Picked this up yesterday. These are scarce as hen's teeth. Very difficult to find and even harder to find in excellent condition at a decent price. I got lucky! Sig Sauer P220 in 38 Super.7 points

Hello. Decided to list another one of my multiples to see if there’s interest. This is a Smith & Wesson 686-3 with a four inch barrel chambered in .357 (also compatible with .38 special). It’s a six shooter with a square butt. The 686 is a must have in any collection. Price is $875. Only trade interests would be a 3” prelock S&W 66 or 686 or a 20 gauge Super Black Eagle. Must be willing to meet in Brentwood, Nolensville, Cool Springs or downtown Nashville. DL or HCP flash to confirm residency required. Check out my other listings. Please DM me if interested. Thanks for looking.3 points

I usually attend the gun show in Sparta every time. I have seen holsters vendors come and go. About 1 in 15 people are looking for a holster but are usually too cheap to spend money on quality.2 points

Bump. Told the wife I'd sell something to buy something. Help a brother and purchase so I can sleep inside and get a new bucketlist item.2 points

So on a whim I bought a SarUSA P8S stainless on clearance from PSA like $299. Not for any specific reason other than to just mess with it. I've been wanting to try a pistol optic and possibly someday a suppressor. I confirmed with a dude at SarUSA the existence and availability of a threaded barrel and he was cool as heck and confirmed the 4.3" threaded barrel they sell can be had without ports so if I do decide to get a suppressor I should be good. There was some "drama" getting a functional plate...The nice dude from Sar sent me to Galloway Precision who had one that replaces the rear dovetail...not good at all...sent it back ended up getting one on SarUSAs website that works fine for what it is. But both companies did answer the phone and tried and I got what I needed and a no hassle return on the mistake...so good on both them. I picked up the Osight S on the cheap cause I can't afford to go "buy once cry once" on a concept that I may just hate. I just wanted something cheap and a donut of death as my astigmatism is problematic with dots. I really like it. The auto brightness seems pretty doggone good even in shade looking out into sun. So far everything with it has worked like it's supposed to. I on the other hand I am struggling a little. I think I'm getting better at it but if I'm aiming down I have trouble finding my donut...aiming level no trouble...aiming up no trouble. I'm sure if the slide was milled and there was even a sniff of cowitness that I wouldn't have the problem. But if a frog had wings it wouldn't bump it's rump everytime it took a jump...1 point

It's been my experience with making holsters that @jredbryant nailed it. Gun show customers act like they're at a yard sale and seem to have no sense of what things cost.1 point

I like the designs ya put up. The problem with holsters and gun shows is everybody is looking for something for nothin. I used ta hunt used holsters at gun shows and wuz ruthless about buying em at the lowest price I could negotiate. I would buy only old time top of the line stuff. That said: I think the custom leather business is a good gig if ya make a great product. Vegetable tanned leather, good designs, excellent finishing are what make good holsters and that ain't cheap. I would tend to build up a clientele and build on a first come, first served basis ALA the Simply Rugged Holsters guys. some food for thought ... leroy.1 point

New price posted. I've had quite a few inquiries but so far no one has sealed the deal. I've now priced it out in such a way that you can get some extras thrown in and opt for some more if you really want them.1 point

The colt logo moved from the rear to the middle of the slide around Serial Number 285,000, according to book. It isn’t possible to know if slide is correct, without knowing the serial of the frame.1 point

I have thought about this a bit as I also do leather work. My thought is it would only pay out in future orders (for myself) since I do full custom work. I don't at this time have the hours to put in to be able to fill a table and get a return on the set up fee. I've actually fallen behind by about a year due to home circumstances. The work you have posted looks to be of good quality which sells to those who know what they are looking for. I've seen at least one maker set up at the shows with lesser quality and he doesn't seem to have a lot of business but he has been consistent over several years so I'd say it would work if you can produce higher volume.1 point

The top holster would sell probably for around $80.00-$100.00- The middle for approximately $125.00-$150.00- Bottom $50-60- So my answer would be a yes they would sell- This of coarse is only my opinion and it's only worth what your paying-1 point

Just in case those around the Knoxville area didn't get the memo, future shows will move from the Kerbela Temple to "The Venue", which is located just north of Lenoir City on highway 70 near where I-75 crosses over. (no exit there though) Good move in my opinion, as the space at the Kerbela Temple is pretty limited. "The Venue" looks to me to be roughly twice the size of the Kerbela Temple, & half the size of the space that RK uses at the Expo. I've been around since the SMGCA was a 500 table show back in their glory days in the '80's at the Worlds Fair Site. Would be good to see it outgrow "The Venue" someday, & possibly get back to an Expo size show. Edit: Show dates - July 19th & 20th - 20251 point

Shadow Systems DR920 Elite for sale. The handgun has an additional Holosun HS407C x2 red dot mounted with a C&H plate. There’s also a factory screw-on compensator, a Timney trigger, and a CVLIFE light. (The trigger is light and the light is BRIGHT.) I have owned it a couple of years but haven’t shot it very much. I don’t ever remember having a jam or failure to feed. Gun shoots great. Comes with three magazines. Price is $ which is less than half what it all cost new. Cash only to TN CCL holder. Not interested in trades at this. Must meet in Franklin/ Brentwood area. PM if interested.1 point

@Grand Torino does excellent work and prices his knives very reasonably. I've bought a couple from him, and they're genuinely nice knives that I'll keep until I die. You need to be quick, though, when he advertises a couple of new knives for sale. They usually go very quickly.1 point

JustEd, I stated shooting at 25', not 25 yards as 25 feet is a little over 7 yards. Big difference in distance to me. I don't consider the Bodyguard a very capable pistol for a 25 Yard Shot myself. Not what I want it for. This pistol is strictly a "backup" (a get off me pistol) pistol for me carried in the weak side pocket. A New York reload, if you will. Sorry for the confusion. My intention is to purchase the Bodyguard 2.0 when we return from our camping trip. Now the Ruger RMX is another consideration for me, at this time.1 point

I remember watching the TV show called "The FBI", back in the.........a long time ago. Efferum Zimbalist Jr, could down a helicopter with his snub nosed .38. I am recovering from a shoulder replacement on my shooting hand. I am having to carry on my left side. I wish I had practiced more shooting left-handed.1 point

For me its the Colt/Ruger style single actions. I've owned 5 or 6 over the years. Sold them all. I grew up on westerns and always loved the cowboy guns. I have an ongoing love affair with lever rifles and own about a half dozen from .22LR to .45-70. The problem is that a touch of arthritis in my shooting hand keeps my middle finger from closing completely. The result is that a Colt or Ruger type plowhandle grip makes the back of the trigger guard slam into the middle finger knuckle HARD! It only takes about one cylinder full to have that knuckle bleeding and make it sore for days. However, I found a solution by going to a couple of lesser known cowboy guns with a slightly different grip shape. A S&W Schofield and a Remington 1875. But alas, I still yearn for a real Colt.1 point

The Ruger RXM is basically a Glock. If you don't like Glocks, you're probably not going to like the RXM. The M&P M2.0 with the new flat-faced trigger feels pretty good. At this point in my life and my journey as a student of the gun with nearly 40-years of near constant shooting under my trigger finger, I will say that I really don't think trigger feel matters as much as anyone says it does outside of dry-firing. So long as the trigger isn't absurdly heavy or doesn't have massive pre-travel or over-travel, everything else is just what it is. What people should care most about are reliability, fit to their hand, and ergonomic comfort.1 point

Favorite pistol currently (subject to whims and fickleness) Canik TTI Combat. Great trigger and a natural balance not found in other semi autos I own. Looks really cool too, as a bonus. Coming in at #2 would be my Ruger SP101. Not much you can say bad about Ruger revolvers, or anything else they manufacture frankly. Probably have a different opinion after the next range trip. But thats what's fun about shooting1 point

The last few I’ve went to were the same overpriced vendors selling new guns for more than MSRP and private sellers who “know what they have” and are still holding strong with Covid pricing on guns that are neither rare nor hard to find. There may still be a deal to be had walking around or laying on the table but I find less and less reason to pay the ever increasing door price to find out. It is a good reason to go visit Harvey’s Pistol and Pawn though. Usually after the show closes at 5, you will see a few vendors at Harvey’s buying stock for their table.1 point

I bought a Savage Carbon Predator last year. Saw it sitting on the shelf and instantly thought I gotta have it! Performance wise, it just didn't jive with me for some reason. I hated the trigger "dingus" on the thing .. and it was so so on accuracy. The stock was far too short for prone shooting. Short enough that it "scoped" the crap outta me once. So it just sat in the safe for the most part. A few months ago, I put a Magpul stock on it. I re-zeroed after the stock swap about a week ago. It has become a 1 MOA rig now. It was a totally different stick, especially in prone with the extended stock spacers. Even the accuracy increased and recoil was much better mitigated. Best $135 I've spent concerning that rifle. YMMV ETA ... I just noticed that this was a 2 year old thread.1 point

In order to pave the way for our future upgrade to the Version 5 of our forum software, I am having to make some changes to the way that we handle tagging threads. Up until this point, a member could basically create their own tag by using the hashtag symbol within a thread. From this point forward, members will have to use a set of pre-defined tags that the staff and I set within the software. I am also removing all instances of miscellaneous tags and settling in on tags that make sense for specific things. For most of you this won't matter at all. Not many people used the feature in the first place. Except... We use tags for our Trading Post forums and that is why this change will be a good thing and not a bad one. We will soon begin using tags that indicate where you as the buyer or seller reside. This should make it a lot easier for folks who browse TGO from a mobile device.1 point
