spine. As you can see it is double acid etched. It comes with the brown kydex sheath and belt loop.1 point

Keep in mind that not everyone ever involved in a shooting is going to be a steely eyed gunman ......far more people involved in shootings are minimally skilled. The issue is when a minimally skilled individual cocks their pistol , changing that 12-15 lb trigger to a 4-5 lb trigger that they are most likely not used to operating under stress and you set the stage for an easily predictable negligent discharge. Then let us assume that the event is successfully negotiated without use of gunfire...now what does he/she do with their now cocked revolver? With shaky hands (from adrenalin dump) they are now going to hold the hammer as they pull the trigger to let it down on a live chamber? .... Or in the case of a DA/SA auto....do they know where the decocking lever even is? What if they are rolling with a CZ75 ? You still have to press trigger and lower the hammer to decock those..... Part of the move to DA only guns in police use was to not only make it less likely for shaky hands to apply too much pressure to a 4-5 lb trigger and make the gun fire accidentally, but to also eliminate the extra manipulation of decocking before holstering if the gun had been fired (and eliminate the need to REMEMBER to do the extra manipulation). Now if you are a 1/10th of 1%er and you are 100% competent and confident in your abilities even under stress because you have trained to a level of operating on auto pilot then none of that applies to you and you can probably do anything you want (cock the hammer, etc) and it will be OK...but there is a reason that we refer to SERIOUS GUNMEN as 1/10th of 1%ers because MOST people who simply own guns, or even most people who carry guns as part of their job are the OTHER 99.90% that probably should not take a tool they may not thoroughly understand and have not mastered the use of and then make it EASIER to fire it accidentally when they are in the most stressful situation they have ever been in.....1 point

The wife and I voted yesterday. Cruz supporters here as well. But I will say it until I am blue in the face. In the primary you vote with your heart. In the general you vote with your head. The "my guy didn't get picked so I'm going to take my ball and go home" mindset will deliver the whitehouse to Hillary or Sanders and then its just a few short years until gun rights are practically a thing of the past once they get their SCOTUS nominations in place.1 point

The comment made was that the gun company was marketing this gun to violence prone young men; however, it was not a young man that bought, but a middle age woman, his mother. Furthermore, the reason he had the gun was because he killed the legal owner and stole it. Given these facts, how can this situation in any way substantiate the claim being made against the gun company's marketing strategy? This is absurd. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk1 point

Most hunting regs make sense to me, there are a few that do not though. Hunting at night, for coyotes and other nocturnal species should be allowed. You don't see any issues with hunting coons and opossums around here, why are coyotes any different? The whole baiting issue is another one, you are allowed to plant plots, put out salt blocks (non food based), and hunt around other food sources such as farm fields and fruit trees but can't hunt over a feeder. And the distance to a feeder has never been addressed. Having a neighbor put up a feeder can theoretically make your place illegal to hunt.1 point

A J-Frame Smith either OWB or pocket carry. I have had several of my fellow HCP holders explain to me that I stand no chance against the ISIS battle group that inevitably assaults my neighborhood Walmart. Whereas, they with their neato double column semi-autos will be able to save the day by taking out the entire ISIS organization with two extra magazines of 9MM. This is based on their combat experience at some neat school at some pistol range. I spent a total of 60 months in combat in VietNam (4 Tours) with the USMC so I am in no position to question their superior logic. I only need 5 shots to shoot the dumb SOB that goes looking for me and finds my hiding place.1 point
