  2. Great shoot, weather was awesome. I actually remembered to take videos. I got a little bit of everything from my squad, the best we got was from King. What a run he had, he really burned it up! I'll post more video's later but you have to see King do it in style! Thanks again Robert for hosting another great match at Gallatin Gun Club! And thanks to the S.O.'s for keeping us honest... Yes I mean you HOGNUT!   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l32AEQIDpsg&feature=youtu.be

  7. Folks, to make it clear, this vid is by Mark Dice, a conservative if not bordering on looney right wing author and pundit who has done a number of "petitions", like this one, or to repeal the 1st Amendment, etc, just to point out folks' idiocy. He even got any number to folks to sign a "I Am a Moron" petition once, just to show that some folks will sign anything without even understanding it.   http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_Dice   http://markdice.com/   http://www.youtube.com/user/MarkDice   - OS

  11. Saw this on Facebook. Pretty awesome.     Two illegal aliens, Ralphel Resindez, 23, and Enrico Garza, 26, probably believed they would easily overpower home-alone 11-year-old Patricia Harrington after her father had left their two-story home. It seems the two crooks never learned two things: they were in Montana and Patricia had been a clay-shooting champion since she was nine.Patricia was in her upstairs room when the two men broke through the front door of the house. She quickly ran to her father's room and grabbed his 12-gauge Mossberg 500 shotgun. Resindez was the first to get up to the second floor only to be the first to catch a near point blank blast of buckshot from the 11-year-old's knee-crouch aim. He suffered fatal wounds to his abdomen and genitals. When Garza ran to the foot of the stairs, he took a blast to the left shoulder and staggered out into the ...street... where he bled to death before medical help could arrive. It was found out later that Resindez was armed with a stolen 45-caliber handgun he took from another home invasion robbery. That victim, 50-year-old David 0'Burien, was not so lucky. He died from stab wounds to the chest.Ever wonder why good stuff never makes NBC, CBS, PBS, MSNBC, CNN, or ABC news........?

  14.   This is a huge part of the ammo problem. The gun show sellers, the Gunbroker sellers that jack the prices up AND the people that pay the ridicules prices. People sell on here for the same prices sometimes too, I've noticed. The sellers don't care about what damage they do. I'd bet a lot of them don't even shoot. They've just found an item and a group of weak people they can make a bunch of money off of.  Justified by the old "if I don't do it somebody else will" attitude, they are out for themselves with no regard for future damage they may do to prices. You can call them capitalists or whatever, but I and my shooting friends have other names we use.  Buying from retailers, and then jacking the prices 2 or 3 times is just wrong....it breaks the normal chain of supply to the end user. But, it's the freak'n buyers I can't figure out. If they would just stop buying from the jerks, be patient and keep an eye out you can find ammo at normal prices and end the price gouging.  Nothing I can do about it but not participate, which I do not, I'm not paying those prices. Eventually, I suppose things will return to a more normal atmosphere, but we all know prices will never drop back to the pre Sandy Hook prices. I remember before the last shortage after Obama got elected, I was buying 22LR Remington 550 bricks for around $8. When the supply came back, the price was around $17.  I predict the new "normal" price to be bumping $30 a brick when supply returns....we'll see eventually maybe if people stop buying from the gougers.

  15. I support all U.S. gun manufacturers and will continue to do so. Remington can’t up and move a manufacturing facility without substantially increasing costs to us. It could bankrupt them.   This is just another way for the gun haters to turn us against each other… don’t fall for it.

  16.   Which is what will happen now.   This closure vote Will FORCE the Dems to speak against the 2A and the Bill of Rights.  Those Dems in Red states that face re-election in 2014 will be on the record in these debates.   This could be a major factor in the GOP taking back the Senate in 2014.  Dem Senators speaking against the 2A and then getting voted out in 2014.   With a GOP majority in the Senate & House, Obama becomes a Total and Complete Lame Duck for his last two years!   Make Obama powerless - - - That is how to defend the Constitution!

  18. My letter to the two:   It has come to my attention that you recently voted in favor of gun control.  As a strong supporter of the Second Amendment and believer in upholding the Constitution of the United States of America, I find your action to be embarrassing.  I feel ashamed that you represent my state of Tennessee and do not possess the will nor judgment to uphold that which my state holds dear, the Constitution.   When I see senators like Ted Cruz and Rand Paul standing up for the people they represent, I am ashamed that my own senators do not support them.  You decisions and actions will not be unnoticed, and you will no longer have my support nor vote in the future as I can no longer trust you to make the right decisions and stand up for what is right.

  20. So, since with ammo as it is, I have not been shooting much, so I have bought a few doo-dads and gadgets for my rifles.  I recently got a new red dot for one of my ar-15s.  I also bought one of those laser bore-sighters.  The one shaped like a bullet and goes in the chamber and shines a laser out the barrel.  well the instructions with the bore sighter said to not close the bolt and use the extractor to remove it from the chamber.  OK, no problem, I lock the bolt back, slide the boresighter in the chamber, and get the red-dot pretty close.  Now time to remove the boresighter.  I just pushed it in their with my finger, but it seems pretty tight-it won't just shake out.  Get a long rod and push it out from the other end?   Of course not!  I merely hold the rifle pointed straight up with my left hand on the handguard, I take my right middle finger and stick it into the magwell, right behind the firing chamber, cause I don't want my new calibrated laser bore sighter to bounce around the room and lose calibration.  Then I drop/slam the rifle onto the floor against the buttstock.  I hope you are with me so far.   CLINK, the bolt slams home, well almost home.  Now my middle finger is pinched like hell, and I am trying to pull the bolt back left handed with my right bird finger caught between the chamber and bolt.  it hurts like hell.

  21. You and me both brother. Nothing I'd like more than to go back to getting my weekly shoot stash on Friday and hitting the range on Saturday. It will happen, this isn't the first time guns/ammo have been hard to come by and it won't be the last.

  30. How is Remington selling out your rights? They are our brothers in this fight. They are also victims of out of control legislation. If they hadn’t taken the contract (one that any manufacturer anywhere in the world would be all over), it’s possible our manufacturing base would take another hit from foreign manufacturing.   Comparing a 1200 person heavy manufacturing to facility to somewhere like Magpul that contracts out the heavy lifting isn’t fair. They can’t just up and move.   If you kill off all the American gun manufacturers the government can then ban foreign imports…. Game over.   I support Remington, Smith & Wesson, Ruger, and all the other American manufacturers and want them to know that most of us support them in their struggles against the anti-gunners. I am disappointed that on a U.S. gun forum I have to use the word “most”; I should be able to use the word “all”.

  33. 2100 rds $99.00  + shipping $14.00.. Lets say its a $10.00 ammo box your getting for free.. Take that off the shipping cost.. So $14 - $10 = $4 shipping.. $99 ammo + $4 shipping = $103.00 for 4-525 rd bricks of ammo.. $103.00/4= $25.75 a brick shipped to your door. No gas expense driving to get them and remember your going to pay 10% tax at your local ammo store.. To me this is very reasonable price..    Edit.. No standing in lines at 5 a.m. to be told the guy in front of you bought the last box.. Priceless..

  34. At $180 a brick I will just go buy a high end pellet rifle in 22 caliber. I can do anything with it I an with a 22 lr. They are quieter as well which suits me more for survival anyways.   For cheap shooting I will just continue to shoot my 300 Blackout for 4.4 cents a round. And when I get my suppressor done for it it will be as quiet as my suppressed 22's are now.

  35. What Katrina was for gas; Sandy Hook is for ammo. We are driving the prices, not the government or the gun haters…. Hoarders and those trying to make a buck. Once those that have irrational fears of ammo bans get their stash; prices will drop. Unlike gas, we aren’t forced to buy ammo and with the ammo companies operating at full output eventually the shelves will start to refill.   If the government starts to tax ammo the way they do cigarettes; we may have a price problem.

  42. What credible threat?  Clearly TDOS loss that point in court... Nobody on this forum has made the argument that he made a direct threat or really posed a serious threat to the public.  I'm personally not a Yeager fan, but it's clear TDOS over reached, yet nobody has to pay for that overreach.   I know nobody wants to hold "public servants" accountable on here... but we should.  And in cases like this that accountability should be steep.

  43. All Corker has ever said in his canned responses is "I will certainly take your concerns into consideration."  This means nothing and he isn't committing to anything by saying this.  Here is the letter I emailed to Corker and Alexander (much thanks to the akforum.net for crafting it)   Dear Elected Official, On April 11th 2013, a majority of Senators in the United States Senate voted to allow Senate Bill 649 to move forward and potentially reach the President of the United States to be signed and become law. Senate Bill 649 is nothing more than an egregious affront to the Second Amendment of the Constitution of the United States. To even bring it to the floor of the Senate is a betrayal of the Oath of Office for a U.S. Senator. The title of Senate Bill 649 is “Safe Communities, Safe Schools Act of 2013” I’m sorry, but I fail to see any narrative within this bill that protects our communities or our children. This bill does nothing but infringe on our ability as responsible law-abiding citizens to purchase or sell firearms used for the defense of our family, homes, and personal possessions. Additionally, I failed to find any narrative that actually provides armed security guard initiatives for our children that attend public schools. Included in S.649, “The School and Campus Safety Enhancements Act of 2013 - Amends the Omnibus Crime Control and Safe Streets Act of 1968 to authorize school security grants by the DOJ Office of Community Oriented Policing Services to be used for the installation of surveillance equipment and the establishment of hotlines or tip lines for the reporting of potentially dangerous students and situations.” What does this do to prevent an “active shooter” within a public school? Why can’t our elected officials focus on the actual problem instead of meaningless legislation that infringes on responsible law-abiding citizen’s rights guaranteed by the Constitution? Astonishingly, 68 of our United States Senators (Democrats and Republicans) ignored their Oath of Office to “Support and defend the Constitution of the United States.” I was shocked to see your name listed among those that betrayed the U.S. Senate Oath of Office. This is a direct betrayal of the Constitution of the United States. The same Constitution you took an oath to support and defend. This is word for word from the United States Senate website: “Upon taking office, senators-elect must swear or affirm that they will "support and defend the Constitution." The president of the Senate or a surrogate administers the oath to newly elected or re-elected senators. The oath is required by the Constitution; the wording is prescribed by law.” I asked that you support me in future votes and to not vote for legislation that does not address the problem. By infringing on my Second Amendment Right, you jeopardize my responsibility to protect my family, my home, and my personal possessions. If you remember United States Supreme Court Case 545 U.S. 748, Castle Rock v. Gonzales, the Court ruled 7-2 that a town and its police department could not be sued under 42 U.S.C. 1983 for failing to enforce a restraining order, which led to the murder of a woman’s three children by her estranged husband. In short, the police are not required or obligated to protect citizens. It is the citizen’s responsibility and right to protect themselves. In closing, if you cannot support me as a constituent of this state, then I cannot and will not support you in future elections.  I will actively contribute my time and money against your future campaigns for office. Respectfully, INSERT YOUR NAME HERE

  45.  The rules at the Post Office don't make sense to me . Rifle's can be shipped from an individual to an FFL , as in a sale  or to a Manufacturer for repair. The rifle can be returned directly to me from the manufacturer after repair. But a Pistol MUST be sent from an FFL to an FFL if going Post Office. Pistols can be shipped UPS and maybe Fed Ex for repair but I think they make it go Overnight or second day air.     It was cheaper on me when I sold several pistols , to ship from my local FFL than to go UPS overnight. If it must go to an FFL I don't understand why the Post Office will not ship a pistol. I know it is in the rules and regulations but if it goes to an FFL it is his resposibility to be sure the buyer is able to legally purchase it or pick it up . I should just have to verify it is going to a current FFL dealer.

  46. It's beyond me how they can say that the votes today were only to move the issue forward for debate yada yada and that they fully support 2A yada yada......well, if you're such a staunch supporter, then why not make every effort to keep it from going any further period! This issue has been debated for months, you know where you stand. You either support our constitutional rights 100% or you don't.

  47. The whole problem is still the batteries.  People call electric cars "green" because they don't emit CO2.  Ever looked into the manufacturing processes for the Li-ion batteries?  They use some pretty nasty stuff.  They're very difficult to recycle.  They're very expensive.  And as Boeing recently learned, they're not especially stable.  The technology still has a long way to go before it's viable for the masses, IMO.
