I've spent a lot of money at Academy Sports, but....

Recommended Posts

I just got back from Walmart in Franklin, they had no ARs on the Shelf. An employee, when I asked, told me that they had a memo come out that said that corporate desided that the sight of them in their stores was no longer family-friendly, so they were taken off the shelf and are no longer being sold there...as of now.

Not that I needed a reason to stay out of Walmart but it is office supplies for my shop.....

The sight of an AR isn't family friendly?  Neither is a restroom at Target. :squint:

I though Walmart dumped AR's over a year ago.  They were slashing prices to ridiculously low levels.

East towne and Halls Walmarts had ARs a few days before Orlando. BTW, Walmart has also discontinued the sale of "defensive/tactical", their words not mine, shotguns. They also marked down all accessories for ARs. Picked up a few $100 stocks for $50 and a few $50 grips for $15 when they had their sale on AR specific accessories.

LOL! Put em up when they'll sell, and drag em out when the rush is over. What a business model!

Here's the thing as far as I'm concerned,  they removed both of their testicles when they took ARs of the shelf, they only got one of them back when they put the ARs back out.  They will have to do something spectacular to earn the other one back.

If it makes you guys feel any better I dumped three of them on the floor while getting one off the rack the other night to show someone.

That's why I don't buy off the racks at big box stores.  I always ask to examine one still in the box.

That's the first time I've seen it happen since I've been there. I still would not want to buy a rack gun. They get handled to much and usually have marks from the rack itself

We are in total agreement on this. I have about all I think I'll reasonably need in my lifetime, but it is still disheartening to see all the PC BS that has intruded into all aspects of our lives now.

Retailers are getting pressured by public opinion polls, people supposedly representing "large numbers" of concerned citizens, and of course the thumb twisting in the board rooms by the feds. It is exasperating.

And 98% of those people polled and representing "large numbers" of people don't even shop in the stores.
