  1. I have supported them all along but this will make some feel better.... Posted on Facebook roughly 30mins ago   "REGARDING LEO SALES March 1st, 2013 Back in 1990, when I was deployed in Desert Shield and Desert Storm as a Marine grunt, some companies prioritized me items for my M16 for shipping that I purchased with my own funds. After getting out and forming Magpul in 1999, I established the same priority policy for Military and Law Enforcement, due to the requirements of their profession. The same policy has been in place for 13 years now and has never been an issue until a few days ago. I do not support the idea that individual police officers should be punished for the actions of their elected officials. That said, I understand the concerns that some have with Law Enforcement officers getting special treatment while at the same time denouncing second amendment rights to another citizen in the same state.  With the fight in Colorado right now we do not have time to implement a new program, so I have suspended all LE sales to ban states until we can implement a system wherein any Law Enforcement Officer buying for duty use will have to promise to uphold their oath to the US Constitution - specifically the second and fourteenth amendments - as it applies to all citizens. 2. Hey guys, I searched around for a while and did not see many pics out there of a cerakoted PM9 so I thought I would throw up a pic of my "New" Kahr. I have carried this puppy for several years and the stainless was starting to show some wear and decided to change colors a bit. I found Jack over at Old Hickory Gunsmithing and asked him to cerakote my Kahr. He did an awesome job and this looks just as good as any factory finish I have seen. I REALLY like the new look and it definitely toned down the shine of the stainless slide.

  3. I copied this from another forum. Hey Choir, more ammo: ... in Chicago, Illinois. Hmmmm.... why do you suppose we never hear about this on the evening news??? 446 school age children shot in Chicago in 2012 The city with the strongest gun laws in country – media silent!. The cesspool known as Chicago probably has the toughest gun laws in the country, yet despite all the shootings, murders, and bloodshed, you never hear a peep about this from the corrupt state run media. In Chicago, there have been 446 school age children shot in the leftist utopia run by Rahm Emanuel and that produced Obama, Jesse Jackson, Louis Farrakhan, etc. 62 school aged children have actually been killed by crazed nuts in Chicago since the end of 2012. So, why isn’t this news worthy? Is it because it would embarrass those anti second amendment nuts who brag about Chicago ’s tough gun laws? Is it because most of the kids who were shot and killed were minorities? Or is it because the corrupt media doesn’t want to show Chicago in a bad light? Amazingly, no Obama crocodile tears either. For those of you have not gotten the point of this post yet, it’s to make the point about gun laws. No matter how tough the gun laws are, the crazed, nut jobs will find a way to get them and if they so chose, use them. No draconian law can stop this, no matter how well intentioned the law is, or if it’s just about leftists grabbing power from citizens and taking away their constitutional rights. 446 School Age Children Shot in Chicago so Far This Year THE LIST OF SCHOOL AGE CHILDREN SHOT IN 2012 by age: • 18 year old- 110 • 17 year old- 99 • 16 year old- 89 • 15 year old- 62 • 14 year old- 39 • 13 year old- 21 • 12 year old- 10 • 11 year old- 2 • 10 year old- 3 • 9 year old- 1 • 7 year old- 3 • 6 year old- 2 • 5 year old- 1 • 4 year old- 1 • 3 year old- 1 • 1 year old- 2 Wow, is Illinois and Chicago great or what? Perhaps the U.S. should pull out of Chicago? Body count: In the last six months 292 killed (murdered) in Chicago. (Meanwhile, handguns are banned) No concealed carry in Illinois There were 221 killed in Afghanistan, fewer than were killed in Chicago AND Chicago has the strictest gun laws in the entire US. Here’s the Political Cast of Characters from Chicago: President : Barack Hussein Obama Senator: Dick Durbin House Representative: Jesse Jackson Jr. (recently resigned) Governor: Pat Quinn House leader: Mike Madigan Atty. Gen.: Lisa Madigan (daughter of Mike) Mayor: Rahm Emanuel The leadership in Illinois - all Democrats. Thank you for the combat zone in Chicago . Of course, they're all blaming each other. Can't blame Republicans; there aren't any! Chicago school system rated one of the worst in the country. Can't blame Republicans; there aren't any! State pension fund $78 Billion in debt, worst in country. Can't blame Republicans; there aren't any! Cook County (Chicago) sales tax 10.25% highest in country. Can't blame Republicans; there aren't any! This is the political culture that Obama comes from in Illinois. And he is going to 'fix' Washington politics for us??? George Ryan is no longer Governor, he is in the big house (Prison). Of course, he was replaced by Rob Blajegovitch who is...that's right, also in the big house. And Representative Jesse Jackson Jr. resigned a couple of weeks ago. That is because he is fighting being sent to...that's right, the big house.

  4.   You don't think HCP holding teachers and staff being able to keep their loaded heaters in the car on school grounds is significant? And HCP holding college students?   Previous felony changed to legal behavior seems significant to me.   - OS

  6. There is no duty to notify. If he has “a few” years on the job, he shouldn’t really need to go check that.   Having been a Police Officer I will notify. I will do it because I respect them, I want a safe stop for everyone involved, I want them on our side, and the pavement around here gets scalding hot during the summer months.

  7. Cool, I didn't want to come of as an arse.   Computers aren't fun. I miss the old days of tuning your jets from pulling your plugs, not hooking up a computer and monitoring your A/F. I agree that it is harder to be a shadetree mechanic these days, but I doubt it is going away. Even with all the computers, we are finding ways to hack and tune. When I first got into imports I was very intimidated by all the wiring, the sensors and so forth. After a few years, you just learn to adapt.   A lot of guys are just going to aftermarket standalone ECUs that can read the stock sensor, then be modified. It is fascinating. The big difference today though, once you start hacking, your reliability is gone. When you were just swapping jets and twisting a distributor to adjust timing it was easy. Now you have to pull half the engine apart and run adjustable cam gears and modify your mechanical timing for advance or retard. Sure, coil packs are nice, but man, I long for the good old days.

  8. Firearm unloaded, work action(again NO ROUND IN THE CHAMBER) safety off( NO ROUND IN THE CHAMBER) Pull the triger, now load the mag, the action will function and you do not have to work that button. And the sound of racking the action is a good or bad sound, depends on what side of the barrel you are on. All my pump shottys are set this way.

  9. So does that mean my PhD in criminology is useless, I lack honesty and objectivity, and any research I produce is only for the purpose of convincing people to buy into the liberal agenda?  I guess I'll stop fooling with the research I am currently working on that examines the role of media rhetoric in shaping flawed gun policies.  Too bad I didn't realize how liberal and "owned" I am before I started on it.  I guess someone needs to call John Lott and Gary Kleck and let them know that they are really liberal hacks too. Sounds to me like you are just as biased and incapable of objective thought as the authors of that study.

It's all our job to help control this. I wouldn't plant kudzu or alanthis, or multi floral rose or japanese privet, and I wouldn't plant bamboo.

  18. The mag and gun manufacturers don't have a say where or who the distributors sell, but the do have a say over what state they make their goods in.  If Magpul take on the expense and moves to a more gun friendly state, then that is a major show of support to the 2nd amendment in my eyes and a blow to the state they leave from in jobs and taxes.  I just wish ALL of the manufacturers would do this, but I bet you only see a small number do this.  Those are the ones we need to support in my opinion.

  22.  An airplane was about to crash; there were 5 passengers on board, but only 4 parachutes. The first passenger, Holly Madison said,  "I have my own reality show and I am the smartest and prettiest woman at Playboy, so Americans don't want me to die."   She took the first pack and jumped out of the plane.   The second passenger, John McCain, said, "I'm a Senator, and a decorated war hero from an elite Navy unit from the United States of America ."   So he grabbed the second pack and jumped.   The third passenger, Barack Obama said, "I am the President of the United States and I am the smartest ever in the history of our country, some even call me the 'Anointed one.'"   So he grabbed the pack next to him and jumped out.   The fourth passenger, Billy Graham said to the fifth passenger, a 10-year-old schoolgirl, "I have lived a full life and served my God the best I could. I will sacrifice my life and let you have the last parachute."   The little girl said, "That's okay, Mr. Graham;  there's a parachute left for you.  America's smartest President took my schoolbag."

  29. I understand completely. that's what i was taking about at the end of the post. II'm not really talking about shootouts nor about making our streets a war zone, but rather non compliance en-mass. 30 million gun owners that says nope...not gonna do it. What would they do then?

  30. I have a some-what long LOP so it fits me really well, however I do admit that it was kind of awkward when I was wearing PASGT armor, but it hasn't been an issue since switching over to a Weesatch plate carrier years ago. But yea now that I think about it, that could be an issue for smaller statured folks since they are "full sized" & not adjustable, at least that is how they came when I first bought mine, not sure if Speedfeed makes a youth sized or an adjustable version or not..

  31.   Well.....I'd like to think we all would. I'd like to think that the fact so many of our military, all volunteers now consisting of many members here, are currently or have put their lives on the line in foreign countries to protect our freedoms.  Many have died in defense of these very freedoms the Left, which includes those that vote for a living,  wants to take from us. If we can send our young sons and daughters to fight for our freedoms (mine just got back from deployment) then we should be willing to not comply with their laws IN MASS and suffer the consequences if the non-compliance fails.  I do realize it's easy to sit here and say that....quite another matter when your door is beat down by swat teams to take your guns.  I hope we can win without this, but New York, I think, is going to be the first test.

  32. I like my speed feed stock too. But its really too long. Wish Magpul would hurry up and get their 590 stock out...
    1 point
  33. I love 590's but I hate side saddle shell carriers, if you have a bit of cash the Speedfeed stocks are well worth the coin IMHO, they keep the shells tucked out of the way, no snag potential, no slippage/loss of spare shells. Like with any unfamiliar system you will need to practice to get fast with it though, I usually keep my 590A1 loaded with 00 but I keep my Speedfeed stock loaded with slugs, that way I can slank in a slug anytime I might need to reach out without fumbling around in a pocket or bandaleer or belt shell carrier, etc. The Speedfeed stock does like shells with a nice deep ridge at the crimp though, so keep that in mind when selecting shells to use in it.

  34. :shake:   They also instituted a hook up for CO residents that will trump all those.  They want to leave as many mags in CO hands as possible.  They have not raised their prices on anyone.  You can still get their mags as cheap as you always could.  They're going as far as moving their entire operation to a free state.  Has anyone else done that?  I would save my angst for those companies that are busy raking you over the coals.   SGAmmo - $35 for a brick of friggin' .22? CTD - enough said etc, etc, etc.   Instead you have people, even on this forum, that said they would continue to support the price gougers if it means they can save a couple dollars later on.  You have people on this forum that are raping their fellow Tennesseans and gun owners on guns, magazines, and ammunition.  If you want to aim your outrage at anyone, they should be target #1.

  35. The amendment that Sen. Beavers put on the bill reduced the fiscal note to the extent it would not require the bill to go to Finance.   Kelsey's comment that this was not about 2nd Amendment issues, (he said if it were, the NRA would have been "up here"). As it was not an NRA written bill, I would not expect to see them, in fact, I have not seen the NRA present at the legislature a time this year, for any reason, but I digress.   Kelsey is correct, the treatment of the sponsor has nothing to do with the 2nd Amendment, it has to do with bowing to the Behemoth Federal Government, worship of the Gods of Legal by a group of lawyers.  Kelsey, Overby, Finney and Stephens are all lawyers, not statesmen.

  40. Publish the telephone number or the web site for the background check, let any person avail themselves of the use of it, (pay their $10.00 via credit card) and there is no reason to not do a back ground check. Just make sure it runs the background on the person, and not the weapon.   Potential purchaser could run a check on the seller if he wanted to, would go a long way to making sure the seller was not a felon as well.   Attach the report to the sales receipt for those instances where the seller and the buyer were not well acquainted (I never sell one without a sales receipt, requiring a DL, and keep that on file as well).

  41. I have a SHTF stock pile that I started long before the madness, I will not get into it just for range time. That allows me the luxury of being able to shoot what I find now, with the exception of .22lr. I have several thousand rounds but not knowing when I could replace them I am reluctant to send them down the pipe without something in exchange, i.e. a squirrel, or something else for the cookfire.   On a side note, My FIL asked me tonight if I knew where to get some .22, I just chuckled. He told me he finished last box last week. I told him I had not seen any in a few weeks just to keep trying online and checking the stores. Then it happened, he asked if I still had some. I said I had a few, I had searched and found some online about a month ago. he asked if he could have some of mine so he could target shoot some more. He is a die hard democrat and I could not help but laugh as I told him, "that is a democrat for you, you spent al of yours so now you want some of what I have worked for and saved." I asked him how he voted last year, and he grinned and said "you know how I voted" so I told him "you reap what you sow." I also declined to "share the wealth". Does that make me an ass hole?

  42. I have never been asked, nor do I believe anyone has noticed, but if I were asked I would hope I would just be honest with them and tell them "it is my handgun and I'm legal to carry it on my person and I am in an establishment that allows for me to carry" I believe if I were to tell them NOYB or F'off then it paints a poor picture of the law abiding, 2nd amendment believing individual that I believe myself to be.
    1 point
  43.   Well, it even kicks in your car if you're carrying illegally. Of course, if you actually use your heater in justified self defense or defense of another, you're not charged with any of weapons violations in whole section.   So the legislature must be saying, if you carry unlawfully, find a bad guy and off him?   - OS

  45. And in some places, I know knoxville does, limits the amount they buy back. In our area when they announced they would buy back excess so a lot of solar businesses cropped up. And because KUB is only paying so much per year those businesses used up all the funs and cut out the homeowner. I was going to setup solar with the only intention of offsetting my bill but they said all the money allocated buying back energy is already called for.   I guess if you set it up to use solar as the primary and grid powder when you need it might be fine.   Dolomite
