Your friend needs to file a complaint with the Police department. They were 100% wrong about the round in the chamber. And I have never heard of a police officer running a s/n without probable cause. Where and when did this happen and what police department?3 points

I'm sure they make small talk, just like most talk shows during a break. Probably goes something like this: Ted: "So, Peirs, I hear you have a vagina where most men have a penis."3 points

--There are some sick bastards supporting him on twitter And I want it 100% clear that I do not support him, he lost all that by killing. I just wonder.... what happened here, really.2 points

Bullet holes in the windshield right at the driver, and especially the ones in the back of the truck... I hope those cops get fired and put in jail, and the police department goes bankrupt from lawsuits. I'm all for supporting the police in almost every manner, but bullet holes in the back of a truck? He obviously wasn't trying to get out or run them over.. And hope they get exactly what a civilian would get if they were randomly shooting people that posed no threat.2 points

I guess vehicle manufacturers had better take note. If someone kills someone else intentionally with a Chevy, 0bama Motors might get sued.2 points

Having lived most of my life in Fl, I think they are using this as justification to go fishing for much bigger things. Stop someone, find faulty equipment, license, etc. Then it is game on, Any guns?,any drugs?, mind if I look in your trunk?2 points

I don't think this would ever survive all the court challenges it would face. I still believe the ultimate goal of the libs right now is the universal background checks, hence, hidden gun registry. All these ridiculous proposals are meant as smoke screens to make the background checks look like the lesser of the evils.2 points

Does this mean I can sue Revere Ware for making the forks that made me fat?2 points

For hundreds of years we have had weapons, now all of a sudden, some politician gets their panties in a wad and wants to tax me under the guise of calling it 'insurance' (where have I heard this before) because why? Have guns become so much more violent in the last 7 weeks? Is insurance magical? Will it prevent criminals from committing crimes because they will fear their premiums will go up? If the government thugs make everyone get liability insurance I promise you, every family member of every little punk killed in the commission of a crime will find some way to work the system and sue the victim.2 points

I hope they get him before he kills anymore anybody. It would really be awesome if an armed citizen were to stop him. In regards to his manifesto, who needs an iPod? Who needs an iPhone? Who needs steak? Bologna is good enough. Who needs toilet paper? There are leaves. Who "needs" oxygen? The list of stupidity goes on.2 points

So my wife and I decided to do a little metal detecting. We were in an area that probably hasn't had a lot of people shooting in it for a very long time. During out adventures I got a blip about something small about 6" down. As she dug she found an unfired 22 that was at least 4" in the soil. It was pretty well packed soil so the round had been buried for quite some time. It was on the side of a hill that I frequented as a kid, some 35 years ago. Not saying the round was 35 years old but it was under 4+ inches of soil so it wasn't placed there yesterday. Here is the picture as found: I was able to determine it was a Federal. I have no clue why the tip was like that though. The lead did have white corrosion. So the next thing that pops into my head is I wonder if it will fire? I grab my Taurus PT22 because I could care less if the bore gets scratched. I chamber it, which was hard becuse of the dirt and corrosion, and I pull the trigger. BANG!!! Although it didn't extract it did in fact go off which I do find this pretty amazing. Dolomite2 points

You could have sold that round for at least five bucks in the walmart parking lot. :rofl:2 points

You should send your testimonial to Federal with a pitch for an ad campaign. Maybe they'll send you some free stuff.2 points

This ^^^^^ I placed multiple orders for .223/5.56 with them at around 10:15pm on Nov. 6th (if that tells you anything), and I have now received every one of them, two just last week (FedEx - left on doorstep - no signature required). They will fulfill backorders by date, not newer orders. They are very reputable and their customer service is excellent.2 points

4th Amendment. I don't suppose I'd decline an officer if he asked to run my numbers, but doing it without consent while at the same time not having PC to think it's stolen doesn't pass the sniff test. That would be like a cop seeing me on a cell phone and demanding I hand it over so he can run the IMEI number to determine if it is stolen. Total BS.2 points

Yeah, but regular folks get a by for being ignorant. Someone who is enforcing the law needs to know better. I would have corrected those officers if they said such a thing. I can only imagine they would disagree with me and be forced to take me to jail when I re chamber a round. I'm not sure what my recourse would be for being arrested for breaking a law that doesn't exist, but I'm not going to be dictated the law from someone who doesn't even know it.2 points

Ok, I'm sure most of you here have already heard of or read AUD, but I hadn't until a week or so ago when I posted about "Ruth's Story." The Adrian Ring story caught me up in it pretty quickly and held on tightly. I just finished it this morning. Got into the last three months of enteries about 10 last night. And though I should have gone to bed, I stayed up and finished them all. It was worth the loss of sleep. I really liked thestoryline, and the premise of the creation of the zombie was well done. At least in my opinion. Makes more sense to me than the virus theory. But that's just my take on it Ok, won't spoil it for anyone else and discuss the story too much. I'll just say I like it very much and let anyone interested go at it for themselves.1 point

I don't consent to anything more than I am legally and morally obligated to. I have great respect for local law enforcement and will assist them if I have knowledge that will help them solve a real crime. I will not assist an officer in a fishing expedition. The officer can either have PC that he can defend in front of a judge (because he will have to) or he can fuck off and go do his job and let me get on with my day.1 point

Well PTSD isn't specific to combat. Anyone who has suffered a traumatic event could suffer from it; some examples being a near death experience, violent assault, rape or or encounter with Bronies. With that come different levels and symptoms. I think some of the stuff that was seen in WWI was probably the most severe and common. Folks living under constant bombardment, all day everyday, with death being more of a certainty than surviving. That kinda psychological mind screw would drive anyone crazy over enough time. Nowadays we don't see sustained combat which last weeks at a time with astronomical casualties, and death is more of a possibility than a certainty. Still, seeing some of the awful things one sees in war, and having to do some pretty awful things to other humans can be an emotional event; especially through the eyes of an 18 year old. I think it would be abnormal for something like that NOT to affect a young person. But the manner in which most folks who get their understanding of war and its effects in drive-by fashion, such as on the news or in a movie should take into account that there may be more to it than a black and white situation, such as "that guy has PTSD so he sees dead people and has nightmares". That's where Ron Paul gathered his info for his ignorant statement, but making light of it with his comment is so disrespectful on so many levels. Kyle was trying to do something good and was killed. There is no excuse for attacking him. He should be honored and remembered as a patriot, not disrespected.1 point

I continue to ride and am always keeping an eye out for those trying to kill me. "I'm glad your phone call is more important than my life a**hole!" Our speed limits are dumbed down to accommodate the lowest common denominator. The Autobahn has a similar fatality rate as US interstates, the catch is if you crash you are likely to die, over there you drive and only drive, Europeans don't understand why American cars have cup holders. Unlike gun ownership operating a car is a privilege not a right. In a heartbeat I would support legislation to make driving tests rigorous but up or do away with speed limits. It takes me about 3 hours to drive to my parent's place. If there were no speed limits I could make it in an hour and a half, safely. Speed limits, you are wasting time thanks to stupid people.1 point

[quote name="herr.baer" post="906435" timestamp="1360243687"]The problem with that here in Maryland is that the D's out weight the R's. The entitlement crowd keeps voting these jokers back into office so they can get their "FREE" stuff. The problem is they don't know the FREE stuff can only last so long. I wonder who the D's will blame when that time gets here1 point

I voted for Paul in the primary although there are many policies I don't agree with, but that is true of any candidate. So there is a degree of support for Paul in terms of his ideals. However, his comments being separate from that show an insensitive, disrespectful and vindictive personality trait. It is clear what his intentions were with that comment. If there is any doubt, that last line should remove such doubt; where he says that it doesn't make sense to treat PTSD on the range. Pretty much saying the guy is a dummy while somehow connecting his service record in Iraq and Afghanistan to his demise (re: "live by the sword, die by the sword"). It isn't the fault of our servicemen where they are sent or the missions they are expected to conduct. That is up to our leadership in Washington. His comments make it clear that he is projecting his disdain for those in Washington responsible for perpetrating the war onto my fellow veterans who have ZERO control over where they are sent or what they are tasked to do. For these reasons I hope that Ron Paul slips and falls into a feces filled toilet and drowns on excrement, so that his corpse may be one with what Ron Paul's memory will be. A pile of human sh**.1 point

Does not sound like enough information to make a call here on who was right or wrong. Sounds like all we can say is; 1) the officers need training on the round in chamber issue if that's what they said 2) your friend needs training on the drawbacks of open carry,if that's what he was doing 3) your friend needs training on how to carry concealed if that's what he was doing1 point

Back in 2008 I thought that Hillary would have been worse on us than Barry, but now I'm not so sure. Gun control issues aside, Obama has been on a crusade to sink US business since he took office. I don't believe Hillary would have been this bad.1 point

If this kid got suspended for that, I would have been a certified looney. I can remember watching Commando on the old VHS, wearing my laser tag vest and strapping on every toy uzi, squirt gun, plastic grenade and rubber survival knife I had. I was so loaded to the teeth I couldn't move! We'd organize like 30 kids in the neighborhood (girls included) and play war with POW camps and everything. Our parents were just happy we were outside for petes sake!1 point

The ones that should not have firearms WILL ALWAYS GET THEM. There is nothing that can be done about it. Now put those that commit firearm crime in jail and KEEP them there for a VERY LONG TIME is a fix I could live with. There are laws on the books that are not enforced, and we need to make the Government do so. The ones with mental problems that commit crime will eather commit Darwin gene cleaning. When the bad guys see you go to jail and not ever get out, that part will fall off fast. The other will never fix it self in our life time, it will take millions of years of gene cleaning to fix.1 point

Agreed. But it's a totally different conversation...even though it sounds the same. You could have a conversation with liberals about the sky being blue. And then you could have a conversation with anyone else about the sky being blue. Same subject...but not really... You and I advocate responsibility in one's actions. When libs say that they are sponsoring legislation to ensure responsibility in one's actions, it translates to something else entirely altogether. Ronald Reagan - ""The nine most terrifying words in the English language are: 'I'm from the government and I'm here to help.'" Poll Taker: Q. What do cows drink? Liberal: A. Milk Normal Person: A. Almost none of them have been law for more than 30 years, which is how long it took to challenge the first handgun ban :) Also, virtually any case law will be pre-McDonald so it was a challenge against the state constitution not in federal court. For example here in TN, a state law requiring the state to perform a background check is clearly unconstitutional because our state constitution only allows the legislature to regulate the wearing of firearms, not the purchasing of firearms. Many states don't have this restriction in their constitution. Either way, we're at the start of the gun civil rights movement, just in the last 5 years we've had more positive case law than in the last 70 or 80 before that... It's going to take us a generation to peel back all the bad laws that have been passed, if the republic stands that long.1 point

Truthfully, it's about 4 years too late. Ruger and Keltec have filled so many pockets and purses with products there isn't to many left wanting to buy. I think Kahr could have racked in he money with cm380's/9/40/45 a lot earlier. Instead they have some expensive models that 95% of gun buyers care nothing about, a TP45 for example.1 point
