  1. Yes I have. I mentioned in another post somewhere on here. It was my FIL wanting .22lr. Long story short, I told him, "oh no, you voted for this joker, you're on your own."

  2. Just picked it up today. FNH FN Five Seven and 100rds of ammo: I understand this gun gets a ton of hate and starts pissing matches all over the web. Don't care. You either like it or not. I happen to like it.

  5. I have upgraded the Tapatalk mobile app add-on this morning to the latest version.  This version fixes the extra HTML line-break issue but we've noticed elsewhere that it causes the preview to constantly show the first post in the thread on the mobile app, rather than showing the latest post in the thread.  I'm sure the developers will drag their feet on getting this fixed the same way that they drag their feet on fixing everything else.   Seriously, while  I enjoy the convenience of the app as do most of you, the Tapatalk programmers are the world's worst.  They suck at bug-checking and validating their changes before shoving it out to the consumer.   Enjoy yet another crappy release from them!

  8. I don’t claim to be an expert on the laws of all 50 states, but I’m pretty comfortable with my own interpretation of the use of deadly force that I think would protect me from a criminal conviction in all 50 states.   If me, or someone around me is in immediate danger of death or great bodily harm; the use of deadly force is justified. While I (as a citizen) would not have fired on him I think the argument could be made that the immediate threat of death or great bodily harm was still in play with the perpetrator of a violent felony running with a gun in his hand. I wouldn’t want to have to go to trial to make that argument; but I don’t think a jury would convict.   If I was a cop I would have shot him dead just like the manager did and no one but the usual suspects that always question a cop shooting would have said anything about it.   Everyone in the area was in immediate danger of death or great bodily harm when the manager shot him.   As far as who fired first; unless the news story are wrong the Manager said he fired his weapon first.

  9. Either that or those particular models were never submitted for approval.  My understanding is that each sub-model, like a 10-5 or 10-6, has to be approved.  Craziness.

  10.   That is exactly what it is. These events are happening all over the city, from what I've read, not the hood. Rather than worry about tourists going armed, the city should be worried that tourism will cease completely in Chicago.  I wouldn't go there now for any reason.

  13. Is a $60,000 vehicle worth it?  A $15,000 vehicle will go faster than the law allows.   Only the buyer can determine if a automobile or a gun is worth the price.  Many factors are involved in that decision.

  15. I thought I'd post some pics of my dads end of the world chicken coop. My name, not his lol. Its built out of oak we cut from our land, then cut on the band mill. It sits on oak 6x6's with a rock foundation, and its built in a bat and board style, with external nest boxes to get eggs from the outside. It has storage up top for anything you'd really need to store, we usually keep chicken feed up there. Anyways I thought I'd share, since its on of the strongest and best built chicken coops I've seen, and I'm proud to say I helped my old man build it. 16. I just bought this on Saturday and it rained all weekend long. According to UPS tracking I'll be getting 6 - 50 round boxes of 40S&W on Friday. So, it's to the RANGE on Saturday to try this baby out. I am very excited about this pistol..!!! Trigger work by Stewart, competition Block and Hammer.....I am well pleased. 18. Me too. I have ammo for 308 Win and 22 Hornet, and nothing to shoot it in. Also have 22-250 dies with no gun so chambered. It won't always be that way, however.

  19. Cruz/Paul would be great.   Initially I thought Cruz was ineligible because he was born in Canada, but the talking heads on the radio just discussed the same topic the other day and his mother was already a US citizen before she gave birth, so he is eligible.    Rubio seems to have just about fizzled out, he had a lot of energy but didn't seem to have any direction.  Cruz walked in with a set of titanium balls and sat them down on the table on capitol hill and laid down how things are gonna work.  Even if he fails at some things which is bound to happen in the grinder up there, he stays focused on the exact issue at hand and doesn't fray from it one iota.

  20. You're looking at it all wrong. You buy the ammo, and that gives you a valid reason to buy something to shoot it in.

  22. We were already well far down that path. OBL and Al Qaeda were just the excuse the statists in our own midst were looking for. The Islamic terrorists are not our real enemy, our real enemy is us. As a nation, we have done this to ourselves. When our response to an act of violence/terrorism/war is to attack ourselves and the liberties that define our country and her people the way we did with the Patriot Act, the problem isn't them, it is us. When an attempted incident is thwarted and we start making people submit to sexual assaults to board a plane, the problem is us. Finally, when we have an attack with all of three fatalities and people call for the surviving suspect to be stripped of his rights as a citizen, put an entire city on "lockdown" and treat the citizens like they were inmates in a prison (where the term originated) there is no denying the problem is us.  The majority of the people in this country have given up their rights and accompanying responsibilities as citizens in exchange for EBT cards and the assurance of a safety that can be never guaranteed. Welcome to the USSA.

  23. Robert, why is the onus on anyone here to provide you with evidence that this guy was justified in this shooting? You are the one saying that he isn't. I'm merely saying you don't have all the facts to support that this guy is a "murderer" (your words). All we know is the manager killed the guy and he isn't being charged. Why you are so steadfast that there is more to the story suggests you know more about it. Could you point us to the source that clearly lays out all the facts to support your theory that this guy is a murderer and the DA is wrong for not charging him please? Otherwise you are talking out your ass again and arguing just to argue.

  27. When the military lets atheists decide what's sharing your faith and what's not, how are our armed forces to conduct themselves in combat?  Will you be allowed to pray in a foxhole?  How about before chow?  I'm not talking about sandpapering others into belief in God.  That wouldn't do anybody any good if he doesn't believe it from the heart.  But it's this same kind of progressive dogmatism that is trying to get you relieved of your firearms.

  28. the economics of consumable items (vs durable goods) is also different.  There is no way to meet demand if the consumption rate is greater than the production rate, for a basic example of the obvious.   That makes reselling ammo different from reselling beanie babies or the like.

  29. I will still lend stuff out but I guarantee it won't be the stuff worth $100+ I have in the past. I am probably only going to lend out stuff I have duplicates of if I don't get my stuff back. I got a PM ffrom the officer friend and he said he has been telling his brother for over a month now I want me stuff back. His brother keeps on making excuses why he can't give me my stuff back. It is just upsetting that it is gun people, who should be sticking together, who are screwing over other gun people. Seems like friendships aren't worth much to some folks if they are throwing it away over a box of ammo or a gun part.

  30. A "friend" who'd pawn/sell your property, regardless of how desperate, is not a friend.   I used to have "friends in need" too. I never heard from them until they needed something. A few polite refusals in a row and I never heard from them again.

  34. I would tell him you will go with him to his brother's house to retrieve it, and I would want to go immediately. Tell him you need it now, and you want it back. If he did pawn it, I might borrow his Kia for a couple hours. At any rate this isn't a friend, and I don't think I would want to be around someone like that.

  37. IMHO....Sig has a (colt) good reputation. I haven't fired the Ruger but the (colt) Sig's trigger is very crisp. If you take a (colt) look at the bomar sight on the Sig it was built the way it should be. I am not a fan of two-tone (colt) 1911's. I wish the features on that Sig (colt) were on the Ruger.   Hope this (colt) helps.   Lp

  40. The guy was pretty lucky that worked out well for him...could have easily gone the other way.   AT the risk of overstating the obvious, not only does it show how quickly this can go down it's also a good reminder of how essential it is that we stay aware of our surroundings; it's a lot safer to avoid a conflict like this than have to escape from it once we are in it!

  41. Occasional sales are not subject to sales tax, so yard sales and flea market sales are not taxable unless you do that on a routine basis as a business. Most yard sale items are also sold at a price significantly below the original purchase price, so no income tax issue there either. Some of the other points are valid, but I guess I am somewhat concerned by comments from several posters that imply that its not OK to inform authorities when you think laws are being violated (obviously it is not OK if you have a a professional/ethical obligation not to inform, but rather to disengage) . I understand that everyone hates to pay taxes, and much of that has to do with concerens about government waste and tax fairness, but intentional tax cheating isn't the answer. However, reporting someone as a possible tax cheat merely based on sales activity that annoys you without knowledge of their business practices or whether they are in fact failing to report income and pay taxes is probably not the best thing to do either. :2cents:

  48.   That is no shocker.  Of course they are gonna have to do those things.  If they told the truth about who they are and what they ultimately want, they would stand absolutely no chance of ever winning political office (outside of a few socialist enclaves in the US).  That 90% people support it crap Obama and his ilk have been spewing regarding increased background checks is in reality more like 10 - 20%.

  49. I shot a metric ton of cast bullets that were .005" over the bore size without issue. If the loaded round will chamber and the bullet fit into the throat the bore will size the bullet. And honestly those .005" bullets shot as well as anything I have tried. I used to shoot a ton of MBC bullets and had severe leading problems. Lining with Lee Alox fixed most of it but I still had problems with leading. Once I started shooting a softer and bigger bullet all the leading issues went away. Make sure to slug your bore. Measure for the largest size then add at least .001". I personally consider .002" the minimum in my guns when shooting my cast bullets.
