1. I think we should stop catering to the "newspeak" of the gun grabbing left. What do I mean by "newspeak":   High capacity "clip"= Full capacity magazine   Assault Weapons= Common household semi-automatic firearms.   Gun show loophole=Ability to sell personal property and help another law abiding citizen exercise their 2nd amendment rights without govt. intrusion w/fees and taxes. You mean the ability to give my son my 30-30 winchester that my grandfather gave me without filling out a 4473, paying taxes and inviting the govt. into my living room.   Registered guns= Unless you have an NFA 34 item we do not have a national registry in this country YET. I hate it when I hear: "Hey the gun is "registered" in my name!   Automatic Weapons= Again, common household semi-automatic firearms.   Rednecks building arsenals in their basement=You mean law abiding citizens investing in hard commodities that: Appreciate in value, keep forever, have a story to tell(dads hunting rifle), may save a life, can put food on the table, is a tradable commodity.   Gun Control=Victim Disarmament.   Your a "gun nut"= No I am a pro bill of rights freedom nut.   Common sense gun control=What part of "Shall not be infringed" are we not clear on here?   These are a start. We must turn this thing around.

 4. Using the "even if it only saves one child" argument is very poor thinking indeed. I am not taking away the value of human life here, but is one child's (or adult's) life really worth the Republic we live in? We could ban cars 100% and save probably a thousandfold of lives per day, but we don't. Lets ban swimming pools, even if it only saves one child's life, it is worth it. Lets ban electricity, even if it saves only one child's life, it is worth it. Lets ban candy, even if it saves only one child's life, it is worth it.    "One child's life" gives some people a fuzzy feeling inside, so they eat it up. They bask in the warm, fuzzy feeling they create and throw logical thinking out the door.    Banning certain types of firearms may save a single child's life, but must you ignore the multitude of innocent people who died because they couldn't defend themselves legally with the types of firearms you just banned?

 14. Its easy to see where he is coming from.  As a communist, he is unable to comprehend the idea of "massive profits".  As a pro-police state type, it makes no sense to sell guns that will be illegal soon.   It all adds up:  since profits and guns are both soon to be pointless in the america of the future, hopefully as soon as next week, the logical thing to do is to stop the madness voluntarily rather than wait for the swat team to shut you down.   Makes perfect sense, once you stick your head in a microwave for 1/2 an hour.

 15. True or not, I don't give a flying you-know-what. Our right is recognized by the constitution, and executive orders aren't a trump card. Yep, a lot of people have paid more than they might have otherwise - hey, elections have consequences. Way I see it, though, there are hundreds of thousands of new owners with skin in the game. The scalpers that bought for resale can take it in the wallet, for all I care, but the newbies now have a vested interest in safeguarding our rights.

 16.   That's pretty much my policy too. My bucks are pretty much apolitical.   Wally can belong to Bloomberg's bunch or donate to Planned Parenthood, whatever. Sort of a "what they say" as opposed to "what they do" -- includes politicians, too.   I'll "vote" for firearms freedom by buying guns and ammo from Wally, and the cheaper the better. As long as firearm companies are willing to sell to them, I'm willing to buy from them.   And yep, I'll still buy something from CTD if it's far and away the best price. I believe free capitalism promotes more freedom than most any other ism.   - OS

 19. I think you are confusing using common sense and exercising good judgement with "sitting on your butts". I would love to go but work will not allow me to take off. As some have said on here they will be going but at the first sign of a group of "Rambo's" showing up they will be outta there. If you think for one minute that there is a lack of genuine concern for this country and our 2A rights on TGO then I am afraid you are mistaken. Many things could go wrong with this and it also might go without a hitch. The fact stands that there are idiots with guns out there and a lot of them may be in attendance. Don't judge everyone here on the mere fact that they choose not to participate.

We see an average of 60-75 new registrations a day right now because of the political climate and the fact that a lot of people are waking up and realizing that something important is at risk of being lost if folks don't get involved. Your introductory post is one of a handful that maybe got missed by the dozen or so folks who actually make it their mission to welcome new members to this community. You'll have to pardon them for not seeing that you had finally arrived and heralding it with trumpets and confetti. Welcome to TGO. Don't be high maintenance.

 21. History is ripe with all sorts of conspiracy's, false-flag operations & manufactured crisis, whether or not Sandyhook is yet another example of one of these is way above & beyond my paygrade. The motivating factors behind the vast majority of these sorts of things is almost always CONTROL, POWER &/or MONEY. For the folks who don't think hundreds or even thousands of people can keep a secret? Well you would be very mistaken, again all you have to do is open a history book or two, plenty of examples of massive "secret" plans/projects/conspiracy's, etc, involving thousands, even tens of thousands of people who some how were either ideologically driven, economically driven or fearfully driven to keep their mouths shut. Was Sandyhook was a real event or a staged one? I personally believe that it really happened, but I suppose it is possible that it could have been staged. If you believe that it would be impossible for our government to even consider, let alone do such a thing, you might want to educate yourself on just how dirty our government is willing to get its hands if they believe that the ends justify the means. Do yourself a favor by researching the now declassified "Operation Northwoods", which was drafted way back in 1962 & authorized by the Joint Chiefs of Staff. It is a serious eye opener to anyone & everyone who likes to "tin-foil hats!" the very possibility of members of our own government being involved in something like what happened at Sandyhook.

 22. I've been thinking about all of the possibilities of what could happen, what might happen, what should be the outcome, etc. I've come to the conclusion that the media is the problem and the enemy. The media needs to be cleansed. They are corrupt, inept, incompetent, have an agenda, and are merely the extension of the liberal Democrat party. They are where 0bama, Dems and whining liberals get their power. Imagine the past 30 years with an unbiased media who actually reported the news objectively rather than creating "news" or covering up the truth. The so-called "media" is absolutely FULL of lies. The lies MUST STOP! The media must be cleaned up, perhaps by force if necessary. They are the crux of the problem in my estimation. They constantly lie and are not held accountable. They are given a pass. Their falsifications MUST be exposed and stopped. They are what have enabled 0bama and those like him. They are give him power. The power that they derive from their offices is very weak compared to the power that a lapdog media gives them. This is where the battle is in my opinion. Food for thought.

You just never expect it to be a two year old blind girl that has never had any human contact. I have a lot of people ask me why. They wouldn't have to ask if they saw that same little girl smile from ear to ear when I touch her face with my beard and whisper " daddy's home"

 29.   100%   I once had someone tell me that laws must have been recently passed requiring ammo to be registered. Their logic in this was an article they read on the internet mentioning "unregistered ammo". The same goes for "unregistered guns". Lots of "good old Americans" in my family believe 100% that guns are legally supposed to be registered to whomever owns them.    Unregistered Firearm Unregistered Ammo Unreported Sales Terms like these are being used to program minds into believing that things should be a certain way. Then, someday down the road when legislation comes up requiring those things, a very large percentage of people will think to themselves "But I thought that was already required! If it isn't, it should be! Sure I'll support this!".

 31. Leaf springs might be hard to work, but make some good knives. I'm fixing to make some leaf spring machetes! If you go to the flea markets there are almost always files for about $1. Awesome starter material. Also look for old saws. Some of the band saws still make good knives though they may be a bit thin for certain blade styles. You can find it cheap/free and it's easy to shape/practice profiling, creating your gradual tapers for a cutting edge, handle attachment. I've hadrequests for wittling knives and filet knives with this stuff.

 35. I really believe the Obamatrons got a wake up call when they started talks of bans and registrations etc., then witnessing all the "newbies" and oldies completly drain most the products of an entire industry in just a month, and I bet alot more pro-freedom minded people like us are making a big serious stance of resistance in telling their Reps what they think, more then we realize. I think "they" are realizing that the gun-control they wish for is going to cost them a crap load of problems they don't want.   That and James Yeager scared the hell out of them.  :)

 37.   So basically, you believe that this is a vast government conspiracy that involved the murder of innocent children and the organization of hundreds of people, but they were too stupid to pay attention to minor details like that and put up web pages before it happened?  If that's what you want to believe, then have at it, but I wonder if any amount of evidence proving that scenario wrong would ever dissuade you from what you want to believe is true.   All that we have here is a crazy guy who killed his mother and other innocent people using a firearm that millions of Americans own and just happens to be one that the left uses as the ultimate symbol of their anti-gun views.  After the event, the media, which is notorious for misinformation and an excessive desire for dramatic and atypical crimes to report on (hence the old saying "if it bleeds, it leads"), and they did exactly what the media does in today's infotainment-telesector: They reported any and all information they could without fact-checking or confirming it, they presented rumor as fact, and filled any gaps with speculation and sensationalized commentary.  Because the crime was committed with a gun, gun control advocates saw it as a tragic event that would be useful for furthering their agenda.  They played on people's emotions, presented even more speculation and commentary as fact, and people ignorant of the issue joined people sympathetic with the issue to demand more gun control.  Politicians who already had sympathies for gun control were more than happy to oblige.  That's all that happened.  No grand conspiracy, no "crisis actors", no NWO.  What we can learn from this is exactly what I've laid out.  Politicians and political activists are more than happy to take advantage of a tragedy to push their agenda, and our media is too unprofessional and irresponsible to provide accurate and unbiased news.  This is not a new trend, but was identified decades ago.  There is a whole theoretical perspective that talks about it called "moral panic".

 38. I remain neutral on this.  I choose not to believe that this is a conspiracy.  I just can't do it.  There is simply not enough hard core evidence that suggests this was all a hoax.  I admit that the Facebook pages going up a few days before the shooting is something that is very alarming, but who is to say that this is not fabricated as well? Emily Parker's father laughing and cutting up just before the interview isn't normal to me, but I am not a shrink either.  I can't imagine how I would cope with the loss of my child.  People deal with things in different ways.     What I do know is this.  The Liberals in government are definitely using this to enact sweeping gun controls and potential bans.  They are also wanting to create a "national database" (registration).  We all know what this means.  This event is now behind us and we have to deal with the repercussions.  Whether you believe this shooting happened or not, the rest of America believes it.  We have to fight the machine that has now mobilized against the 2nd Amendment and the rest of our Constitution.  The fight is here regardless of what you believe.  I am going to meet it head-on and everyone else needs to do the same if we are to keep what we cherish the most......FREEDOM.  Keep your eye on the ball.  Tyrants like distractions.
I don't think its gonna matter how polite we try to be there still going to try to get our firearms.   http://cnsnews.com/blog/charlie-daniels/precedent-teaches-us-left-really-wants-all-our-guns
We are losing the fight in regards to public perception because gun owners like this are playing checkers while the gun grabbers are playing chess. Little stunts like this, and the gun owners that support it, show how short sighted the gun owning community is. This is why we are losing.

 42. While I didn't think the video he released was a good idea...  I suspect he'll get his permit back in short order...  I think he's going to have a very good claim that the speech in the video is protected by the first amendment, and as such it's a violation of his first amendment rights to use that speech as a reason to revoke his permit.   And whoever the idiot bureaucrat was at TDOS that approved this needs to be in the unemployment line before the EOB today.    And again we should be calling our legislators and demanding they remove TDOS ability to revoke permits without a criminal arrest/conviction...  We don't need a bureaucrat with this type of power.
