  1. Guns are in beautiful condition. Possibly have the original cardboard boxes for both. Both guns were made in the original Hamden factory. One gun is a lightweight model (brown grips), very rare. ($700) The other has black grips and is in almost new condition. ($620) Pickup in Thompsons Station, will only consider other High Standards as trade.

  3. This upper was sold to me as an unmarked BCM blem upper. Considering I don’t have the ability to prove provenance, I’m selling it priced as an unmarked mystery upper. 10.5” 5.56 MLOK upper with a BCG and a radian LT charging handle. $300 FTF in W. TN and $325 shipped to anywhere else.

  4. Took a new guy that can shoot. He used my backup gun and did well. My new rifle became problematic and almost became imbedded in the tree I wanted to wrap it around. 22 hogs in hand. We were light 7 to 10 pigs due to my rifle identifying as a paperweight. Didn't get in a knife fight with a pig this time.

  5. Ok, so this ended up being interesting enough. If you have been following this close with a keen eye for edits. You will notice the case was pictures from an ebay post, to pictures of the original as I located the original shortly after posting and updated with those pics (shoutout to @221 Fireballfor locating the case, reaching out to me, holding on to it after I forgot about it and ghosted him, and still meeting me in a rainstorm to exchange it and not taking any money, major kudos to you good sir!). The interesting thing is, the ebay case came and it is actually from a gun manufactured 62 numbers away S/N wise and has the same exact case and parts. That said, the eBay one is more complete with even the lock in the factory box. I've added those photos here and will include the ebay case and all the parts with the sale of the gun so you can make a truly perfect kit and have some spares. Pretty good for a 25ish year old gun.

  6. I think that pretty much sums it up for me. I have some nice examples of both, but tend to pick up striker far more often.

  7. Since no one else has suggested them, Olight. I have the Odin WML and the thing is stupid bright. They are having a pretty good sale right now as well. I don't have a recommendation on any of their EDC lights as I haven't tried any yet, but I have been impressed with the Odin.

  8. He’s reportedly sold out and made four point five million in the process. Good for him. Amazed at the suckers. Especially considering he was a year late to the game. He knows his base.

  10. These are the rules specific to the Trading Post. We don't have a policy about thread bumping because it's never been a problem. Let your conscience be your guide. The harder you go after it; the more likely others are to complain. And if enough people do that, we'd have to consider writing a rule around it.

  11. For sale is a Kahr MK9 9mm sub-compact, all metal, striker fired pistol. This little guy holds 6 rounds in the standard magazine. As you can see there is an assortment of mags included, (not all of which I have used and/or can vouch for, MK ones are definitely good though). I have the box and paperwork that came with the Kahr MK9, it looks like a late 90's date of manufacture). Asking $500.00 Here are the pics! Located in Franklin TN

  12. Old load was h335 with hbn2 130 ttsx. Crazy accuracy. I've killed hogs out to 400 with it. Two different barrels has zero issues with that load.

  13. I've watched his videos for awhile now. Great information. Nothing wrong with old school. As a matter of fact, old school is comforting in this crazy world. I thank God for my grandparents and parents every day.

  14. Same for me. I have one by my bed on the nightstand and the other in our motorhome. They are right beside my pistols. The LED upgrade is nice but the "club" factor is the best.

  15. An incomplete lower receiver will not be listed in the logbook as a a pistol nor a rifle. Only a complete firearm will be listed as either one of those in the logbook.

  16. I carry a 3 D cell MagLite in our camper. There are 4 or 5 other brighter or lighter flashlights scattered around the camper but every time I think I should pull it out, I put it back in, it's right by the door a very handy weapon that masquerades as a flashlight. I converted mine to LED about 10 years ago when MagLite first offered the upgrade bulb.

  18. I started using Hoppes #9 because my Dad did. Simple. I have also used some of the newer spray products, and they work well for a fast cleanup; but always come back to Hoppes. Like the gentleman said...I like the smell. However, my wife does not care for it at all. Cleaning inside the house is a definite no-no.

  19. Almost ashamed to mention these...Sealtorch2000. Sold under many names. I first encountered them in the old Lone Survivalist ads. LOL. Wonder what happened to him? Anyway, these are scattered about the house and in glove box in all vehicles. Use them for outside walks to mailbox, car, etc. Good little lights...almost a throwaway. Given them to neighbors. But to the origional question. For a much better carry flashlight, I have an older Walther TacticalPro, and an unknown age Streamlight. Both these are pocket clip/carry and use CR123 as a power source. Effective, but dated. Looked at the Streamlight 66320 recently. Seems like a good entry point for me to move up to a rechargeable pocket light. Many of these mentioned above gathered my interest as well. Will be checking them and others out. Thanks for the thread and all the advice.

  20. Well...I didn't fall asleep. But I did get drowzy! That New England accent sure is comforting, LOL! A bit slow in his speech, but yes, a very well done video on cleaning your rifle. I probably have taken short cuts in my cleaning, but this will surely help me as a great refresher course. Well worth the time this cold Saturday morning..

  23. I carry a Streamlight Micro-stream in my pocket every day. Very small and doesn't take much space. Yet bright enough for my needs. When I was working, I carried a Streamlight Stylus in my shirt pocket. Again, small but plenty bright enough.

  24. Like new, round count is 8. I’ve owned this rifle for about 25 years. TRW bolt and Springfield CSR said it was probably all GI parts. Circa 1993-1994. GI collector walnut stock. I have 2 additional new GI 20 round mags to go with it if I can lay my hands on them. The buyer will have first dibs on approximately 500 rounds of Lake City .308 head stamped 2002 & 2004 loose in a 50cal can. $2000 cash for the rifle only, no trades. PM if you need additional info. Thanks, Tom

  25. Maybe it is the heart of some ancient evil entity that long ago was sealed in a vein of salt in order to confine it and block its magical powers. Or maybe just some cannibal practicing salt curing..... Either way probably nothing to get pumped about.

  30. Comped pistols are hella finicky. A lot of them have issues with light practice loads. Remove the comp and see how it runs. If it cycles ok, then you know it’s the comp and not the pistol itself. After that, find you some +P and see how it does.

  32. I prefer the look, feel and shooting of hammer fired pistols. But new hammer guns are rare and the world is moving to striker and polymer pistols for several reasons. I enjoy shooting and buying new guns too much to stay with hammer only weapons. My favorite configuration of a da/sa, de-cocking, metal frame pistol feels like it is slowly becoming extinct.

  36. 99% of the time I carry OWB at about 3:30. Doesn't matter what gun, what size or what holster. I dress according to where I'm going and what I'm doing. I prefer leather holsters. On very rare occasions I might pocket carry something small.

  37. There has been a discussion going on lately regarding this. I was saying "once a rifle, always a rifle" which is how it has been for decades. But that is not the case anymore. It is now "first a rifle, always a rifle". Dolomite
