I know... the stainless steel tumblers aren't up for sale yet and here I am talking about something else. Well, the tumblers should be posted on Monday (Memorial Day) and we'll do a pre-order window of about two weeks for them before I put the order in with the supplier, but I have something else in the works too. A few months ago we talked about doing some morale patches. It didn't get off the ground at the time, but I've sent out the proof image shown below to a few suppliers and am starting to get pricing back. I intend to move forward with these pretty soon as well. Right now I've been soliciting suppliers of PVC patches because they're a little cheaper and look better than embroidery, in my opinion, but I am willing to send it out to some embroidery shops also. Let me know what you think. I am also going to send our circular "icon" over to them to see what pricing looks like on them too. But these rectangular patches would be the typical 3" wide by 2" tall design that fits most hats, jackets and packs with velcro tabs on them.7 points

I had some free time tonight so I decided to do a drawing of my recent AK build. Started out to do a more technical drawing but got part way through and said screw it, so I ended up with this. It's hard to tell from the photo but it's actual size of an ak.6 points

So it is no secret that my heathen was raised around guns. She has been shooting since she was four years old. She started with a single shot bolt action .22 rimfire rifle and has progressed to where she can and does shoot an AR at the range. As she turned 9 last year she was eligible for 4H Shooting Sports this season. We signed her up and her first practice was in April. At her very first practice her coach inquired as to her experience shooting. I explained that she had a handful of years under her and I hoped he didn't have to unteach too much of what I had taught her. To my mild surprise he stated that she was a pure natural and asked if she would be interested in shooting the first match of the season, less than two months away. The Heathen is right handed, but left eye dominant. I have raised her to shoot left handed rifle. I am also cross dominant and it has never hindered me to shoot off-hand to my dominant eye. The coaches embraced this and let her do her own thing. They are all very impressed with her. They call her a natural and have been teaching her on Target Air Rifle, Sport Air Rifle, Target .22 and Sport .22. She also shoots archery. With a recurve. Nearly alone in that discipline as nearly everyone else shoots compound (bare, hunting and target.) The coaches are awesome, and have gone as far as to special order her a left handed Target Air Rifle and a left handed Target .22. They have that much faith in her talent. And on to that talent. Saturday was a dreary rainy day in Kentucky. But it didn't stop her. It was her first competition with less than two months experience on a Target Air Rifle. She placed 3rd. We are beyond thrilled.1 point

They come and they go, like the waves on the beach. Here is one that might prove interesting: Custom McGowan threaded heavy taper barrel, OEM stock redone by a fella they call Turmite, trigger by Plinker4life, bedding by Plinker4life, bolt by Que. That scope ain't much but it is all I had but it does adjust down to 15' or so. Purty little stock, with bubinga tip and round bubinga inserts where the sling studs used to be on the bottom of the stock. Some sort of automotive finish. But will it shoot?1 point

This was a first for me. I've seen people open carry in the past and not given it much thought. It's not my thing but to each his own. Tonight, i was at a local grocery store and noticed someone carrying what appeared to be a Bond Arms pistol in the 4:00-5:00 position. Ok--no big deal. Then i noticed something around 3:00. Out of curiously, I had to do a walk by only to find the guy had TWO identical pistols on the same side. I don't guess i have a problem with it but i'm not sure what kind of "tactical" advantage this set up gave the carrier. For the 40oz weight of two 3" bonds arms derringers (assumed), he could have easily carried a G19 fully loaded and a spare mag. For an extra 5oz's he could have gone with a G19 and a Smith 642. Again, not infringing on his right to carry what he wants. I think Bond Arms makes some bad ass guns. But for open carry? If i'm going to draw extra attention to myself and potentially be a target, i'd pick something bigger than a nice derringer..........1 point

Heavy taper barrels tend to shoot better than straight or sporter weight tapered barrels. I need to tear down my Ruger Charger and set the headspace on it and set a barrel back. I am going to try to thread the factory front sight onto a shorty barrel, then sleeve it and finally, thread it. I like the idea of having irons on a pistol. It is been something I have wanted to try doing for a while now.1 point

And tries to steal all kinds of swag from the Deals Gap store. I know the guy who used to manage it. He said he was dumbfounded by the number of rich doctors, bankers, and lawyers out playing "biker dood" who tried to steal stupid crap.1 point

Sounds interesting. Lazy Magnolia's Southern Pecan beer is really good. A pecan whisky might be tasty as well.1 point

I just spoke with a buddy yesterday and he said he found 2 beds on Wednesday in about 3 feet of water on Old Hickory and he brought 30 males back home. He does same thing I do. He only will keep the larger males that are almost Black and releases the females and smaller males so the spawn will continue and the Shell Crackers will always be in our lakes. And yea, I like eating them better than Crappie and they are much more fun on light tackle than crappie are to catch!!!!....................1 point

Those shims work, but I don't like them. They can slip off the terminal as well. In cases like this, I would (and have) spent a few bucks and 15 minutes to buy a nice set of heavy duty and properly fitting terminals and just swap them out.1 point

Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's another thread devoted to bagging on Memphis. We're a Delta city with a completely different history and culture than the rest of y'all and y'all don't like or understand us. That's cool. The feeling's mutual.1 point

To offer something of substance.... If you could take a turd and chrome it, a Harley rider would find a way to bolt it to his bike. If you could make that chrome turd light up, a goldwing rider would bolt it to his.1 point

I know that I couldn't care less what he says, nor have I heard of him before: however, I do not seek out "trainers" like this.1 point

Glock 20 or 29 are good options. While not as thin as a single stack, the Gen 4 frames fit good in my medium size hands. Or you could get one of these... Guncrafters No Name 10mm Melonite1 point
